Trump supporters aghast at today's inexcusable violence

“I am asking for everyone at the U.S. Capitol to remain peaceful. No violence! Remember, WE are the Party of Law & Order --- respect the Law and our great men and women in Blue. Thank you!”

President Trump tweeted this in response to the violence that erupted Wednesday at the Capitol Building, when some “Trump supporters” broke through barricades and stormed the building, breaking windows, getting rough with police in the halls, even entering the House chamber. As this is being written, news has just broken that one of the people who got shot in the melee has died.

Trump is right: we ARE the party of law and order, but I think most of us will agree that he needs to be a lot tougher in his condemnation of this. The same can be said of the video statement he released. Of course, virtually every news outlet who posted his tepid “go home” video had to editorialize, saying that Trump “repeated false claims” of election fraud. Facebook took it down.

So did YouTube.

Trump also tweeted this on Wednesday: “Mike Pence didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done to protect our Country and our Constitution, giving States a chance to certify a corrected set of facts, not the fraudulent or inaccurate ones which they were asked to previously certify. USA demands the truth!”

Well, yes, Mr. President, but in the USA, at least those of us on the right, also demand that the Constitution be meticulously followed. Vice President Pence obviously was doing what he thought was right concerning his role in this. We may disagree with him –- numerous constitutional experts do, and Alan Dershowitz isn’t sure –- and you obviously disagree with him, but please, right now, stay out of that process and stop pressuring him.

Trump told his supporters to go home, but no reaction to this violence is complete without a total, vociferous condemnation. We all condemned the truly awful violence coming from the Democrat side this summer when their party and the media (but I repeat myself) failed to do it. In this case, it’s just as wrong, no matter who is behind it.

We are aghast at this.

    First of all, how do we know that the protestors were really Pariotic Republican Trump supporters and not Black Lives Matter or Antifa troublemakers? I am sick and tired of the Fake News Media constantly cranking out lies upon more lies. It does not help that Governor Tom Wolf falsely claims that the elction process in Pennsylvania was not fraudulent in any way. When you have hundreds of thousands voted for Trump that just disappear, or were switched from Biden to Trump, or never counted in the first place, that is definitely NOT an honest or fair election. Our PA. legislators should have convened, but they didn't. Wolf hasbeen running Pennsylvania like a dictator. He does not make laws, the legislators are supposed to. So you have over 70 million Trump voters who are completly disgusted with this outrageously fraudulent election and you expect them not to be upset? Voters are sick and tired of dirty, crooked politicians taking our taxes and enriching themselves with kickbacks. There is absolutely no reason to send $25 million dollard to Pakistan for gender studies, or 1.3 Billion dollars to eygpt to spend for their military. For what? To buy missiles from Russia? When are the crooks in Congress, the FBI, the CIA, the Department of Justice, the Supreme Court and other departments and organizations in out government going to be arrested for treason, sentenced and sent to jail or executed for treason? We are loing our federal republic and having our Constitution and Bill of Right destroyed. Why do you think the Right To Bear Arms was written? So that the citizens of this country could rise up against the crooked politicians in our government. What has been happening for the last 50 years is the establishment of the New World Order and and Socialism, (soon Communism) in thi country. Sodon't expect true Patriots togo around with a Woe is me attitude. If we are not willing to fight for our country and the freedoms our forefathers and patriots fought for to establish our United States, we don't deserve them. Trump supporters know there are crooked politicians in Congress and in our local state governments and they are outraged by it. It is high time that the politicians actually started to work for the citizens of this country instead for themselves and their kickbacks.

    The violence that happened was terrible..how sad a life was lost. I have seen alot of pics over on Parler that appear to show Antifa members as the ones who stormed the Capitol but we know it wont be presented truthfully. I am sick of all the treachery. These politicians I can't even with them anymore. I witnessed the fraud on tv with my own two eyes and to have these elected try to tell me otherwise is beyond unfathomable. Enough with the lying BS. As I wrote to Senator Peters... We all know fraud happened and Trump really won!

    You need to wait and see who these people were that breached the Capitol before you rush to judgement and throw Trump under the bus. We are fed up! They are messing with a powderkeg of frustration with all the fraud in this election. If we don't have free and fair elections, we don't have an country! I know you understand this, but people are thinking it's now or never.

    I don't know the facts of what happened today, but I do know that enemies of Trump supporters know that something like this would make them look bad.

