The open border/illegal immigrant crisis deliberately caused by Joe Biden (who, of course, blames it on Republicans) has become the #1 issue in the 2024 election, and over the weekend, that burning fire had kerosene poured on it. It was caused by news of the arrest of a suspect in the murder of Laken Hope Riley, the 22-year-old Augusta University nursing student who disappeared while jogging. Her body was later found in the woods.

The suspect is an illegal alien from Venezuela. He was caught entering the US illegally in 2022, but thanks to Biden’s catch-and-release policy, he was let go inside the US instead of being sent back. He later was arrested in Queens, New York, for injuring a child and should have been deported. But thanks to the liberal “sanctuary city” policy, he was released from jail instead of being turned over to ICE for deportation.

He's now facing a number of charges, including kidnapping and murder, none of which would have happened if he’d never been allowed here in the first place or thrown out once he got here, or deported after being arrested. You can multiply this story many times, and you’ll understand why Democrat Sen. Chris Murphy of Connecticut told MSNBC that his party “has failed to deliver for the people we care about most, the undocumented Americans that are in this country."

Frankly, I’m so sad and furious about the needless, violent death of this innocent young woman, I can hardly express it. I think many other Americans feel the same way. So I’m going to link to Derek Hunter’s column at Townhall.com, where he says it very well in tearing apart the phony claims of the Democrats that they’re the party of compassion when all they care about is power. As Hunter brutally but accurately puts it:

“Democrats all have her blood on their hands, and none are more soaked than Joe Biden and Alejandro Mayorkas, and they couldn’t care less if you paid them to try.”
