This has been a tough week for America. It’s been an embarrassing and disgusting week for those of us who believe that the recent Presidential election was tainted with unanswered questions about fraud and massive voting irregularities. Whatever hopes we had that there might be a sincere investigation into the evidence that the media claimed didn’t exist was wiped out by a hot-headed mob at our nation’s Capitol. To be clear, of the tens of thousands of protesters and demonstrators who descended on Washington, most really were peaceful, law abiding patriots who love God, their families and their country. But those who stormed our Nation’s Capitol, ignored and fought the police, broke windows and doors and vandalized the offices of members of Congress and the Capitol itself were not patriots. They were a mob. A violent, lawless, and reckless mob engaged in criminal acts. Some of those participating in this mayhem or who tried to defend it tried to compare the actions of the mob to those of our Founders in the American Revolution. The violence at the Capitol this week was not at all like the American Revolution.

The Revolution of 1776 was carefully thought out. It was meticulously planned, and carried out by people who had exhausted all avenues to peacefully secure their liberty and to rid themselves of the intolerable behavior of their mother country, England. They declared their independence in a carefully crafted document and pledged their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor. They did not act spontaneously or compulsively. Their actions were thoroughly contemplated and the consequences were fully understood. What happened this week was carried out by hot-headed people moved by raw rage. There was no rational consideration of the consequences. There are no excuses or explanations for endangering innocent people, destroying public property, and challenging the authority of law enforcement. Even if 95% of that crowd were God-fearing law-abiding citizens who are rightfully angry that their beloved Republic is being taken over by Marxists and the useful idiots in the media who follow along, there is still no justification for the mayhem. Some of the rioters even quoted Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., but Dr. King NEVER got so fed up with the horrible and unjust treatment by the government and said, “That’s it—let’s storm the Capitol and break windows and occupy the chamber.”

The American Revolution indeed became violent and resulted in a war but they were not a mob, who in a blind rage launched something they had no plan to fulfill. They articulated their grievances, requested relief, and only after all possible remedies were rebuffed did they declare independence.

WE must be the voice of reason and rationality. The mob set back the conservative patriotic cause of limited government and a government that provides justice equally. This angry mob of played right into the hands of the press and the left.

I support the many policies President Trump implemented to put America First. I’m glad he stood up to China and Russia, brought manufacturing jobs back to America, cut taxes because he believed that you could spend the money you worked for better than the government, fought to protect the lives of unborn children, protected religious liberty, stood with Israel against those who sought to annihilate her, and who appointed Constitutionalists to the courts. I don’t blame him because some who supported him devolved into criminal activity and tried to take over our nation’s Capitol. But to be fair and honest, his language about the election being stolen probably cost us 2 Senate seats in Georgia and gave some people the false sense that it was justifiable to storm past police barricades and take over the Capitol. Joe Biden will be the next President. It’s not who I voted for but I won’t burn down the country because he’s President. I will speak out for my views and I will faithfully vote in every election. But as disgusted as I was when Black Lives Matter and Antifa followers were burning our cities, looting stores and attacking police officers, I’m equally disgusted when people who may share many of my views do the same thing. I don’t care what their politics are, they are lawless thugs and need to be found, charged and prosecuted. I can’t teach my children and grandchildren to obey the rules of my house if I can’t be trusted to obey the laws of my nation!

