Election News

The Democrats still have a chance to ruin everything!!!

I’m disgusted with a small and selfish group of Republicans who probably feel they are “Spartacus” but the movie best fitting them is “The Gang Who Couldn’t Shoot Straight.”

Several of these hold-outs (I should say “hold-ups”) are friends and I supported and campaigned for many.  I won’t be in the future.  The simple of rule of politics is that you take your stand, but if you don’t have enough following to lead, then recognize that you simply didn’t sell your ideas very well.  Less than 20 GOP members of Congress are stopping 200 of their fellow Republicans from getting about the business of investigating corruption in the White House, FBI, DOJ, and in Congress itself.  Instead, without being able to articulate a specific reason for their objections, they have blocked the election of Kevin McCarthy as Speaker and in so doing making the Republicans look like a bunch of 6 year olds who refuse to play unless the majority surrenders to the tantrums of the few.

Is Kevin McCarthy perfect?  Of course not.  But he has faithfully worked to recruit candidates, help fund them, and get them elected.  The ultimate outrage is that some he helped win and raised funds for now have shown they really DO think it’s about them and not the bigger principles of the conservative movement.

Dr. E. V. Hill, longtime CA pastor used to say “If you think you’re a leader and you look behind you and no one is following, you aren’t a leader—you’re just out for a walk.”  The actions of the petulant circle of “Never-Kevins” don’t amount to enough votes to get close to winning.  But they may have enough to make sure their own team loses.  These guys are setting fire to their own hosue, but they are arsonists who didn’t even have fire insurance.  The mission is just “burn it down.”  And in so doing, empowering the very Democrats some of us worked very hard to put in the minority.

We did NOT work to blow up our own opportunity to take on the Pelosi, Schiff, Nadler, and Squad team, but that’s the effect of the actions of the camera hungry Congress members who may deep down believe they are more “principled” than everyone else, but have shown a startling level of political immaturity.

If the tiny crowd of political tots can’t convince a majority of their peers to follow them off the cliff, they should have the self-awareness to admit they fired their best shot and simply missed the target.  Now it’s time to fight for the American people.  If after taking leadership, Kevin and company don’t deliver, you might be able to make a better case for lighting the fuse to the bomb to blow up the place.

Governor, you are SPOT ON!! I am disgusted by these GOP clowns. Feel bad for McCarthy. What is it every man for himself with Haetz and friends?! We are already crushed by the mid-term disappointment (thx Ronna and Turtle McC), now to suffer this joke? I feel like my donations were right down the tubes.

    McConnell - McCarthy - McDaniel = McFailure
    Why not McCarthy?
    > a bonified California RINO
    > campaigned against a MAGA candidate
    > did not help ANY America first candidates
    > received donations (and did not return) from FTX
    > has publicly stated he will NOT entertain ANY impeachments (yet Comer is working around the clock on Hunter, DOJ, and FBI - why)
    > stated he supports same sex marriage
    > and like most Republicans, lacks ANY backbone(insert other anatomy parts at will) to take a stand against Biden or any of the ACP
    >did not fight for MTG and her expulsion from committee assignments
    >did not fight for Trump - actually fought against him

The spineless republicans(of which I was one) have done this to themselves! Let them live with it!

Governor, I have been a long time supporter but I have to disagree with your calling the 20 hold out Republicans “toddlers”. My understanding is that McCarthy was presented a simple 3 part request: Allow a Border Security Bill to advance and be voted on, introduce steps to begin the process of term limits for members of Congress and introduce legislation that would balance the budget in 7 years and he would get the votes and he refused. That is NOT the Speaker we need. I agree we can’t let the Fox control the Henhouse and risk a Democrat Speaker or allow shared power. It’s time for an alternate candidate..not
    McCarthy!

Mike I am surprised at your comments here. Apparently you are too insulated from what the base of voters are wanting. People are tired of politics as usual and apparently McCarthy represents that to a large share of voters. I am your same age and I am tired of politics as usual since I’ve seen plenty of graft and corruption in my lifetime. I grew up in Illinois and have lived in Oregon over 20 years so I’ve seen my share. Maybe it’s time that those of us in the old guard get out of the way and let the young firebrands do their thing. If the Lord tarred they are the ones who will have to live in the future!

