I’ve never been a fan of political boycotts of companies. I figure they mostly just harm innocent employees, and I think it’s un-American to refuse to do business with someone just because they hold different views from me. So even though I knew, say, Starbucks, was a liberal company, I liked their coffee, so I still bought it in airports.

But what we are currently seeing from corporate America isn’t just a liberal tilt among the management ranks. It’s an all-out war on conservative vendors and customers, in blatant disregard for civil rights or good business practices. They are doing what I always urged people to avoid: trying to harm people just for having a different viewpoint. That’s vicious intolerance and open bigotry, not to mention restraint of trade.

We’ve seen it happen to Parler and other companies and individuals, who are losing their jobs, businesses and access to necessary services, just because they speak their minds and don’t toe the leftist line. So it’s time for conservatives to stand up against that and force a stop to it by using the most potent weapon we have: the power of the purse.

One of the most outrageous examples of this I’ve seen so far is the targeting of Mike Lindell, founder of MyPillow, for his support of President Trump and for him daring to voice distrust in the recent election. This week, Bed, Bath & Beyond, Kohl’s, Wayfair and HEB all severed ties with MyPillow and will no longer carry its products.

MyPillow is a proudly US-based company that employs over 1600 Americans. These retailers who are banning their products don’t seem to care how they might harm those American workers. They are free to correct me if I’m wrong, but I haven’t heard of any of them banning products from China, a nation that oppresses its citizens; shuts down churches; denies free speech; uses social media to enforce strict behavior and speech limits; imprisons political dissidents and condones slave labor (aside from the slave labor, I suddenly see why US leftists seem to admire China so much.) Nor have I heard of them banning products from companies run by Democrats who’ve spent the past four years promoting proven false claims that the 2016 election was stolen by Russia.

So these stores will carry products from China, but not American-made products because they disapprove of the political beliefs of the company’s owner and want to punish him for exercising his right to free speech to express an opinion about the election that tens of millions of Americans agree with.

Mike Lindell has an amazing and inspiring life story. Having suffered the anguish of addiction and risen to great success through his faith in God, he has been quoted as saying, “My passion is to give back, it’s always been to help people. I had all kinds of adversity. I feel very blessed to get through — by the very grace of God — to where I’m at, and my heart is to help people.” And that he has done, in abundance.

MyPillow is famous for its charitable efforts, including giving thousands of pillows to charities, for homeless shelters, natural disaster relief, hospitals, the Salvation Army, the Wounded Warrior Project and others. When the COVID-19 pandemic struck, Lindell was among the first to voluntarily convert his factory to creating masks to alleviate the shortage. I thought Democrats were crazy about masks, but they certainly have zero gratitude for the man who provided those masks to them.

Have any of these morally-superior retailers done half as much to help their fellow humans as Mike Lindell has?

To cite just a few examples from the November election, in Texas, Trump got nearly 5.9 million votes. There are 20 Bed, Bath and Beyond stores in the state. With brick and mortar retailers struggling to stay afloat, can they really afford to infuriate 5.9 million potential customers? HEB is a Texas-based company. Do they think nearly 6 million of their fellow Texans are insurrectionists for supporting Trump and being suspicious of the election results?

Even in a state that Trump lost heavily, California, there are 19 Kohl's stores and over 6 million Trump voters. Is it good business to virtue-signal that you don’t want their dirty money? Because it is entirely within their power to withhold it and let these companies try to stay in business by selling fine linens and housewares to leftist Twitter trolls who live in vans, dorm rooms and their moms’ basements.

If you decide to do that, you might want to let them know through their websites and social media pages exactly why. If you are a stockholder in any of these companies, you should definitely let them know that you strongly disapprove of their executives prioritizing leftist groupthink and anti-America hostility to freedom of speech and thought over maximizing profits and carrying American-made products.

In the meantime, you can always order MyPillow’s many fine products (it’s not just pillows) direct from www.mypillow.com.

And while it might be impossible to avoid all “woke” companies, this blogger has compiled a list of the 12 big corporations most openly hostile to conservatives, in case you don’t want to give them your money so they can use it to buy clubs to beat you with (at least one might surprise you.) It also offers some alternatives more deserving of your support.

I agree with financial boycotts. If they attack us and discriminate us, why would I spend my money to make them more powerful so they can hurt us more?

Thank you for this information, Jim. I am a personal friend of Tonja Waring, a close friend of Mike's, so I tend to pay attention to his passion for our President. Unfortunately, I am not surprised at all with this information, but am incredibly sad that these companies are so anti-God. I am a firm believer that Mike will overcome, and God will make sure those who are against Him will pay a much larger price than just a boycott. If Mike keeps his eye on the prize, he will benefit greatly. Again, thank you.

When companies want to alienate between 75 and 80 million people, I want to know who really owns you. If I own a bank and you have between 5 and 25 million dollars with me, it is not good common business sense to deny you services. You are being held hostage by forces of darkness, and these layers are being peeled back for full exposure.

With respect to the keystone pipeline, perhaps an enmasse demand to congressmen and senators telling them we want the pipeline would work. Especially if we flooded democratic congressmen and senators with the demand.

