1. A California mass shooting

Saturday night at the Star Ballroom Dance Studio in Monterey Park, California, a gunman launched a mass shooting that killed 10 people and injured 10 others before people wrestled his gun away and he fled. The area has a large Asian population and the event was a Lunar New Year celebration, so the victims are likely all Asian-Americans.

The leftist disinformation brigade quickly took to social media to blame racist Trump supporters, whom they also blame for a rise in anti-Asian hate crimes (in defiance of statistics about who is actually targeting Asians), and to call for banning AR-15 rifles. That narrative quickly crumbled when police found the alleged shooter’s van and discovered the suspect dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was Huu Can Tran, 72, and he reportedly used a handgun. No motive is known at this time.
This is a developing story, and I urge you to pray for the victims and avoid listening to any uninformed opinions masquerading as news.

2. The Extreme Left is thrilled by violence and violent rhetoric, Part I
Most Antifa members around the US surprisingly had enough sense to ignore the Atlanta radicals’ call for a “Night of Rage” on Friday attacking police, after one of their own shot and injured a police officer in Georgia and was killed by the police (the FBI verified that the gun taken off of him was the one fired at the officer.) But there was violence over the weekend in Atlanta, with the leftist thugs attacking the Atlanta Police Foundation Building with fireworks and spray paint, smashing windows and vandalizing businesses, and setting fires, including burning two police vehicles.
As that report shows, it did not go well for them, as the police moved in and arrested them (this ain’t Seattle.) To give you an idea of the brain trust we’re dealing with, one was caught on video yelling “I can’t breathe!” as she was being walked to a police car with zip ties on her wrists. If she couldn’t breathe, it must’ve been because she was so dumb, she forgot how.
Speaking of dumb, you surely remember the infamous meme of a CNN reporter standing in front of a burning building during the BLM riots and assuring us it was a “mostly peaceful protest.” Well, the blinders-wearing press staged a return Saturday, with one local reporter insisting that the Atlanta arsonists and rioters were “largely peaceful…”

…And a CNN guest claiming that the only violence was instigated by the police.
Atlanta’s Mayor Andre Dickens may be a Democrat, but he wasn’t putting up with that. He thanked the police for “restoring order in a swift manner.” He said, “Make no mistake about it, these people meant harm to people and to property,” and “The city of Atlanta and the Atlanta Police Department will not, will not tolerate this and we continue to protect the right to peacefully protest. We will not tolerate violence or property destruction.”
Or as CNN would call that, “Mostly peaceful violence and property destruction.”
3. The Extreme Left is thrilled by violence and violent rhetoric, Part II
There was some other leftist violence in Boston, where one radical was arrested for spray-painting Antifa anti-cop slogans on a monument, and fellow protesters attacked police who arrested him. That arrestee turned out to be Jared “Riley” Dowell, the 23-year-old son of House Democratic Minority Whip Katherine Clark. Dowell apparently “identifies” as “non-binary,” although maybe not anymore since in Clark’s tweet about the arrest, she referred to him as her daughter.
I’m not going to assume that her mixing radical left politics into her parenting might have contributed to this, because sometimes kids go wrong no matter what parents do. But considering she’s on record as almost proudly talking about how her kids wake up with nightmares because they’ve been so terrified by climate change scare stories and think that a mass shooter might be about to attack them at any time, it does tend to suggest some poor parenting decisions.
Social media users also thought Clark’s tweet had more red flags than a Russian May Day parade.
One made a good point: If House Democrats are so worried about insurrectionists and domestic terrorists, then they should stop raising them.
4. Heads-Up
It seems that every time we’re told some new revelation about the Biden classified documents scandal, liberals in the media come up with a new excuse to dismiss. But there’s always another revelation after that, and then another, to the point that his defenders have boxed themselves in and have no more feeble excuses left other than just sticking their fingers in their ears, closing their eyes and yelling, “I can’t HEAR you!!”
Meanwhile, could this be the next revelation that will blindside Biden’s media sycophants? That those “six more classified documents” they found were actually “six items consisting of documents with classification markings and surrounding materials,” which could be an evasive legalese way of saying “six files filled with hundreds of documents”?

5. Harris rallies for abortion in Florida

Vice President Kamala Harris was in Florida for a rally on the 50th anniversary of the (thankfully) now-overturned Roe v. Wade decision. As is often the case, her speech sparked major backlash, but this time not as much for what she said as what she left out.
Speaking to a pro-abortion crowd, Harris tried to imply that abortion was a fundamental right guaranteed to us by the Founders (I almost said “Founding Fathers,” but I’m sure she wouldn’t have said that.) Harris declared, “We collectively believe and know, America is a promise…It is a promise of freedom and liberty. Not just some, but for all. A promise we made in the Declaration of Independence, that we are each endowed with the right to liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Be clear, these rights were not bestowed upon us, they belong to us as Americans."
Okay, did you notice something missing? The Declaration of Independence says that we are
endowed by our Creator “with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” Yep, she skipped over the “right to life” part. I notice she also didn’t mention that the Founders obviously believed in God, which to me implies that they probably would not have been on board with killing babies.
I’d suggest that she actually read the Declaration of Independence, not only to learn that God grants each person an unalienable right to life, but also to read a little farther down, about how governments derive their powers from the consent of the governed, and when they become destructive of these ends, the people have the right to alter or abolish them and institute new governments. Certain people in Washington who are a bit too enamored with globalism, China, and monitoring and censoring the people’s freedom of speech could use a refresher course in that part.
Also marking the 50th anniversary of Roe v. Wade were pro-abortion protesters who once again gathered outside the private home of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
They were just as unconcerned about the fact that that’s a violation of federal law as the Biden DOJ is.
I’m sure many of them are passionate believers in various abortion lobby falsehoods, one of the most recent of which was that if Roe was overturned, countless women would die. Jack Hellner at the American Thinker did some research to find out how many women had died because of that, but came up empty.
He did, however, unearth some horrifying statistics about how many people had died because of the crush of illegal immigration after Biden opened the border, all the people who’ve died from drugs like fentanyl pouring over the border, and all the young people who’ve committed suicide from depression sparked by school closures and lockdowns.
And here’s a story about a woman who really did die: 20-year-old Kayla Marie Hamilton of Maryland, who was allegedly murdered by a 17-year-old illegal alien MS-13 gang member from El Salvador who was released into the US by Biden’s DHS as an “unaccompanied alien child.”
Those are a lot of real deaths, many of them women. But I guess the left doesn’t care about those, since they were just collateral damage of their own policies.
6. Leftists sprain ankles leaping to conclusions
This is a roundup of tweets claiming the shooting in California, which was a domestic violence incident by an Asian-American, was an anti-Asian, white supremacist hate crime inspired by Trump and the NRA. Idiots.
