BIBLE VERSE OF THE DAY

And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

1 Corinthians 13:13

Israel retaliates

By Mike Huckabee

Monday, Israel retaliated with airstrikes after Palestinian and Hamas militants in Gaza launched 160 missiles into Israel, including seven aimed at Jerusalem. This was an unprovoked assault on innocent civilians. Fortunately, Israel’s “Iron Dome” defense system was able to stop most of the missiles.

Now, can you guess which side the Western media blamed for “escalating” the violence? Go ahead, you probably won’t be wrong.

https://redstate.com/shipwreckedcrew/2021/05/11/shocking-all-networks-blame-israel-for-escalating-palestinian-violence-after-160-rockets-fired-from-gaza-into-israel-n378061

The Senate is about to take up S.1

By Mike Huckabee

The Senate is about to take up S.1, the Senate Democrats’ version of the House Democrats’ HR-1, the so-called “For The People Act.” This would unconstitutionally nationalize elections, ban voter ID laws favored by large majorities of Americans, make ballot harvesting much easier, and various other recipes for ensuring that our elections could never be trusted again. Naturally, Chuck Schumer claims anyone who opposes it is against democracy.

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/schumer-mcconnell-showdown-elections-bill-senate-markup

Sen. Ted Cruz agrees with me that it deserves a more accurate title: “The Universal Fraud Law” (I call it the “Legalize Vote Fraud Act,” but same difference.) Cruz claims the Democrats have made the cynical decision that they benefit from vote fraud, so they’re taking this limited window of opportunity when they’re in control to attempt a massive power grab and try to prevent Americans from ever being able to vote them out of power again. I’d say that pretty well sums it up. So much for "democracy."

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/cruz-democrats-steal-manipulate-election-results

Cruz also makes the astute observation (admitted to by a White House staffer, speaking anonymously to New York magazine) that Biden is trying to sneak this and other radical, transformative measures past the American people by being “boring but radical."

https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/tyler-o-neil/2021/05/10/yes-biden-is-swindling-americans-white-house-staffer-lets-the-cat-out-of-the-bag-n1445693

That means he’s presenting a comforting false face as America’s kindly, moderate grandpa while actually forcing through the most radical, far-left, America-destroying political agenda of any President in history.

This power grab has been attempted before, but was stopped by the Senate. All that can block it now is the Senate filibuster, which the Democrats would love to end if it weren't for Sen. Joe Manchin and possibly one or two other moderate Democrats like Kyrsten Sinema. So if you are in a swing state or red state with a Democrat Senator, now would be a good time to let them know that they had better not back this S. 1 abomination or no amount of vote fraud will be enough to save their jobs.

A Socialist virus

By Mike Huckabee

The Biden Administration is under fire after the Pentagon yanked the traditional permit to let a veterans group use their parking lot for their annual motorcycle rally, citing COVID-19 restrictions, while Black Lives Matter is able to get a permit for anti-police protest rallies in Washington, DC, anytime they want.

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/memorial-day-biden-pentagon-rolling-to-remember-brian-mast

Obviously, these critics are not aware of the scientific studies by the CDC that show that the coronavirus refuses to spread at leftwing protest rallies. I know you think I’m being sarcastic, but think about it: the virus goes where it isn’t welcome, attacks innocent people, takes over completely, ruins lives, destroys businesses and livelihoods, crushes hopes and dreams, and is responsible for millions of people suffering and dying all around the world. You tell me it’s not socialist.

Disney put your money where your mouse is

By Mike Huckabee

Many people love Disney because they think of it as a Fantasyland where they can escape the ugly, divisive politics of today. But that might be because you don’t work for Disney, since according to anonymous whistleblowers, it’s more like living in a leftist, race-obsessed nightmare fantasyland.

https://www.westernjournal.com/leaked-documents-disney-subjected-employees-nightmare-anti-america-training/

Employees of the Disney Corporation complain that the political environment inside the company has become intolerably "woke" and Orwellian, with constant memos, suggested readings and seminars pushing “social justice,” gay and trans rights, and racist “anti-racist” indoctrination. Disney has even created a new “diversity and inclusion” program with the chilling name, “Reimagine Tomorrow” that sounds like something out of a Chinese reeducation camp. Straight, white employees are pressured to confess their racism and homophobia, and told that ideas like believing in a colorblind society or saying, “All lives matter” or “I was taught to treat everyone the same” are “as evidence of the participant’s internalized racism and white fragility.” (Yes, if you say you're not a racist, it's proof you're a racist. I think Disney got this straight from the Mad Hatter.)

