Perhaps the best source I can point to on what Big Broth—I mean, Big Tech, is doing to conservatives is, ironically, the non-conservative Glenn Greenwald, who has had to “go independent” because of his straightforwardness and is now on Substack, com.

Tuesday, he posted a commentary called “How Silicon Valley, In a Show of Monopolistic Force, Destroyed Parler,” which details the principles of privacy and free speech behind the social media platform and its growth after being set up in August 2018. That growth spiked dramatically after other social media censored the NEW YORK POST’s story about Hunter Biden and started deleting posts even by the President of the United States, labeling them “misinformation.” When Twitter finally terminated Trump’s access, that was enough for millions, and they started leaving in droves for Parler.

As Greenwald notes, the people behind Parler had done exactly what the social media giants had always said to do: If you don’t like the rules we impose, go start your own platform and make your own rules. But when Parler succeeded, they fought dirty to force it out of business. Just when it became the most downloaded app in the country, tech giants Apple, Amazon and Google worked seamlessly as one to abruptly remove it from the internet.

If Parler’s attorney’s are reading, Greenwald offers the perfect opening statement for when their HUGE LAWSUIT reaches court: “If one were looking for evidence to demonstrate that these tech behemoths are, in fact, monopolies that engage in anti-competitive behavior in violation of anti-trust laws, and will obliterate any attempt to compete with them in the marketplace, it would be difficult to imagine anything more compelling than how they just used their unconstrained power to utterly destroy a rising competitor.”

Greenwald tells how this unfolded, starting with a letter from Apple that said they’d received “numerous complaints” and “accusations that the Parler app was used to plan, coordinate, and facilitate the illegal activities in Washington, DC, on January 6, 2021, that led...to loss of life, numerous injuries, and the destruction of property.” It warned that they must submit the requested "moderation improvement plan” within 24 hours or their app would be removed from the Apple app store.

Not surprisingly, the letter was immediately leaked to BUZZFEED, which, not surprisingly, published it in full. Parler tried to communicate with Apple without success. The next day, Apple told Parler that it wouldn’t distribute apps that represent “dangerous and harmful content” and removed them. An app that's not downloaded from the Apple store cannot be used with an iPhone. As Greenwald explains, even if the Parler app has already been downloaded, it won’t be updated, which will soon render the platform “both unmanageable and unsafe.”

Google struck Blow #2, “suspending” Parler from its Play Store, thus severely limiting users’ ability to download it onto Android phones.

The next day, Amazon delivered Blow #3, informing Parler that its web hosting service was terminating them. Parler was then, effectively, offline. Amazon said: “Because Parler cannot comply with our terms of service and poses a very real risk to public safety, we plan to suspend Parler’s account effective Sunday, January 10th...”

In a matter of just a few days, Parler went from being the most popular and fastest-growing app in the country to being banished from the internet.

Leftists, who used to be pro-free speech, are cheering the demise of Parler. Ding, dong, the First Amendment is dead!

But Parler wasn’t designed to be an echo chamber of MAGA-hatted Trump supporters. As Greenwald describes it, “The platform was created based in libertarian values of privacy, anti-surveillance, anti-data collection, and free speech.” It was for people who wanted privacy and didn’t like the idea of being “data-mined.” It was also for those who increasingly objected to the rules about what could or could not be said --- and no, that doesn't apply to calls for violence, which are against Parler’s terms of service anyway and are already illegal on any platform.

Explicit calls for violence are rampant on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube (owned by Google). The Capitol breach was planned largely on Facebook and Twitter, including by members of QAnon. No participants have been found to be active on Parler.

Yet it’s the threat of more Capitol Hill-style violence that is purportedly causing Big Tech’s crackdown on Parler. Obviously, that’s just pretense for censoring conservative opinion.

Greenwald’s article is very detailed and examines Big Tech’s close relationship with politicians and the intelligence bureaucracy. It’s a must-read.

On Tuesday, Greenwald, appearing with Tucker Carlson, said Big Tech companies are “acting like nation-states,” with Facebook even setting up “committees” to decide what speech is true, false, dangerous, not dangerous. Sounds as though Winston Smith of 1984 would be right home there.

Greenwald pointed out that even world leaders who are not fans of President Trump, such as Germany’s Angela Merkel, are now speaking out about how dangerous Silicon Valley has become by “anointing itself the world media that controls and is more powerful than their democracies, because they know that’s coming for their democracies as well.”

