After I said that if we formed a third party we’d never, ever win another presidential election, EVER, I received quite a few letters from readers who think differently. Here’s a typical one...

From Stephen R:

You say that you’re against a third party and that we’d never again win an election if that happens. I totally disagree! If we abandon the Republican Party in major numbers with the right candidate, I think we’d stand a better chance rather than having the same old s*** on the menu!

What chance will the Republicans have when most of us are totally fed up with the crap that we’ve listened to for years and nothing changing (excluding President Trump)! The rest of them are just filling a seat and going along with the Democrat BS! They talk a good line when in front of the cameras, but go along with the Dems behind closed doors and to hell with their constituents! What good will the Republican Party be when 2/3 of us will not vote for another Republican candidate? I’ll vote Democrat just to remove these spineless cowards that are in office trying to say that they have our backs!!! I’m done!!!!

From the Gov:

Thanks for writing, Stephen. Obviously, our party has reached a crossroads, and it’s critically important how we decide to go forward from this point. But if I may offer some “famous last words,” I can think of none more appropriate than what you just said: “I’ll vote Democrat just to remove these spineless cowards...”

Vote Democrat? With all due respect, Stephen, I have six words for you:

Are you out of your mind?

The reason we have such a disaster in the U.S. Senate now is that Georgia Republicans, fed up by the Nov. 3 outcome, refused to vote Republican, staying home on the day of the senatorial run-off elections and giving their state two of the most radical left-wing senators ever to be on the ballot, and that’s saying something. We know now that if they had come out for the Republican candidates in numbers comparable to their November 3 turnout, they would have kept the Senate out of the hands of radical leftists. Gosh, I hope all those fed-up conservative Georgia voters are happy now.

Let’s do some basic math. Right now, the two major parties, in terms of numbers, are pretty evenly split. If the 2/3 of Republicans who, as you say, are thoroughly fed up and refuse to vote for another Republican DO vote for a third party candidate instead, that will give the third party candidate a whopping 2/3 of what the anti-Democrat vote would have been otherwise. The Republican gets the other 1/3. These two parties will split about half the total vote.

But the Democrats get almost all of the other half, which means they WIN, as all they need is a plurality. Obviously, 1/3 of the Republican vote isn’t going to get us squat. But even 2/3 of that vote isn’t going to get us squat, either. One thing about Democrats: they do stick together. And if they stick together and we fragment, with no more than 2/3 of our vote going to any one candidate, guess which party wins?

That’s right, the Democrats, every time. Go to the head of the class.

When Democrat Party candidate Bill Clinton won in 1992, he got a whopping 43 percent of the popular vote. The other two major candidates, Republican incumbent George H. W. Bush and Independent Party candidate and Texas billionaire H. Ross Perot, essentially split the rest; that “giant sucking sound” you heard was Perot sucking up 19 percent of the vote (the most a third party candidate has ever received, but it translated into ZERO electoral votes). So victory went to Clinton, the Democrat. Some analysts said that Clinton would’ve beaten Bush anyway, but we don’t know about that. A huge number of conservative Republicans rejected a second Bush term and voted for Perot, giving us the Democrats.

Let’s go farther back in history, to when former President Teddy Roosevelt tried a comeback with a third party, the Bull Moose Party. In 1912, a group of Republicans dissatisfied with President William Howard Taft formed the Bull Moose Party specifically for TR to run again. (He supposedly had said he was “fit as a bull moose” to run again.) The Bull Moose Party was “progressive” for the time and favored such new-fangled ideas as women’s suffrage, direct election of U.S. senators, and various social reforms. Roosevelt ran on what he called the “Square Deal,” based on fair business competition and more welfare programs for the needy.

Anyway, his candidacy divided the Republican Party, and Democrat Woodrow Wilson easily won. Would you like to hear about Woodrow Wilson and his administration? That’s a topic for another day, but for now let’s just say it would have been much better if TR hadn’t divided the Republican Party and let Wilson and his pals glide into the Oval Office.

Things the left would love to see from us:

1) An uprising. In fact, the Capitol breach played into their hands so well that if it hadn’t happened, they would have had to create it; make of that statement what you will. The Capitol incident gave the left all the excuse they needed to label every one of us a “domestic terrorist” and start taking our rights away. As frustrated as you might be, DO NOT give them any more reason to do that. Believe me, they are just waiting for this.

