Hurricanes

By Mike Huckabee

Tropical Storm Ida grew into a hurricane Friday, and it’s predicted to be a category 4 before making landfall on Sunday. Parts of New Orleans and some other Gulf Coast areas are under evacuation orders. Meanwhile, parts of Mexico and California are bracing for the arrival of Hurricane Nora from the Pacific.

If you are in the paths of any dangerous storms, please watch the weather news closely and don’t take chances. Be ready to evacuate if needed or take any necessary precautions and preparations. And don’t forget to take care of your animals, too.

Credit Where It’s Due

By Mike Huckabee

The Biden Administration finally did something right in Afghanistan, ordering a drone strike that killed one man believed to be a member of the ISIS-K splinter group who was allegedly involved in planning the suicide bomb attack on Kabul Airport.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9934849/Pentagon-launches-drone-strikes-Islamic-State-Afghanistan.html

It was as if Biden finally woke up and realized that the United States military actually has some options and doesn’t have to just stand around like a punching bag and take orders from the Taliban. Let’s hope this reminder puts a little starch in his spine in other areas.

Retaliation

By Mike Huckabee

Unfortunately, that drone strike wasn’t the only retaliation that the Administration launched. Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller knew he was risking his career by speaking out against the military leadership's disastrous bungling of the Afghanistan pullout. But as a 17-year career infantryman who knew one of the Marines killed in Kabul, he felt he had no choice. What was the unconscionable thing he said? The Democrats’ Kryptonite: he demanded accountability. He asked why none of Biden’s top military advisers told him not to go through with this obviously flawed plan. And for that, he’s now been relieved of his post as company commander for Advanced Infantry Training Battalion at Camp Lejune.

https://townhall.com/tipsheet/katiepavlich/2021/08/27/marine-officer-relieved-of-duty-after-questioning-leadership-on-afghanistan-n2594904

Let me repeat that, to make it clear: None of the incompetent, PC-obsessed top military leaders with their chests full of meaningless Gilbert & Sullivan decorations who stood by and did nothing as Biden instituted a clearly disastrous pullout plan have been fired, nor did they do the honorable thing and resign. But a Lt. Colonel who earned his rank has been fired for daring to ask for accountability.

To his credit, Scheller didn’t complain. He knew the risks and said his chain of command did what he would have done.

https://www.foxnews.com/us/marine-afghanistan-senior-leaders-accountability

I understand the idea of military discipline and not questioning orders, but in a case like this, where the top decision makers so thoroughly blew it that they made General Custer look like a tactical genius, retaliating against people who dare to voice legitimate criticism just looks like the actions of tinpot dictators who try to cover their failures by silencing their critics. If it's your duty to speak up, then how can you defend silence? And while mutiny may be a court martial offense, what choice do you have when you’ve got Captain Queeg at the wheel?

But it’s not just Lt. Col. Scheller. The Office of Naval Intelligence sent out a warning to active duty and even retired service members that they are not allowed to express “disrespect” for senior government leadership, including the President, Vice President, Secretary of Defense, Congress and more.

https://www.dailywire.com/news/exclusive-active-duty-retired-naval-intelligence-members-told-they-cannot-disrespect-biden-over-afghanistan-debacle

Thankfully, I’m not an ONI veteran, so I can tell you precisely what I think of the lot of them. Except I don’t have to because Kurt Schichter already did it for me in his latest column, simply entitled, “RESIGN”:

https://townhall.com/columnists/kurtschlichter/2021/08/27/resign-n2594830?270

I will add that I find it particularly galling that some of the same generals who helped Biden create this disaster had no problem with “disrespecting” a President when they were actively working to undermine President Trump.

Wrong

By Mike Huckabee

The State Department denied President Biden’s claim that the US might have given the Taliban a list of Americans and Afghan allies so they could “help usher” them to the Kabul airport. Some were calling that a “kill list.” But a State Department spokesman said, "The idea that we are providing names or personally identifiable information to the Taliban in a way that exposes anyone to additional risk, that is simply wrong, simply wrong,"

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/state-department-contradicts-bidens-remarks-that-there-may-be-a-kill-list-provided-to-taliban

I agree it would be wrong, but that doesn’t reassure me that this Administration didn’t do it.

Must-read story

By Mike Huckabee

This could make a heck of a movie someday, if Hollywood ever gets over hating America. You have to read the incredible story of “Task Force Pineapple,” the heroic group of all-volunteer Special Forces Afghan War veterans who took it upon themselves to do what President Biden wouldn’t and launched a daring rescue mission to bring 630 of our Afghan allies and their families to the Kabul Airport.

