Joe Biden leads America off the left side of the cliff

We have a complete meltdown of control at our southern border, with the tragedy of little kids being trafficked as if they were boxes of Mexican fruit-suffering abuse and deprivation; the drug cartels are taking advantage of the border breakdown by pouring deadly drugs into our country that is killing people from New York to Oregon; gasoline will soon be double the cost it was a year ago, and some people can’t find a gas station that has any gas left; employers can’t stay open because people are living off government giveaways of stimulus checks and unemployment instead of taking jobs that are available; our schools are still closed in many places because the teachers don’t want to go back to the classroom, and the Middle East is being burned down by rockets flown by jihadist terrorists from the Hamas stronghold of Gaza. At the rate he’s going, Joe Biden will make Jimmy Carter become a candidate to become the 5th President on Mt. Rushmore.
I admit I didn’t vote for Joe Biden and feared he would lead us off the left side of the cliff, but even I thought it would take longer than 100 days to do it.
I’m especially grieved to see the great progress toward peace in the Middle East that was achieved by the historic Abraham Accords replaced by violence, destruction and death as the terror group Hamas fires thousands of rockets toward civilian targets in Israel. Joe Biden wants to revive the horrible deal with Iran to supposedly cause them to give up building a nuclear weapon, but sensing real weakness on the Biden team has emboldened Iran to buy more rockets for Gaza so they can try to kill Israelis. This at a time when Gaza and the Palestinians could sure use schools, streets, medical care, and jobs. Instead they use the Iranian money and sadly, money you the American taxpayer gives them to buy bullets, bombs, and rockets to kill Jews in Israel.
To his credit, after a few days of silence, President Biden finally called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and publicly acknowledged that Israel has a right to defend itself against these senseless attacks on their sovereign land.
For the past four years, Israel was in the most peaceful period of the past decade. President Trump moved the Embassy to Jerusalem just as he had promised and his team tried a completely different approach to peace which resulted in the breakthrough Abraham Accords, which brought about the first peace agreement between Israel and Arab lands in 25 years. As a result, the UAE, Morocco, Bahrain, and others are now trade partners and tourism partners with Israel with other Arab nations being expected to follow.
Joe Biden was in government for almost 50 years. Donald Trump had never held any political office. Sure Trump could be rough around the edges, but when you’re stuck in a long line to get gas that is costing you twice what it did a year ago while listening to the news about the violence in the Middle East and the downturn of our economy, you might want to remember that it’s not the personality of a President that gives our nation its strength, but his policies. And the ones we’re seeing right now just aren’t working out well.
IDF Trick

I reported Friday that Israel launched a ground operation in Gaza and had troops and tanks on the border, but I made it clear that they had not entered Gaza. Too bad for Hamas that they don’t get this newsletter and receive accurate information. A lot of other media outlets were so eager to condemn Israel that they ran stories accusing Israeli troops of entering (or “invading”) Gaza. That was wrong, but it was also exactly what the Israelis wanted Hamas to believe. To quote that great military leader Admiral Ackbar from “Star Wars,” “It’s a trap!”
Thinking Israeli troops were nearby, hundreds of Hamas fighters who had been hiding among the civilian population fled into the Hamas tunnel network to prepare for battle. But when they came charging out of the tunnel, there were no Israeli troops on the ground and no civilians around to use as human shields. Just 160 Israeli aircraft flying overhead that wiped out their clear, easy target from above.
It was an ingenious trick on behalf of the IDF, but it never would have worked without the media’s reliable habit of running any story that makes Israel sound bad without bothering to get the facts straight. So thanks, anti-Israel leftist media: they couldn’t have killed all those Hamas militants without you.

Not sure this is even news, but I try to be thorough, so I’ll mention that about 150 anti-Trump Republicans and former Republican leaders signed a letter demanding that the party return to its principles (as they apparently define them) or they might leave and form a new party.