2) A third party. The left would LOVE this. Aside from the reasons mentioned above, a third party is not going to have the “ground game” of the well-oiled machine that is the Democrat Party. All this will do is split the Republican Party vote and ensure Democrat victories time after time. I know many of you don’t want to hear this, but it’s the hard truth.

3) Giving up. Some conservatives are now saying the fight is over and we have lost. Why bother voting if the elections are rigged? Why bother tweeting if you’ll just be banned? Just stay home and wait for the end. But this would be a gift to the left. When you give up, they push even harder.

We have to fix our party, from the inside. We do have a few outstanding incumbents, but for the RINOS, we have to find solid, articulate conservative candidates for primary challenges. That’s what the “progressives” in the Democrat Party did, through organizations such as Justice Democrats, the group that recruited AOC. Democrats organize like mad, and if they aren’t satisfied with their incumbents, they challenge them. This is what we’re going to have to do with our own who fail to represent our views and values. Perhaps Trump could help with this. We must go into every race with the strongest ticket we can find, work like our freedom depends on it (because it does) and be assertive poll watchers!

But, again, the worst thing conservatives can do is split off and form a third party. Don’t even think about it!

I literally love you, Governor. But, I disagree, with all due respect, to your stance on this subject. The (R) party has failed us, again and again, by refusing to stand for conservative principles. I have worked for years with the Conservative Voters group in my county, am a Precinct Chairman (R) in my home town, and have helped get a State level Senator and Representative that actually represent our views to the Senate/House here in Oklahoma. The (R) party has sidelined them, blocked them at every turn, vilified them, and actually worked with the (D) party to ensure they could not succeed. I can't tell the difference any more between the (R) power structure in OKC and the (D) power structure, they are both working their hardest to ensure that truly conservative values cannot be allowed to succeed.
I for one am done with the (R) shenanigans. Perhaps if they realize that without US, conservatives, they are doomed to failure, they could hear us again. As it is, they provide lip service but behind the scenes the (R) power structure makes sure we are sidelined. Conservative Patriot party NOW.

Mike you are absolutely right. To win an election the party must stick together. As crazy as the democrats are, they come together to vote for whichever one is running against the Republican.

Gov. Huckabee: I don't believe the problem with the election was that Republicans just didn't get out and vote! Too much evidence to prove theft. Do you recall the tubs of Republican ballots in dumpsters, military votes thrown in creeks, millions of votes changed, on and on votes found thrown out and what a surprise, all Republican! There was corruption so deep and no court would review and confirm all the evidence that was readily out there.
ABSOLUTELY NO WAY THAT A CANDIDATE with millions of supporters and then one who couldn't round up 20 to his rallies or gatherings could legitimately win. I have seen one Biden bumper sticker in the past year and no signs or any other Biden support, yet millions of signs, Banners, flags, car decals, billboards, etc. for President Trump. I have traveled approximately 2000 miles east, west and north of my home in the past two years. When you say Trump supporters/Republicans just didn't vote, that really riles me, because we were there in full force. The Democrats lied, cheated and stole and we will never be able to have our voice heard in a legitimate election. Democrats seem to have learned all the crooked ways to cover it up. Why is crooks like Obama, who cheated and Hilary who is a crook and all the others who have been paid off just been given a get out of jail card permanently. I think the swamp is deeper than anyone could have imagined. I was a Huckabee supporter every time you ran, from the time I lived in Arkansas and you were my governor. Open your eyes governor and don't believe for a second the presidential or any election since was legitimate. We true Americans do not!

I have always been against splitting the vote, but after the election, I figured we would never win another election anyway, because the Dems would just keep cheating and stealing all future elections since they got away with it this time. I thought I might as well follow Trump in the new Patriot party he talked about for a while, because what difference would it make? Either way, we were going to lose. Then Trump said he was not going to start a new party. At any rate, I think this shows that the most important issue is to insure the integrity of future elections somehow so that Republicans have hope that their votes will count again. In the meantime, since so many of us are disgusted with the establishment Republicans, maybe we could rename the Republican Party to something like "The Constitutional Party" or "The Conservative party", or some other name that better expresses our philosophy and doesn't have the baggage of the Republican moniker.

