Last night, President Biden finally made his first joint address to Congress, a Bizarro World variation on a State of the Union Address in which only a tiny group of 100% fully-vaccinated people showed up, all wearing masks and social distancing, despite being in a massive room with a two-story ceiling. It was like sending a message to the entire world that our own leaders don’t believe the vaccines work. But I digress.

Here’s the entire speech on YouTube:

https://youtu.be/-j1sbNTgGx0

Here are all the key moments in 10 minutes (it would’ve been nice if his speechwriters had tried this).

And if you don’t want to sit through the whole thing but want to know precisely what was said, here’s a full transcript you can speed-read.

And here are Fox News’ “Top Five Moments” from the speech.

Note the “Bonus Highlight” moment, when you could actually hear someone’s cell phone go off in the nearly empty chamber during Biden’s speech. It would’ve been even funnier if the phone had a cricket chirp ringtone. Or snoring.

Biden spoke for over an hour, but if I had to sum it all up in a nutshell, it would be with the familiar conservative adage, “The government that’s big enough to give you everything you need and want is big enough to take away everything you have.” Because that was basically what his plans amount to.

In more detail, it was everything you would have expected, at excruciating length. A lot of boasting about the success of the vaccination program, with no credit given to Trump for helping create the vaccines in record time through Operation Warp Speed and already administering 100,000 shots a day (including Biden's) by the time Biden took office. A lot of talk about working together and listening to the other side while demonizing the other side and proposing bills he knows we adamantly oppose. Claiming that by raising taxes and the minimum wage, shutting down domestic oil and gas production and targeting the gig economy for destruction (that’s the “PRO Act” he touted, the national version of the disastrous California AB 5 law) - all things proven to destroy jobs -- we’re going to create millions of new jobs.

He even said, “For me, when I think about climate change, I think jobs.” He mentioned all the jobs retrofitting buildings to be greener, and installing 500,000 charging stations for electric cars. And where will all the electricity come from? Why, sources like wind turbines, of course. He said he sees no reason why they can’t be built here instead of China. Except they require heavy metals that now only come from China.

And who will pay for all these jobs? The government, of course! If this speech had a theme song, it would be, “I’ve Been Workin’ For the Government, All the Livelong Day.” (Another good choice might be, “Don’t Know Much About History”:

And it will all be paid for with money only taken from the super-rich and big corporations. If you’re not one of those, you’ll enjoy endless free stuff with no downside at all, and a bill would never come due. If you believe that, I assume you also dream of living in Fantasyland at Disney World.

Truly, Biden’s mask was finally off, in more ways than one. We’ve heard all this before; it’s the Obama years on steroids: destroying existing jobs on a promise to replace them with government-created “green” union jobs that never appear, largely because the same liberals making these promises have made it impossible to get permits to start any major construction of anything. It’s why Obama himself admitted that there were no “shovel-ready jobs.” Too bad, I could’ve used a shovel during this speech.

Ironically, you could only do this if you slashed regulations like Trump did, and that’s one of the first things Biden reversed by executive order, along with destroying union jobs by killing the Keystone XL Pipeline. He also wants a government program to lower prescription drug prices, and never mind that he inexplicably reversed a Trump executive order that did just that.

The biggest news out of the speech was his promoting of even more massive spending in bills which, as always, come with “Who can oppose this?” names to hide the actual contents, such as “The American Rescue Plan” or “The American Families Plan.” I’m sure there are some good things in them, like expanded child tax credits. But the names are also cover for a raft of government-expanding, freedom-crushing, budget-bloating programs. Some analysts pointed out that Biden didn’t include means-testing on some, like free community college, so even kids of millionaires could qualify. If Republicans proposed this, Democrats would call it a “giveaway to the rich.”

Conservatives noted that in just three months in office, between the COVID-19 bill that was mostly not directly related to COVID-19, the “Infrastructure” bill that spends only a fraction of its cost on actual infrastructure, and now this new $1.8 trillion proposal, Biden has endorsed about $6 trillion in new deficit spending, or about half-again as much as the entire annual federal budget. I hope the Green-New-Deal-Under-Another-Name that he’s proposing includes funding for planting a billion money trees, because we’re going to need them.