    I agree with you on everything you said. BUT, please tell us about RUMORS flying around by supposedly legal people, that Mike Pence is a trader and he is involved with the FBI that has been fired, Comey, Rosenstien. The talk about the envelopes given out at Bush Srs. Funeral to Obama’s, Clinton’s, Bush W and Jeb and the shockingly one to Pence. It’s said the envelope was from Bush Sr., stating...”They know everything, I’m sorry”. How do we know to trust Pence at this critical time when Trump seems to only have “We the people” behind him. Last but not least, what IF the people that charged in and caused damage and a life is Antifa, hired by Democrats again; pretending to be Trump supporters. Our people have never caused trouble. We pray, but not fight! Can someone clean all this up for us?

    From a analysis of the pictures from inside the Capital Building those bad guys were Antifa and BLM acting as Trump supporters.

    I am deeply saddened by the violence at the Capitol today and I believe that it's only a small group of the ones who are there. I believe that the majority of them are good God-fearing people who were there to protest against the evil that is taking over this country, not to do anything violent. It would not surprise me to find out that the rioters were planted by those who are set on destroying the USA as it was founded to be --one nation under God.

    I am a very strong Trump supporter and I believe the election was stolen from him. But, I agreed with everything you said. I think Mike Pence did what he knew to be right. I believe what happened at the Capitol today was totally outrageous. Trump needed to be stronger about what happened today at the Capitol. He needs to leave graciously. Joe Biden will be the President.
    The United States of America needs to move on.

    I believe ANTIFA infiltrated Trump supporters and they are the ones who instigated and were responsible for most of the violence. The tactics involved were strictly ANTIFA!!! The purpose may well be to give the incoming administration an excuse to clamp down on the American people!

    I think President Trump should have known better that to have the gathering in Washington on the day of the making the record of who won the President election. I also think that some of the antifa and BLM groups got into the crowd to make Trump to look bad. I think we are in the last days before God says "now is the end times"

    I don't think those were really Trump supporters in that crowd. Republicans had everything to lose by this and Democrats had everything to gain. Check the crowd, especially those who stormed through the doors, against videos of Antifa terrorist acts and I think you'll see some familiar faces.

    Hello Mr. Huckabee,
    First of all I do not condone the violence that happened today! I am a Christian follower and supporter of the people. The bottom line is Americans in general are tired of fake politicians that get nothing accomplished. When we the people and our constitution is attacked we are going to fight back. The voting system is obviously being tampered with and the Supreme Court along with many other facets of the government are corrupt. Giving money to foreign countries all to return it back into the hands of crooked politicians. When the people finally fight back the government is shocked! No shock here.

    I’m sympathetic to the crowd that are extremely upset with our current Republican leaders. I also am reminded of the huge crowd that assembled for President Andrew Jackson. Seems very similar in terms of American’s participation in their government. I only hope that the security guards will show restraint and consideration.

    Hi Mike
    After 4 years with Trump we know that he doesn’t do well with reading a teleprompter he always goes off script and rambles, he does things his own way. He’s not polished but he has indeed gotten better over the years. But guess what us Americans connected with him because he wasn’t the typical politician, you know the good speaker that tell lies, he has always been real and we like it like that. I don’t think he meant to sound unsympathetic to what was happening at the capital. He is so focused on this election loss( as he should be ) He wants everyone to remember that he was cheated, we were cheated and he gets it but it’s time to go home now. What was wrong with that!!! As you know everything Trump does is downplayed , his crowd sizes, his accomplishments , his success. I believe he was trying to come off as understanding yet stern by saying go home , be peaceful , i know your angry and so am I , we were cheated we were betrayed but don’t react this way but he rambled. Trump is critiqued and criticized about literally everything seriously in what way would have been acceptable for you ...he would have been the bad guy no matter what or how he said it. In the end what does it matter because he was censored so who was going to see and hear his message anyway , maybe for once Twitter and Facebook could get off their obsession with his election fraud tweets and allowed this important message to be heard...he is the President of the United States for crying out loud! you see Mr Huckabee your damned if you do and your damned if you don’t. Sad times but I stand for Trump and always will, he was cheated.

    Any thought that the violence was by Antifa and BLM. Looked like MAGA supporters were walking into Capitol down the roped off corridor. Hate is usually not part of my life...I think I hate Liberals, west coast idgets, Antifa, BLM and their dirty tricks.

    I’m so distraught. I love President Trump, but today he really failed us. His hour and a half speech was fuel for the fire. His refusal to condemn and shut down the violence was inexcusable. I’m heart broken.
