This is in reference to your segment concerning PTSD. Years ago I had a bad case of PTSD and tried to commit suicide.I was rescued and sent to Walter Reed Army Hospital. Discharged,I wasn`t cured but sent home with tranquilizers and spent the next 13yrs going to the VA.They told us they didn`t know how to treat it and again sent us home with more tranquilizer. After 13 yrs and half crazy I again was thing suicide.I asked God what the answer was to overcome this problem. The answer was to understand the mind.I read psychology books non-stop for another 4or5yrs.One day I woke up and it all came together.I figured out.No obcessing about the war and the nightmares are over for good.If you`d like I` love to explain it to you and your audienceIt would take to long to explain breifly in a letter but you`re free to call me if you like at 1-315-238-7018
Our son, Michael, was Charlie Company commander for the 10th Mountain Division that joined forces in Mogadishu 20 years ago to rescue trapped Ranger and Special forces from certain annihilation, at the hands of waring Somalis. He wrote a book about his time in Somalia, which includes the rescuers' point of view on Black Hawk Down. Mike recently retired from the Army but still works at Fort Polk, helping to train young Army fighters in the art of combat. We suggest you get a copy of his book titled Madness in Mogadishu through Amazon.com. It is a fine companion to the Black Hawk Down event. Sincerely, Marcus and Rosemary Whetstone, Scottsdale, AZ