We should also push for a repeal of the 17th amendment. Our Founders were truly wise in putting the senators under State Legislators' control. I think in make senators more answerable to their States wishes and will eliminate some of these senseless mandates.

I have something else that I would like to get to you. It is about 5 pages long but will need some background information for you to understand it. Would you like to receive it? It involves some of my research and comments about our nonnews media. Please advise me how to get it to you, if you desire.

    Thanks and God Bless

Thank you, it's about time! I've been boycotting China which was so difficult because I couldn't find a dog leash even that wasn't made in China. If we as Americans don't stand up now we're all going to be deep in communism's hold. It's already late so now we need to play catch up!

The only power the common American has is the power of the purse. It should be used as such. Individually it may not make a difference but collectively it can. Scripture calls us all to deny self from time to time for the greater good and or in support of "The Way". A small cup of coffee no matter how over priced it is, is of little consequence in the bigger scheme of things until one begins to recognize the trickle effect. Christ calls us to get out of ourselves to look at the bigger picture and do what little we can when we can, to promote His Will rather than our own. That is why we are in the dismal spiritual state we are in, even just one little cup of coffee. And yes to be sure we all have our own little cups with some a little nastier than others. Respectfully submitted.

I spoke with the manager at my local Bed, Bath, and Beyond to let him know their store was off my shopping list due to their attitude toward Mike Lindell. The manager insisted that My Pillow products are not being dropped because of political hatred, but because sales were bad. They are either backpedaling or trying to cover their _________s. Mike, can you uncover which it is?

Instead of a boycott, perhaps conservatives should give these companies a lot more business. Buy lots of things from these companies, especially pillows and sheets, and then return them the following Saturday "because they are not nearly as good as My Pillow products." If 295,000 Texans lined up at each BB&B store to return their purchases, this would keep the employees on full time (so not hurting them) while making a point. Drive through Starbucks at their busiest time. Leave a tip for the employees, but don't buy any coffee. Then get back in line.

Mr. Huckabee, I have received your morning, evening, and daily verse emails for many years now and I am always thankful for your insight on current events. As I was reading your January 20, 2021 evening letter, I was caught by surprise about one of the companies you mentioned in the Political Boycott message.

I am a native Texan and proud Conservative. I also work for Texas owned H-E-B (don't forget the dashes) and have for 23 years. When I read this particular letter and noticed H-E-B as one of the listed companies boycotting My Pillow, I was taken back. I thought, "Why would the company I work for do this, much less make it public?" So, I immediately reached out to a Senior Leader to let them know what I just read and was curious if this was real.

While waiting to hear back, I couldn't help but reflect on the company I work for and what I know my company stands for. Many may not know, but H-E-B is privately owned and all H-E-B Partners (our term for employees) are owners due to the generosity of the company several years ago. H-E-B is a complex and very diverse company across the board. With over 100,000 Partners, we have a very diverse group of people from all cultures and backgrounds and across the full political spectrum, but one thing I can assure you, ALL PARTNERS at H-E-B care for each other and our communities without bias for any reason. We are a true family atmosphere and genuinely welcome everyone to our work groups and to our stores. This is our culture and how we operate and every Partner is extremely proud of this fact.

With that said, I could simply not comprehend how my company would be a part of such a boycott. As I found out today, it appears that we were lumped in with these other companies in error. H-E-B recently discontinued My Pillow because it simply was not selling. We do this with many products throughout the year, but in no way does it mean we are boycotting these products. The same is true for My Pillow. I can assure you that regardless of political leanings , either way by any of our leadership, we are a company that serves everyone and we stock and maintain product as long as it sells.

It is unfortunate that any company would alienate their customers but that is not a practice H-E-B subscribes to, it is actually quite the opposite.

I just wanted to share this with you, and although many may not believe my statements, I am okay with that because I know the truth about this and I know, after 23 years of service, that the company I work for is dedicated to people, communities, and product integrity.

A side note, you asked if any of these companies have done as much for people as Mr. Lindell. Just to name a few, H-E-B contributes millions to schools and teachers that perform at a high level. We build homes for wounded warriors. We sponsor places like Texas State Aquarium in Corpus Christi. We feed and rebuild Texas after natural disasters. We do charitable work all over the state with missions like Meals on Wheels, United Way, Feast of Sharing, all Texas Food Banks, the list could go on and on.

I cannot speak for the other companies listed and I am sure Mr. Liddell has done great things for many many people, but I would put H-E-B up against anyone or any corporation at any time and I know we would shine just as bright as the best of them in all we do for people.

Thank you for your newsletters as I always enjoy them.

    Sincerely
Proud H-E-B Partner and Texas Conservative, Mark C

I cancelled by 20 year mvc when I heard, removed their app and took myself off their email. They must be getting a lot of cancelled accounts because my call was transferred to a person. She indicated they still have stock, I told her to enjoy all the new liberal clients that will start shopping at Kohl’s now. That if discontinuing to to do business with a supporter of our duly elected President was their business model I could not shop there anymore. I also pointed out I don’t know of anyone threatened by a pillow on the shelf.
