The latest media meltdown over Donald Trump revolves around an interview he gave to Time magazine. As usual, his comments are being yanked out of context, edited and wildly distorted for maximum hair-on-fire hysteria.

As Athena Thorne at PJ Media explains, the full quotes in context reveal that he said a lot of things that we already knew and/or that most Americans agree with him on, like that abortion laws should be left to the states and there aren’t enough votes in the Senate to pass a federal law anyway; that there should be deportations of the mass wave of illegal aliens; and that the National Guard should be deployed to handle violent protesters if the local police can’t handle it. Yes, these are actually things that the Democrats and the media (but I repeat myself) want you to think are the terrifying, outrageous statements of a would-be dictator.

Their big problem, of course, is that we’ve all already lived through four years under Trump, and we know that it was mostly pretty good times for every demographic. He wasn’t a dictator, and he respected the Constitution, “our democracy” and our established norms far more than the rogue Biden Administration has. But maybe the most ridiculous of all the “Orange Man BAAAAD!!!” melodramatics from liberal media types is their whining about how terrified they are that Trump will silence them.

Yes, I’m sure we all remember the first Trump term, when leftwing media outlets were too terrified to say a single bad word about him! (Sorry if I made you spit coffee on your iPad.)
