This has been a tough week for America. It’s been an embarrassing and disgusting week for those of us who believe that the recent Presidential election was tainted with unanswered questions about fraud and massive voting irregularities. Whatever hopes we had that there might be a sincere investigation into the evidence that the media claimed didn’t exist was wiped out by a hot-headed mob at our nation’s Capitol. To be clear, of the tens of thousands of protesters and demonstrators who descended on Washington, most really were peaceful, law abiding patriots who love God, their families and their country. But those who stormed our Nation’s Capitol, ignored and fought the police, broke windows and doors and vandalized the offices of members of Congress and the Capitol itself were not patriots. They were a mob. A violent, lawless, and reckless mob engaged in criminal acts. Some of those participating in this mayhem or who tried to defend it tried to compare the actions of the mob to those of our Founders in the American Revolution. The violence at the Capitol this week was not at all like the American Revolution.

The Revolution of 1776 was carefully thought out. It was meticulously planned, and carried out by people who had exhausted all avenues to peacefully secure their liberty and to rid themselves of the intolerable behavior of their mother country, England. They declared their independence in a carefully crafted document and pledged their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor. They did not act spontaneously or compulsively. Their actions were thoroughly contemplated and the consequences were fully understood. What happened this week was carried out by hot-headed people moved by raw rage. There was no rational consideration of the consequences. There are no excuses or explanations for endangering innocent people, destroying public property, and challenging the authority of law enforcement. Even if 95% of that crowd were God-fearing law-abiding citizens who are rightfully angry that their beloved Republic is being taken over by Marxists and the useful idiots in the media who follow along, there is still no justification for the mayhem. Some of the rioters even quoted Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., but Dr. King NEVER got so fed up with the horrible and unjust treatment by the government and said, “That’s it—let’s storm the Capitol and break windows and occupy the chamber.”

The American Revolution indeed became violent and resulted in a war but they were not a mob, who in a blind rage launched something they had no plan to fulfill. They articulated their grievances, requested relief, and only after all possible remedies were rebuffed did they declare independence.

WE must be the voice of reason and rationality. The mob set back the conservative patriotic cause of limited government and a government that provides justice equally. This angry mob of played right into the hands of the press and the left.

I support the many policies President Trump implemented to put America First. I’m glad he stood up to China and Russia, brought manufacturing jobs back to America, cut taxes because he believed that you could spend the money you worked for better than the government, fought to protect the lives of unborn children, protected religious liberty, stood with Israel against those who sought to annihilate her, and who appointed Constitutionalists to the courts. I don’t blame him because some who supported him devolved into criminal activity and tried to take over our nation’s Capitol. But to be fair and honest, his language about the election being stolen probably cost us 2 Senate seats in Georgia and gave some people the false sense that it was justifiable to storm past police barricades and take over the Capitol. Joe Biden will be the next President. It’s not who I voted for but I won’t burn down the country because he’s President. I will speak out for my views and I will faithfully vote in every election. But as disgusted as I was when Black Lives Matter and Antifa followers were burning our cities, looting stores and attacking police officers, I’m equally disgusted when people who may share many of my views do the same thing. I don’t care what their politics are, they are lawless thugs and need to be found, charged and prosecuted. I can’t teach my children and grandchildren to obey the rules of my house if I can’t be trusted to obey the laws of my nation!

Mike YOU are playing into the hands of the Marxist press by glorifying the actions of the few mobsters. You should not promote the actions of those few into the identity of the hundreds of thousands of people assembled, which is what you are doing when you say that they set back the Conservative movement. We know who we are and we are NOT set back. The attacks on us by the media are unjustified and you have joined their ranks.

Governor, your insistence on blaming President Trump for even a small part in the capital riot is infuriating. And to blame his rhetoric for the loss of the Senate seats in Georgia is so ridiculous that I cannot believe you really wrote that. Dominion voting machines, or did you forget about the fraud that was perpetrated upon the American people during the general election.

Gov. Huckabee, you are absolutely correct in your assessment of the mayhem that took place last Wednesday. Once again, you and I are in complete agreement, which explains why I think you should be our next president. I really believe that you would govern in such a manner that would demonstrate that virtue truly does lie within the mean. God bless you, sir.

    Governor Huckabee,

I have always admired you, and I always enjoy seeing you on television and reading your materials. But I must strongly disagree with your emphasis here.

