The Left responds to Tim Scott with racism

I haven’t written much about the racist attacks from the left on my friend, Sen. Tim Scott, for his terrific speech in response to President Biden’s address to Congress. You can tell how terrified the left is of his positive message that America isn’t a racist nation by the fact that they’re trying to prove how racist is by acting like a bunch of revolting racists.
I didn’t comment on Joy Behar or Jimmy Kimmel (both of whom have appeared in blackface in the past, but they’re liberals, so it’s okay) giving jaw-dropping illustrations of condescending rich, white liberals lecturing a black man from the South that he just doesn’t understand racism the way they do. That’s because I expect them to say dumb things for the same reason that I expect a duck to quack. And naturally, I expect Al Sharpton to furiously denounce Sen. Scott for promoting unity and defending America. Al Sharpton needs Americans to be divided by racial distrust for the same reason that Bill Gates needs everyone to have a computer: it’s his livelihood.
But the main reason I haven’t commented on this is that it would require me to quote some of the nasty, racist things coming out of the mouths of these people, which are not only insults to my friend and a great American, but they also personally disgust me. I don’t want to repeat those comments or give them any attention.
However, as the pundit Bonchie at Redstate.com points out, by not shining a spotlight on them, I’m inadvertently playing along with the liberal media, who are also ignoring those stories for a very different reason: to protect Democrats by keeping the public from knowing about their truly offensive comments. As Bonchie notes, these outlets will go ballistic over some college kid innocently making the “Okay” finger gesture, but ignore actual Democratic officials using vile racist slurs.
Here’s another example of how they’ll amplify an absurd charge of “white supremacy” by an innocent person while ignoring those in their own midst who are spewing racist bile like a firehose:
So here’s what I’m going to do. I just told you about these reprehensible comments and the lack of accountability for them. But I refuse to quote them. Instead, I’ll link to Bonchie’s article. If you want the ugly details of who and what, go there. Then you'll know exactly what they said when you hear them lecture us about accountability after not being held accountable themselves.

Speaking of vile racist “anti-racist” leftists, if you haven’t seen this video yet, prepare to feel your blood boiling.
A Latino Los Angeles deputy sheriff pulled over a driver for using her cell phone while driving. His body camera recorded her proudly declaring that she’s a teacher, and then calling him a murderer and a Mexican. She rants, “You’re always gonna be a Mexican, you’ll never be white, you know that?”
Fox News national correspondent Bill Melugin identified the driver but didn’t reveal her identity. He did confirm that she has worked as a professor at L.A. area schools and has a history of making false complaints against deputies.
LA County Sheriff Alex Villanueva said we now have people labeling every cop as a murderer because of incidents like Derek Chauvin, but this shows that bigotry and racism come in all colors and ages, adding: "She claims to be a teacher. I'm not so sure where she is teaching...but if she represents her profession, is that an indictment on her profession and the caliber of people?"
No, I’m sure she would argue that you can’t assume all teachers are arrogant, lying bigots just because one is. After all, if you judge an entire group of people by the actions of just one, you can’t call yourself a "progressive," can you? Because that's what racists do.
RIP Billie "Witchiepoo" Hayes

I’m sad to have to report the passing of another beloved TV icon that I’m sure many of our readers grew up with, even if they didn’t know her real name. Actress Billie Hayes died last week in Los Angeles of natural causes at 96. You know her better as the inept “Witchiepoo” on the 1960s-‘70s Saturday morning kids’ shows, “H.R. Pufnstuf” and “Lidsville.”
Hayes honed her boisterous comic chops in nightclubs and on stage, with her first big part being the indomitable Mammy Yokum in the Broadway musical of “L’il Abner” and the movie made from it.
Wilhelmina W. Witchiepoo (her full name) was meant to be the show’s villain, but Haye’s ball-of-energy comic mania and slapstick antics were so hilariously endearing that she became the show’s star. You know you’ve got mad charisma when kids are rooting for the villain, and you can steal scenes from a bunch of psychedelic puppets and a talking flute.
Witchiepoo became so popular, she was later transplanted into the Krofft series “Lidsville,” where Hayes also played Weenie the Genie. “Pufnstuf” became a theatrical movie in 1970, with Martha Raye and Mama Cass Elliot teaming with Witchiepoo as fellow witches (Martha Raye seemed a perfect match for Hayes, and later became Benita Bizarre in the Krofft series, “The Bugaloos.”) Cass Elliot reportedly wanted to appear with Witchiepoo because her daughter loved the show. She sang an excellent song called “Different.”
And of course, Witchiepoo popped with her “sister,” Margaret Hamilton, in Paul Lynde’s notoriously campy 1976 Halloween special. This takes you to her entrance:

But if you watch the whole thing, you get to see KISS make their TV debut.
Hayes played many other roles, including a stint as spy Brighton O’Reilly on “General Hospital,” and did countless cartoon voices, as well as founding the animal rescue charity, Pet Hope. But she will be loved by an entire generation as Witchiepoo – even if she never did manage to steal that annoying talking flute.
Updated: Weekend Election results show 2022 may be difficult year for the Democrats

