Today's Commentary:  Democrats 2020 Slogan -- Chinese Christians Face Oppression -- Remember Valerie Plame

Democrats are obviously hoping that all their screaming over President Trump pulling out of the Paris Climate Accord because we can’t afford the cost to our economy will convince voters to return them to power. So if you’d like a reminder of how they act when they are entrusted with power, check out California. A feel-good proposal to institute a statewide, single-payer government health care program is advancing through the legislature, despite none of its supporters having any earthly idea how they’re going to pay for it. And in case you think that’s a little problem that can be ironed out later: their own estimate of the cost is $400 billion a year, or more than twice the entire current state budget.

If this is what they plan to run on in 2020, their campaign slogan should be, “Let’s take ‘La-La Land’ Nationwide!”

Chinese Christians Face Oppression

By Mike Huckabee

The Middle East isn’t the only place where Christians are facing oppression and outright sadistic torture. Here’s a shocking account of what happened to a Christian attorney in China who dared to speak out against the atheist Communist Party’s human rights abuses, including a recent vicious crackdown on Christians. Remember, China is one of our biggest trading partners, which should give us leverage to do something about this, if our leaders had the gumption. Well, one might. Bob Fu, the founder and president of China Aid, says that President Trump is already doing more than his predecessor, including authorizing the rescue of the wife and two daughters of another imprisoned attorney. Read more about it at the link. You probably won’t see it anywhere else, since the American media are too obsessed with far more important stories, like unsourced Russian allegations and typos in Trump tweets.

Remember Valerie Plame

By Mike Huckabee

Remember the outrage from liberal outlets like the New York Times over the alleged outing of CIA employee Valerie Plame, who was living a comfy, secure life in DC? Well, it turns out that when the New York Times exposes the identity of the CIA operative who’s leading our undercover operations related to Iran and weakening al-Qaeda, that’s hunky-dory.

Mike, You gotta get past your ideology.... Re California Single Payer
California with a single payer means that Worker's Compensation insurance can be drastically reformed and cost savings from that can shift to help offset health care premiums. ER visits drop drastically and those cost savings get passed through the system. People w health care will be less likely to develop expensive conditions through adequate preventative medicine. Single Payer means the administrative cost to figure out benefits and how to bill across thousands of different insurances can be simplified and reduced. Less overhead means less cost pressure and longer sessions with your doctor. The pressure to corporatize delivery systems (your doctor) in order to get better contract leverage will be less as all patients will have access most everywhere.

As a provider, I can't wait, as an employer, I approve, as a patient, I support, as a Californian I urge adoption.
