“I am asking for everyone at the U.S. Capitol to remain peaceful. No violence! Remember, WE are the Party of Law & Order --- respect the Law and our great men and women in Blue. Thank you!”

President Trump tweeted this in response to the violence that erupted Wednesday at the Capitol Building, when some “Trump supporters” broke through barricades and stormed the building, breaking windows, getting rough with police in the halls, even entering the House chamber. As this is being written, news has just broken that one of the people who got shot in the melee has died.

Trump is right: we ARE the party of law and order, but I think most of us will agree that he needs to be a lot tougher in his condemnation of this. The same can be said of the video statement he released. Of course, virtually every news outlet who posted his tepid “go home” video had to editorialize, saying that Trump “repeated false claims” of election fraud. Facebook took it down.

So did YouTube.

Trump also tweeted this on Wednesday: “Mike Pence didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done to protect our Country and our Constitution, giving States a chance to certify a corrected set of facts, not the fraudulent or inaccurate ones which they were asked to previously certify. USA demands the truth!”

Well, yes, Mr. President, but in the USA, at least those of us on the right, also demand that the Constitution be meticulously followed. Vice President Pence obviously was doing what he thought was right concerning his role in this. We may disagree with him –- numerous constitutional experts do, and Alan Dershowitz isn’t sure –- and you obviously disagree with him, but please, right now, stay out of that process and stop pressuring him.

Trump told his supporters to go home, but no reaction to this violence is complete without a total, vociferous condemnation. We all condemned the truly awful violence coming from the Democrat side this summer when their party and the media (but I repeat myself) failed to do it. In this case, it’s just as wrong, no matter who is behind it.

We are aghast at this.

I am not alone in suspecting a false flag operation in this. I also suspect that agents of general chaos are very active worldwide, in many guises.

Yes! I do believe there was election fraud, I do want an investigation and overhaul of our election process, but I absolutely condemn any use of violence. That is not how patriots behave! It makes us no better than last summer's rioters. We must ensure election integrity and make a comeback in 2022, 2024, and beyond.

What really bothers me that this happened all because of Trump. No, this happened because people were denied a fair recount. We were dismissed. Had a real audit been done, this never would have happened today. Biden is to blame media is responsible
Not once not once did the media even suggest there may have been fraud. People can’t be and should not be stifled I will never ever vote in another election ever again
I am hurt upset i have not slept since this happened
I am disgusted with our country
I am afraid of what will happen
    Petrified really
Packing the courts Medicare for all illegal immigrants getting benefits allowed here
    Free education student loan payoff
District of Columbia and Puerto Rico becoming states the Democrats wanting it all
    No more two party system
They want us to be sheep
    How did this happen
    What happened in Georgia
My god my America is no more

You are correct, 2 wrongs never make a right. I would like to know who actually led the charge in, because there is a question of whether Antifa was involved. I think that all should be prosecuted and affiliations should be revealed. With a less than genuine MSM and censorship, I doubt we will know the truth, however. Unfortunately I believe VP Pence had an extremely poorly timed tweet saying what he was going to do without hearing arguments. That tweet only added to the masses feeling unheard. Not an excuse for violence but an observation.

I think I am going to wait on better reports if possible because I truly believe there was a small group of so-called Trump supporters from the far right and from ANIFTA that caused a lot of unrest and damage to our party! Trump did nothing wrong and basically he was calling for peace and never expected what happen today, but he was also trying to say....I know your pain...I know it’s hard and I am with you on this election fraud! It may have very well caused more violence if he hadn’t! Look at the abuse we have all taken for years! People are upset! The more they scream there was “no voter fraud” the more pissed the people get! It was so massive and so obvious a blind man could see it! I don’t condone violence, but I will tell you if there isn’t a true investigation without all the propaganda and political judges over this ....there is going to be a Civil War in this country and there is no stopping it! Trump want be able to stop it!

Today is what i think some in the senate wanted, is it something that should take place no, but i was always told everything happens for a reason, and i also feel that there should be treason charges brought up on all sides of senate and house. A convention of the states rain this back in because sir i think people seen what their capable of this could very well turn from a intelligence war to all out war, i feel something is wrong with a spike in numbers and joe jot standing up and calling for a full blown audit.

Senator Huckabee, you are correct. Sadly our President, country, and citizens have been pushed to their limits. Covid has ravaged us. We are worn with lock downs, shut downs, and the results of both. We have watched the ugly specter of racial hate rise up again using the sins of our fathers as justification. Most of all we have often times forgotten Jesus in our life. We have it all backwards.

Thankfully God promises that if we will humble ourselves and cry out to Him He will hear us from heaven. Please pray for us all.

