A puppet version of Obama 2.0
Since the moment he emerged on the national scene, Barack Obama has been treated by the media as almost a religious figure (remember Oprah dubbing him “the Light Bringer?”) Any criticism of him was deemed blasphemy and banned from liberal media outlets. So when a critical biography called “Rising Star: The Making of Barack Obama” appeared in 2017, it got virtually no notice.
But now, suddenly, it’s in the news after the Jewish magazine Tablet ran a lengthy feature spotlighting some of its more startling passages and interviewing the author. They felt this was timely because Obama’s election was touted as the solution to so many problems and to bringing Americans together; but instead, many of the problems tearing the nation apart today – racial divisions, anti-American policies, politicizing and weaponizing the federal bureaucracy – either started or worsened under Obama.
I’m not going to repeat some of the more salacious claims, but there’s a lot here that’s definitely worth reading, particularly in light of rumors that the Biden reign of error is really just a puppet version of Obama 2.0.

Democrat Reps are sent back to Tennessee legislature
Black Tennessee Democrat Reps. Justin Jones and Justin Rearson were expelled from the legislature after they joined in with a mob of transgender and gun control activists and helped whip up the crowd to disrupt a legislative session. Or as Democrats call that when anyone else does it, “an insurrection” that "obstructs official business." And how did the Democratic Party and its media handmaidens treat them? They were hailed as heroes, welcomed onto liberal news channels and showered with money from out-of-state donors as they wailed about being victims.
And now, they’ve been sent back to the legislature by local voters. Liberal outlets are calling this a harbinger for more Democrat victories to come, but I suspect it’s more just a result of identity politics and gerrymandering.
I suggest that you remember this story whenever you hear Democrats bleating on about January 6th as being worse than Pearl Harbor or 9/11, and how it was an “insurrection” and an “assault on our democracy” for which everyone involved, including Donald Trump (who actually wasn’t involved) must go to prison for a gajillion years. Remember that if it's their people doing it, they reelect them.
A second opinion on electric cars
I’ve been bringing you warnings about electric cars for quite a while, and yesterday, I linked to several articles about the dangers of lithium ion battery fires – not just that they can catch on fire, but the uniquely dangerous and inextinguishable way in which they ignite and burn. But some of you might be thinking that I’m no automotive expert, which is true – however, I pay attention to real automotive experts and don’t take my advice on which car to drive from politicians who’ve been warming a chair in Washington for half a century and think they know how to run the car industry better than people who actually do it.
So just to offer a second opinion, here’s an article about electric cars and their fire risks by Jeremy Clarkson, host of the popular car shows “Top Gear” and “The Grand Tour.”

Here’s a sample: “For years I’ve told people until I’m blue in the face that electric cars don’t have enough range, that they take far too long to charge up, that they will always be too expensive and that they aren’t even very environmental. Happily, people are now starting to listen, so it’s time to move the argument along a bit with this: Electric cars are also bloody dangerous.”
He goes on to talk about the rising number of EV fires, including an EV battery on “The Grand Tour” that burned for days then flared up again and burned for weeks. He adds, “And it’s not just cars. A safety charity announced this week that e-bikes have caused hundreds of catastrophic house fires. People have died, and that’s not surprising when you learn that a fully charged e-bike contains the same explosive energy as six hand grenades.”
It's starting to appear obvious that Americans are greatly underestimating the damage that can be caused by electric cars, just like they greatly underestimated the damage that could be caused by electing the guy who’s trying to force us all to buy one.

Silencing the opposition
As they say, whenever leftists achieve power, one of the first things they try to do is silence their opposition. If the war on conservatives on social media and the endless indictments of Donald Trump haven’t provided enough proof, then try this: Far-left Senators and noted climate science experts Bernie Sanders, Jeffrey Merkley, Ed Markey and Elizabeth Warren wrote a letter to “Attorney General” Merrick Garland, urging him to sue fossil fuel companies for allegedly spreading “misinformation” by challenging their apocalyptic manmade climate change claims. And if you think they’ll stop their assault on free speech with the fossil fuel companies, I envy how little you know about these people.

