In recent days we’ve been gifted with the astute political analysis of antiterrorism strategist Katy Perry and the hilarious cutting-edge comedy of laugh-riot Kathy Griffin. As if that weren’t enough, now we get to continue our journey towards self-enlightenment with the delicate philosophical musings of Jim Carrey.

According to Carrey, it really doesn’t matter what any of us does, because all of creation is just God’s Fidget Spinner. He knows this because...well, he doesn’t say. His advice to Griffin is that she should have held up a severed leg as well. According to Carrey, it doesn’t matter whether or not a joke is funny --- that explains much of his humor –- but it should “cross the line,” although the line “is not real,” which doesn’t make any sense, but never mind.

At the same time, he says the comedians are “the last line of defense” and “the last voice of truth.” Let’s all hope that’s not the case, especially if the last word comes from someone famous for talking out of a certain body orifice.