You appear to believe that illegal behavior by Trump supporters has deep-sixed further investigation into election fraud. This was precisely the goal of the Left, whose evil plan was to use Antifa to infiltrate the MAGA rally, breach the building, and goad Trump supporters into following their lead inside. This plan worked perfectly.

The biggest failure of the Trump rally organizers was the failure to anticipate that Antifa would break into the Capitol and that Trump supporters would follow their lead. This should have been anticipated, and the rally attendees should have been specifically warned and instructed about this danger.

Videos on social media show Capital Police opening a fence and ushering people clad in black up to the Capitol Building, people dressed in black scaling a wall, people dressed in black using a riot shield to smash windows, Antifa at the front of the crowd trying to break into the Capitol while Trump supporters shouted to "stop Antifa!", and attempted physically but unsuccessfully to deter them.

It appears that this was an inside job involving Antifa and the Capitol Police; a "false flag" operation designed to get Antifa to the front of the crowd where they could intentionally breach the Capitol building, and use the heat of the moment to then goad some MAGA people inside. A relatively small number of the MAGA crowd did enter the building, and this was inexcusable. But they didn't realize that they were entering a trap set for them by the evil geniuses of the Left.

The fire in the Reichstag building in Berlin on February 27, 1933 is widely believed to have been contrived by the Nazis to discredit their opponents, and to justify a decree the very next day, February 28, 1933, abolishing constitutional protection of political, personal and property rights, leading directly to Hitler's calamitous dictatorship and hence to the Holocaust and World War II.

I fear that a similar strategy has now been successfully used against President Trump and his supporters. Already, Big Tech has been emboldened to ramp up its egregious censorship. Who could have dreamed that the President of the United States of America could ever be muzzled in such a manner? And what further evils may be in store for our great Nation? History offers us the chilling reminders of Germany, Russia, China, North Korea, Cuba, Cambodia, Venezuela and many others. May God protect and preserve us!

Please, I sincerely hope to see you on television and in print, exploring the roles of the Capitol Police and Antifa in perpetrating the incursion into the Capitol building. Yes, some MAGA participants were at fault too. But they were not the instigators. The evil that was done here must be brought to light, and you are in a unique and powerful position to do so.

May Almighty God protect, guide and preserve you, and shower you with many blessings.

    Sincerely,

    Stephen B. Frew

As bad as the actions of a few were on Wednesday, we see the actions of the elite left using the tactics of John Adams who fostered the Aliens and Seditions Act which still is in the US Code. The Federalists used it to squelch speech with which they did not agree. The social media is doing the same thing, though claiming the right to do so because they are private companies, THey need to be treated not as publishers as much a they really are public utilities with near monopolies in the market place.

Dear Governor - I do not condone senseless violence and rioting by thugs. I do approve of righteous anger - Jesus even overturned tables and called out vipers and hypocrites. I have been listening to Dutch Sheets for 65 days now and have not given up on righteousness prevailing. There are things worth fighting for - our kids and grandkids for one, for family, marriage and the unborn. These WILL be gone if we give up and future generations of OURS will suffer. We cannot give up - we cannot let them down. Let them know we did not cave. I am NOT speaking of violence. This is a spiritual war - our words make a difference and are heard by satan (small s for a small entity that he is). Please, sir, don't give up or even sound like you are. I will pray for encouragement for you. It is not over until God says its is. Great regards and respect for you. Peggy

I want to know your thoughts on all the reports I am getting about people being arrested and going to jail and President Trump still going to be our president come the 20th. Last video I watched said this has been planned for a long time. It sure needs to be done or all the patriots that voted for Trump will figure it was for nothing if they let all the fraud go. This has to be stopped and I hope all the reports I am seeing are true!

I certainly agree with you, there is absolutely no justification for the ugly anti- law behavior seen when an unruly mob desecrated our country's Capitol. Some of it can be blamed on the so-called judges who refused to accept the pro Trump lawyers suing for voting redress with many witnesses to questionable voting irregularities and many with valid sworn affidavits to probable illegal balloting. However, none of that excuses the rioting.

I keep seeing the same article over and over about how we all hate violence. OK. We need to stop talking about yesterday and start focusing on how can we change the course of our country without violence. One idea is to stop complaining about Apple, Fox News, Twitter and Facebook. JUST TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. Somebody out there would like to pick up 75 million new customers. The best way to beat our enemies is to start hitting them in the wallet. When sports got too political, everyone stopped watching. Another idea, Republicans who do not fight for the constitution and the rule of law need to be voted out or recalled. No mercy! I am open to any ideas! But I am done with talk. I want some new strategies.