    Mike,
While I usually agree with much of what you say, you don't seem to grasp what has occurred this election cycle. The government has obviously become so corrupt that it can't fix itself, with all traitors (and their agendas) having now been revealed! This is not simply the end of another election cycle, with hope our side will win next time. The massive election fraud, whose evidence is being suppressed, amounts to a coop and there will not be another fair election if this is allowed to stand! All social media is now being censored, and worse, accounts deleted and that would include the President's! Entire platforms, such as Parlor, are having their servers and apps removed. These activities are typical of those of the past preceding Marxist takeovers. The tragedy in D.C. was perpetrated by Antifa, with only a very few patriots blindly following. They didn't "storm" past the barricades; the police removed the barricades and motioned them in (Antifa dressed as patriots). The shooting was done by security, with other members of security right behind the lady who was shot (suspicious scene), doing nothing to prevent her actions. I believe it was staged to have the outcome we are now seeing from the left, with impeachment proceedings against Trump. Trump (or patriots) didn't incite the riot. This is the hallmark of the left, as we have seen for several years now against our President, only then much more violent. I believe this impeachment to be their final ploy to effectuate their coop! This is what we should be focusing on!

Fuck you Mike! As they say, you built it, you own it. Those terrorists that the president encouraged to march on the Capitol and get wild did exactly what he said. Don't now pretend you did not encourage it with your lies about the election being stolen. After two months there is absolutely no proof of any votes being stolen. Although some Republicans voted twice, and the idiot voted from Mar a Lago where he is not even a resident!!
Go crawl back in your hole

Gov, I must respectfully disagree that POTUS comments on the stolen election cost us the 2 Senate seats. He spoke the truth. Georgia knows it. The GOP candidates were ahead late in the evening then once again, overnight they lost. The incompetence or corruption of Ga election officials and Ga politicians cost us those seats. The GOP has failed its voters.

It is sad you believe President Trump caused this or the people who broke into the capitol are part of the problem. The real problem is the elected officials will not do their job, or uphold their constitutional oath and people are mad, do not jump on the blame game wagon like the lame stream media. The election in Georgia is all on the Republican party period! Why are you not out front with solutions and leadership and support not playing the blame game. Please remove me from any further of your news letters.

Those who stormed the capitol were NOT Trump supporters. I’m SHOCKED how quickly you forgot the previous 4 years of law-abiding supporters as OPPOSED to Antifa (democrats) and BLM (democrats).

As for the election being stolen, we all know that is true.

I agree with your condemnation of the assault on the capitol but I have read that several antifa and blm supporters were the instigators. Sure would like to know if that's true. If it is, it will probably be more catch and release like happened in the riots in the liberal cities.

I don't believe Trump's language cost the party 2 Senate seats in Georgia. It was the Governor and the Secretary of State who failed the people of Georgia. They refused to stand up for what was right. And it was the candidates themselves. Loeffler showed her true self when she backed down with an objection to the electors. She used the few in the mob as an excuse to cave. That is not what a good leader does and this is what the voters are sick of! Perdue may have been a good man, but he wasn't a fighter. I'm really sick of hearing about Trump's language being used as a reason of every Republican defeat. What "tone" is he supposed to use? He doesn't believe that the thugs will be found, charged and prosecuted and neither do I. I don't believe there will ever be any consequences to the illegal things that have been done for the last 6 years. I just cringe every time I hear McConnell get to the podium and address his "distinguished colleagues". There is nothing distinguished about the liberals. I will obey the laws, whether the radical left does or not. I will not name call in an open forum or destroy anyone's property. But I do not have to respect those who perpetrate the downfall of our nation no matter what office they hold. Maybe it is time to stand up to the mob for turning our nation into a dictatorship. Maybe it is time to overturn the moneychangers tables.

A tough week, yes. But we have plenty to be thankful for. We didn't lose the senate outright and we gained seats in the House. Yes we will probably be in for a difficult two years - never underestimate the inhumanity of the left - but this too will pass. I think that the left's predictable and reliable tendency of overreach will be its undoing. I also am hopeful that so many in the left have unmasked themselves (while they insist we wear masks) and have shown us who they really are in their calls for censorship and retribution. They were always there in media and the corporate world but hid their true sociopathic personas. Now they are out in the open for all the world to see and that is not a pretty sight.

I appreciate your commentary and look foward to reading daily --- my fear is that this terrible incident has been building for years ----- this goes back to "rules for radicals" -- it does not matter who the republican is the media and democrats demonize so there will be no healing.