Considering this group includes such raving anti-Trump partisans as George Conway, I’m sure most Republicans will be able to hold back their tears at their departure. They credulously repeat the Democrats’ propaganda that Trump encouraged the January 6th Capitol violence (which they wildly claim was an actual insurrection attempt) and that any suspicions about the 2020 election results are part of a “Big Lie” conspiracy.
Evan McMullin claimed that "a fourth to a third of the party has desired a new direction for it. Obviously, that’s still a minority of the party, but it’s a significant number." True, but I suspect it’s also a number pulled out of his hat. For instance, McMullin ran as an Independent against Trump and Clinton in 2016 and scored 0.5% of the national vote. He spent the next four years attacking Trump and endorsed Biden in 2020, so it seems to me that he left the GOP long ago.
And in a recent Texas special election, Trump-endorsed candidate Susan Wright came in first while an anti-Trumper endorsed by letter-signer Rep. Adam Kinzinger came in 5th among Republicans and 9th overall, scoring 2503 votes out of 78,374 cast. That’s 3.2% of the total vote or about 5% of the Republican vote. I’d have to have the math skills of a Squad member to think that’s a fourth to a third of the party.
Personally, I don’t want to see the Republicans lose any votes, and I think it’s foolish to try to split the party when there are such narrow margins of victory and so much at stake. But I can’t fathom how anyone could make an A-B comparison between Trump’s actions over four years (protecting life, defending religious freedom, securing the border, supporting Israel, standing up for American workers, and on and on) and the radical leftist destruction Biden has wrought in just his first 100 days, and think Trump is the biggest threat to traditional American values and the Constitution. If you believe that, you don’t need your own political party; you either need a psychiatrist or a few dozen more I.Q. points.
In a somewhat related story, a more relevant group also released an open letter with a very different message. A coalition of 124 retired generals and admirals known as Flag Officers 4 America put out a statement questioning President Biden’s mental health and warning that “our nation is in great peril.” They declare, “We are in a fight for our survival as a Constitutional Republic like no other time since our founding in 1776. The conflict is between supporters of Socialism and Marxism vs. supporters of Constitutional freedom and liberty.”
Might I suggest that those hissy-fit-throwing anti-Trumpers read over this. Maybe it would give them an attitude adjustment and remind them of what “priorities” are.
President Biden's weakness is revealed

The fallout from President Biden’s first 100 days of insane policies is all hitting at once, from the stock market drop to gas lines to inflation fears to worker shortages to border chaos. But perhaps the most tragic is the flare-up of violence in the Middle East. Trump, who was assailed as a bumbling amateur by the Democrats, presided over the destruction of ISIS, the corralling of Hamas and Iran, and unprecedented peace agreements between Israel and its Arab neighbors. Biden reversed all of Trump’s policies, including lifting sanctions on Iran and sending at least $90 million in US aid to the Palestinians (Trump had blocked US funds going to the Palestinian Authority.)
In announcing this last month, a Biden State Department spokesman declared, “We continue to believe that American support for the Palestinian people, including financial support, it is consistent with our values. It is consistent with our interests. Of course, it is consistent with the interests of the Palestinian people. It’s also consistent with the interests of our partner, Israel, and we’ll have more to say on that going forward.”

I’d love to hear what he has to say about it now, after Hamas and Palestinian militants started firing missiles at Israeli civilians (over 600 missiles since Monday), prompting a strong Israeli military response. Wednesday, an Israeli air strike killed Bassem Issa, Hamas’ Gaza City commander and the highest-ranking Hamas figure taken out by Israel since 2014. The strike also killed Hamas’ head of rocket development and cyber warfare, their head of rocket production, and the Hamas engineering chief.
One thing America’s prominent Israel haters never give the nation credit for is that it is home to people of many backgrounds and faiths, and is the only real democracy in the Middle East. But they may be forced to acknowledge that there are many Arabs living in Israel now because Arab mobs are rioting in Israeli cities. The rioting became so intense in the central Israeli city of Lod that officials compared it to the Nazis’ 1938 Kristallnacht pogrom. City Hall and a museum were attacked, and dozens of cars, a number of shops and three synagogues were burned. The mayor warned that civil war was breaking out and decades of coexistence efforts had collapsed.
The Lid blog makes the case that even if our tax money isn’t directly funding Hamas’ purchase of missiles, this is still something facilitated by Biden that would never have happened under Trump. Look at their lists comparing Trump’s pro-Israel actions with the long list of Israel haters and Iran appeasers appointed to high positions by Biden. This is sending Iran, Hamas and other militants a clear signal that they’ll face no more consequences for attacking Israel than Antifa will for burning down Portland.

Former President Trump warned that Biden’s weakness, his refusal to stand up for Israel and his coddling of terrorist regimes is encouraging the violence and it will only get worse.
Larry Kudlow even advanced the belief that the Colonial Pipeline shutdown allegedly caused by Russian hackers and the Hamas attacks on Israel are related. He suggests that our enemies sense that Biden is weak so they’re testing him, and he’s failing those tests. He’s not standing up for Israel, he’s not blasting Iran, and he’s not holding Russia accountable, he’s just taking the punches.
Even the weak sauce Biden does dish out, like issuing a statement supporting Israel’s right to defend itself, is attacked by his own far-left party members like AOC and Ilhan Omar.
Problem is, it’s not really Biden who’s taking the punches for his incompetence, fecklessness and wrongheaded policies. It’s our ally Israel, the American people and America’s international reputation and leadership position.
Twitter Justice

Palestinian Muslim actress and TV host Veena Malik (aka Zahida Malik), star of a number of Bollywood and Palestinian films, tweeted a graphic containing this possibly apocryphal quote from Adolf Hitler: “I would have killed all the Jews of the world…but I kept some to show the world why I killed them.”

