Supreme Court To Review "Protect Life" Case

Monday, the Supreme Court agreed to review a case challenging the Trump Administration’s “Protect Life Rule,” a change in Title X grant rules barring funds for family planning from going to facilities that perform or refer patients for abortions.
Federal funds aren’t supposed to be used for abortion, and polls show a strong majority of Americans support that policy, including nearly a third of Democrats. But pro-life groups argue that there’s no way to clearly separate such funds: if you give government money to a clinic that performs abortions, they can claim that it’s spent on other things, but that just frees up more money in the budget to spend on abortion.
Both sides expressed confidence that the SCOTUS would rule in their favor. I wish I could express more confidence, but it’s very hard to predict whether this Court will do the right thing, the wrong thing or nothing at all. Sadly, the point may be “moot” (to use one of the Court’s new favorite words) because it’s doubtful that any Trump rule protecting the lives of the unborn will survive in the Biden Administration.
President Biden Is Undermining Our National Security

Having been in office just over a month…and what a record he’s rung up in just one month…
…President Biden is undermining national security in a number of ways, from opening our borders to destroying our energy independence to kowtowing to nations like Iran and China. When it comes to military matters, he seems more concerned with attacking our own troops for their alleged “systemic racism,” transphobia and “extremism” in voting for Trump than in making sure they’re ready to defend the country.
Victor Davis Hanson has a sobering article at American Greatness, expressing concern that Biden is about to reverse another of President Trump’s great achievements for which he got no credit – keeping the US out of new wars – by signaling so much weakness that he’s encouraging aggression in our enemies. Hanson refers to this as “stumbling into war.”
I hope and pray this doesn’t happen, but if we do end up in a new war, I’m fairly certain it will occur because of Biden “stumbling into” it.
Vindictive NYC Mayor Works To Hurt Trump

Just when you think the Democrats’ nasty partisan vindictiveness can’t get any more petty or childish, along comes New York City Mayor Bill DeBlasio to say, “Hold muh Chardonnay!” and sink to a new subterranean low.
DeBlasio canceled all the city’s contracts with the Trump Organization because Trump “incited the insurrection at the Capitol” (no, he didn’t, and it wasn’t an “insurrection,” no matter how many times you say it.) Never mind that the companies have been doing a good job for the people for decades, something you certainly can’t say for Democrats like DeBlasio. All that matters to him is public signaling of his mindless Trump rage.
And so, he ordered the Wollman Ice Rink in Central Park closed down right now because the Trump company runs it (in fact, they’ve run it since 1986, when Trump got disgusted with the Democrat government wasting time and taxpayer money while the rink remained shut down for six years and stepped in himself to renovate and reopen it – ahead of schedule and under budget.)
The rink was scheduled to close for the season in April anyway, but DeBlasio upset skaters and devastated children by closing it down six weeks early, just to signal how much he hate-hate-hates Trump. You know, like mature adults do. So one more beloved NYC landmark shut down by DeBlasio.
One New Yorker took a final skate on Saturday, and brought a flag with him, waving it for DeBlasio as a message: “Trump 2024.” As for DeBlasio’s future, he’s skating on thin ice himself. Let’s hope New York voters will finally wise up and put his tragically incompetent political career on ice.
New Biden Gaffes Brought To Light

President Biden is being accused of using the “N-word” in a speech to a virtual Munich Security Conference. To be honest, I can’t tell what he’s saying, which is true of most of his comments these days whether he’s slurring his words or not. But here it is, if you want to make something of it.
However, back in 2007, when he was much clearer and more semi-coherent, Biden appeared on David Letterman’s show and told an amusing anecdote about touring Congress as a young man and getting arrested for illegally occupying the presiding officer’s chair. Or as that’s called today, “TREASONOUS INSURRECTION!!!”
