So, what if you worked at the FBI and you got a memo from DOGE asking for five things you did this week? Depending on what office of the FBI you were working at, one of your bullet points might have looked something like this:

--- Destroyed evidence of wrongdoing that still existed on servers.

This is according to investigative reporter Michael Shellenberger (primo source), who’s had it confirmed by FBI whistleblower Garrett O’Boyle that this is currently going on at the Bureau. O’Boyle, identified by name from his previous congressional testimony about Biden’s weaponized FBI, told Shellenberger that he’s also informed Director Kash Patel of the evidence destruction. It’s in a post from Shellenberger on X from Thursday…

As Mike McDaniel at AMERICAN THINKER writes, “Journalist Michael Shellenberger has exposed so much corruption over the past several years, we’ve learned that when he drops a bomb in Twitter, it’s usually worth paying attention to and it is usually HUGE.” (Examples: the Twitter Files, the USAID slush fund.)

“This [FBI] news is early in development,” McDaniel says, “and [Shellenberger] has written only briefly about it so far, but it sounds like he --- and a noted FBI whistleblower --- have some interesting and incriminating things to say to Attorney General Pam Bondi, FBI Director Kash Patel, and Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino.”

Shellenberger posted about this after a conversation between Charlie Kirk and Florida Rep. Anna Paulina Luna about corruption at the CIA and NSA. (You already know the sick story about the abuse of the NSA’s internal message system to create a secret chatroom for discussions of sexual kinks and trans surgery.) Rep. Luna had posted, “There is a massive war happening in the intelligence agencies right now. The corruption being exposed right now is actual treason…”

One observation from McDaniel particularly echoed our report this week about CNN’s story on possible treason by disgruntled intel employees: “The FBI is a primary agency charged with defending national security, and our enemies offer many temptations for those willing to betray America beyond the perks and power of being an American Stasi.”

If the FBI is infected by people like this, McDaniel says, “only massive arrests and prosecutions of every one of those who have betrayed American can have any hope of deterring future offenses.” Thankfully, AG Bondi does seem up for that. She has already had enough.

Those FBI officials know --- better than most people, in fact --- that someone who destroys evidence of a crime becomes an accessory to that crime. This can also lead to charges of conspiracy, if they were even just communicating with others about doing this, and even, yes, treason.

Shellenberger added that he hoped Patel, Bondi, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, Elon Musk and Rep. Luna are stopping this. “We urgently need disclosure,” he said, adding that he hoped Trump, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem “are alert to any insider threats that could be destroying evidence that belongs to the American people. Don’t let abusers of power cover up their tracks!”

Speaking of the FBI withholding and destroying evidence, the Epstein files that were supposed to be released on Thursday turned out to be heavily-redacted documents that had mostly already leaked. AG Bondi finally wrote a letter to Director Patel expressing frustration with the Southern District of New York field office over their stunning lack of cooperation. As BLAZE MEDIA reports, Bondi told Patel that the FBI has buried “thousands” of files, refusing to turn them over to the Trump administration.

“Before you came into office,” she wrote to Patel on Thursday, “I requested the full and complete files related to Jeffrey Epstein.” What she got back from the FBI, she said, was only about 200 pages of documents, primarily “flight logs, Epstein’s list of contacts, and a list of victims’ names and phone numbers” (a list that, of course, will NOT be released). In a post on X, Rep. Luna expressed “complete disappointment” with this initial release of information, but surely, she isn’t surprised. Still, she made herself clear: “GET US THE INFORMATION WE ASKED FOR!”

The FBI had assured Bondi that this was all they had, she told Patel. But then a source informed her that there is much more. Once she (or Patel?) informed the New York office that she knew of these files’ existence, they finally agreed to hand them over by 8AM Friday.

(However, their public release may still be held up indefinitely, due to Epstein accomplice Ghislane Maxwell’s appeal of her conviction to the Supreme Court.)

Patel posted on X that this is “a new era” for the FBI, “...one that will be defined by integrity, accountability, and the unwavering pursuit of justice. There will be no cover-ups, no missing documents, and no stone left unturned --- and anyone from the prior or current Bureau who undermines this will be swiftly pursued. If there are gaps, we will find them; if there are records, we will uncover them. And we will bring everything we find to the DOJ to be fully assessed and transparently disseminated to the American people as it should be. The oath we take is to the Constitution, and under my leadership, that promise will be upheld without compromise.”

What a shame that some at the FBI are apparently fighting tooth-and-nail against this. It occurs to us that Patel’s approach is well summarized by incoming Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino’s expression, “Cutesy time is over.”

As for the names that turn up on flight logs, etc., please keep in mind that this is not any evidence of wrongdoing. Even President Trump’s name appears in Epstein’s contact list, and that should surprise no one because it’s already been mentioned in court documents. In itself, it means nothing. Some in Epstein’s contact list are quite benign; think Chris Cuomo’s wife and Morgan Fairchild.

Reporters say to keep expectations low, as there’s probably not going to be much that’s shocking or even new in the Epstein files. But the content of the files isn’t the point of this story. The important thing right now is that FBI officials have been given a wake-up call. When Trump’s AG, or their own director, instructs them to turn over information, they had better do it and FAST. Trump is the President. If they undermine his administration, they are out. If they destroy evidence, they are criminally prosecuted.

And if they think they’ve already managed to destroy incriminating electronic communications, that might be something else Musk’s people can help the Trump administration with. It might be quite surprising what his computer geniuses can dig up, BleachBit or no.

The story on Epstein’s files has repeatedly changed this week, and by the time you read this, it probably will have changed again. So expect a full report on Monday, after we’ve had the chance to sort it all out.

For now, here’s Sean Hannity’s discussion with FOX NEWS analyst Gregg Jarrett and civil rights criminal defense attorney David Schoen (who represented Epstein shortly before he died). Jarrett says the FBI’s defiance of Bondi’s order to turn over documents, and even lying to her about their existence, “could be criminal.” He advises those involved that they’d “better be on the phone tonight, to good criminal defense attorneys, because willfully concealing documents from the attorney general, misrepresenting the truth, looks very much like obstruction of a federal agency...So lawyer-up, boys and girls.” Don’t miss...
