The House committees conducting investigations have had enough from Democrats who say they want transparency and justice but are doing everything in their power to muck up the process.
As you know, Hunter Biden, when first rejecting the idea of a behind-closed-doors hearing with the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, said he wanted the chance to go public with his story. In his little sidewalk circus outside the hearing room, Hunter said, “I am here to testify at a public hearing today, to answer of the committee’s legitimate questions. Republicans do not want an open process where Americans can see their tactics, expose their baseless inquiry, or hear what I have to say. What are they afraid of? I’m here. I’m ready.”
So, what changed? Was he ready then, but not now? Actually, Republicans very much DID want an open process; they had simply wanted the open hearing to be preceded by closed-door questioning, as is traditionally the case for everyone except wayward sons of Democrat Presidents. Now that Hunter has the opportunity to expose the Republicans’ “baseless inquiry” this Wednesday, in the very “open process” he claimed to want, his attorney Abbe Lowell says it won’t be happening. “Your blatant planned-for-media event is not a proper proceeding but an obvious attempt to throw a Hail Mary pass after the game has ended...Mr. Biden declines your invitation to this carnival side show.”
It’s a side show all right, but he and his client are it. And who says the game has ended? Is Abbe Lowell the official timekeeper?
The committee will still have the hearing, with former Hunter business partner Tony Bobulinski re-appearing. He has a message for the son of the Vice President: “Now is the time to step up, Hunter, as you have said you want to do. Don’t cower in the face of accountability and in the fight for truth and democracy!”
As Oversight Chairman James Comer of Kentucky said to FOX NEWS’ Maria Bartiromo on Sunday, “I think we’re at the point in the investigation where we need to hear [about] the [massive] discrepancies...between what three of Hunter Biden’s business associates said pertaining to Hunter’s involvement and...President Biden’s involvement vs. what Hunter testified.”
“...The media grilled ME,” Comer said, “[and] accused me of not wanting to have a public hearing. We WANT the public hearing; we actually need the public hearing...We want to iron out the discrepancies, because somebody lied to Congress in their interviews and depositions. Either it was the three business partners, or it was Hunter Biden.”
He said he’s “99.99 percent sure” who it was, but the committee is giving Hunter an opportunity to come in and clarify. For all they know, he said, Hunter will actually show up, just as he showed up before for a lame publicity stunt, producer/benefactor Kevin Morris and camera crew in tow, when he didn’t have an invitation to come in that day.
“I fully expect Hunter Biden to show up,” Comer said. “If he does not show up, then it’s not gonna end well for the Bidens.” That’s because they already have three witnesses who have given sworn testimony telling “significantly different stories” about what the Biden influence-peddling schemes were. And that’s in addition to the mountain of incriminating financial reports they’re examined, which show not even one legitimate business the Bidens ran to bring in all that money --- only influence peddling based on the Biden name.
“This is very serious,” Comer said, “because we’re at the point of criminal referrals.”
As you know, the White House wants the investigation into Biden bribery shut down immediately, simply because one witness, Alexander Smirnov, was (surprise) arrested by the FBI for (surprise) working with the Russians. Never mind all the other evidence. That story is not playing well, except perhaps with those who get their news from TikTok and MSNBC. Comer’s certainly not buying it.

