We receive far more reader comments than we can possibly reply to individually --- and thanks for every one! --- but here are a couple that we thought should have detailed answers.

Dear Mr. Huckabee. I love the show, and I really appreciate how you keep the replies and answers you provide to your letters and responses 'real' and honest. I do have a bit of an issue with the second impeachment attempt of our former President, Donald Trump.

Simply, if I or one of my friends falsified physical and video evidence, in order to try and indict someone of a crime, and then later came out and said it was all fabricated, well, I would be charged and thrown in jail. So why is it that Nancy Pelosi and her goon squad, along with House Managers, get away with falsifying video evidence and then aren't charged with making false accusations against our former President. In-office or not, Nancy Pelosi and her squad of goons should be locked up. How can Americans see to it that in the future corrupt politicians get what's coming to them, for making false claims and inciting stupidity? Steve, in Knoxville, TN.

We have “a bit of an issue,” as well. To begin with, in case anyone has any doubt, the "goons" (managers) really did do it. Fortunately, when their turn came, Trump's defense attorneys were able to very skillfully expose what the House managers had done to heighten anti-Trump emotion and distort fact. It was masterful.

To cite just one example, House manager Eric Swalwell presented a tweet by Trump supporter Jennifer Lynn Lawrence that was false in two respects: 1) it had been doctored with a blue check mark to show it was from a verified Twitter account, when the original had no such mark, and 2) Swalwell misread the word “calvary” (as in Christ) as “cavalry” (as in large-scale military), giving the tweet a totally different meaning than the one intended.

It seems to me that if we lived in a world that made sense and Swalwell had been prosecuting a real trial, he would be disbarred, either for falsifying evidence or for being so stupid in mixing up those two words that they’d KNOW he must have cheated his way through law school. Of course, one of these possibilities does not preclude the other.

Sure, I'm kidding a little, but it sure looks like prosecutorial misconduct to me. And about a hundred counts of smarminess, though I don't think you can be disbarred for that.

Democrats denied the allegation that they had added the blue check to the tweet, and we can’t prove it wasn’t a mistake, but they even tried to weasel out of the “calvary/cavalry” mash-up. Not buying that one.

Here’s another example of false evidence, this one undeniable.

As for the slickly-produced video they presented, it's obvious that someone with serious editing and psychology skills created a piece of propaganda that would never have been allowed in an actual court of law. Of course, we all know they clipped off the key part of what Trump said about going “peacefully and patriotically” to the Capitol, but their stagecraft went well beyond that that.

Still, the Democrats never "came out and said it was all fabricated." And the anti-Trump opinion sites and “fact-checking” sites (same thing) have pushed back hard against allegations that the prosecution cheated. If you’d like to see an example of how they dismiss those claims as “flimsy” while failing to successfully debunk them, here’s a sample. If anything is flimsy, it’s this so-called rebuttal.

The problem with holding Pelosi and her "goons" accountable is that this wasn’t an actual trial. It truly was political theater. They'd never have been able to turn a real trial into the kangaroo court that this was. (Well, maybe O.J.’s “dream team” did it, but that’s the only one I can remember.) The House managers had it both ways: they got the gravitas of a "legal" proceeding on the Senate floor, but when it came time to break the rules of evidence, they said it was political and the rules didn’t apply.

This is yet another case in which we’re unlikely to see accountability, at least with this crowd in control. The ballot box is the only solution, which brings me to our next letter...

Mr. Huckabee, I am a conservative, Trump-supporting, Huckabee-family follower! I don't normally reach out like this; however, I feel you are a person of integrity and a source I can trust. Could you please explain to me (and many other lay people), why the documentary from Mike Lindell ABSOLUTE PROOF is not being taken seriously? What am I missing? It appears that the folks appearing in the film are legit and it appears there is obvious proof of something going on with regards to election fraud. What am I missing? I am an educated and level-headed person but things are not adding up here! Please help us understand!! Thank You!