I must be more negative and much less hopeful than the rest of the people. We are presently living under a Communist regime via Biden’s relationship with the CCP. There will only be rigged elections or no elections at all. I believe that we are close to entering Revelation 13 and the final years before Jesus Christ returns. My hope is in Jesus’ return rather than ever having another election.

I think it is to late for the gop, they run their mouth and have nothing to back it up. Despite your logic and comparisons to the past, people are done with it. Done with mitt romneys, liz cheney and idiots like mitch mconnell. We need to forget term limits and install age limits.

11 REPUBLICANS (RINOS voted with Democrats thus proving that they are helping dems accomplish their goals.

When are Republican representatives gonna learn.

    Mike
What you just said is very rational from old Republican view point. With all due respect Sir, I ask the question ,How has that worked out out so far? Conservatives were sick and tired of the old GOP when they choose Trump in '16 primary's. We , I include my self, were so sick of the establishment, we would vote for anyone who win and try and make changes, and Trump did do that! Pres. Trump brought more social and political power to the Republican Party than ever before, I think. The Old GOP decided to destroy that for the privilege of being the "rump". They have fundamentally suppressed the votes of 75millon republicans, not the Democrats. Now DC is a one party system, SCOTUS has adopted the liberal narrative as law( Dec. 11'20). I will never vote for another Republican for DC I will at the state level, but never for national office again. I ask this question, what have we got to lose at the national level with a 3 rd party? all a Republican can do in Washington now is beg at the feet of the Democrats, the true role of the "rump" ,All Conservatives can do now is guard their home states, support the local conservatives and prepare for more division, states rights, secession if necessary ! As the socialist agenda is press down on us, we are going have make some hard choices for our states ,friend , family, business, and neighbors, and the old GOP are corrupt or complete pacifist , they want to be victims of the Democrats, they will not be representatives of the people in this regard.
God Bliss ,Keep up the good work
    To you and yours.

I agree with Stephen except for voting for a democrat, never. However, a Patriot party would not only get most of the Republican party voters, it would also get Democrat and Independent voters as well. I believe it would be a good thing. The Patriot party focus should also run on term limits for the House and Senate of not more than two terms. We also need to pass a law to make a 9 person Supreme Court permanent.

I have paid annual dues to the RNC for several years but I feel they abandoned their job when they should have been investigating the Dominion voting system long before the election took place. I am inclined to drop out of the RNC at this point. What do you think?

  • Hope Wicker

    02/05/2021 11:07 AM

I'm not for three parties... I am for doing away with the Republican party and replacing it with the patriot party! Obviously most of the Republican's in the house/senate have zero backbone. So here is my proposal. That the 80 million that voted for Trump become the Patriot party and win the next election.
No longer trusting the Republicans that were voted in to represent the values of the red party but somehow have become more towards the blue!
    Signed,
    Patriot for America

Governor, I always enjoy your commentary and 99% of the time, agree with your analysis, however, after the results of this last election, I'm not sure your response regarding "no 3rd party" is relevant. While I agree with your analysis of the impact of 3rd party candidates upon past elections, I must say, "that was then- this is now." With the advent of Dominion voting machines, we no longer really even have a two-party system. Our vote will be decided for us by whichever party is in control and that happens to be the liberal, socialist party today. Any conservative vote can be changed, in the dark of night, to be a vote for the opposition. Why vote at all? Make America America again. But there IS good news... Maranatha!! Until then, keep up the good work!

    Thank you Governor,
    I disagree.
Two independents in the Senate caucus with Democrats. A popular candidate wins regardless of party. If a "Federalist" party forms and attracts popular candidates voters will still cast their ballots her/his way. The Freedom caucus handicapped Speaker Boehner and Speaker Ryan. If those member changed party affiliation but caucused with Republicans they could keep their ethical positions and deliver their campaign promises.

I don't think it matters who I vote for----The demonrats will change all the votes they need to win. Blatant fraud all across the nation. Illegals voting, people voting twice, dead voting...Republican'ts will not win ever again. They are just as bad as their demonrat counterparts.....They want to stay in office. More power, more money.