He elaborated on what he’d said in his commentary, noting that out of the first 13 arrested for Capitol Hill violence, “a total of zero” were active on Parler. Most of the advocacy and planning had been done on Facebook, YouTube (Google) and Twitter. Yet AOC and others with power in the Democrat Party were demanding that Google and Apple “kick Parler off.” If their concern really is to stop violence, why weren’t they calling for Facebook and YouTube to be de-platformed?

Here’s one clue: Biden reportedly got ten times more money from Big Tech than Trump did. The real menace is that they’re working hand in hand now to control all expression. This is blatantly illegal and unconstitutional, but unless you want to talk about how “woke” you are and how much you still hate Trump, the plan is to leave you with cute fuzzy puppies and pictures of food. Any political or societal point of view that doesn’t get the leftist gold star will have to go.

Tucker also hosted Glenn Beck, who said he'd built his own media company in anticipation of this coming. With the current political upheaval and the technological upheaval, he said, these two powers “need each other.”

As a caution, Beck compared what’s happening to what FDR did to Japanese-Americans during World War II, confiscating their wealth, shutting their businesses and, eventually, even isolating them in camps. “You can’t have freedom of speech,” Beck explained, “if you can’t express yourself in a meaningful place.”

“This is like the Germans with the Jews behind the wall,” he said. “...This is the digital ghetto.”

Beck is taking heat, of course, for making that comparison. But as he explained, he wasn’t literally comparing the current situation to Nazi Germany, just using it as an example to show the direction things can move without constitutional protection. He issued a warning: “If you don’t stand up for free speech, you will be the one that loses it as well.”

UPDATE

Here's an excellent blogpost, featuring the commentary of legal expert Jonathan Turley, that agrees completely.

    Mike:
I am really disappointed in you for abandoning President Trump. You AND Fox News sound like the Nazi Democrats. The president DID NOT incite a riot and the people, with a few exceptions, at the DC protest are American patriots. You tell us the Democrats are taking us toward socialism, they are God less, they stole the election, they accused our president of colluding with the Russians, They tried to impeach the president on trumped up charges. We are already in a third world country now controlled by the Democrats. What the hell did you expect America loving patriots to do, sit by and do nothing. If I had been there I most likely would have been inside the Capital Building simply to be sure the Representatives and Senators heard my complaints about the stolen election.
Get some balls mike! Thomas Jefferson said (and we are getting there)

Some people are changing their registration from Republican to Independent to protest this ridiculous impeachment and also rumors that Mitch McConnell may be willing to convict the President in the Senate (but only after Jan.20!). And Kevin McCarthy actually wanted to censure the President! For what exactly? He’s the most law and order president we’ve probably ever had!! Dems couldn’t point to anything specific he ever said, of course, but we can point to lots of actual incitement from the Left. So hypocritical!! Such fair weather RINO friends who we find out now were still always swamp creatures underneath. If several million people leave the GOP in protest, we can make a big point.

Apparently investigators know all manner of things about people involved in the Capital building affair. I've been asking / demanding to know for many months now who was and is funding and organizing BLM / antifa violence. From what I can tell, no one knows. Why all of the sudden investigative interest in civil disobedience and resulting violence? Also, I'm still convinced this recent example is a deep state set up. Can anyone prove me wrong?

"Why I will not accept Joe Biden as president

Unwillingness to accept election result grows out of a level of outrage unlike anything previously experienced.

    By Newt Gingrich - - Monday, December 21, 2020

    ANALYSIS/OPINION:

A smart friend of mine who is a moderate liberal asked why I was not recognizing Joe Biden’s victory.

The friend made the case that Mr. Biden had gotten more votes, and historically we recognize the person with the most votes. Normally, we accept the outcome of elections just as we accept the outcomes of sporting events.

So, my friend asked why was 2020 different?

Having spent more than four years watching the left #Resist President Donald Trump and focus entirely on undoing and undermining the 2016 election, it took me several days to understand the depth of my own feelings.

As I thought about it, I realized my anger and fear were not narrowly focused on votes. My unwillingness to relax and accept that the election grew out of a level of outrage and alienation unlike anything I had experienced in more than 60 years involvement in public affairs

The challenge is that I — and other conservatives — are not disagreeing with the left within a commonly understood world. We live in alternative worlds.

The left’s world is mostly the established world of the forces who have been dominant for most of my life.

