Democrats Are Causing Societal Upheaval

In case you missed this, since it originally appeared over the July 4th weekend, former Mother Jones writer Kevin Drum compiled a number of stats and charts to disprove the claim that America is undergoing so much social upheaval because Republicans have moved far right. In fact, this societal chaos is being caused by the fact that Democrats have moved waaaaaaaaaay to the left and are now far more radical than they were even during the Obama years.
This is a good antidote to the gaslighting about Trump being so far right. In most regards, his views were pretty standard conseravative stances. He just sent so many Democrats, and establishment Republicans, into hysterics because he actually governed as if he believed them.

"Misinformation"

Thursday, Biden Press Secretary Jen Psaki revealed that the White House is flagging “problematic” Facebook posts that include “misinformation” about COVID or vaccines and reporting them to Facebook for removal.
The list of alleged “misinformation” includes suggestions that “COVID-19 is manmade or manufactured.” Is that really “settled science?” A rising number of scientists might disagree on that point.
The story also notes that Democrats are concerned that “misinformation” on social media might harm their electoral chances in 2022. To paraphrase Bill Clinton, that would depend on what the meaning of “misinformation” is. They’ve already made it clear that they believe that simply disagreeing with their political positions is tantamount to lying and spreading disinformation. Should we really trust that their collusion with Big Tech to silence speech on the Internet that they deem “misinformation” will remain limited to scientifically-verifiable comments on COVID?
Several conservative commentators pointed out the obvious: for four years, leftists accused Trump of being a fascist. Do you know what real fascist leaders do? They collude with the media to control and silence the free speech of their critics.
Suffering In China

While too many of our wealthy elite are too addicted to Chinese money to dare criticize China’s communist government, the truth is out there if you look for it. And you can find some hard truths right here:

You will never again be able to stomach another lecture on feminism from a Hollywood celebrity who kowtows to China.
One of the women said, “Millions of Uyghurs are suffering, and they are alive only because they have the hope and belief that there is justice in this world.” She begged those listening to “save my people from this oppression.”
How about it, Hollywood, and US corporations that openly stand in solidarity with China? Are cheap labor and lucrative markets more important to you than stopping brutality and genocide? Because if they are, I never want to see another disgustingly hypocritical movie, TV show, award show speech, sporting event stunt or other virtue-signaling display to show how much more woke, progressive and caring you are than the rest of us.
CNN Viewership In Key Demographic Craters

CNN built its brand not on trustworthy news reporting but on attacking Trump. Now, Trump is gone and so are CNN’s viewers. Here’s how far their ratings have fallen: CNN’s morning show “New Day” recently scored only 76,000 viewers in the core 25-54 demographic.
For comparison, you could put the entire national 25-54 audience for CNN’s morning show into AT&T Stadium where the Cowboys play (max. capacity 105,000) and still have more than enough room to invite the entire population of the Dallas suburb of Colleyville to join them. But if you want them to show up, you’d better have a Cowboys game to show them and not CNN.

Update On Those Runaway Texas House Democrats

The runaway Texas House Democrats are enjoying their little spree and the media spotlight it’s given them, but maybe learning that actions have consequences will turn them into Republicans.
Incidentally, while they were shirking their job duties in DC, the House Democrats visited the Capitol, were lauded by Chuck Schumer, and they endorsed his efforts to kill the filibuster so the Democrats can pass their Nationalize Vote Fraud Act, since it’s an assault on democracy for a minority to prevent the majority from passing whatever it wants.

I’m sure they also saw the monuments to Lincoln, Jefferson and Washington. But if they want to see America’s biggest monument to hypocrisy, they just have to look in the nearest mirror.
Racial Politics In The Military

I must be getting old. I remember when Navy training was about learning how to steer a ship well enough to defeat our enemies at sea and not about crashing the ship of state on the rocks of racial politics.
And speaking of prioritizing woke leftist political agendas over military preparedness, here’s Tucker Carlson’s commentary on our current Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the revelation that his biggest concern about a threat to America was that President Trump might try to stage a military coup. As Trump himself made abundantly clear, that’s coup-coup.

Davidson College Nonsense

Davidson College in North Carolina is going to offer a course called “#AbolishThePolice,” by a teacher who claims that the US has the highest rate of police violence and misconduct in the world. Can’t help wondering how many nations were included in that study.

Finman said, “Everyone is complaining about Big Tech censorship, but no one is doing anything about it. They say, ‘Build your own phone!’ So I did.”

As I said, I know nothing about this product personally, but I certainly like the direction it's going. Big Tech has gotten too big for its britches, and with Democrats in charge and unlikely to stop the abuses that benefit them, the best way to combat them is by supporting competitors and cutting them down to size. If the current tech giants want to prioritize leftist politics over serving customers, then show them you don’t need their services and let them become the MySpace and flip phones of the 2020’s.
