Attention, Fellow Conservatives!
Please note that liberals who have been calling us Hitler and Nazis for years, and who constantly compared Donald Trump to Hitler, are horribly offended that anyone would dare minimize the horrors of Nazism by comparing Justin Trudeau to Hitler.
I’m glad to see they are finally waking up to how offensive it is to compare your political opponents to Hitler. Maybe they’ll even stop doing it themselves someday. In the meantime, I plead innocent to ever comparing Trudeau to Hitler. I compared him to Fidel Castro, which fits a lot better.
However, if he doesn’t want to be compared to any German leaders, he might want to stop trying to turn Ottawa into a 21st century version of Cold War Berlin. In his latest moves to crush the peaceful protesters of his rigid COVID policies, he’s imposed virtual martial law, he’s freezing the bank accounts of people who support the protesters without due process, he’s having protest leaders arrested…

And to complete the East Berlin comparisons, he’s now established “No-Go Zones” with over 100 police checkpoints, where you have to “show your papers” to prove you’re allowed to enter that part of the city.
Trudeau hilariously said what he’s doing is “about keeping Canadians safe, protecting people’s jobs and restoring confidence in our institutions.” Ironic, considering his policies are causing clashes and deep divisions and destroying jobs, and he’s done more damage to the image of Canada and its police than anyone since Dudley Doright. At least Dudley was just a goofy cartoon good guy; he wasn’t trying to become a cartoon villain by even threatening to seize people’s pets.

One story I heard summed up Trudeau’s elitist arrogance well. A trucker said he’d tried to move some funds to buy feed for his cattle, only to find his bank accounts had been frozen without notice. Does that mean his cattle will starve to death? Nice move, Justin. What are all the elitists like you who look down on the peasants who produce your food going to do when you go to a fancy restaurant (the kind you frequent, where the staff has to mask up but you don’t) only to find there is no steak tartare or filet mignon? Order sushi instead? Or a veggie burger? What if the fishermen, farmers and factory workers are as fed up with you as the truckers are?
In recent years, the college-educated, tech money/political elitist class have deluded themselves into thinking they’re a lot more important than they really are. Personally, I don’t know anyone who wouldn’t be happier with fewer politicians, but we all need ranchers, farmers and truckers. If they decide they’ve had enough of being bullied, the elitists will soon have to get a lot less picky about what they eat.
Since Trudeau seems determined to look back at 20th century Germany as his role model for governance, I suggest that he screen the classic 1927 German silent film, “Metropolis.”
It’s about a futuristic city where arrogant elitists on the surface enjoy their privileges, with no gratitude for the exploited underclass that slaves away deep underground, maintaining the giant machines that make the city run. When those workers finally have enough of the abuse and the machines start to break down, the easy life of their self-proclaimed betters gets a lot harder really fast. See if you can find a moral in there somewhere, Justin.

As a number of commentators have observers, the workers of the world are finally uniting, and the socialists are terrified of it.
The Hits Keep on Comin’
Polls for the Democrats are getting so low, they’re starting to resemble a limbo contest at an Invertebrates’ Convention. I’ve covered quite a few, like the latest Morning Consult poll that’s usually one of the friendlier ones for Biden showing his approval rating dropping into the 30s. But the hits just keep on comin’.