They’re also told to “reject ‘equality’ which merely means ‘equal treatment and access to opportunities.’ Rather, they should aim for ‘equity,’ which means ‘the equality of outcome.’” Since that’s pure communism, I assume Goofy came up with it.

Okay, since Disney is practically torturing its employees into confessing their imaginary sins, let’s take a look at whether the people imposing this lunacy are living up to it themselves.

https://www.orlandosentinel.com/business/tourism/os-cfb-disney-ceo-pay-report-20210120-hw7zklz6brentk6n3sxwpafksa-story.html

Disney’s new CEO Bob Chapek (60) and former CEO/now Executive Chairman Bob Iger (70) are two straight, white guys who were paid, respectively, $14 million and $21 million in 2020, even while theme parks and theaters were closed due to the pandemic and thousands of lower level Disney employees were being laid off. At least they didn’t take bonuses that year. Still, it doesn't sound like they believe in "equity" of outcomes.

In 2019, Disney heiress Abigail Disney called Iger’s pay package “insane,” pointing out that it was 1,424 times the median Disney employee’s salary. She noted that Iger could have given every Disneyland employee a 15% raise just out of his bonus alone and still had $10 million left over.

So here’s my suggestion: instead of trying to Torquemada your workers into repenting of their racism and white privilege, how about putting your money where your mouse is? I’ll bet the guy who has to wear that sweaty Mickey Mouse costume thinks he works as hard as Bob Iger. So if Disney really believes in “equity,” how about giving him half of Iger’s salary?

After all, it’s what they claim to believe in. In case you never noticed, Mickey Mouse is black.

NY Court threatens parent

By Mike Huckabee

In New York, a state appellate court threatened to take custody of a child away from its mother because she has a small rock with a Confederate flag painted on it in her garden. Critics call it a dangerous and disturbing politicization of family courts.

https://www.westernjournal.com/woman-risks-losing-custody-child-small-red-white-blue-painted-rock-near-driveway/

So if you're wondering why so many people are moving out of New York, throw another reason on the pile.

Biden is just like Carter

By Mike Huckabee

I don’t know about you, but I’m getting tired of listening to Democrats pretending to be shocked and outraged when they know, and we know, and they know we know that it’s all just bad theater. For instance, after a solid year of defending, celebrating, excusing and releasing leftwing rioters, they were suddenly shocked and outraged at the idea of rightwing rioters.

Or after eight years of telling us that George W. Bush was “selected not elected” and four years of telling us that Trump wasn’t the legitimate President, they’re suddenly “shocked and outraged” that anyone would question the validity of the 2020 election. If nothing else, my eyes are getting tired from all the involuntary eye-rolling at all their transparently phony outrage. It’s like having the entire government run by the policeman in “Casablanca” who was shocked to discover there was gambling at Rick’s Café, as he pocketed his winnings.

The latest piece of bad theater we’re actually supposed to take seriously is the claim by Democrats and the media (same thing) that they are shocked and “confused” by Donald Trump Jr. comparing Biden to Jimmy Carter, after last week’s dismal jobs numbers came out. Why, Carter is a Nobel Prize-winner and icon of charity! Is that what he’s comparing Biden to?

https://pjmedia.com/instapundit/448849/

No, anyone who knows anything about history (especially anyone who lived through the Carter years) knows exactly what he meant. The proper term for what they're being is "willfully obtuse." Please stop asking me to believe you’re really that dense. Carter may be a fine and decent man, but he was a pretty lousy President. Even Homer Simpson knew what Don Jr. meant:

https://youtu.be/czfKPaypNsU

As for being shocked and outraged that he suggested Biden’s policies are going to bring back the stagflation curse of the Carter years, I’m shocked and outraged that they didn’t pretend to be shocked and outraged when I wrote this on March 23rd, a good six weeks before that jobs report appeared:

“Some economists are warning that by flooding a weak economy with borrowed money in a way that doesn’t strengthen real economic growth, Biden is steering America into a return of stagflation, the combination of inflation (rising prices) and a stagnant economy that made the Jimmy Carter years so miserable. If so, then the only silver lining would be that maybe history will repeat itself. Carter messed things up so badly that voters elected Ronald Reagan to fix it. So far, Biden’s policies have been like Carter’s on steroids, so maybe the next President will be like Reagan on steroids. Let's hope so!”

Gordon Chang: Concern about China is NOW, and it's serious

By Mike Huckabee

“There’s more than one Eric Swalwell. There could be dozens, probably hundreds of Swalwells.”

I’ll pause to let that imagery sink in. Kind of makes your skin crawl, doesn’t it? The observation comes from China expert Gordon Chang, who’s speaking in the context of Swalwell's liaison with Chinese undercover agent (translation: SPY) Christine Fang, or “Fang Fang.” In the latest episode of THE EPOCH TIMES’ video series “American Thought Leaders,” he discusses the ways China has infiltrated our society.

The word he uses is “overwhelmed.”

Swalwell is the representative from California’s 15th congressional district and also a member of the House Intelligence Committee, a fact that almost requires quotation marks around the word “intelligence.” But, as Chang notes, Fang didn’t connect with him after he was on that committee. It wasn’t even when he was first elected as a congressman.

Swalwell was on the city council of Dublin City, California, when Fang first contacted him. The people directing her were investing her time in someone they thought might become valuable in a few years. There are “Christine Fangs” everywhere, and they target both parties, Chang says. It’s so bad, he suggests, that we've got to step away from our contacts with China, at least until we can figure out a way forward.

Government, media, academia, business --- China's infiltrated it all. Chang says even the violence we’re seeing on American streets has in part been incited by China. He cites unconfirmed but credible accounts that China is behind a May 31 protest a block away from the White House. Recall that the Chinese consulate in Houston –- one of five in America –- was closed; apparently it was learned that this particular consulate was being used to plan protests. Reports of other organized protests in Southern California mirror this. Rioters have been overheard speaking Mandarin right in the crowd, not even trying to blend in.

Chang says they use “big data” and artificial intelligence to identify Americans likely to participate in BLM and Antifa protests and send them propaganda videos. Chang calls this “an act of war.” (He also points to examples of this in which instigators were not de-platformed.)

“We’ve got a problem in our country talking about China in realistic terms,” Chang says. They are not just a competitor, as Trump has termed them, but rather an adversary, even an enemy. They talk about us in those terms, with even a militaristic tone.

Chang makes it clear that no one should ever be targeted for being a Chinese American. At the same time, he says some --- some --- have been supporting Beijing. Some Chinese Americans, he says, are “more loyal to the Communist Party than they are to the United States.” The Chinese need to get real, he says, and understand that it's time to speak up.

Regardless of the origin of COVID-19, we do know that the leadership of China took steps that he had to know would spread it to other countries. Chang goes so far as to call the death of close to 600,000 Americans from covid as intentional “mass murder” and “a crime against humanity.” Worldwide, about 3.2 million people have died from this. Chang says this is the first time in history in which one nation has attacked “all the others.”

“What does it take to get us to start to defend ourselves?” he asks.

We know that Chinese scientists knew at the beginning of December, 2019, that the virus was highly transmissible from person to person, and that they waited almost a month to say anything. (I would add that this was during the time House and Senate Democrats such as Eric Swalwell were fixated on the impeachment process.) Chang cites a report from Harvard Medical School that the CCP knew as early as August of that year that they had a highly contagious virus on their hands The Chinese had a legal obligation to inform the rest of the world, and they chose not to. In fact, they simply lied, trying to convince the rest of the world that it was NOT transmissible and reassuring other countries that they had no need to impose travel restrictions.