Thanks for writing, Julie. You’re right; things aren’t adding up. I’ll list a few issues with ABSOLUTE PROOF that are keeping it from being taken more seriously:

--- It’s quite long, and the “proof” is saved for the very end. I’ll bet a lot of people started watching and bailed.

--- There are some statistics in the first part of his presentation that have been pretty successfully challenged.

--- If one tiny part is debunked, some will claim the whole thing is debunked, which is not the case.

--- Anyone who gives Lindell a platform is afraid of getting sued into oblivion, and/or canceled or boycotted.

--- Virtually all the powers on Earth are trying to bury this and to destroy Lindell for daring to present it.

Ironically, that last item might turn out to be what brings the story out in the open, because I don’t see Lindell backing down ONE BIT. After being threatened by letter weeks ago, he has finally been sued for defamation by Dominion Voting Systems. If he’s got some very sharp attorneys (because Dominion will try to stop him at every turn), he should be able to get some serious discovery. Truly, if Lindell is going to defend himself, his lawyers and computer/election experts will need access to EVERYTHING. And if they don’t give him access to EVERYTHING, they will be telling the world they have something to hide.

Dominion claims he started all this as a way to sell more pillows. That is ludicrous, considering the hit his business has taken.

For now, I wish he’d put out a shorter, more tightly edited version of his video that deals mostly with the “100 percent proof.” At this point, we’re not going to be able to do anything with any other evidence of irregularities; the Supreme Court has seen to that, to our great disappointment. But if there really is a problem with electronic voting machines –- or, if there isn’t –- we need to know this as soon as possible! We absolutely cannot have another election like the last one.

Two House Democrats from California (natch), Reps. Jerry McNerny and Anna Eshoo, sent a letter to major TV carriers such as AT&T, Hulu and Dish Network, trying to bully them into taking conservative news channels such as Fox News, Newsmax and OANN off their platforms.

This transparently fascistic move is, of course, presented under the guise of deep concern for all that “misinformation” and “disinformation” spread by journalists who report facts that conflict with the fantasy world in which leftists live these days. It’s stunning that their entire justification for trying to censor what they brand as propaganda and disinformation is based on propaganda and disinformation, like the rapidly unraveling narrative that the January 6th assault on the Capitol by a small group of extremist nutjobs was some sort of serious “insurrection” to overthrow the government on the level of 9/11, that the people behind it were “white supremacists” (there’s no evidence of that being a motivation for the vast majority of them) or that they in any way represent the tens of millions of conservative Americans who watch outlets like Fox or who voted for Trump, virtually all of whom have condemned the Capitol violence.

I suppose they also believe that Officer Brian Sicknick was killed by a flying fire extinguisher hurled by a Trump supporter, since we heard that story so many times from "reliable," Democrat-approved news outlets, even though it turned out not to be true.

If I were going to argue that sources of dangerous, partisan disinformation be removed from TV, I’d be pushing for CNN and MSNBC to be dropped. But I would never do that because I believe in free speech rights as the Founders intended them: a free marketplace of ideas where all voices are heard, and the people are expected to have enough sense to tell good ideas and worthy speech from ludicrous, totalitarian garbage. That’s why I even defend these two Congress members’ right to free speech. It helps us to identify dangerous authoritarians who have violated their oath of office to support and defend the Constitution and who need to be impeached or voted out as soon as possible.

Remember the Logan Act?

It’s that dusty law, possibly unconstitutional and seldom enforced, that bars private citizens from conducting foreign policy on behalf of the US, in contradiction of legitimate government authorities. In recent years, Democrats have often tried to use it against Republicans, making bogus charges that just talking to a foreign diplomat, even if it’s part of your job, is somehow a “violation of the Logan Act.” Ask Mike Flynn about that.

Well, stop the presses! After all these years, I think we might finally have a certifiable, prosecutable violation of the Logan Act!