UPDATE: The Kansas lawmakers also overrode the Governor’s veto of a bill to safeguard election integrity. It bans ballot harvesting, limits electioneering, bars private funds such as the millions given by Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg from being used to administer elections, and prohibits the Governor or Secretary of State from making unilateral changes in election laws under the guise of an “emergency.”
ORIGINAL STORY: Election results from over the weekend are still rolling in, and they’re not very good omens for the Democrats in 2022, or for anyone pushing the current rabid “woke” culture.
For instance, residents of Southlake, Texas, defied an ocean of slanted media coverage calling them racist for opposing racist “anti-racism” indoctrination in schools. They turned out in numbers larger than in the presidential election to vote for a mayor, two city council members and two school board members. And they made it clear that they want Marxist “Critical Race Theory” out of their schools.
Here’s more proof of how much voting in local elections matters: the Republicans have enough votes in the Kansas House and Senate that they just overrode the Democrat Governor’s veto of a bill to lower the concealed carry age limit from 21 to 18. It seems odd that Democrats think Americans are mature enough to vote at 16, mature enough to join the Army at 18, but not mature enough to own a gun until they’re 21.
And here are more reasons why the Democrats’ House majority could be in trouble.
A reminder: things only change when you go out and vote. I know a lot of Republicans are feeling discouraged and think the elections are rigged and saving America is a lost cause. Well, it doesn't look nearly as bleak as it has in other times, like Washington’s or Lincoln’s. We’ve faced worse and triumphed. But we didn’t do it by sitting on the sofa and watching Netflix while letting people who wanted to destroy America take over. The good news is that you’re not being asked to sacrifice your lives, your fortunes and your sacred honor. You just have to speak up, volunteer, organize, campaign, help turn out the base and go vote yourself. Doesn’t sound all that hard when you put it in context. And look at this weekend’s elections to see how well it works.
Never forget: the people who want to change America into a socialist dystopia are very loud but small in numbers. They’re just the tail wagging the dog. Go vote and bob that tail.
Iowa: Government colludes with Big Tech AGAIN

Last week, the story broke from Judicial Watch about California government officials coordinating with social media to censor posts they labeled “misinformation.”

This strategy tied right back to the Biden campaign through SKDKnickerbocker, a communications company that developed Biden’s mail-in vote campaign for the states of Pennsylvania, Michigan, Arizona and Wisconsin. (Funny how these all happen to be key states with contested election results.) SKDK would go to the California Office of Election Cybersecurity and advise them of posts about the election that they thought should be taken down, and that government office would, in turn, go to social media giants Facebook, Twitter and Google and ask them to take down those posts or flag them as “misinformation.” Two dozen posts were censored in this way.
Now, through another open records lawsuit, Judicial Watch has uncovered another example of the same kind of censorship, this time in Iowa.
“These records are yet another example of state officials conspiring with Big Tech to deny Americans their First Amendment rights,” said Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton.
Again, the significance of this is that it isn’t just a private corporation such as Facebook censoring communication --- which is bad enough --- but involves GOVERNMENT as well, and on a subject as constitutionally important as the ELECTION. It should send a chill up anyone’s spine who cares about the First Amendment, specifically the protection of political speech.
When you read the story as reported in THE EPOCH TIMES, you’ll marvel at how aggressively the Iowa Secretary of State’s Office worked to try to get Twitter to take down posts. Facebook rolled right over, but to his credit, Kevin Kane at Twitter resisted, saying the post (by Judicial Watch) “is not in violation of our election integrity policy as it does not suppress voter turnout or mislead people about when, where or how to vote.”
This wasn’t just Iowa pressuring Kane, either. The Iowa office had enlisted the director of communications for the National Association of Secretaries of State. When Twitter still didn’t comply, they wouldn’t let it drop and took it another step, to the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (SISA) in the Department of Homeland Security.
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but Twitter deserves credit for not bending to the pressure.
So, what was the posted comment by Judicial Watch that generated all this fuss? JW had said that eight Iowa counties had voter registration rates at greater than 100 percent of the voting-age population. This is an amazing statistic to be sure, but it was based on data that had been supplied by the state of Iowa to the federal Election Assistance Commission (EAC).
“The EAC data is the gold standard,” Fitton told THE EPOCH TIMES when this dispute was going on. In other lawsuits filed in other states, Judicial Watch had successfully used their data. Here’s JW's full statement at the time. They had high confidence in their claim and advised Iowa to clean up its voter rolls.
The problem here is, it wasn’t enough for the state of Iowa to dispute the figures Judicial Watch was talking about. They tried to throw their weight around to get the post taken down. Once more, a line has been crossed, and we're into government censorship territory.
Oh, but there’s even more going with government and private business colluding to deprive us of our rights. You know that pesky little detail called a “warrant” that’s supposed to be used when the government spies on Americans? Without a warrant, federal officials are allowed by law only to scroll through public posts on social media; they can’t enter private chat rooms or follow private accounts. And the government can’t use information it obtained illegally to prosecute a case. But private citizens and companies can get the information! Can you tell where I’m going with this?
We’re not sure how much credibility to give this report, as it originated with CNN, but Biden is said to be “considering” using online firms to track “extremist chatter by Americans online.” Take a look at the picture in this tweet from CNN NationalSecurity and it’ll be obvious whose “extremist chatter” he’s talking about.
That’s right, it’s the “domestic terrorists” waving American flags in front of the Capitol Building on January 6. One consequence of their ill-advised stunt is that conservatives are now facing attacks from all sides on their constitutional rights. This is one more.
“We are exploring with our lawyers, civil rights, civil liberties and privacy colleagues, how we can make use of outside expertise” --- that’s how one Homeland Security official phrased it to CNN.
“Using private contractors to monitor social media sites would give DHS [Homeland Security] a work-around to warrant requirements,” reports Michael Ginsberg of the DAILY CALLER. “The government is required to obtain warrants before accessing private messages and social media accounts. However, in the new reported plan, the private contractors could tell the government officials what information they saw, this avoiding the warrant application.”
Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley went on Tucker Carlson’s FOX NEWS show Monday night to warn about this. At the time of this writing, the video clip hadn’t been posted, but it might be now.
The big take-away is this: if Biden gets private cybersecurity firms to essentially do his spying for him, he can bypass the whole warrant thing, which is sooooo inconvenient. And then he can go to court with whatever they find.
