Stop What You Are Doing!
Mike Huckabee
The New York Daily News reports that environmentalists who are trying to keep natural gas fracking out of New York have come up with some hilariously far-fetched arguments. The state plans to impose strict regulations to insure none of the usual apocalyptic warnings about fracking polluting ground water could occur. But environmentalists have to stop it anyway. So they’re arguing that it would lead to an terrible economic boom that would attract workers from out of state. That might lead to a housing crunch. The increased traffic might spark more highway fatalities, and discourage people from leaving their homes to get exercise. Plus an influx of young male workers could lead to the type of activity that spreads syphilis. That’s right, they think drilling and fracking spreads venereal disease.
If you think about it, any positive economic activity can lead to more people, rising housing prices and increased traffic. Maybe that’s why the modern environmental movement seems so determined to prevent any economic activity whatsoever.

This trend of environmentalists opposing any works of mankind is also treated in my political thriller The Noah Option. A 2012 Election must-read. I'm hoping Gov. Huckabee will review it on his show.

Wonderful night for Romney Everytime I thought of the debate during the day I prayed for Romney to do well. Thank you Lord!
I was so glad to hear him come out with the fact that Dr's. are quitting and many will not take Medicare patients. My Dr. went into a leadership medical position and my friend's Dr went into teaching. She had a rough time finding a Dr. who would take medicare patients. Already happening. Also my pension plan discontinued my health insurance as it was costing too much. Praying for the next debates -

Sir:
My wife and I discovered you radio broadcast one night and now we listen every chance we get.I am a petroleum Geologist and have been unemployed for a year and although I never had a problem finding a job before, I do now ! I know I am not the only one and hiring probably wont go up untill after the election, and then with the present administration it may not go up then.
I remember back when Obama was talking negative about the country and the "Self Fullfilling Prophocy" and talked us into a recession. Then enacted proposals that made it worse. I am so glad that Romney has a more hopefull and uplifting message then the DNC ( Dire News Communist!).
Although he would have a tough time he would be better than what we have had the last four years.
I do believe he will win this election, After he pulls Presidential Authourity to get us back on the right tract I hope that this congress will have the foresight that George Washington Had to restrict the power of the president so we dont get into another situation like this again.Bless you Sir

I ran into that same attitude in Vermont. 'It's our state. We're retired. We like it the way it is.'

Re: ...and take in Michael Crichton's "Pirate Latitudes" and "Micro"
"Pirate Latitudes" was published posthumously by Harper Collins on November 26, 2009 (recall MC died on November 4,2008). And "Micro" came out in 2011 co-authored with Richard Preston.
Of course, the MC books are not for the faint of heart. But reading these two books will certainly be a cathartic experience for MC fans who miss him.
IMHO, the books cleverly complete the MC cannon with the some information about how the economy and environment really are structured. Writing them also must have been a cathartic experience for MC the man, husband, father.
I wish he were still alive somewhere just watching the whole four years unfold. If not, hope he made it to Heaven.