One problem democracies have in dealing with this, he says, is that we have a hard time understanding the concept of evil. We typically think in terms of appeasement, preferring to assume that if we’re nice to other countries, they’ll be nice to us. The Chinese do NOT, In fact, Chang says, their attitude towards us has little to do with our behavior towards them. Our very existence has an “inspirational impact” on the Chinese, he explains, and the Party doesn’t like that. They see it as a threat.

Chang says we’re in a struggle with China “because of who we are...because we are this beacon.”

Chang says we’re not going to give up that role. But I wonder. Unfortunately, I see our current government moving in directions that must please China mightily, from the double standard of justice to the spying on political enemies to the embrace of censorship to moves toward he same kind of “social credit system” they impose on their own people.

Chang cites some of the steps China has taken on social media to spread fake news and create chaos. For example, they spread the rumor that President Trump was going to invoke emergency powers and lock down the whole country. THE NEW YORK TIMES reported it. Recall that they lied shamelessly about the origin of the virus, saying it started in the U.S. and that the U.S. Army brought it to Wuhan.

Chang does say that from a strategic point of view, the Chinese are pretty dumb. They’d gradually take over the world, he says, if they just weren’t so aggressive.

There’s much more detail in his full interview, which also looks at Europe’s gradual awakening to the reality of China; the Hunter Biden issue; W.H.O. concerns; the theft of intellectual property; the ACTUAL systemic racism embedded in CCP doctrine; the genocide, institutionalized slavery and rape being perpetrated; and even “probable” forced organ harvesting. He compares these to abominations committed by the Third Reich, saying we respond the way Europe did as Hitler rose to power, issuing warnings that aren't taken seriously.

For decades, the strategy we’ve had of “engagement” (appeasement) ignored China's non-compliance with basic standards of decency. We ALLOWED this.

Chang sees Biden’s responses as a mixed bag, criticizing him for “repeating what China is saying” about xenophobia, etc. And Biden repealed Trump’s executive order that prohibited grid operators and utilities from buying equipment from China –- bad move. “This is an issue of sabotage,” he says, noting the time China “turned out the lights” in Mumbai, the financial capital of India. Biden gives them gifts, Chang says, but doesn’t ask for anything in return.

“I don’t know why the Chinese leader has some spell over Biden.”

A Reader Writes Back...

I’m glad that people are finally wishing up and leaving ares like, NY, Oregon, and other socialist strongholds. I just pray that they realize why they are leaving and do not bring their voting record with them...

I plan on writing to one of my WV Senators, Joe Manchin. Here is what .I plan to tell him:

Senator, I could state to you all of the arguments for voting against the voting “rights” bill, doing away with the filibuster, and packing the Supreme Court. You are very aware of all of those considerations. There is one, and only one reason, for voting against these measures, it is the RIGHT thing to do. I am sure that you do not want your children and grandchildren to live under an autocratic government. Human beings have an overriding trait, untamed power corrupts.

I know that going against your party’s agenda is very, very difficult. I am sure it makes your life hellish, but remember what happens when good men do nothing. May you and your family be blessed and kept safe.

    Thank you for listening.

Just wondering....I was really enjoying the Spotlight on Inspirational Americans; why has it disappeared? Not that I don't enjoy your articles otherwise. Just loved being able to pick up information on some people I may not know much about! Keep up the great work, and when possible, include more Inspirational Americans.

I have known for 26 years how Disney operates with the death of a 9 year old boy all those years ago. The parents can tell you how horribly they were treated and unless you have had a death of your child, you cannot fully understand the depth of despair you feel with just the loss. Unfortunately, I do but did not have to deal with what the family did. I sat in a meeting one evening with the parents who were reminded of their pain with a Mickey Mouse clock on the wall. I have never felt the same about anything Disney and am heartbroken with how much worse it seems to be getting.

Disney has been giving me the "creeps" for at least 15 years now. Yes, they were not overtly offensive to Christian values, but something in my heart said "stay away, there is evil here".

    Mike.

Jimmy Carter is not a fine and honorable man. He goes around telling kids, not only that homosexuality and abortion are right, but the Jesus would approve of them.
I think the Bible has something to say about a millstone around your neck, where that is concerned.