I'm right there with you Mike. Thanks for your rock solid faith and reasoning. I am from Arkansas and know you are a man of integrity and faith. Millions of us who supported Trump are very shocked and dismayed by what happened last week. A few lost their heads and fell into a carefully laid trap and blew our credibility across the board in this country. As frustrating as the situation of not being given a hearing on election fraud was, there was no excuse for thug behavior. We must pray and seek God's wisdom and direction for the days ahead ,pray for our leaders, and work within the legal strictures and pathways to regain traction.
The way forward will be hard-but even with this setback and a time for self examination but with God's wisdom and grace we need not be discouraged but find a new way forward.
I look forward to reading your columns every day as many of us do. Thanks for keeping us abreast on current issues and buoying our faith.
God is still on the throne,Jesus is still coming , and God calls us to be faithful to His Word. His Kingdom first, our nation second. God Bless America.

Where was Biden when our cities were burning? Taking a nap in his basement! Biden never stood against BLM or Antifa and called the latter an “idea.” MSM lapped it up!
I don’t like the riot that happened either and we may never know just how many Antifa thugs were involved. The right has radicals just as the left does but the left win as no side has done more damage to this great nation and infected all its institutions than they have.
I may note that nothing was stolen and nothing was burned. Yes, it was a truly tragedy that several did die.
I believe last week’s event was yet another set up to make our President look bad (as we know he had nothing to do with it!) and once again the Democrats use it to their advantage. If there was no riot they would find another reason because their hate of him and love of power is that intense!
The language our President uses is strong and direct. He is not a politician as he accomplished much (as promised) and got things reformed! He doesn’t mince words and gets his point across to all no matter their education level. He is truly the People’s President!
Both the Presidential and Georgia Senate run-off elections were stolen and half the country will never be convinced otherwise. The virus, along with mail-in ballots, ballot harvesting, and those Dominion machines (that we now know can be hacked) all were the stars of those elections!
People are angry. People are frustrated. People must obey laws but there will always be those who do not.
Biden will be rigged in as president but he won’t be running the show. He is the ultimate puppet for the left who will be told what to say and how to say it…same goes for Harris.

Mike, overall a good commentary. You said our great Revolution in 1776 was carefully planned—and I agree, but I’m afraid you failed by saying the Capitol attack was spontaneous. This malicious and anarchist assault was carefully planned by members of terrorist groups, seen by witnesses who said they were unloaded from bus(es). Video footage of the initial thugs who vandalized, stormed into the capital and went inside the chambers show most not to be Trump loyalists, but known ANTIFA and BLM supporters. Furthermore, camera footage suggests some capitol police played no part in resisting the intruders. It is way too early to opine this dark day in history until the facts emerge.
I wish to strongly disagree that President Trump is responsible for the violence and the senatorial losses in Georgia. The word “stolen” is an accurate adjective to describe the 2020 election. Words like “irregularities” and other mushy labels are cowardly ways to skirt the evidence. The runoff election in my state of Georgia was lost not by Trump, but from extensive voter fraud and a corrupt Governor and Secretary of State, the same as happened on Nov 3rd. Many fellow republicans DID NOT VOTE because they knew the outcome ahead of time and didn’t wish to waste their time.
You have always been a person I have admired as a godly and honest Christian, but you greatly disappoint me in your above mentioned comments that suggest a lukewarm stance. Hope I’m wrong.

"The American Revolution indeed became violent and resulted in a war but they were not a mob, who in a blind rage launched something they had no plan to fulfill. They articulated their grievances, requested relief, and only after all possible remedies were rebuffed did they declare independence."

We are not even permitted to articulate our grievances anymore, Mr. Huckabee. And we were not permitted to do so, even before a group of hot-heads "stormed the Capitol." Conservatives have not been permitted an equal voice in the public square, or equal protection under the law, for over 30 years! Please, kindly point out some "possible remedies" that have not already been "rebuffed." Because "voting in one's local election" and petitioning one's local governance is about as useful as tilting at windmills, when the very act of doing so in some places can get you stripped of your job, harassed, doxxed, threatened and assaulted. Are you even living in the same "America" that the average citizen had been forced to endure for the past twelve-to-sixteen years?