My world is the populist rebellion which believes we are being destroyed, our liberties are being cancelled and our religions are under assault. (Note the new Human Rights Campaign to decertify any religious school which does not accept secular sexual values — and that many Democrat governors have kept casinos open while closing churches though the COVID-19 pandemic.) We also believe other Democrat-led COVID-19 policies have enriched the wealthy while crushing middle class small business owners (some 160,000 restaurants may close).

In this context, let’s talk first about the recent past and the presidency.

In 2016, I supported an outsider candidate, who was rough around the edges and in the Andrew Jackson school of controversial assaults on the old order. When my candidate won, it was blamed on the Russians. We now know (four years later) Hillary Clinton’s own team financed the total lie that fueled this attack.

Members of the FBI twice engaged in criminal acts to help it along — once in avoiding prosecution of someone who had deleted 33,000 emails and had a subordinate use a hammer to physically destroy hard drives, and a second time by lying to FISA judges to destroy Gen. Michael Flynn and spy on then-candidate Donald Trump and his team. The national liberal media aided and abetted every step of the way. All this was purely an attempt to cripple the new president and lead to the appointment of a special counsel — who ultimately produced nothing.

Now, people in my world are told it is time to stop resisting and cooperate with the new president. But we remember that the Democrats wanted to cooperate with Mr. Trump so much that they began talking about his impeachment before he even took office. The Washington Post ran a story on Democrat impeachment plots the day of the inauguration.

In fact, nearly 70 Democratic lawmakers boycotted his inauguration. A massive left-wing demonstration was staged in Washington the day after, where Madonna announced she dreamed of blowing up the White House to widespread applause. These same forces want me to cooperate with their new president. I find myself adopting the Nancy Pelosi model of constant resistance. Nothing I have seen from Mr. Biden since the election offers me any hope that he will reach out to the more than 74 million Americans who voted for President Trump.

So, I am not reacting to the votes so much as to the whole election environment.

When Twitter and Facebook censored the oldest and fourth largest newspaper (founded by Alexander Hamilton) because it accurately reported news that could hurt Mr. Biden’s chances — where were The New York Times and The Washington Post?

The truth of the Hunter Biden story is now becoming impossible to avoid or conceal. The family of the Democrat nominee for president received at least $5 million from an entity controlled by our greatest adversary. It was a blatant payoff, and most Americans who voted for Mr. Biden never heard of it — or were told before the election it was Russian disinformation. Once they did hear of it, 17% said they would have switched their votes, according to a poll by the Media Research Center. That’s the entire election. The censorship worked exactly as intended.

Typically, newspapers and media outlets band together when press freedom is threatened by censorship. Where was the sanctimonious “democracy dies in darkness?” Tragically, The Washington Post is now part of the darkness.

But this is just a start. When Twitter censors four of five Rush Limbaugh tweets in one day, I fear for the country.

When these monolithic Internet giants censor the president of the United States, I fear for the country.

When I see elite billionaires like Mark Zuckerburg are able to spend $400 million to hire city governments to maximize turnout in specifically Democratic districts — without any regard to election spending laws or good governance standards — I fear for the country.

When I read that Apple has a firm rule of never irritating China — and I watch the NBA kowtow to Beijing, I fear for our country.

When I watch story after story about election fraud being spiked — without even the appearance of journalistic due diligence or curiosity — I know something is sick.

The election process itself was the final straw in creating the crisis of confidence which is accelerating and deepening for many millions of Americans.

Aside from a constant stream of allegations of outright fraud, there are some specific outrages — any one of which was likely enough to swing the entire election.

Officials in virtually every swing state broke their states’ own laws to send out millions of ballots or ballot applications to every registered voter. It was all clearly documented in the Texas lawsuit, which was declined by the U.S. Supreme Court based on Texas’ procedural standing — not the merits of the case. That’s the election.

In addition, it’s clear that virtually every swing state essentially suspended normal requirements for verifying absentee ballots. Rejection rates were an order of magnitude lower than in a normal year. In Georgia, rejection rates dropped from 6.5% in 2016 to 0.2% in 2020. In Pennsylvania, it went from 1% in 2016 to .003% in 2020. Nevada fell from 1.6% to .75%. There is no plausible explanation other than that they were counting a huge number of ballots — disproportionately for Mr. Biden — that normally would not have passed muster. That’s the election.

The entire elite liberal media lied about the timeline of the COVID-19 vaccine. They blamed President Trump for the global pandemic even as he did literally everything top scientists instructed. In multiple debates, the moderators outright stated that he was lying about the U.S. having a vaccine before the end of the year (note Vice President Mike Pence received it this week). If Americans had known the pandemic was almost over, that too was likely the difference in the election.