Senator Tim Scott Responds:

The GOP response to Biden’s speech was given by Sen. Tim Scott, and it was terrific. It was filled with inspiring personal stories, ideas for finding common ground, and much-needed common sense. I urge you to watch it all. It’s less than 15 minutes but says more than Biden did in over 60 minutes. My favorite line was his description of how partisan the Democrats’ “infrastructure” bill is: “They won’t even build bridges to build bridges!”

https://youtu.be/LJgn7_1d3-M

He also reminded viewers that when he proposed a bipartisan police reform bill that Democrats said they wanted, they used the Senate filibuster (that they now call “racist” and want to eliminate) to block it from a vote. As Scott said, they preferred to keep the problem as a political tool than to solve it.

Here’s the transcript.

You can tell how effective Sen. Scott’s speech was because the left was panicked enough to resort to their standard fallback: hurling racist slurs at a black man for daring not to think the way they tell him to. Ironic, since Scott even mentioned the racist attacks made on him by so-called “progressives.” Meanwhile, Twitter, which will censor any conservative for any reason, allowed a racist leftist hashtag to trend.

Gov. Huckabee I think you hit the nail on the head as usual with the Biden speech and the rebuttal from Tim Scott. The dems will never give President Trump any accolades for the things he did in 4 quick years that would have a lasting effect on all Americans nor would they give him credit for anything to do with Covid only to falsely accuse him of doing nothing. It's pathetic and we will never be a United States while such hatred is in the White House. Thank you for always telling it like it is and for your humor.

Senator Scott's was the best speech of bonding and healing I have ever heard. After Biden's jibberish it brought air back to us and a heartbeat of hope. I would love to give his mama hug for the great job she did blessing our wounded country with this good man and ALL he stands for

You have only to read about the ancient Biblical cities, and I know you have had , many times, to know what happens when societies break all of God’s laws. There was destruction, plagues, despotic leaders, etc. Sound familiar? We have proposals for little children to pray to Aztec gods, fornicate liberally (no pun intended), steal, murder, pillage, destroy, kill almost born babies, covet what is not ours, bear false witness, keep everything open for business in Sunday’s, take God’s name in vain. If Covid is not classified as a plague, that what would be?

Thank you, Governor Huckabee, for reiterating the two speeches. I got to the point and still am that if I see Obama et al of his ilk I fast=forward. The fast -forward doesn't work fast enough for Biden and all of those who are with him. But I did hear bits and pieces of Senator Scott on Fox News/My comment was, "When will he become president? Thank you for your clear explanation as you do on your show which I enjoy. I'm sorry your venture for president didn't happen, you would have been great! But it's all part of the plan so we take comfort in that. Christine Mikulka

I also was offended when Biden remarked that "We the people" are the government. The people ELECT the government, the government represents "We the people"...it is NOT the people. Thank you, Gov. Huckabee, for your continued service.

I believe that conservatives have to face the truth about progressive intentions. The border crisis was planned. The weakening of the economy is purposeful. The perpetuation of the COVID crisis is seen as advantageous to them. Biden is in the pocket of Beijing and Harris wants American population control. They introduce serfs (illegal immigrants) that they fear will blunt the force of popular conservatism. We have to acknowledge this and fight accordingly. Letting them frame their own arguments is a mistake.

I agree with former V-P Biden that American is RACIST. The racist in America are usually called Democrats, Cancel Culturist, unlawful, anti- Police and Military and a hundred other totally un-American ideologies.

Groan. I feel like I’m in the twilight zone. The play by Hans Christian Anderson, “The Emperor’s New Clothes “ play’s daily. The critics (main stream media) gives rave reviews, thereby ensuring the curtain will go up again tomorrow. How long must I listen to Nancy Pelosi, LaMala Harris (translation: the bad one, the incompetent one), and Joe Biden pat themselves on the back. They do this every time acting president Biden speaks in public.
Sitting in my chair, my mind wanders to the real world. The cost of filling my gas tank is up 30%. I don’t believe America is racist and wonder why the Democrats stir up the racists. My safety for the past 65 years has been protected by the rule of law. Now my safety is endangered by a fellow Catholic who wants to impose cultural imperialism on me by forcing me to pay for and participate in the murder of unborn children. He imposes cultural imperialism on the rest of the world by forcing them to accept abortion services in return for badly needed food stores. He endangers my safety by denigrating hard working police officers. He further endangers my safety by making it more difficult for me to protect myself! If there are not enough police officers, shouldn’t I buy myself a gun for my own protection? Will I be able to find one? I recently tried to hire household help for my mother. A woman I spoke to wanted to work under the table and didn’t want to give me her taxpayer identification number. I told my mother it was people like her that caused the City of Stockton, California to go bankrupt. I am truly worried about the the survivability of this country for the next four years. I am embarrassed that some Olympic athletes want to kneel for the anthem on the world stage. Only athletes that appreciate the opportunities this country gives them should be allowed to participate in the Olympics. I wonder if there are enough true Americans left to fight for this country.
To end on a positive note. I want to thank you for your news letters. They give me hope.