Mike, I usually agree with you. This time, you're wrong. Number one, we own the capital as taxpayers. Number two, the courts, the legislatures, and the media have CONTINUALLY stood in the way of the constitutional process from playing out. We gather, that makes no difference. We file suits and appeals and cases aren't even heard, that makes no difference. THIS IS THE ONLY OPTION LEFT aside from martial law and insurrection acts. This election violated the constitution from day one, day one! Nobody that can make a difference cares enough to do anything. Why? Because they know, "the right isn't going to do anything. They'll gather, won't use any force, file more lawsuits and won't rise up forcefully so we can do whatever we want". Sometimes, showing some big boy parts is the only way to send this message and force change.

This was not at a minimum in total Trump supporters. We know at least 3 were Antifa or BLM!

I have been a Trump supporter since he won the nomination within the GOP. After tonight those days are over. I hope we can rebuild our GOP after this fiasco. I am afraid that this will spill over for centuries to come. I strongly believe that this was the death blow to The GOP as we know it RIP.

Mr. Huckabee what makes you think those were Trump supporters? There are pictures of those same actors dressed in animal heads and outfits at a BLM/Antifa riot this year. Just look online and you will see that the people standing in the Capitol were not Trump supporters but members of Antifa who were bused in last night. Police had trouble with them as I observed on a live stream from a friend. These people have been paid for years to infiltrate.

No, the left's violence has not been condemed at all for the past 12 years, but esp. in the last 4 years. Trump's rally was peaceful until ANTIFA implants stormed the building. Pay attention Mike, the trap was set and innocents fell into it. All I have heard from our so-called Republican reps have done nothing but condemn Patriots. I for one am changing my voter registration tomorrow to Independent, or might even go with the winning Party, the Democraps, if I ever vote again at all. And when the Democrat retailation begins, I will resist with equal force. We have had ENOUGH now! I would rather die on my feet than live on my knees!

First of all, people are going to dissect every word Trump says and place blame on him. Why don't we do some background checks on some of those fools, check their social media accounts and find out who they really are before we start calling them Trump supporters. I'm a nurse and a better investigative reporter than these people! If I were a betting woman, I would bet most of them who broke in were paid Antifa thugs!

Why!!?? Is Trump getting blamed those were Antifa people dressed up as Trump supporters has anyone cared to look at there pics. They have Antifa tattoos on their arms. In the tweets in Twitter it says Antifa!!!! Once again the far left blames him for everything?? he cares about our Country abd the American people! This is so sad!! He did not cause that mayhem it was caused by Antifa. I’m sick about this. The swamp is deeper than deep and frankly ists disgusting !!!’???????????????????????????????

Love all of your writing and wisdom. But please do not call those law breakers "Trump Supporters" whomever they were. Just because they had Trump on doesn't mean they support him. They do not represent those of us who are peaceful.

It is important that Trump denounce these acts. It is also important that we don't try to make his speech more or less than it was.
It is possible the he was taken aback. Maybe he was caught off guard at first. We know it was ANTIFA players and not TRUMP supporters.
Pray! Just pray for divine intervention.

You are right, but as I look at the comments from my liberal friends & relatives, I see posts like “if you doubted white supremacy...” and “Unfriendly me because I will not talk to Trump supporters” & my personal fav from a relative... “time to invoke the 25th Amendment!” What did the left and Joe Biden expect when they watched our cities terrorized, burned, business looted and our history destroyed by thugs. And then the election...smelling of fraud and no one willing to investigate it?! You didn’t need a crystal ball to know what was going to happen.

Of course violence is not appropriate from any party, however I'm not convinced all of those who 'stormed' the capitol building were Trump supporters. It would be great if we actually had media who were interested in finding and reporting truth, but it will never happen. They truly are the enemy of the people.

Antifa and dems did this. They involved uninformed trumP supporters of which one is dead!
DC police in on it too! Yes Trump needs to get forceful and get them all now!!

Why does every well known media outlet or political pundit on the left or right keep uttering the same stupid talking points. How do we even know trump supporters initiated the abhorrent actions or were involved? I'm beginning to wonder if most everyone is on the same side and this was nothing but a setup to trap President Trump and his supporters.

Telling them to go home is condemning it. Seriously, it would not matter what he said the media would twist it to fit their narrative. The American people have been failed and this will continue for several more years. Too many lies and corruption. Only God can help us. ????

I think its amusing that the news networks are all "100%" sure that its "Trump Supporters" that breached the Capital. Ponder me this grasshopper, why would the "Patriots" the "Trump Supporters" that are showing support for the Constitution and its procedures on how to handle this voting issue, why would they choose to disrupt that very procedure. What would they accomplish by doing that? Wouldn't they want the procedures to play out? Wouldn't they want the only avenue available now to play out so we all can hear the proof that would come to light regarding the voter fraud? I would think the only ones that would gain by causing this unrest would be the ones that didn't want the truth to come out. So, don't be so quick to point fingers. Please step back and look at who would gain by these actions to disrupt the procedure. All of us old school learned to find out the 5 W's. Who, what, where, when and why. So where is the news reporting now. It also applies to the court of law. You set out to prove the 5 W's. You know what happens when you "assume" any one of the "W's"? It makes an "ass" out of "u" and "me" ("assume"). So lets not "assume" anything here.
