BIBLE VERSE OF THE DAY

“Progressivism” In Action!

By Mike Huckabee

Read this jaw-dropping story about all the hours wasted at a meeting of the San Francisco School Board arguing over the bean-counting of identity groups before they rejected the only volunteer to fill an empty position because, even though he’s gay and has mixed-race kids, he’s white.

Yes, this is the same school board that recently voted to change all the historic names of schools based partly on misinformation from the Internet, at great expense despite a shortage of school funds, and all while they still haven’t gotten around to figuring out how to reopen their schools.

For another hilarious example of cockeyed leftist priorities, have you heard about professional anti-gun activist David Hogg’s plan to put MyPillow out of business by starting a politically correct "progressive" pillow company?

Even though he knows nothing about business, or pillows, or even how to find someone to make pillows for him, he’s sure this will be a rousing success since he’s already appointed an anti-gun/LGBTQ rights activist to his fantasy pillow company’s “activist advisory board.” If you want a thriving business, that's the first thing you need.

(Bonus: The Washington Post actually ran a story promoting this hilarious non-story, but they wanted to include the company’s logo, so Hogg took to the Internet to beg for a designer who could scribble out a logo in two hours for $200. Man, this sounds like a great investment opportunity.)

These sterling examples of how badly leftists run anything other than their mouths are not isolated instances, just because they involve one or a handful of bumbling amateurs. Getting hundreds of professional “progressive” politicians together to run an entire state doesn’t make things any more efficient, it just lifts the caliber of disaster to an even grander scale.

Even liberals such as Ezra Klein in the New York Times are starting to squirm over how California, which should be the shining example to all Americans of how great 100% “progressive” governance is, instead is a basket case with a growing movement to recall the Governor. Like Venezuela, California has great weather, abundant resources and beautiful beaches, yet people are fleeing both, and for the same reason.

Despite some of the highest tax rates in the US, the simplest duties of a state seem to be beyond the competence of California’s leaders, from distributing the COVID vaccine to building a train line. I would add “keeping the streets safe,” but their leftist politicians and D.A.’s seem to be actively working against that.

(Since the NY Times requires a paid subscription, that link is to an excerpt at Instapundit that gives you the gist.)

This is why I keep saying that before the federal government imposes a lot of “progressive” policies on the rest of the country that’s doing fine without them, I’d like them to point to one place – just one – where longterm rule by far-left Democrats hasn’t resulted in a filthy, crime-ridden, economically-depressed, rat-infested, over-taxed hellhole that people are fleeing from.

Still waiting…

My Show Monologue

By Mike Huckabee

We get viewer questions and comments each week in our [email protected] mailbox and there’s one popping up a lot lately: Should conservatives and Trump voters pull out of the Republican Party and form a 3rd party? I say absolutely not! Why would those in the overwhelming majority be the ones to leave? The never-Trumpers in the GOP are a very small minority—mostly DC swamp rats who hate Trump because President Trump disrupted the business as usual flow of the Beltway. The loss of prestige, power, and prosperity to those who have gotten rich and powerful by snubbing middle class working families in favor of globalist multi-national corporate titans is the basis of the intense hatred of all things affiliated with President Trump. But why would those in the majority walk away from the party and its infrastructure to leave it in the hands of a selfish and self-righteous super minority who miss the days when they made big money by pretending to be conservative when in fact they were and are nothing more than political parasites?

The notion of creating a 3rd party is nonsense. It’s a recipe for disaster. The parties are, like it or not, the track upon which the political train runs. Take away the track, and there is a guaranteed derailment. So, if the Liz Cheneys, Mitt Romneys, and Lisa Murkowski’s and the so-called Lincoln Project leaders want a split in the party, I would tell them what my pastor has said about people getting mad and leaving the church, “Don’t let the door hit you where the Good Lord split you!”