This was just the latest in a number of her tweets condemning Jews and cheering on the violence against Israel. After that tweet raised understandable outrage, Malik deleted it and some others, but her account still has many more such tweets remaining. Critics noted that Twitter, which banned President Trump permanently on a false charge of inciting violence, has yet to remove Malik, a blue-check account holder with 1.2 million followers who is literally quoting Hitler to encourage the genocide of Jews.
Meanwhile, Israeli actress and “Wonder Woman” star Gal Gadot tweeted a heartfelt message urging peace and unity, and she was savaged by Twitter users. She was accused of excusing Israeli genocide of Palestinians and attacked for having served in the Israeli Defense Forces, which is mandatory for Israeli citizens.

I checked some of the people who attacked her, and their Twitter accounts are still up, too. On the plus side, at least Twitter has not yet banned Gal Gadot for saying she’s praying for peace, so I guess that’s an improvement.
Stacey Abrams is still talking nonsense

Failed Georgia gubernatorial candidate and vote fraud advocate Stacey Abrams announced that she wants to run for President (I wonder how many ballots have already been cast for her.) She claims her main goal is to amplify the voices of black Americans, but there are a number of black Americans in her home state who want the world to know that Abrams does not speak for them.
These groups of black Republicans and business owners are not happy with Abrams misrepresenting Georgia’s new election security law and firing up boycotts and the loss of the Major League All-Star Game that cost Atlanta $100 million in tourist revenue.
Reynard Jackson, founder of Black Americans for a Better Future Education Fund, said, “Stacey Abrams doesn’t speak for the black community. She speaks for the white liberals who bankroll her political ambitions. Stacey Abrams doesn’t actually care about making it easier for Black people to vote, she only cares about making it easier for Democrats to vote.”
Lisa Babbage of the Georgia Black Republican Council also blasted Abrams for painting black people as being so stupid that they’re incapable of obtaining an ID.
FYI: I’m not reporting this just to relay negative comments about Stacey Abrams, as well-deserved as they might be. I’m doing it because the media keep telling us that we need to pay more attention to the voices of black Americans, while they ignore, censor, marginalize, and worst of all, use racist slurs against (see Sen. Tim Scott) any black Americans who dare to disagree with the opinions of wealthy white liberals.
I’ll believe they believe in respecting all black voices when I see them start showing some respect for black Republicans.
On a related subject, this is an interesting YouTube video on the ratings disaster that was this year’s Oscars, with its woke scolding of viewers, its arrogant and humorless attitude, and its raft of nominations for liberal message movies that nobody watched.
It features a young black actor named Clifton Duncan who admits he’s risking “cancellation” for saying this, but he’s had it with actors preaching their liberal politics instead of entertaining the customers. He strikes me as smart, likable, charismatic, very talented and extremely refreshing. I could see him becoming a big star if the leftist gatekeepers don’t blacklist him.
A couple of my favorite quotes: he calls his job being an “adult pretender” and says he gets paid to do what children do on playgrounds…“at least, in red states.” He also reminds his fellow actors that a talent for acting doesn’t imbue them with any special insights into public policy, economics or science, noting that if he screws up in his job, no babies die and nobody dies of cancer.
New Van Morrison album ticks off "woke" critics

Over the past year, rock legend Van Morrison has become more and more outspoken against leftist tyranny, like illogical endless lockdowns that kill musicians’ careers and cancel culture that silences any dissenting views. He’s released songs protesting these things, with proceeds going to help out-of-work musicians. Now, he has just released a new album (two CDs or three vinyl LPs) called “Latest Record Project Volume 1” that carries on that theme.
As always with Morrison, the songs cover a variety of subjects and musical styles, but there are some songs that definitely rip the current social media-enforced, leftist groupthink, like “They Own the Media” and “Why Are You On Facebook?” Ironically, liberal rock critics, who have always lauded Morrison and presented themselves as defenders of politically-outspoken, non-conformist artists, are furious at Morrison for refusing to conform to their politics.

The Spectator notes in its round-up of scathing reviews of the album (because of the politics of the lyrics) that one critic ends his review with “You are hereby and forthwith canceled.” Apparently, the irony of trying to cancel someone for protesting cancel culture is lost on him. As is the idea that some little-known snotty critic can "cancel" Van Morrison.
Anyway, I just thought you might like to check this album out. I’ve never even been much of a Van Morrison fan, but I just ordered it on Amazon on vinyl. There are precious few people in show business with the guts and gravitas to stand up to this garbage, and when one of them does, I think they deserve to be supported.
A Reader Writes Back...
This is not the first time I have read where Maxine Waters was guilty of using funds for her own personal use. What bothers me is that I read about our politicians breaking the law but they are never held accountable. Why is that? Why has the Hunter Biden case been dropped? So many questions and no answers. Maybe I am wrong, but I believe that God fights Israel's battles. Several times in the past, Israel has won battles when their equipment was inferior to their enemies.