Nobody - no sane person on this planet - wants violence! Nobody wants "Revolution!" The problem is the insanity on the Left has enshrined violence and Alinsky-style revolution both, provided that it is exercised against the appropriate "Neo-Nazi, evil, fascist, white supremacist" demographic otherwise known as Conservatives! The rampantly liberal courts have no interest in upholding equal justice, the laws do NOT apply to those in power or to those on the Left, the Media consistently parrots rhetoric straight out of the Third Reich in an effort to silence dissent! And now mass censorship?

What other "possible remedies" do you imagine exist, besides seeking "independence" from a corrupt, self-serving, violent, hostile system of authoritarian "government" that would make slaves of us all? This nation is not governed by the US Constitution - it is ruled by the Globalist, Plutocratic Elites in DC and Silicon Valley and by the whims of the ultra-liberal populations of about 16 cities. "We the People" no longer have a voice. Address that "grievance," please. Preferably with more than bread-and-circus promises and vague suggestions of "maybe someday."

I am a long-time Republican and a huge supporter of Josh Hawley but I must admit that he blew it! He has lost many Missourians, many of his largest financial supporters and contributed to a fist-raising photo that will haunt him, and other Republicans, throughout his career......however short it must now appear. Not only did he pick the wrong argument, but his timing could not have been worse. When John Danforth disowns you and your two largest financial contributors resolve never to fund another dime of your future campaigns, it is time for some serious thought, action and humility. To most Americans, he is demonstrating the same egotism and narcissism that Trump has. That may not have been his intention, but perception is reality. He is doomed, if he does not shake something up.
Gov. Huckabee, because of your stature and reputation in the party, you may be asked/offer some counsel to Sen. Hawley. My strong suggestion is for Sen. Hawley to "fall on his sword". He owes every Missourian, those who have supported him and the nation a very sincere apology. As a man of faith, surely you must know the power of a sincere apology.
It clears the soul, provides peace to your mind and strengthens your character.
Thanks for providing the rational leadership this country so desperately needs.

I am a Republican and have been one for a long time. In no way could I condone or support the democratic party and it's policies. I hold to more conservativepolicies and family values. My problem was Mr. Trump from the begining. We kept making excuses for his communication, insults, and disrespect. In no way did he represent this country as a president. I voted for you because I believed in what you stood for. I was severly distressed when you seemed to endorse all the crazies that the president did. I read an article from one of the leaders of the Texas Republican party heartily endorsing the behavior and individuals who had participated in the capitol debacle again citing severe partisan positions in battle terms. It is a little late to publicly denouce what happened. I voted Republican all the way except for Mr. Trump. He is out of contro. I could not. I did not vote for Biden either. If Mr. trump had not gone down to Ga., we might have had a chance. It is time to accept a blue wave for now, regroup and restate and reestablish public belief in more conservative values. We lost and we did it to ourselves. The fact that people stormed the capitol with a JESUS banner...what message does that give. Governor,
I am so grieved that we now have equally violent and extreme loud voices and active voices in both camps. If we cannot find middle ground, we will need survival food. I gave 20 years of my life to the US military. None of this is what I fought for. None of this is truth. with all respect, we deserve better from our leaders and you. You raised a voice for babies, faith, family, the constitution and it's traditional interpretation, but you gave and supported an egotistical business wth a free hand. You are a voice that is believed. We have to do better.

How could the officials in Washington not know the extent of the actions. I knew a week before from several sources exactly what was going down and told to get gas, get food, and get candles. Why did Joe Biden go on tv first ahead of our president to deal with onslaught. Now we go and arrest people when they are home. None of this speaks to country that I served.

Mike, How can you believe that the riot in any way allows VP Pence to commit treason by probably not mentioning one word of fraud at Senate that certified fraudulent election. How can you blame Trump for talking about fraud, when it existed. Are you silenced like everyone else being crushed. I would not blame you if you were afraid to talk fraud because it is awful to watch the best President deceived like this. The few honest people are being crushed and will never work again.

Your words are what the majority of Trump supporters are thinking. I gave thought to unregistering to vote, note voting in any election coming up until PA does the unregistering for me, but I realize that I have thought PA elections are rigged since 1992 (when I first registered) and I continue to vote. I am a proud Republican and plan to continue on as such. I will not live in fear of what the Democrats are doing but will continue to see that those not registered, do so to make change happen. I will be more diligent with my vote and research every candidate from here on. Thank you so much for the voice of reason. You are the reason I have some faith, it's starting to fade because I can't believe that God could allow the things happening to happen (especially to innocent children).
