“I am asking for everyone at the U.S. Capitol to remain peaceful. No violence! Remember, WE are the Party of Law & Order --- respect the Law and our great men and women in Blue. Thank you!”

President Trump tweeted this in response to the violence that erupted Wednesday at the Capitol Building, when some “Trump supporters” broke through barricades and stormed the building, breaking windows, getting rough with police in the halls, even entering the House chamber. As this is being written, news has just broken that one of the people who got shot in the melee has died.

Trump is right: we ARE the party of law and order, but I think most of us will agree that he needs to be a lot tougher in his condemnation of this. The same can be said of the video statement he released. Of course, virtually every news outlet who posted his tepid “go home” video had to editorialize, saying that Trump “repeated false claims” of election fraud. Facebook took it down.

So did YouTube.

Trump also tweeted this on Wednesday: “Mike Pence didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done to protect our Country and our Constitution, giving States a chance to certify a corrected set of facts, not the fraudulent or inaccurate ones which they were asked to previously certify. USA demands the truth!”

Well, yes, Mr. President, but in the USA, at least those of us on the right, also demand that the Constitution be meticulously followed. Vice President Pence obviously was doing what he thought was right concerning his role in this. We may disagree with him –- numerous constitutional experts do, and Alan Dershowitz isn’t sure –- and you obviously disagree with him, but please, right now, stay out of that process and stop pressuring him.

Trump told his supporters to go home, but no reaction to this violence is complete without a total, vociferous condemnation. We all condemned the truly awful violence coming from the Democrat side this summer when their party and the media (but I repeat myself) failed to do it. In this case, it’s just as wrong, no matter who is behind it.

We are aghast at this.

Dear Governor Huckabee: I read or heard that antifa was going to intersperse themselves into the Trump supporter crowd and get violent. Then the media would attribute that to the conservatives. This is how it works. God help us!!

We only know what the news media writes. They hide the truth. Put the blame on where it belongs, the state politicians when the last 9 months of burning and looting businesses of innocent people trying to survive the pandemic did nothing. The handwriting was on the wall. The people have had enough! Even the Supreme Court failed us. We had an election that was not honest, the people are losing their freedoms, jobs and businesses. Don’t put this on the President! He tried they blocked him every turn! I’m done with the so called Patriots except President Trump, he will always be my President. God Bless him, he did his best but no one backed him except his supporters and even now some were never true believers.

This mess has just moved the Republican cause way back. So unfortunate, because most liberals just fail to acknowledge all the good Trump has done. Their hatred of him personally has overshadowed good sense.

So many things trouble me about this whole situation. We have seen violence and destruction in major cities for the past year, yet so many government leaders, especially on the left, had no condemnation toward those acts. They weren't concerned about the people who lived there, for their homes or their businesses. However, now that it is at their doorstep and it is to their political advantage, they condemn it. Such hypocrites. And once again they show they will do anything to get rid of President Trump and our constitution. To my knowledge all of Trump protests have been peaceful. Why isn't someone asking why this is different? My opinion, it was a plan and was infiltrated by those with an agenda. I'm heartbroken as well that many leaders who appeared to support President Trump through the years and recognized the plot to get rid of him and the constitution, are now turning against him as well and putting the whole blame of that one night on him. My heart breaks for him. He has fought a good fight for America and I suspect he is pretty much standing alone today. I have no hope in a socialist, or possibly communist government, especially as I age. As the old hymn says "My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus' blood and His righteousness". Even that hope is a hard thing to hang on to these days.

First, Mike, please show me the proof of the election fraud. I have heard so many times of all the evidence that is being gathered that proves "the election was stolen from DT," but I haven't seen it. How can all the evidence be so obscure that it is not recognized by all?

Second, I'm relieved that Mike Pence followed the US Constitution yesterday!

Third, if the outcome of the election were different, and the Dems were doing all that the Republicans/Trump supporters are doing now, how would Republican/Trump supporters respond? Are we ready for this to happen with every election from here on out? The loser will always claim that the election was stolen?

