Republican Senators are finally starting to demand answers from the Justice Department as to why unarmed Trump-supporting protesters arrested over the January 6th Capitol violence are getting not just the book but the whole bookcase thrown at them. That includes reports of them being jailed in solitary confinement like Hannibal Lechter for up to 23 hours a day before being tried, which even Sen. Elizabeth Warren and the ACLU are condemning.

The Senators pointed out that this is in stark contrast to the treatment of far-left BLM and Antifa protesters, who were repeatedly arrested for rioting, looting and violent assaults on cops, citizens and government buildings, and then released the same day to go do it again.

Sen. Chuck Grassley said something that should be embroidered onto samplers and hung in every office of the Biden DOJ: “The law must be applied equally without regard to party, power or privilege. When the Department of Justice treats similar criminal acts differently, such conduct erodes faith in our governmental institutions and the law.”

I don’t know much more erosion our government institutions can take before the foundations crack.

What is happening to the country is terrifying. The FBI is supposed to be the premier investigative organization in this country, and they've becoming nothing more than the gestapo arm of the DNC. The discrepancy in how rioters are treated, depending on their color or political conviction violates everything our country is supposed to stand for.

It is frustrating because no one says, what person - not what agency -issued the order that they be treated that way. And have that person examined under oath about why they issued such an order, and whom were they in contact with beforehand, that led them to issue that order.
Another example is - who ordered that Roger Stone's arrest be done in such an over the top manner; and why was CNN there to film it? You need to identify the people, not the agency, and start from there.

The way these people are being persecuted before even being tried is the crack in the foundation. It's already starting to crumble!

Republican politicians need to show me something before I will resume contributing to their campaigns.

Sorry, That ship has sailed, been sunk, retrieved and scrapped. I have no faith in the justice system anymore. They let criminals go free, they allow millions of criminal to come into our country & buy them bus and plane tickets to wherever they want to go in the USA.

Then they want to turn real law abiding, legal gun owning Americans into criminals.

It's like Ron says, "You can't fix stupid."

Not unlike the brutal Communist Government ushered in by the Chinese Cultural Revolution of Mao Zedong, America's new 'Red Guard' Democrats will flatten any dissent under the treads of a tank.

They should not have been put in jail in the first place - they are just trying to push the thought that all conservatives are evil! And this is just a way to try to prove their point. Yet they never do anything to those that are the real violent protestors.

Almost the whole of the DC "Civil" Service has become the enemy to the proper functioning of the Republic. Trump had the right idea (although not adequately executed) of moving those "billets" (authorized jobs) out of DC and to the interior of the country. Leave only enough staff in DC to interact with Congress and the rest of the bureaucracy in other Departments, and to support the "political appointees" who nominally head the Department and/or agency. Dispersed among the rest of the population the inbred anti-Americanism might be expected to die out, especially as those most sunk into the mire of the DC swamp might refuse to move with the Department/agency