The unanimously never-Trump debate commission spiked the second debate at a critical time in order to hurt President Trump. If there had been one more debate like the final one, it likely would have been pivotal.

This is just the beginning. But any one of those things alone is enough for Trump supporters to think we have been robbed by a ruthless establishment — which is likely to only get more corrupt and aggressive if it gets away with these blatant acts.

For more than four years, the entire establishment mobilized against the elected president of the United States as though they were an immune system trying to kill a virus. Now, they are telling us we are undermining democracy.

You have more than 74 million voters who supported President Trump despite everything — and given the election mess, the number could easily be significantly higher. The truth is tens of millions of Americans are deeply alienated and angry.

If Mr. Biden governs from the left — and he will almost certainly be forced to — that number will grow rapidly, and we will win a massive election in 2022.

Given this environment, I have no interest in legitimizing the father of a son who Chinese Communist Party members boast about buying. Nor do I have any interest in pretending that the current result is legitimate or honorable. It is simply the final stroke of a four-year establishment-media power grab. It has been perpetrated by people who have broken the law, cheated the country of information, and smeared those of us who believe in America over China, history over revisionism, and the liberal ideal of free expression over cancel culture.

I write this in genuine sorrow, because I think we are headed toward a serious, bitter struggle in America. This extraordinary, coordinated four-year power grab threatens the fabric of our country and the freedom of every American."

    Dear Mr. Huckabee “Mike,”......I am usually one of the silent “Christian” majority never getting involved in politics with the exception of my one vote. I usually make an excuse for not getting involved in the politics of this country by telling myself that my “Citizenship” is in a land which I will not see until my death. This excuse has become more and more a sort-of “cop out” as I see our President railroaded into being blamed for anything and everything the Democrats can come up with. The question that I would dearly love for them to answer is one the thief asked his comrade at Calvary; “Do you not fear God,” it’s almost as if they don’t plan on ever dying and, giving an account of their sinful deeds. If I may there are a few scripture verses that should be nailed to the halls of Congress which are;

    Isaiah 5:18-23
    New International Version
18 Woe to those who draw sin along with cords of deceit,
and wickedness as with cart ropes,
    19 to those who say, “Let God hurry;
    let him hasten his work
    so we may see it.
The plan of the Holy One of Israel—
let it approach, let it come into view,
    so we may know it.
20 Woe to those who call evil good
    and good evil,
    who put darkness for light
    and light for darkness,
    who put bitter for sweet
    and sweet for bitter.
21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes
and clever in their own sight.
22 Woe to those who are heroes at drinking wine
    and champions at mixing drinks,
23 who acquit the guilty for a bribe,
but deny justice to the innocent.
    Respectfully,
    Mr. Terry L. Annas

I do not approve of the violence, destruction of property and the taking taking of human life going on in our country performed by "sub human species" in our cities last year and as witnessed in our capitol last week. With the liberal news media, violent groups, and corrupt politicians lining their pockets with silver and gold instead of working for the people that elected them I couldn't help but to think about the attack on America and Pear Harbor comparing it to the attack going on now to our freedoms and democracy, After the attack on Pear Harbor with his pilots celebrating a victory, Admiral Isuroku Yamamoto wrote: "I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with terrible resolve". I see the same thing happening NOW with the Democratic Party gloating over their fraudulent election victories plus blaming the attack on our nation's capitol on President Trump's supporters along with blaming President Trump for inciting all the violence and calling for his impeachment. The "sleeping giant" in my humble opinion are the massive numbers of Trump Supporters as depicted by the huge crowds attending his rallies and THEY are the "sleeping giant" of today.

It has finally begun. First : 4 Years of crap by a Corrupt Government to destroy the people that voted . Doesn't matter what Party you are in. If you claim at being a Democrat. You are covering your rear end.
If you are a Republican- You are doing the same. Doing nothing is an action. The enemy knows you want to fight. They know and how to stop you before you start. By Violent or non-Violent. They have the experts to destroy or stop anyone that opposes them in their tracts.
They control: Social Media, Entertainment, Hollywood, Large and Small government's. They are very, very good at Propaganda to make you feel inadequate or useless / victim. These are Pro's. They have control of the Leaders of the U.S. of A.
They are so good that they were waiting for the Conservatives? Trump Supporters to head towards the Capitol. They knew it well in advance. That was a set up from the get go.
Events are planned, not unplanned. These are not conspiracies , they are planned events.
They make up the rule's, as they see to their power ( real or imaginary). Fear governs fear! We live with Fear, every Day of our lives. Pandemic anyone. Government control at all levels anyone. Denial, Denial, Denial!
The Covid-Sars-2019 is and was a planned event. Our Government knew it, approved it and took advantage of it! Why? To further curtail all freedoms throughout 2020 and on.
They have placed "laws" ? Procedures and policies in place for that very purpose.
Once you vote. It's done. Recalls are long, difficult and rare! IE: California, Oregon, Washington,Illinois, New York State as well as New York and Pennsylvania. The Specific Judges over rule legislature laws.
I repeat: These are planned events, not conspiracies.
Scares the heck out of me. Religion- Stopped Cold! Assembly: Stopped Cold. Any gatherings of more than 10 people is prohibited.
    Think!

