For reasons that make no sense, Democrats are dead set against requiring a person to have a photo ID in order to vote. The “idea” of an “ID” is simple enough—you should vote, but your vote should be protected by making sure you are the person doing the voting. If someone votes your ballot, they are stealing it from you.

I’m fairly well known and most places I go, I’m recognized and called by my name before I even sign in at the front desk. This happens at the airport, at a doctor’s or dentist’s office, and at a bank when I wish to withdraw funds. Even so, without a photo ID, I couldn’t see a doctor, fly on a plane, or pay for groceries with a check. I couldn’t take out a loan, check into a hotel or rent a car, or pick up baseball tickets at the will-call window. In most cities I couldn’t even enter a large office building. So why the heartburn about having a photo ID to vote?

The argument that it’s racist to require the ID for voting is not just laughable—it’s insulting to people of color to assume they are somehow less capable than white people to function in our current world. Black or brown people are as smart as I am, and I know they too go to doctors, hospitals, hotels, office buildings, and fly on planes. To suggest that obtaining or using a photo is just too complicated for a black or brown person is outrageous and denigrating. Do Democrats really think so little of minorities? It’s not racist to ask ALL people, whatever color they are, to have a photo ID when they vote. It is 100% racist to insinuate that a minority person is too dumb or lacks the basic life skills to obtain or use a photo ID.

Vice President Kamala Harris insulted people in rural America this week by saying that a photo ID would be too much to ask of people in rural parts of the country, because if we had to make a photo copy (or as she said if we had to Xerox our ID or go to Kinkos), we wouldn’t have the ability to do that.

She needs to visit rural America more. She might be surprised to find out we have electricity, running water, paved roads, cable tv indoor plumbing, and yes, even connections to the INTERWEB! We even wear shoes and store-bought britches. Heck, a bunch of us have even been to an airport and flown on those big jet planes. And we even have toilet paper. If we run out, we have the NY Times, since the Sears catalog no longer gets printed. I’ll bet she doesn’t even know that we quit using horse drawn carriages years ago and drive big ol’ fancy cars like the folks in California. Now I admit, we ain’t all as fancy as the folks in CA where she comes from. We still sometimes use plastic straws, eat real ribeye steaks instead of tofu, and believe that church is more essential than a casino or topless bar. And if the VP wants to come down for a visit, we can show her that all our folk no matter what color—know how to get and use photo ID. And we also know how to get and use a cast iron skillet and this might really mess her up—we know how to get and use a rifle, shotgun, or pistol. Most of us would never think of using those things on people unless they are dumb enough to try and invade our homes or threaten our families. And then it’s not us that will need a photo ID. It’s the dumb son of a gun who tried to break into our house. He’ll need a photo ID so the authorities can notify the next of kin.

Today you made comments about there are better results from recovered people after being reinfected than vaccinated people in ISRAEL. I am a veterinarian and we use vaccines to prevent disease in all type of animals, so I have experience with "herd immunity". One thing that I know is that the vaccine response is not the same from one "herd" to another. I look to you for guidance as well as other people. They might be mislead to think that the same response may happen in the USA. Different people, different conditions, maybe different vaccines and probably different strains. Too many variables to make broad recommendation.
The ultimate goal in a vaccine is to prevent the disease entirely but it's other goal is to decrease the symptoms or death in a vaccinated person when exposed to the virus (in this case) or a variant of the virus.
The numbers show vaccinated people are less likely to die from the virus than an unvaccinated person. I consider this fact alone is why I am vaccinated and I am an advocate of vaccines.
I look forward to you letter everyday. I'm beside my self when your morning newsletter doesn't come until the afternoon.

I thank you once again Governor for your insightful commentary. This factual information might get me banned from your sight, HAHA, but here it is
This is data from the CDC on total number of deaths from 2014 to 2020.
    2014-2,626,418 deaths
    2015-2,712.630- Increase of 86,212-3.28% increase
    2016-2,744,248- Increase of 31,618-1.16% increase
    2017-2,813,503- Increase of 69,255- 2.52% increase
    2018-2,839,206- Increase of 25,703- 1% increase
    2019-2,855,000- Increase of 15,794- 0.55% increase
    2020-2,913,144- Increase of 58,144- 2%

As you can see, if the CDC is not falsifying their total over all death records, 2015 and 2017 had more total over all deaths than 2020!! So where are the numbers to support the rampant wide spread deaths JUST FROM THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC.
The most recent number on COVID INFECTIONS
    21,113,528- with 360,00 deaths!!
So far 2021 overall deaths-1,411,194, US population-330,511,321 so that number right now is 0.0043% of the total population has passed away this year.
So why do we continue down the path of less freedom and doomsday scenarios from our bloated government???
Now then would the CDC be wrong on these numbers, like they have been wrong on everything else

The garbage that spews out of so called Vice President Harris’s mouth is laughable. Those same people she said will not be able to get photo ID use them everywhere else! Black, white, brown, any color you want, these people got them! Try getting welfare without any ID ! I dare you to get a check cashed anywhere without one. The people who she says she’s worried about use them either every day or at least once a week! Sorry but Vice President “Giggles” is full of what ever she’s been smoking with Snoop Dog playing in the background! She said that one too! Before he ever made any recording she was getting high listening to it! Amazing! I think she’s still high on something! And lies about everything!

Lol, well said, Mr. Huckabee! As a former country dweller, the only time I ran low on toilet paper was when city folk panicked and hoarded it all. True, my internet was glitchy, but the McDonald's down the road had free wifi. Why, my rural township secretary even photocopied papers for me. The supervisors said it was a perk for all residents for paying local taxes! Poo Ms. Harris needs to become better educated!

Like certain others, the leftists think they can't function without a leg up from democrats, because they're just not as bright as the elites. All I can say is, if you're too stupid to get a photo ID, you're too stupid to vote.

Mr. Huckabee you shouldn’t write or say such things in your comment, Facebook will ban you, this is not up to their community standards. Lol. Have a good one.

If someone does have a problem getting an ID for some reason, provide help. Use some of those government services in a way that would actually be helpful for a change.

Please inform VP Harris that people can use their free Obama phone to snap a picture of their
    ID in order to vote.

Mike, it seemed as though you were taking the thoughts right out of my head and putting them in this article. I couldn't agree more with everything you said. How insulting it is that Vice President Kamala Harris would insinuate that people of any color couldn't obtain an ID. How can anyone in today's world function without a photo ID? Ever tried buying a bottle of wine at Sam's Club without your ID?