Dear Mr. Huckabee, I called Ted Cruz's office today and suggested he stand up and tell the house THAT MAYBE THEY COULD RELEASE THE J6 PRISONERS WHO HAVEN"T KILLED THEMSELVES YET, OUT! THESE ARE AMERICANS FOLLOWING THE CONSTITUTION IN AMERICAN HANDS FOR NOTHING!!!!!! Me I'm waiting for Jesus because while these two year olds throw tantrums in the house, Kevin moving into the Senate Suite makes him look just like Hillary! It's also like the picture in the Louvre of Napoleon stealing the crown out of the pope's hands!

Mike I have been a supporter of yours for a while but I am upset that you would take this side. Our country is a mess, our politicians are not to be trusted. The vast majority of Republicans in Congress have no backbone or actually are wolves in sheep clothing and yet just like Obama asked...please accept the new normal. Please tell me you are not a RINO also. You want to turn your back on those 20 and we as constituents would like those 20 to be multiplied by 100 to see if we finally get a congress who represent us and grow a pair.

I'm not with you or my beloved President Trump on this, sir...the Mc-trilogy of McConnell, McCarthy, and McDaniel are the real arsonists in the party. They've repeatedly betrayed the GOP electorate base by poo-poohing the flagrant, rampant election fraud that has taken place since 2020, and refusing to act aggressively in pursuit of redress for that. No one outside the beltway can be reasonably expected to believe that McCarthy will do anything but stick his finger in the political wind to see which way it goes. We've witnessed it, seen it, experienced it. He is absurdly so far up the Dems' collective behind, to be believed or to be entrusted to carry out what will prove to be empty promises, at best, and outright coalescing with the Dems, at predictable worst. Our witnessed experience includes the indefensible sabotage, by all three, against the Trump-endorsed MAGA candidates in the midterms, most critically in the PA Senate race, instead choosing to aid and abet a severely impaired and surely legally incompetent and open Marxist, John Fetterman, over Dr Mehmet Oz. They viciously, vindictively exerted to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory ( for the sake of argument, I'm not including the flagrant ballot manufacturing by the Dems), thus gifting the Senate another majority.

I don't think you are grasping the depth and scope of the sentiment of the conservative base that is exhausted with the GOP's incessant game of playing Lucy's football against Charlie Brown. We would rather, in fact we regard it as a necessity, that the current pantomiming of the GOP as an opposition party to the Democrats, be *burnt to the ground*.

Congresswoman Boebert reports that the hold-outs went to McCarthy with a few basic, non-brainer concessions that McCarthy must pledge to, to end this circus that is entirely of the legacy GOP's own making. Not the *dissidents* creation---the GOP leadership. He refused to pledge to border security, term limits, and a commitment to balance the Federal budget. These elements should not even be up for debate, should they? We the common folk are not impressed by McCarthy's fund-raising abilities, when the fundraising is ONLY for those dubbed suitable by GOP *leadership*. Better for this charade of a GOP to self-destruct and a new, truly second party arise. This death by 1000 cuts is intolerable.

I agree with you since we have not been able to find anyone or elect someone else Speaker...It would be best to go ahead and elect Kevin McCarthy, though I admit I was holding out for someone else. We need to get on with business and be glad we are finally seeing the backside of Nancy.

Dear Mike, I have another view about McCarthy that really I hope he doesn't become Speaker, and that is his SILENCE on many issues while he was the minority leader. He remained silent when our country was burning to the ground in 2020, and he has been silent about the open borders. From what I heard, and I hope you have the ability to verify, he worked with McConnell, Schiff, Schumer, Pelosi, and Pence to violated the explicitly clear Constitution the morning of J6 by foregoing on the required 3/4 of both houses to certify the electoral votes, only allowing 21 Republicans and 21 Democrats present to certify. That alone should make us quiver that they disregard the Constitution so easily.
No one's perfect, but we should not have people in this high position who has no problem breaking our Constitutional Rights so easily.
If these twenty or so representatives are not willing to fight for getting a fighter in that position, then when is it the right time?
He has allowed Pelosi to rule like a dictator, has been willing to push our federal deficit to utter ruin, been absent concerning the border, J6 political prisoners, lied to us so often that he must have swallowed the sewage he has been swimming in, and frankly, we voted these people in to make a big difference, not to cow tow to Rinos who uses threats and scare tactics to get their way. A little bit of embarrassing moments like this just may break up the mindset they can take turns ruling the country, whether Dems or Rinos, a uniparty hellbent to have our Country fly off the flipping cliff.

Governor, I agree with you 100%. The vocal few are playing a very dangerous game that could lead to a fractured House that can not stand. I donated to many of those we are grandstanding. I won't make that mistake again.