I don't believe these were Trump supporters. Their actions came right out of Antifa guidebook. The capital was left unprotected by police. The mayor already "knew "she was going to need The National Guard. This event was planned a week in advance and the capitol should have been protected as when BLM had their protest. Something smells fishy.

I'm seeing all over social media where Repubs are going to quit voting & have essentially submitted our country into socialism. Well, I'm NOT done & neither should true Patriots be quitting! We have 2 choices. A. Sit back, be lazy & whine for the rest of our lives or B. Be a Patriot, learn some DemonRat techniques to use against them, WORK to be more involved before & during elections (so they can't lock us out), lobby consistently aka be a pain in their backsides until Congress passes voting legislation making elections more transparent (voter ID), get big money involved in development of our own USA developed voting machines which must be corruption free. We've got 2 years to primary weak congressmen & get back the house & senate. 4 yrs to get back our elections! It's going to be a LOT of work but, it's going to take ALL of us to make it happen!

The hypocrisy of the media and Democrats (I repeat myself) is astounding. They tolerate billions of dollars in damages and countless injuries from riots throughout the years that supported their agenda, but a protest in Washington to an illegal election certification immediately invokes their wrath against the protestors and the President. What an absolute joke.
If President Trump failed to drain the swamp what hope is there for Amerika now. We are doomed to be a third rate socialist haven.

Did the dems condemn all the violence last year? If they did I missed it. I did hear the dems call them patriotic protesters, heros, victims..etc. but now they condemn the republican party for this without knowing who was really responsible for it.

I have no valid information about elections or what these men and women in the White House are doing. I am debt free 67 years old financially secure and a veteran. More importantly I am a follower of Christ. It saddens me and the missus. The things we see and hear. So many have no compass because you cannot trust the media or politicians. We pray for workers for the harvest. God is are compass. For this we are thankful.

Peace and joy to you and your family

I don't agree that Pence did the right thing. NOTHING has been constitution since all this fraud from the Left. They have lied, cheated, changed the ballots, added false ballots and now want to blame Trump. The Justice Dept., FBI, Cia, etc. are useless and I hope they choke on the words they spoke to uphold our Constitution. THEY HAVE NOT DONE THAT. The people of this country are being kidnapped by Soros, the Big Tech. Companies, Social Media News, Face Book, Twitter, etc. And they expect us to roll over, smile and accept their lawlessness. Give me a break. Well, maybe when they try and take our guns away, and they will, we will have all out war. I, personally would rather go down fighting than submit to Communism and I am 83 years old.

"His condemnation of this"? Two of the people who were in the capital building have been positively identified as ANTIFA. The whole break-in was orchestrated by BLM and antifa. It's time for everyone to WAKE UP!!! Trumps ban from twitter was more about not letting anyone see what he said so the MSM could spin it into a negative. THIS IS a color revolution. They use the narrative to create a false truth. Turn off the MSM news, and that includes FOX, and look for the truth elsewhere. There is no complete truth on your TV. Barack Obama and a former PM of Italy ran the whole election fraud with 17 pallets, 400 million dollars, of the 1.5 billion in cash that supposedly went to Iran.