I read all of the updates available thru email, gab.com and rumble. I understand part of what's going on. At this point I know enough to know that something has to be done. There is no trust left of the system and it's obvious that the congress is useless.
What can we all do to fight against the oppression? I know pretty much what the problem is but no one out there is telling anyone what the solution is. Is there some plan? There are at minimum 75 million Americans willing to fight for that cause.

Glenn Beck's comparison to the Japanese internment camps is wrong, As I remember - The Japanese were occupying two Aleutian islands, subs were on our west shore, they bombarded near Brookings OR killing 7, started forest fires, sending balloons. Navy shore patrol did house to house searches on OR and WA coast finding Japanese. They were here. Sadly the internment camps were done hastily and badly. They were necessary to protect our Japanese citizens from infiltration and to protect the US from internal attacks. A comparison to the current attack on free speech is more like the socialist Nazi attacks and invasions in Europe - restricting, burning, looting, killing. The use of a Nazi comparison has become a cliche, that due to offhand remarks, disparage the tragedies of the Third Reich. Nevertheless we are undergoing a similar hell perpetrated by the far left Democrat Communist politicians. American Patriots are fighting for their rights, free speech, freedom, being jailed while murderers and looters go free.
I along with millions are mad as hell and willing to fight to save our Republic.

I’m not surprised a bit about what’s been going on. The world. This economy. Lawlessness in the streets and in our government. Even the way Big Tech is trying to silence everyone. That should have been obvious when they cowtowed to the likes of China! The only thing that did blew me away a bit was the non action of our Vice President. So disappointed in him???????I’m a Christ follower. So many people misuse the word Christian hat it has lost its impact. I do believe that this was the stuff to come. Hello Gov. Huckabee,
Thank you so much for your morning and evening edition updates and commentary in email so that you can remain in contact with your followers. I respect and trust you! Thank you for being a man of faith. I so appreciate your viewpoint and suggestions as well as enjoy your humor. I was horrified and saddened by the Capital riots but now am very concerned that Big Tech seems to censoring and eliminating competition that they believe is conservative or not liberal. I already feel very uncomfortable speaking my viewpoint. I consider myself conservative (and a bit libertarian). So it concerns me that people with non-liberal point of views will have to go elsewhere for social media, possibly internet, banking, and who knows what else is next. Your own daughter was not allowed in a restaurant due to her political affiliation and work for President Trump. It feels like we are going toward a segregation like society but this time based on political affiliation. Liberals seem to be saying conservatives are not allowed. Are we going to end up in a society with everything separate for liberals and another for conservatives if we can be so lucky to have an option for conservatives?
Thank you again for keeping your followers informed and please do not disclose my name publicly. Please and thank you. :)

Mr. Huckabee , you don't seem to grasp what's been happening , or you're in some kind of denial !
" Big Tech " is squalshing all consernative freedom of speech , which is a given . We all know that ! You can write about it , talk about it , and even get upset about it , but the truth is , you can't do anything about it ! You are powerless ! I wrote to you along time ago , that our Judicial system is broken ! President Trump just proved it , and made my point . Parler can take on the " Big Tech " , and bring a suit against them , but if no judge or court doesn't want to hear the case , what does Parler do ? They'll do the same as President Trump did ; nothing ! This plan to do away with free speech and your First Amendment rights has been in the works since the Obumma administration ! And do you know what ? It's working just the way they ( Hilary and her gang ) had planned it ! Nothing is going come of Parler's law suit , and there will be no investigations of " Big Tech " ! All done !

Also why is Soros and Obama still allowed to navigate shadow government, and frozen their assets based on 1876 executive order to freeze assets of those found linked to fraudulent elections...