Conversation starters
I always urge my readers not to put too much stock in polls, especially polls taken over a year before an election. But a couple of new polls are interesting, even just as conversation starters.
For instance, while Jack Smith is trying to railroad former President Trump into prison for 500 years based on his claim that Trump knew the 2020 election wasn’t rigged when he was challenging it, a new CNN poll finds that Trump was hardly the only person who didn’t believe that election was on the up and up. Democrats and the media (but I repeat myself) have dubbed any suspicions of Biden’s victory “The Big Lie,” but just saying that isn’t enough. About a third of Americans still believe there was widespread vote fraud and Biden’s election was illegitimate, and that includes 69% of Republicans and Republican-leaning voters.
Surprisingly, that 69% is actually up from 63% earlier this year. The more the Democrats insist there was no fraud, the fewer people believe them. Maybe it was the way they loosened all the voting laws, or kicked all the GOP poll watchers out and covered the windows with cardboard, or fought like badgers against any election integrity laws or investigations of the 2020 or 2022 elections (“Methinks thou dost protest too much.”) Or maybe it’s just that the more they see of Biden’s presidency, the harder it is to believe than anyone actually voted for that.
Also, if you believe a new ABC poll, the 2024 presidential election might somehow end up as a battle between the two least popular candidates. That poll found that 52% of respondents think Trump should have been charged with crimes, while only 32% disagree (I wonder how many of them could actually say what those alleged crimes are, and how many are just repeating what they hear 24/7 from the media?) Meanwhile, Trump has a 30% favorable and 59% unfavorable rating, while Biden has a 52% unfavorable and 33% favorable rating.
I find it interesting that while Trump has been constantly reviled in the media for years and repeatedly slammed with bogus legal charges while social media sites silenced him from defending himself, Biden has had the slavish support of the media and the bully pulpit of the White House – yet Biden’s favorable rating is only 3% higher than Trump’s, which is within the margin of error. Sounds like Americans have figured out that "The Big Lie" is that Bidenomics works.
If Trump and Biden are the two candidates, how do you think that would play out in the general election? Would the hatred of Trump that’s been drilled into the public result in huge turnout that would actually reelect the disastrous Biden? Or would the combination of outraged Republicans and people who are finally starting to wake up to the Democrats’ incompetence and malevolence be enough to elect Trump?
Or should I say, “Would that be enough to overcome the margin of fraud?”
The anti-Trump movement looks at themselves
I had this story earlier this week but figured nobody would care much about what a New York Times editorialist had to say. But this one seems to have exploded in conservative media, maybe because it’s so rare for a New York Times liberal (well, David Brooks is considered a “conservative” at the Times, which means “liberal but not outright communist”) to show any self-awareness of the failings of leftist elites. But Brooks actually does (sort of) in a column called “What If We’re The Bad Guys Here?” (Spoiler alert: you are.) I’ll link to a site where you can read it without having to register with the New York Times.

And this is a sharp and funny commentary on it by Lincoln Brown at PJ Media.
It’s always fascinating to me how people who see themselves as intellectuals can be so dense that they think Trump is a disease that must be eradicated but have yet to figure out that they’re the disease and Trump is just a symptom. If they hadn’t infuriated working Americans with their failed policies, unwarranted arrogance, endless wars they expect our kids to fight for them, and useless legacy degrees from Ivy League brainwashing centers, the voters wouldn’t have needed someone like Trump to champion them in Washington.
It's taken this long for just one of these brainiacs to grasp something that I tried to warn them about before Trump even entered politics in my book, “God, Guns, Grits and Gravy,” and that was the growing disconnect between the elite media/political classes sipping Chardonnay in their echo chambers and working people suffering under their reality-denying policies. Years before that, my 2008 presidential campaign was founded on sounding an alarm that working people were hurting while white collar elites thought everything was peachy as long as they had their corner offices and golden parachutes. I was attacked from both sides because the elites didn’t want to hear that truth, not even the ones from my own party. Maybe they’ve got the message now.
While Brooks’ epiphany that maybe it’s the smug, wealthy, dictatorial and condescending liberal class that’s actually the problem is refreshing, it’s a shame that he inadvertently reveals that he still doesn’t really get it. He writes:
“It’s easy to understand why people in less-educated classes would conclude that they are under economic, political, cultural and moral assault — and why they’ve rallied around Trump as their best warrior against the educated class.”
Ahem…excuse me, but calling people who disagree with you the “less-educated classes” and your clique “the educated class” is, as your "class" says, "problematic." We “less-educated” folks long ago figured out that having an Ivy League degree no longer means that someone has enough sense to come in out of the rain. In terms of who is smarter or better educated in the real sense, I would take any farmer over any Harvard political science professor any day.
Want a concrete example? Mike Bloomberg has a degree from Harvard and he said this while running for President: "I could teach anybody — even people in this room, no offense intended — to be a farmer. It's a [process]: you dig a hole, you put a seed in, you put dirt on top, add water, up comes the corn." He added that it takes “more gray matter” to have a tech job.
And he didn’t realize what that would do to his presidential campaign? That alone is proof that he has far less gray matter than your average farmer.
Brooks also wrote this without seeing the inherent irony:
“Are Trump supporters right that the indictments are just a political witch hunt? Of course not. As a card-carrying member of my class, I still basically trust the legal system and the neutral arbiters of justice. Trump is a monster in the way we’ve all been saying for years and deserves to go to prison.”
He claims to be smart, but he thinks the Biden DOJ is a neutral arbiter of justice? Worse, he lives in New York City and he trusts the legal system? Prove it: ride the subway to work.
Finally, there’s this sentence:
“Trump understood that there was great demand for a leader who would stick his thumb in our eyes on a daily basis and reject the whole epistemic regime that we road in on.”
Agreed, but if you’ll pardon this humble note from a “less-educated” Trump voter: It’s “rode,” not “road.” Maybe the Times needs to hire some proofreaders who went to a state university where they still teach correct spelling.
Test question
A lot of people have long clamored for President Biden to take a cognitive test. I'd like to see if he’s capable of connecting just two dots, between (1.) his policies, like reducing the oil supply…
