Among the many patriotic traditions that the left has shattered is that “politics ends at the water’s edge.” That is, when the President is abroad, representing America to the world, political opponents hold their attacks until he returns home. But the anti-Trump brigades in politics and the media can’t do that because they live on a 24/7 liquid diet of anti-Trump bile. So the attacks and innuendo and groundless calls for impeachment rage on, even as Trump is meeting with the leaders of Saudi Arabia.
Newt Gingrich warned that he’s been overseas and seen that people in other nations are terrified because they’re like loyal MSNBC viewers: the only image they have of America’s President is the one-sided hostile cartoon promoted by the media. Newt also had a warning for Congressional Republicans who are letting the opposition’s tsunami of propaganda cow them into turning against Trump and stalling the agenda that voters sent Republicans to DC to enact. Read his full comments at the link, but it was summed up long ago by Margaret Thatcher, under similar circumstances: This is no time to go wobbly.