I am disheartened with our country’s “leadership” and did not bother to watch Biden. I am sorry for him and whatever is unifying his supporters in agendas they have that are not protecting the welfare of our country and its citizens.

Senator Scott’s speech, which I watched a few minutes ago, was earnestly honest and compelling. I am grateful for his leadership and pray that his determination does not fail and that he can discern not only God’s presence but his guidance. I offer my thanks and appreciation.

    Dear Governor
I sat thru the entire Biden speech and came away "empty".... lots of rhetoric; no realistically accomplishable plans. Just "pie in the sky" promises while he (and those who really are "running his show") try to turn this country into a one-party, non-democratic, non-republic....for all of us.....(except chosen elites and their "useful idiots") would have and own nothing. Orwellian to say the least.
In my previous comment, I lauded Senator Tim Scott's response to Biden and the Democrat's idiocy.
Only one thing....Scott said he has even been called an "Uncle Tom" as a derogatory comment. Well...IF you can still obtain that book by Harriet Beecher Stowe....."Uncle Tom" was a Black slave who was key in running the "underground railroad" helping many Black slaves escape north to freedom. In the book, "Uncle Tom" was eventually caught....and because he refused to give the names of those involved in the "railroad" (including white people who were helping), he was killed.
So...being called an "Uncle Tom" over the years has "morphed" from being an heroic Black man standing firm for principles of freedom....into an insult as someone who "kowtows" to those with "white priviledge".
I really and truly hope that Senator Scott realizes he is a true American patriot!

Message to the panicking Liberals, "You can't handle the truth" as quoted by Jack Nicholson..... Let's add "Show me the money" while we remember that Tom Cruse is the recipient of the retort to the liberals.
You can add to all that for a good laugh.
Our wish is that all this unfettered power should just whimper away.

Short of absolute war, I appreciate all of the conservative voices finally being heard on the internet, facebook, blogs and etc. This should have happened many, many years ago. Why so late? Would also like you to address term limits. As a teacher it took me many years to achieve the high end of my career. So am really not sure how this would play out, as American young people tend to vote for herorics rather than platform w some critical thinking skills!! HA!

President Biden's speech was nothing new and something I couldn't watch in its entirety because it is 'fake', and not from HIS heart. He is fed everything and just reading what he's told to read.
On the other hand, Senator Scott spoke from his heart and soul. His speed was SO VERY POSITIVE and absolutely spot on. I hope that it awakened others on the Dem/left front to the REAL truth.

Since I had a "live" podcast scheduled for last night, I could not watch the entire Biden "Snooze Fest". I felt sorry for Senator Lindsey Graham trying to keep his eyes open when his brain had to be telling him to shut down for survival.
The first issue that Biden kept pushing and to which his cohorts kept standing and clapping was American jobs, American pride, America first and on and on. What's interesting about that is when Trump used to talk about America first, he was a "Xenophobe" - a "racist" - a supporter of "White Supremacy". It's another example of the hypocrisy of the Democrat party. If they say "it" - it's patriotic. If a conservative says it (or heaven forbid a filthy "Trumper") it's "racist".
One more thing. Biden' plan to add 4 more years of public education to the "mix", is in my opinion, nothing more than an opportunity to start their "brainwashing regimen" on 3 year olds (while providing free childcare) and continue that system of programing into some form of "higher education". So the very people who have screwed up K-12 for many kids in this country, now want us to trust them spending more time with our "progeny". Yeah! The odds of that resulting in anything good for the students or America is not worthy of "Vegas Odds".
All things considered, I'd give Lindsey Graham higher marks for his performance than Joe Biden.
That's just my opinion of course!

I learned something special last night: We have a new candidate for the
GOP next Presidential nominees, Tom Scott. He joins the other two, I have in mind, Sarah Sanders and Nikki Haley. One fir Pres., one for VP, and one for Sec. of State. Sarah needs the experience of being Governor first. Tom could us that also.
I should think Black people would be proud to have a man like Tom .Scott in the limelight. As a white woman, I am behind his speech 100% and proud to see those women out there also. As to Sarah, Governor, you and Mrs. Huckabee “done real good”.
