Wednesday, a House Judiciary subcommittee held a hearing into the huge push to give “gender-affirming” drugs and surgery to minors, even over parents’ objections and without their knowledge. Victims who’ve been irreparably harmed by this politically-motivated child abuse finally got a public forum to tell their heartbreaking stories.
Witnesses included 19-year-old detransitioner Chloe Cole, who was given a double mastectomy at 15. She said that her childhood, and that of thousands of others, was ruined by this “barbaric pseudoscience” that “needs to stop.” She said her body has been permanently altered, she has masculinized features, joint pain, immense scars, hot flashes, unknown fertility, and “I look in the mirror sometimes, and I feel like a monster.”
Cole said, “I didn't need to be lied to. I needed compassion. I needed to be loved. I needed to be getting therapy to help me work through my issues. Not affirmed to my delusion that by transforming into a boy, it would solve all my problems…”
"We need to stop telling 12-year-olds that they were born wrong, that they are right to reject their own bodies and feel uncomfortable with their own skin. We need to stop telling children that puberty is an option. That they can choose what kind of puberty they will go through just like they can choose what clothes to wear or music to listen to. Puberty is a rite of passage to adulthood, not a disease to be mitigated.”
A different type of victim of this cultural madness was witness Paula Scanlon, a former UPenn swimmer who had to share a locker room with “Lia” Thomas, the biologically male “trans” “female” swimming champion. She told how school officials told them that having Thomas on the team and in their showers was “non-negotiable,” and if they objected, then they were the problem and would be offered psychological services “to reeducate us to become comfortable with the idea of undressing in front of a male.” She said this was especially traumatic for women like her who had been victims of sexual assault.
She also said their freedom of speech was taken away (she wrote an op-ed on these issues for the student paper that was retracted without her knowledge.) Scanlon said, “Today, any discussion maintaining the sanctity of women's spaces is labeled transphobic, bigoted and hateful. What's bigoted and hateful is discrimination against women and the efforts to erase women and our equal opportunities, dignity and safe spaces."
Dr. Jennifer Bauwens of the Family Research Council has treated many kids with gender dysphoria, and she testified how “progressive” political activists have hijacked medicine to the point that out of 245 accepted treatments for depression, only one is allowed for depression related to gender confusion: change who you are. She later gave Fox News’ Laura Ingraham the best description I’ve heard so far of this psychotic epidemic of child abuse:
Gender dysphoria is a psychological condition that’s been turned into a human right.

Shame on the media outlets that refused to air or report on this hearing. And a big salute to these brave women for daring to speak truth to power, especially considering the threats of violence women have faced for opposing this alleged “marginalized” group that seems to be running our institutions and crushing anyone who gets in their way.