The Republican Party appears to be beyond fixing. Most are entrenched Washington insiders who receive lots of lobbyists' donations and have the backing of the national party. They loathe the average American as much or more than the crazies on the left. They pretend to care about our country and its citizens near election time but then conveniently forget about promises made to the yokels back home (they're just glad to be back within the beltway). I, like Stephen, refuse to be played like a cheap fiddle any longer. Let the chips fall where they may since voting R only slightly impedes the march to leftist destruction of our nation.

Thank you for so clearly laying out the problems of having a third party. I’m so annoyed with Dems and RINOs that I was ready to sign up for a “Patriots” party. I well remember third candidate H. Am so disappointed with the republican reaction to the election. There was cheating and it was let go, Republicans in Congress even seemed to turn their backs on Trump. Why. Do I feel there will ever be a fair election again, no. The democrats got away with it this time, will be refined to do a better job for the next election. I’m an old woman today, but I can truly say, I’m sick of watching Mitch cozy up with Dems, Republicans turn against each other. Look at the mess we’re in now with Biden and what he’s doing. Angry

I do not agree with your assessment of a third party. If Trump were to start the third party, he would win again. The concern that I have is now that the Democratic communists are in control, it doesn’t matter what any conservative does going forward. We should rename the USA to the United Socialist States of America. Because at this point, unless we have a civil war that enables us to right the wrongs of this last election, we are done as a nation. The globalists have already won.

Greetings from the state that will Lord willing be electing your daughter very soon and for which we are extremely excited and grateful!

My concerns with regard to America are many, but one that rises to the top is this:

    ELECTIONS!

I don't care how big and exciting a movement we create and how much momentum for 2022 or 2024. The other side has demonstrated their ends justify the means. Our top goal needs to be fixing elections—EVERYWHERE. If we are not ALREADY extremely busy and aggressive by the end of THIS MONTH, write it all off. The other side will scratch, bite, and cheat their way to a cobbled together win if we don't REALLY fix it—and NOW.

My 2 cents, but I suspect and believer my 2 cents is worth our 250 year old republic—ironically enough being the same length of time that is the average lifespan of democracies in history.

(My hope, btw, is in fact Jesus and His plans—not our politic).

Blessings for all you do, Mike. Bold, uncensored truth. Maranatha!

However, a Patriot party would not only get most of the Republican party voters, it would also get Democrat and Independent voters as well. I believe it would be a good thing. Maranatha!!

Maranatha!
    Greg

      02/05/2021 11:24 AM

I, like Stephen, refuse to be played like a cheap fiddle any longer. Let the chips fall where they may since voting R only slightly impedes the march to leftist destruction of our nation.

      Governor,
Thank you for continuing to keep us informed on current happenings, as well as helping us stay on the "right track moving forward." It is so easy to get caught up in the negative, that your thoughtful reminders and positive advice are much appreciated.

Thank you for your comments and the common sense you try to relate.
The photos of Camela Harris make her look like Darth Vader. Do they really think wearing black with a mask will frighten us. She looks stupid.
Everyone know that Biden is paying for his lifetime as a PD and dishonest politician with his missing brain . At 85 years, I have seen a lot, but this takes the cake.

I am so upset about the way our country is headed. Biden is undoing all the good that was done. What can be done? Do we need to wait 4 years to do something?

      Gov.,
I agree that a third party is a bad idea at this time. But, if conservatives are to win again we must insist on vote integrity. Without it the majority may, will be the suppress.
      Thank you,
      Michael

Thank you for so clearly laying out the problems of having a third party. I’m so annoyed with Dems and RINOs that I was ready to sign up for a “Patriots” party. I well remember third candidate H. Ross Perot debacle that cost George H.W. Bush a second term and gave Clinton a first. Thanks for reminding me of the consequences and setting me straight.

Here is the absolute proof......millions of us voted for Trump and now we know. If it happened to you, wouldn't you want to know and make it right. Let's make it right!!! See it: michaeljlindell.com "Absolute Proof" Other countries controlled our election.

Maranatha!
