2. Even Nancy Condemns China...:
The Winter Olympics began yesterday, and while I hope that all our US athletes dominate, I join with those who are upset that the Games are being held in China. It’s giving a worldwide propaganda platform to a nation that’s distinguished itself in recent years not just for being the source of a worldwide pandemic, but for religious persecution, slave labor, genocide, human rights violations, crackdowns on free speech, massive public surveillance efforts and military aggression toward its neighbors.
It’s so bad that even House Speaker Nancy Pelosi condemned China and urged corporations to speak out against the oppressive government.
However, she had very different advice for US athletes who are actually going to China. She said, “I know there is a temptation on the part of some to speak out while they are there. I respect that, but I also worry about what the Chinese government might do to their reputations, to their families… Do not risk incurring the anger of the Chinese government because they are ruthless.”
Liberals have never told athletes not to make political statements before; in fact, they’ve encouraged it. And this is certainly the perfect time, and the perfect stage, in which to call out China. Being afraid to speak out against such brutality and injustice is not the American way, or at least it didn’t used to be. But to be fair, I can understand her concern about the athletes’ safety, even though some say China wouldn’t risk the backlash of retaliating while a global spotlight is shining on them.
In the end, it’s going to be up to each athlete to decide how to deal with China, although I have to assume that if any of them don’t understand what an oppressive surveillance state it is, the way they’ll be treated while they’re there should give them a clue. It’s up to them to let their consciences be their guides.
If nothing else, it is a positive development that even Nancy Pelosi is now on record as condemning China and calling on US corporations to stop groveling and stand up to them.
3. Latest dispatch from America’s most notorious school district, Loudoun County, Virginia:
Rape a classmate in the girls’ bathroom and they’ll cover for you. Show up at school without a facemask and they’ll charge you with a felony and send you to jail for a year.
4. “Rock And Roll” Hall of Fame Nominees Revealed

The “Rock and Roll” Hall of Fame just released its list of nominees for 2022 inductions. They include such venerable “rockers” as Eminem, Dolly Parton, Dionne Warwick, Carly Simon and Lionel Richie. Now you know why I put the quotes around “Rock and Roll.”

In a related story, Jethro Tull, which still isn’t in the “Rock and Roll” Hall of Fame, just celebrated their 55th year by releasing their 22nd studio album, “The Zealot Gene,” which is getting rave reviews.

But yeah, by all means, let’s induct Eminem, Dolly Parton, Lionel Richie and Dionne Warwick. Rock On!!!

6. The Border: This Is Their Plan:
Do you think that having America’s borders opened wide and tens of thousands of unvetted, possibly criminal illegal immigrants pouring in, with many of them being dispersed across the nation by secret air flights, is a bad thing? Well, then, you’re definitely at odds with the Biden Administration officials in charge of overseeing immigration, who believe that “this is how government is supposed to work” and that the destruction of our border security measures was “a beautiful thing to watch” and who brag that “No one heard about it because it ran so smoothly.”
I am not making this up. Yes, those are direct quotes from an unnamed Biden official to (believe it or not) the New Yorker magazine.
So when you hear Biden say anything about “getting the border under control,” remember, he not only has no intention whatsoever of doing that, but opening it up and flooding America with illegal entrants was the plan from the beginning, and behind closed doors, they’re high-fiving each other over how well it’s going. To them, the destruction of America's border security is not a problem, it’s a goal they've achieved.
Of course, we all knew they had no serious intentions of fixing border security when they put Kamala Harris in charge of it. She’s avoided the border so completely that she no longer even eats at On The Border. She not only can’t keep illegal aliens out, she can’t even keep her own staffers in.
