BIBLE VERSE OF THE DAY
Worth Rewatching
By Mike Huckabee
Rush Limbaugh’s speech to CPAC in 1990, reminding political leaders of the human suffering caused by leftist policies and the need to stay true to conservative principles even when powerful forces relentlessly attack you for it. It’s a lesson that he exemplified for over 30 years, and one we sorely need repeated today.
President Biden's Townhall
By Mike Huckabee
President Biden had a townhall on CNN that’s being described as “disastrous.” Not because he fumbled any tough questions from CNN. Those are as rare for him as generators at Texas Home Depots right now.
No, as is often the case, the weird gaffes were all of Biden’s own making. Here’s a list entitled “Biden’s Six Weirdest Moments at the CNN Townhall”…
Some make you concerned about his state of mind, like claiming we didn’t have the COVID-19 vaccine when he came into office. Biden got vaccinated himself on live TV on December 21st, a month before he took office. Some critics are calling that a lie, but why tell a lie that everyone knows isn’t true? It just makes people think, “Does he not remember that?”
Some of the rest of the weird moments would just be insulting if they weren’t coming from someone with the fearsome power of the Presidency behind him. Like claiming that the biggest domestic threat of terrorism is from white supremacists in our police and military. I’m sure the cops and National Guard troops in DC who are freezing their heinies off to protect him from the imaginary armies of insurrectionist Trump voters appreciate being called racist terrorists. As one commentator on Instapundit pointed out, nothing says you're doing the will of the people like surrounding yourself with troops and razor wire fences, confiscating guns and cracking down on free speech.
But maybe even more shocking was Biden's apologia for those “good folks” who run communist China, and their vicious crackdowns on protesters in Hong Kong and brutal, even genocidal policies against cultural, racial and religious minorities. Here is what he said about his pal, President Xi Jinping:
“I’m not going to speak out against what he’s doing in Hong Kong, what he’s doing with the Uighurs in the western mountains of China and Taiwan, trying to end the One-China policy by making it forceful…Culturally, there are different norms in each country, and their leaders are expected to follow.”
He must think that the phrase “When in Rome…” ends with “don’t criticize them for throwing Christians to the lions.” I think he’s taken tolerance for “multi-culturalism” to its ultimate repellant conclusion.
It’s shocking to hear these words coming from an American President, especially after four years of seeing Trump stand up to China while Biden and his Party were calling him a dictator, accusing him of being soft on dictators, and even comparing him to Hitler. If a real Hitler were around today, would Biden tell us he’s not going to speak out against him because, after all, putting Jews in concentration camps is just his nation’s “cultural norm”? And as Biden reminded us, the Nazis were expected to "just follow orders."
(Since I hate to leave you with such a chilling, but accurate, comment, here’s a humorous satire story from the Babylon Bee that contains more truth than Biden’s entire Townhall. It’s headlined, “To Save Time, the Babylon Bee Will Now Just Publish Everything Biden Says Verbatim):

Red State Cities Dominate
By Mike Huckabee
A new list of American cities with the most successful economies is out, and is anyone surprised to hear that it’s dominated by red state cities, some of which have recently jumped in the ratings, while blue state cities have plummeted? San Francisco has dropped from #1 to #24, replaced in the top spot by Provo, Utah. Frankly, I'm stunned that San Francisco still rates that high.
Cities in the South and West are now outperforming coastal cities. There are a number of factors at work, including companies fleeing blue states and cities for cities with lower taxes, fewer anti-business regulations, more affordable housing and lower costs of living. Not to mention that taking a walk in Provo doesn’t expose you to rioters, looters, discarded drug needles, human feces on the sidewalks and insane homeless people pushing you in front of subway trains.
In fact, the only city in the top 10 that isn’t in a state that voted for Trump is Phoenix, Arizona. And as we all know, Biden “won” Arizona by fewer than 11,000 votes. Maybe some Arizona voters should have looked harder at San Francisco before casting those ballots.
Facebook Bans A Country
By Mike Huckabee
Well, I knew it would eventually come to this: Facebook has now banned an entire country. Since it’s Australia (geography lesson), you could also say they’ve banned an entire continent.
Because Australia is considering a bill that would force Facebook to share ad revenues with Australian news outlets when they allow stories from them to be posted, Facebook (as is standard practice with both Big Tech outlets and the Mafia) struck without warning and blocked users in Australia from being able to see or share news links or posts from Australian publishers.
This could be dangerous to public safety, since the ban cut users off from government information sites, such as the Bureau of Meteorology, which issues weather bulletins.
As is also similar practice, when called on their outrageous tactics, Facebook claimed that blocking the government information sites was an “error” that they’ve now corrected (their usual fallback when caught out is to blame obviously bad faith decisions on the algorithm, just as the mob always has a designated fall guy to take the rap.)
Google made a similar threat to block service to Australia, but relented and has started signing deals with some major news outlets.
To describe the issue in a nutshell: Google and Facebook have become incredibly rich by sucking up so much of the world’s ad revenue without having to create content of their own. For instance, if you search Google for “weather forecast,” the top response will be the current temperature and forecast, and if you click that, it will take you to The Weather Channel, or whoever created it. But most people don’t click the link because why bother? They got the info they needed from Google. So Google gets revenue from you seeing the ads on its page, but the Weather Channel, which actually put in the time, effort and expense of providing the data, gets no visitors and zero ad revenue. It’s as if they’re going into a store, shoplifting merchandise, and selling it to customers out in the parking lot so they don’t even have to come in.
This parasitical business model has made people like Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook extremely wealthy (and also convinced them they’re demigods who should be choosing our Presidents), which driving actual content creators out of business. You’d think they’d be more willing to share, since if all the news outlets go out of business, Facebook will be nothing but cat videos and pictures of people’s lunches, which to be honest, is mostly what it’s good for.
The tech giants may not realize it, but by exhibiting this kind of autocratic censorship, they’re not intimidating users (and now, even governments…and whole continents), they’re just making an overwhelming case that they are too big, too powerful and too drunk on power; that nobody should ever depend on them to be fair, open platforms for information; and that it’s long past time to break up their monopolies.
Cuomo's Emmy
By Mike Huckabee
Updates on New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s collapsing chances to win another Emmy:
CNN has ordered that there be no more fawning interviews of Gov. Cuomo by his brother, Chris Cuomo. So the news there is that CNN is gradually discovering journalistic ethics.
Also, with even New York Democrats calling for investigations and impeachment, a Queens Assemblyman accused Cuomo of calling him and threatening to destroy his career and reputation if he didn’t issue a statement to help cover up claims that nursing home COVID deaths were deliberately underreported to avoid a DOJ investigation. He told CNN (not to Chris Cuomo, I assume) that Cuomo said, “’We’re in this business together, and we don’t cross certain lines,’ and he said I hadn’t seen his wrath and that he can destroy me.”
No, this is not dialogue from “Godfather III.”
A Cuomo staffer denied that he said any of that. And how can you not trust a Cuomo staffer to tell you the truth?
