I’m disgusted with a small and selfish group of Republicans who probably feel they are “Spartacus” but the movie best fitting them is “The Gang Who Couldn’t Shoot Straight.”

Several of these hold-outs (I should say “hold-ups”) are friends and I supported and campaigned for many.  I won’t be in the future.  The simple of rule of politics is that you take your stand, but if you don’t have enough following to lead, then recognize that you simply didn’t sell your ideas very well.  Less than 20 GOP members of Congress are stopping 200 of their fellow Republicans from getting about the business of investigating corruption in the White House, FBI, DOJ, and in Congress itself.  Instead, without being able to articulate a specific reason for their objections, they have blocked the election of Kevin McCarthy as Speaker and in so doing making the Republicans look like a bunch of 6 year olds who refuse to play unless the majority surrenders to the tantrums of the few.

Is Kevin McCarthy perfect?  Of course not.  But he has faithfully worked to recruit candidates, help fund them, and get them elected.  The ultimate outrage is that some he helped win and raised funds for now have shown they really DO think it’s about them and not the bigger principles of the conservative movement.

Dr. E. V. Hill, longtime CA pastor used to say “If you think you’re a leader and you look behind you and no one is following, you aren’t a leader—you’re just out for a walk.”  The actions of the petulant circle of “Never-Kevins” don’t amount to enough votes to get close to winning.  But they may have enough to make sure their own team loses.  These guys are setting fire to their own hosue, but they are arsonists who didn’t even have fire insurance.  The mission is just “burn it down.”  And in so doing, empowering the very Democrats some of us worked very hard to put in the minority.

We did NOT work to blow up our own opportunity to take on the Pelosi, Schiff, Nadler, and Squad team, but that’s the effect of the actions of the camera hungry Congress members who may deep down believe they are more “principled” than everyone else, but have shown a startling level of political immaturity.

If the tiny crowd of political tots can’t convince a majority of their peers to follow them off the cliff, they should have the self-awareness to admit they fired their best shot and simply missed the target.  Now it’s time to fight for the American people.  If after taking leadership, Kevin and company don’t deliver, you might be able to make a better case for lighting the fuse to the bomb to blow up the place.

We need ALL conservatives, including you, to support a REAL conservative for Speaker. NO MORE RINOs!!! I'm surprised that you support McCarthy as he is a huge RINO! When one of his staffers came to our Kings River Conservative meeting, almost the whole room agreed with me when I said McCarthy shouldn't be Speaker. One issue I brought up was all the political prisoners being held in a filthy gulag in D.C. Only two Republican members of Congress have been to visit them, and McCarthy was NOT one of those two!! He, and most of Congress, has shown absolutely NO concern for these prisoners, most of whom are being held on tresspass charges, for almost 2 years! It's unacceptable and unAmerican!!!

And thank you for speaking clearly and plain.

Well said! I could not agree with you more. Republicans need to throw out the Rinos (otherwise known as Democrats who have infiltrated the Republican party) and throw out the "spoiled children" who not only shoot themselves in the foot but all of us with them. Surely we can find better people to run and then we need to SUPPORT them.

Keep up the good work and may God bless you and yours.

Perhaps it is McCarthy that has failed to lead. His body of work has created this problem. He should grovel a little bit in due respect to the people that have suffered under his RINO "so called leadership". Keep up the good work Mike.

After watching today's video from "And We Know" I revise my opinion about Jim Jordan for Speaker of the House and support Kevin McCarthy. I agree that Jim Jordan will be of more use doing as he is and unity is the most Important thing.

Are the “holdouts” perfect? No. Do they have good reason for what they are doing? Absolutely. I’m disappointed in your stance that you are disgusted and won’t campaign for them in the future. I have believed for quite some time now that McCarthy is a career politician and establishment republican. I want someone who will fight for conservative ideals and not bow to the demands of democrats. I don’t trust that McCarthy is that person. I support what they are doing. If we always do what we have always done, we’ll continue to get what we’ve always gotten.

I personally applaud the 20 Republicans who have the fortitude & courage to stand for against the D.C. swamp. McCarthy could be Speaker if he would make certain concessions (like ending the reckless spending by Congress (think 87,000 new IRS agents and/or $32 trillion national debt). We do not need another Paul Ryan that "goes along to get along." Or how about McCarthy signing a Contract With America II?
The truly sad part is that we did not have enough RINO's with enough courage in the Senate to fire Mitch McConnell. Spending other people's money equals power and a sure seat in Congress.

Totally agree with you Mike. This is a battle of seeing who can be more stupid Democrats or Republicans. We won the House and 20 or so clowns on the right are letting the voters that gave them the victory down. They should be getting on with the business we put them there to do instead of foolish squabbling over who the leader is going to be. Good grief is everyone going mad in DC? We are all sick of the politics get your butts to work and stop being idiots.