Comer’s not the only committee chair who’s talking about criminal referrals. Georgia Rep. Barry Loudermilk, who chairs the House Administration Subcommittee on Oversight, has been focusing his committee’s attention on Nancy Pelosi’s hand-picked January 6 “Kangaroo Kommittee” and its sham investigation, as well as the still-mysterious DNC and RNC pipe bomb “discoveries” that day. Loudermilk is actually talking about holding people accountable. Liz Cheney and other former committee members may be referred for obstruction of justice for hiding key information.
Kash Patel, also appearing Sunday with Maria Bartiromo, said that “just like the FBI and the DNC in Russiagate, who lied and withheld evidence of innocence to a federal judge to unlawfully surveil Donald Trump, Liz Cheney and Cassidy Hutchinson have been caught doing the same thing.” Patel and others have been saying for three years that President Trump made 10,000+ National Guard troops available prior to January 6, and “the one transcript from Tony Ornato, a career Secret Service officer who testified two years ago corroborating all of that information...was worm-holed by Liz Cheney.”
Patel said that “the lies that she and Cassidy Hutchinson produced are the ‘Steele dossier’ of January 6, and they used the same modus operandi to deprive the American people of the truth.” He called for “serious congressional action.” And since Liz Cheney is no longer in Congress (hallelujah), “somebody should be subpoenaing her tomorrow to ask her what other information of innocence she withheld,” because this is the evidence that exonerates Trump.
RELATED: Speaking of Rep. Loudermilk, he spoke with Glenn Beck last Wednesday and happened to echo our worst suspicions that the FBI’s arrest of BLAZE MEDIA’s Steve Baker was likely ordered because “he’s onto something” the feds want to keep secret. Baker has been trying to uncover the real story behind the January 6 pipe bomb “discoveries” at the DNC and RNC in light of hours of outdoor surveillance video that show behavior very much at odds with the administration’s narrative.
In fact, the only way we can think of to explain what’s on this video is that the bombs were NOT planted the night before as the DOJ says --- there’s just no way --- but were dropped shortly before their “chance discovery” in an operation designed to frame Trump supporters for domestic terrorism and also, if necessary, put a stop to any election challenge that might have been brought by Republicans in Congress once certification started. (Certainly, the so-called “insurrection” itself might have been manufactured, or at least helped along, for the same reasons.)
As Beck mentioned and we reported last week, House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan opened an investigation into the “Justice” Department’s arrest of Baker on March 1 and sent a letter to U.S. Attorney Matthew Graves demanding all relevant documents and internal communications. Of course, the FBI will probably just say they can’t reveal anything about an ongoing investigation --- they’ll go to that well as long as there’s a drop of water --- but Loudermilk suggested there’s another reason they did this: so “certain information that [Baker] was working on can’t be...provided to Congress. They’re wanting to keep it under wraps.”
Jordan said that the way the federal government is treating Baker is “a red flag to me” that “he’s onto something.” (Just wondering, unless there’s a gag order on Baker and he’s not in custody, wouldn’t he still be working to solve this mystery and get his conclusions to THE BLAZE?)

Baker talked with BLAZE NEWS after watching the Beck-Loudermilk interview. He says he’s currently working on features about former U.S. Capitol Police officer Harry Dunn and Special Agent David Lazarus. He also cited the new story from Judicial Watch about CIA assets deployed on January 6 --- the one we reported on last week about CIA (!) bomb techs and dog teams being called out there that day --- that “intersects” with a story he’s been trying for three years to put together. If anything we know so far is touching on the “THE STORY” they don’t want us to know, that’s likely it. As Loudermilk said, “You catch the most incoming when you’re over the target.”
Much more detail here.

Rep. Loudermilk warned last week that members of the January 6 committee might face criminal charges over allegations of lying and destroying documents. Active members of Congress, he said, have “certain protections,” but he noted that some of these individuals, such as Liz Cheney, are no longer in Congress. (He’s getting information that “Liz Cheney [not Bennie Thompson] ran the committee.”) We’re in “uncharted territory right now,” he said. Here’s what he told John Solomon at JUST THE NEWS…
And in an UPDATE to the CIA/Jan. 6 story, other news outlets (at least conservative-leaning ones) are picking up on it, and former Director of Intelligence Mike Flynn --- who has experienced firsthand the intel community’s abuse of power --- has had enough and is speaking out forcefully, posting this on X:
“Speaker Johnson should immediately shut down all funding of the CIA and FBI and subpoena a whole bunch of people from those agencies as well as all members of the former phony J6 un-select committee and bring them in under the lights. If they refuse, shut all government funding down until they do. We are so out of control as a nation, we’re no longer on the rails, we’re sliding down head first into a raging fire. GOP NEEDS TO GET A BACKBONE!”
Thank you, Mike Flynn. You speak for millions of us out here, wondering how bad it has to get before something is done.