Gov, when you in a hole, stop digging.
You keep explaining about the capital incident, you might be perceived as anti-MAGA.
    Let it go.

    01/10/2021 05:31 PM

    Hi Mr. Huckabee,
Normally I agree with your assessments, but I think you are wrong about the MAGA gathering in DC. First of all, the history of MAGA gatherings have always been peaceful. That cannot be said for BLM and Antifa events. You put a MAGA hat on either of the later groups and you have yet another fraud carried out against us deplorables. Our government is so corrupt and dirty that unless something in the Devine realm intercedes we are finished. Why not an equivalent amount of anger for the spineless Republicans that always seem to eagerly wave the white flag of surrender, and never willing to fight for the people they claim to represent. I will never vote again. I will never believe that from this day forward any future election will be honest and not rigged for a specific outcome. We have been sold out to a Satanic party that will do anything for power and they mean us great harm. Please prove me wrong.
PS: the Pope was just arrested??? Maybe Justice is finally coming!

Yours is the voice of reason. Please continue sharing it. You might want to begin your next run for president NOW. You'd certainly have my vote. I truly believe Biden will go down in history as our first Illegitimate President, and I hope and pray our elections return to the way our founding fathers wanted them to be - open and honest. God bless you, Mike.

I agree that the perps of the violence last Wednesday should be apprehended and prosecuted. I for one would be very interested in finding out about their background. Everyone (including all commentators and bloggers "on the right") seem to be falling right in line that they were legitimate members of the protest crowd. Personally, I believe they were most likely "plants" supplied by some leftist organization (antifa, blm, whatever) to cause trouble and generate just the reaction that is happening. Why do all of our "representatives" immediately cave and resign???? FIND OUT WHO REALLY DID THIS FIRST!!!!! And if they really were leftists in disguise FIGHT BACK (peacefully of course).

While I do not condone in any way the behavior of those who broke into the capitol and they should be legally punished for their illegal deeds, they did not rise to the level of destruction accomplished by the rioters in Portland & Seattle with no arrest or punishment. I believe the left will bring destruction to this country. Having said that I also believe with all my heart that the LORD will ultimately take control with HIS plan for us. I urge Christians to unite in daily prayer and let HIS WILL be done in HIS perfect LOVE.

Your constant laying of blame, for the voting fraud not being investigated, on a few morons is weak and pathetic. The fault is clearly on Congress and moreso on McConnell and Pence. McConnell is clearly and has always been ineffective and now I'd say treasonous. Pence was weak and so are many others who argue Congress shouldn't be overturning elections. That's a straw man argument as no one expected that to happen. Pence should have sent the disputed states back to their legislatures as the constitution calls for. And because a few people acted up in the capital you drop objections to fraud?? Tell me how those two items are mutually exclusive? Congress did nothing for years while a real mob and pack of racists burned the country down. It's more elitist bs that a small act in the capital somehow holds more weight. I'm deeply disappointed in your commentary on this subject as you sound like a typical legacy Republican instead of the wise fellow you normally do.

Amen, Mike Huckabee. Your analysis is spot on. A lot has been done to divide us and to try to weaken America. We are stronger and better than that. Democrats and Republicans, Conservatives and liberals, are Americans first, caring about our country. Caring about freedom and a good life for all. So we better find common ground fast and pull together. Enemies want American ideals defeated militarily, economically, spiritually, and health-wise. Let’s not do their job for them. Think fast before you act or get caught up in the moment. We love America. We love our freedoms.

In all fairness?? Since when has speaking the truth been responsible for the WRONG behavior of some people? The VAST MAJORITY of those who, in President Trump's encouragement to march "peacefully and patriotically" did just that. Apparently, you have fallen too. WOW. When the going gets tough, we find out many we thought were tough were really just Pontius Pilate's who wash their hands of their guilt. You can count me OUT as one of your fans.