    re: Credit where it's due--
Sir, are you blind here?---This is a diversion--a calculated weak response to the massive ineptitude this administration has demonstrated--executed in response to the overwhelming negative narrative(and well deserved) backlash to this boggled exit from Afganistan.
Some have compared this to the Vietnam (Hanoi) Airlift-I will tell you this--that operation essentially went on without a glitch(compared to this current botched operation)--I was there dude, so don't give me any metaphors about how the brass claimed it proceeded--you are listening to the wrong people.
This current administration has committed clear treasonous activities-they have purposelessly given the enemy our US Citizen, and our allies' identifying data. They have purposelessly given the enemy our military sensitive hardware and operating systems--the military command has failed in their mission to protect this Country, grovelling to the whims of the unhinged -so-called 'Commander in Chief"--without so much as a "Sir, I don't think this is a good Idea"-------
Wonder why there are so many VETS that have a problem with this!!!

    re: retaliation-
This is the norm for this administration--a continuation of the failed bengazi debacle--people screaming for help and none was there--because hillary couldn't stand it that her failed "policy" was coming back to haunt her--she(and her boss) sacrificed the lives of those folks because of her callous disregard, and her holier than thou attitude. We are now witnessing the very same policy and character in the current admins actions--they don't seem to learn from history, do they?--but then again--they are NoT interested in their past failings--they are trying to rewrite that--in our schools and in the paid off media--sadly the masses believe this drivel.
Maybe--just maybe, this time the assholes have finally tripped the turning point--leaving our own behind in a terrorist country is not what the maj of Americans can stomach--turning over our military hardware to terrorists is not something most Americans can stomach--
It is clear, this administration is "Aiding and Abetting" the enemy - that is clearly defined in our Constitution as Treason---impeachment is not even an option here--Charges of Treason need to be brought for every member of the this corrupt administration--and that most certainly includes the HReps and Senators who support these treasonous actions--

The ONI directive telling active and retired naval personnel they cannot disrespect Biden, Austin or Milley is nauseating, but not unexpected. The two-star tin-pot who runs ONI is probably at the bottom layer of the PC warriors who were selcted by the Obama administration to take over and "lead" the US military. (I put "lead" in quotes, because the first thing they teach you at Army Officer Candidate School is that if no one is following you, you are not a leader).

The ONI "leader"obviously knows little about respect. While we all have an obligation to treat each other respectfully, you cannot order someone to respect another.

Respect, like it's flip side, con tempt is not given, it is earned. I think the British Parliament already expressed my feelings, holding Biden in contempt.

Mike, it's always interesting to read your articles, your humor is contagious! Although, last few days, have been rather grim; sad news, but thankful you keep us informed. Forgive my skepticism, but the attack on ISIS-K came so soon after Biden's grand standing about "hunting" them down. No details are given and the lies this government has told and all the misleading...sorry, don't buy it. They may have hit something, but I don't believe it's who they say it is...just sayin'. Sincerely, Pru Cox

Keep it Up Governor: Your voice resonates further than any of us who have served and even though my service was 60 years ago I felt like someone kicked me in the Gut!
The Firing of another Lt.Col this time Stuart Scheller along with Matthew Lohmeier tells me the Brass O-7 up, may have been to academy they have become Politicized and are now just Political Pawns and they need to RESIGN in Disgrace before another Patriot becomes CIC and FIRES them without benefits.

Gov Huckabee: I find it interesting that President Trump went on Hannity and stated clearly that he intended to keep the Bagram Airbase open. Bagram is a highly defensible location, unlike the airport at Kabul. Am guessing that: 1) Trump's plan for Afghanistan is on-record and in writing, and thus can be reviewed, analyzed, and compared with Biden's plan (if there is or was one?). 2) Essentially, the same top generals that participated in formulating and agreeing to President Trump's plan are also pretty much the same top generals that are now working for Biden. That takes us to the questions of: 1) What changes of the plan were made? 2) How were they changed? and most importantly, 3) Did the same top generals that bought into President Trump's plan agree to the changes made to get to Biden's obviously failed plan? Would love to see these generals, and others testify before Congress, under oath. Finally, how, and why did we get into a situation where we were relying upon the Taliban for security. True, it is in the Taliban's best interest to help us get out of Afghanistan, but it is even more in their best interest to help us to allow ourselves to get lured into a precarious indefensible position that they could exploit and embarrass us. Trump would NEVER have allowed us to get into such a position. Again, would like to see the top generals and other decision makers testify under oath in front of congress about this fiasco.

It is so good to hear that some in the military, who have the skills, are doing what MUST be done to save the lives of those left behind, in spite of the recalcitrance and downright resistance of the US State Department and Administration. The obliviousness and disconnected nature of our leaders with the regard to the lives of it's own nationals and others at risk of humanitarian abuses as torture, rape, execution and worse is unfathomable to me. This is supposed to be America, land of the free and home of the brave, you know, that leader during WW1, WW2 and Korea who fought for freedom and the lives of the oppressed?
SHAME on this leadership. Though their actions are abominable, I pray that their hearts and eyes may be opened to the utter horror that they are enabling by their incompetence.

Two items discussed....1. We should have sent something substantially larger than a drone to attack the terrorist...we should send air attacks to destroy all, ALL the arms and aircraft left behind and 2. Why don't I believe the State Dept?