A shocking new Berkeley IGS poll found that Biden is even underwater in California now, with 47% approval to 48% disapproval. That’s a steep drop from 62%/34% last April. Worse, Kamala Harris has a 38%/46% approval/disapproval rating, and she’s actually from California!
Things aren’t much better for Biden anywhere else. A new poll of registered voters found there are only four states where Biden’s approval is higher than his disapproval: Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts and Vermont. Even there, most of the margins are very slim. Only in Vermont, the state that elected socialist Bernie Sanders, does Biden’s approval rating reach as high as 50%.
As for all those threats by Democrats against Joe Manchin if he doesn’t do what Biden wants him to, he can safely laugh in their faces. Polls show Manchin is very popular in West Virginia, but that was the state where Biden has the lowest approval rating of all: 17% approval to 78% disapproval. Black lung disease is more popular in West Virginia than Joe Biden.
Faced with the prospect of walking into an electoral wood chipper, the Democrats are frantically searching for any lifeline to try to turn things around. Fortunately, some of their top consultants are once again misleading them by trying to claim they just have a “messaging” problem (it’s never that their policies are disasters, it’s just that the evil conservative media blocks them from telling people how successful they are.)
Since it’s going to be hard to convince voters that open borders, rampant crime and endless freedom-crushing COVID mandates are a smashing success, consultants are reportedly advising Democrats to get out there and do what politicians do best: lie their heads off. They’re being advised to “correct the record” by denying those crazy Republican claims that they support policies like defunding the police, releasing criminals, pushing CRT in schools, ending deportations and not securing the borders. Sure, that’ll work. Who are you going to believe, them or your own eyes?
As long as Democrats keep supporting these divisive, destructive policies, there’s only one lie that might help them get reelected: putting an (R) instead of a (D) next to their names on the ballot.
Amazon Smile Removes BLM
Amazon Smile, Amazon.com’s charity fundraising program, has removed Black Lives Matter from the list of organizations that can receive a portion of sales. Amazon said BLM was “temporarily suspended” because they’re out of compliance with charity laws in several states for failing to disclose what they did with the tens of millions of dollars donated to them.
Well, aside from the 100 grand they just put up as bail to release a Louisville BLM activist and alleged “anti-gun advocate” accused of shooting a Jewish mayoral candidate.
At the link, Matt Vespa of Townhall.com has a good write-up of the Amazon story, along with this perfect description: “Watchdog groups have characterized BLM’s finances as a ghost ship full of treasure with no one in the conning tower. There is no crew. There is no captain. It’s adrift, with around $60 million in the bank.”
Sounds like the kind of ship that's run by pirates.
Complete Agreement
Mark down February 17, 2022, in the annals of history. That’s the date when Rep. Ilhan Omar and Mike Huckabee were in complete agreement! Omar tweeted her condemnation of reporters who are using an illegally-hacked donor list to dox people who made “insignificant contributions” to the Canadian protesters and subjected them to harassment. She wrote, “It’s unconscionable and journalists need to do better.”
I’m genuinely stunned, but credit where it’s due. The only part of that I disagree with is her calling the people who are doing this “journalists.”
Endemic in California
Raise your hands, everyone who thought that after the pandemic was over, California Gov. Gavin Newsom would give up those “emergency” powers instead of continuing to abuse them to impose his “progressive,” anti-capitalist political agenda.
Really, no hands? Nobody at all believed that? Good, then you’ve been reading this newsletter every day!
Turning Canada into Cuba
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is ramping up his efforts to turn Canada into Cuba with blizzards. His crackdown on the peaceful truckers’ freedom protest has now resulted in the arrest of over 100 protesters, who are being told their identity information will be given to banks to block their financial transactions and/or seize their bank accounts without due process.
Meanwhile in Ottawa, mounted police in riot gear, some carrying guns, pushed into a crowd that included children. There was a report of an officer beating a protester with a rifle butt. An early report of someone dying was later retracted.
The police chief insists that nobody was injured, but video appears to show people, including an elderly woman, being trampled by the horses.
The police chief claimed someone threw a bicycle at the horses, but video doesn’t appear to show the protesters engaging in any assaults on police, even as they were pepper-sprayed. A far cry from the BLM protests that Trudeau supported.
One journalist, Andrew Lawton of True North, was maced. His editor-in-chief says they’re preparing to sue the Ottawa Police and Trudeau for assault and targeting a working journalist.
If Trudeau thought that treating Canadian truckers and elderly women like Beijing treats dissidents was going to make him more popular, it seems to be backfiring. A new poll shows that support for the Conservative party has shot up by 10 points.
Several commentators have pointed out that this started with “Two weeks to slow the spread” and two years later, it’s “Do what I say or I'll crush you and destroy your life!” What’s really the deadliest disease: COVID-19 or too much power in the hands of leftists?
Related: In the midst of Trudeau’s crackdown on peaceful freedom protesters, Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs took time to issue a statement of concern for pro-democracy activists who are being targeted by China in Hong Kong. Well, it’s good to see the Canadians haven’t lost their famous knack for ironic humor.
VP Harris in charge
It seems rather odd that our own federal authorities are assuring us that Russia is going to invade Ukraine even before it’s happened. But no more odd, I suppose, than putting Kamala Harris in charge of defending the sovereignty of Ukraine’s national border. Fox News has continually updated bulletins at this link:

I won’t comment too much, since the news changes so often and so quickly. But I’ll just point out, as I did before, that whatever Russia does appears to be entirely at the discretion of Vladimir Putin, with our White House merely reacting to it. Putin’s in the driver’s seat, which is what happens when the seat of power in America is an empty chair.