first - I am also aghast and dismayed at what transpired yesterday and I do feel President Trump is somewhat responsible due to his words to the crowds. However, I do feel that the leadership of the Democratic party can be held just as accountable due to their actions/inactions after the elections. They all (including the media) have shouted from the rooftops "false allegations regarding election fraud with no proof". I for one have seen plenty of examples of what appears to be pretty extreme measures of fraud potentially significant to cause a different outcome in the election. What I don't understand is how this could actually happen on such a large scale without authorities stepping in at the time of the occurrence. I was hoping that the process yesterday would trigger mandatory third party investigations in these swing states where the issues were in fact documented. If the Democratic leadership is so confident that there were no under the table issues with the process / if President Elect Biden truly wants to represent "all" of the people then why didn't they / he step in and call for an independent investigation to put this to bed and allay the concerns of half the people in the US? Had they / he done that there most likely would have been no march in DC yesterday.
A comment was made this morning that there were 5 times as many police officers in DC for the George Floyd marches than there were yesterday - knowing that this was building up to a boiling point - why were there no more police in force?? i saw one video of police officers actually pulling the blockade at the capital open for the crowds to come through. At this point my feeling is someone wanted the chaos to happen - they got their desired result. the approval process was halted due to what happened and when reconvened the objections subsided i am sure due to the despair caused by everything and guess what - there will be no investigations.
AND - it seems that the election issues rolled into the Georgia election on Tuesday based on reports of Dominion machines going down in "Republican" county strongholds only, Republican count overseers being banned from the rooms in Democratic strongholds, etc..
They also have been all over the fact that President Trump (up until now) has not committed to a peaceful transfer of power. Well guess what, it seems to me that President Trump NEVER had a peaceful transfer of power for the 4 years he was in office.
Based on all of the events surrounding the election and the information I have received and the fact that the Democratic leadership has put their heads in the sand - I can only come to the conclusion in my mind that Joe Biden is NOT the legitimate President of the United States - and that is unfortunate for me and for i am sure 70 million plus other US citizens.

I read that there were some members of antifa and BLM in that group of people. Don't know if that is true. I do not condone violence but on the other hand the Republicans were showing their frustration about the stolen election. I would also like to make my point of view here, the White House, Capitol building and other buildings in DC were if I am not mistaken built using tax payer dollars therefore those buildings belong to "We the People". I don't believe in destroying property of any kind but look at all the property BLM and Antifa destroyed and democrates in DC and all across the US sat no accountability back and did nothing. To quote one mayor in Oregon "they are just having a summer love fest". No accountability .

One of the conservative websites I receive e-mail from said 3 days ago that BLM and Antifa were going to sabotage the Trump supporters yesterday. They were to go to the capitol, not in black, but with red hats, and storm the capitol building. We are all always so quick to condemn Trump for whatever he says/does, that even us conservatives are loosing our focus. We are believing the lies!

Why is Trump Supporter being blame for this. We all know good and well it was not Trump supporter but outsider with Trump hats. Where was this out cry when Atlanta and Missouri and New York was being burn down and everybody calling for defund the police. Where was the concern in Washington when all the judges refuse to hear about election fraud. The Senate and congress sat there drawing their big checks and did nothing to stop all this. This started back when no one put Hillary and her bunch of murdering thieves in prison. Don’t tell me it was Trump fault and if you do you are part of the problem.

I am upset that not one news outlet has the facts yet and are reporting that it was Trump supporters. Do we know that? I am so weary of reports jumping to conclusions.
    I appreciate you, Governor.

Because of the disgrace of Seattle, Ferguson, Kenoshaw, Baltimore, etc. The American people has NO confidence in our government! Not local, state or federal has protected the everyday citizen but given our trust away. Because you gave our trust away we are now supposed to trust you. We don't want a war, we just want the truth and justice. Our government is incapable of this at this point. This makes me sick that we are just going to condemn Trump some more instead of telling how we got here.

Yeah, A) It wasn't "Trump supporters" that stormed the Capitol, it was Antifa. B) This was planned; C) The woman that got murdered by the Capitol police was an innocent Air Force veteran; D) THE GOP IS DEAD--they are the worst, flaccid sellouts.

I am ,as others, aghast at the actions of a few idiots at the Capital. I have read some snippets that the perpetrators were Leftist radicals in disguise. Which , if true, is so typical of the left it seems. I am sad no, scared for the immediate future of our country.

I don't approve of what went on destroying or burning anything. I do believe this might ,just might wake People up to what going on in congress and congress might realize what people are thinking. TRUMP has brought out a lot of the swamp, but did you see how quick our representatives jump back in. Being 84 i have but one thing to say. The guards brought out the wrong one when they cleared the house

The people that charged the White House were totally in the wrong. I feel so sad for President Trump. He tried so hard to help the American people and mostly succeeded. He fought a tough battle and he had most of the Washington establishment against him, and of course the press was always against him too. It is easy to see his frustration at losing the election (and I do believe he actually won it)