In an exclusive report, the Washington Times reveals that an attempt by the Trump Administration to open back-channel talks with Iran to defuse rising tensions failed because two months before, Iran’s foreign minister had been talking with former Obama officials, including John Kerry and Robert Malley, who were working to undermine Trump (i.e., the official elected representative of the United States) and lay the groundwork for the Democrats’ return to power and a more “accommodating” stance toward the world’s #1 state sponsor of terrorism. That's right: their meddling directly interfered with official attempts to quell the dangers from Iran.

I anxiously await the coming Logan Act indictments and FBI raids of John Kerry’s house in the dead of night with helicopters and SWAT teams and psychic CNN reporters standing by. And don’t give Kerry bail: he loves taking private jets to accept environmental awards, so we know he’s a flight risk.

Parler Is Back

The free speech social media site Parler is finally coming back online, having been nearly destroyed by Big Tech giants Amazon, Google and Apple for allegedly facilitating the planning of the January 6th Capitol riot. That’s the story pushed relentlessly by leftwing media outlets, who live in constant fear that anyone anywhere might be engaging in free speech that they disapprove of. We’ve heard all sorts of things about how eeeevil Parler is on Facebook and Twitter, those two paragons of woke righteousness.

But just as with most of what’s passed for common knowledge about that day, the more time that’s gone by, the more we learn how badly the public has been bamboozled. Like what caused the death of Officer Brian Sicknick, which took the “fact-checkers” at PolitiFact over six weeks to get right.

Not only was the attack being planned long before Trump made the speech that allegedly “incited” it, but we now know that Parler was hardly the preferred tool of riot planners. Rachel Bovard at the Federalist analyzed the 223 charging documents filed by the DOJ against people who were allegedly involved in planning the attack. Here’s what she discovered:

They cite 20 posts on Instagram (owned by Facebook), 24 on YouTube (owned by Google), 73 on Facebook and a whopping eight on Parler.

As Ms. Bovard points out, if any single platform could be called the favorite of the Capitol rioters, it was Facebook, which along with its subsidiary Instagram hosted nearly a dozen times as many relevant posts as Parler. Yet nobody has kicked Facebook off of the Internet and vilified it. YouTube also helped the planners three times more than Parler, but I don't see Google banning its own company from Google searches and app downloads.

Ms Bovard writes, “Somehow, Facebook—which, in 2018, was used to facilitate a genocide in Myanmar, and still can’t manage to stop ISIS from circulating recruitment materials—is Teflon in the face of the same charges that take down competitors like Parler, one of the very few Big Tech alternatives that has managed to break through to mainstream status. And that is because this issue is not really about content moderation policies. It’s about narrative control.”

Read the entire article. She goes on to talk about the concerted effort to silence conservatives, to take away our services and force us into “dusty corners” of the Internet on platforms with no reach that can’t compete with the tech monopolies. Parler had to be taken out because it was the first one that threatened their stranglehold on the flow of information. Well, as I keep reminding people, we’re at least 75 million strong. If we all go together, wherever we go will become a force in social media, and whatever we abandon will be hurt by the loss.

AG Nominee Merrick Garland Is Questioned By The Senate

Obama’s failed SCOTUS nominee and now Biden pick for Attorney General Merrick Garland is being questioned by the Senate Judiciary Committee. Keeping up with all his evasions is like trying to focus on a hummingbird’s wings.

Instapundit rounded up a collection of headlines and links to more details of some of his worst dodges and deflections.

To sum up a few: he can’t say whether he would protect the Durham investigation, or oppose trans men destroying women’s sports or consider entering the US illegally to be a crime…and he’s not sure whether it was domestic terrorism for Portland rioters to try to burn down a federal courthouse because, hey, it was closed at the time. Yes, wasn’t it closed because of all the RIOTING?

Heaven help us if he becomes Attorney General. Judging from what we’re seeing now, I’d say that America dodged more bullets than Rambo when we didn’t get him on the Supreme Court.