The principles of the current Republican Party are putting America First, building back our economy by energy independence, standing up to China’s bullying, re-aligning relationships in the Middle East, getting out of endless wars, standing strong for the sanctity of human life, religious liberty, cutting high taxes so working people keep more of what they worked for, ending big-government regulation that strangles small businesses, and securing our borders and insisting on immigration being legal. Those are principles that are embraced by Republicans and Independents and some Democrats who are sick of being looked down on by elitist snobs. We don’t embrace socialism nor a nanny-state. If a small, but loud group of self-serving Republicans don’t want to be part of that party, let THEM leave and form their own party. We should stay, build upon the movement, and keep electing like-minded conservatives by inviting the dis-affected and political underclass to join with us.

The launch of a new or 3rd party makes no sense for those of us in the majority of an existing party. If there are 100 people in a restaurant and 99 are not smoking in a no-smoking space, it’s easier to simply tell the one smoker to step outside than to disrupt the dining experience of the 99.

This is no time for pro-life, pro-free enterprise, pro-liberty people to leave a party. It’s time to recruit more people, organize better and win future elections and take control of the political process. And to those who want to return us to being the silent majority who shuts up and follows blindly off the cliff, we let them know WE are staying put and in the words of my pastor, “Don’t let the door hit you where the Good Lord split you!”

Our Intellectual Superiors

By Mike Huckabee

One of the more irritating features of our liberal media elites is their combination of ignorance and arrogance. That was on embarrassing display when NBC’s Andrea Mitchell tried to correct Sen. Ted Cruz’s description of the “impeachment” trial by quoting Shakespeare, that it was “full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.” She condescendingly tweeted, “No, that’s Faulkner.”

No, it’s Shakespeare, from "Macbeth," as many gleeful people rushed to inform her. She admitted the error, but not the arrogance behind it.

Still, just for future reference, here is more of that quote, and I think it’s even more apt for this situation:

“It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.”

Good Political News (Yes, It Happens)

By Mike Huckabee

This week, a federal judge permanently blocked New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s restrictions on indoor worship services that the Supreme Court put under a temporary injunction last year.

A Michigan judge threw out charges against six hair stylists who cut hair in front of the state Capitol to protest Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s draconian business shutdown policies.

And a federal judge in Texas extended his stay on President Biden’s executive order to halt all deportations of illegal aliens.

You can tell things have really changed when all of the good political news is coming from judicial rulings!

Words Of Encouragement

By Mike Huckabee

Donald Trump Jr. offered some words of encouragement this week to Trump supporters that “our amazing movement” of the people against the establishment and the elite is “not done yet.” He said he knows we’re up against a lot, but his dad is “still going to keep going.” He also had some comments about media double standards on “fact-checking” and Biden’s “China first, America last” policies.

Note also the quote from Trump campaign advisor Jody Miller that Trump “would be involved in the 2022 midterms with the immediate focus being to help Republicans win back both chambers of Congress.”

So for all the “I’ll form a third party/I’ll vote Democrat/I just won’t vote” commenters still angry over Trump’s loss, please note that if you really support Trump, what he wants you to do is get to work electing Republican majorities to the House and Senate in 2022. Keeping the Dems in power won’t help Trump, it won’t help you, and it sure as heck won’t help America.

On splitting the party, you are spot on Governor. There are far to many party line voters for a split party to succeed in a national election. People elected Trump because he was an outsider running on the Republican platform, not on the Patriot platform. The Republican base needs to figure out how to clean out it's own closet, not how to start a new party. Trump has a large base and I think he could help clean up the party if he could focus on the objective rather than himself.

I am so proud of those judges for standing up to Biden. He has no right to stop people with a criminal record from being deported. In my opinion he had no right to stop the keystone pipe line. If more of these judges would stand up to Biden and Democratic governors who have allowed authority to go to their head, some of the rules could be lifted. Some of these rules imposed on citizens are or should be unconstitutional.

Under the "words of encouragement section"---- If we "We the people" dont get to the bottom of this past election fraud that occurred, get it exposed, people go to jail, machines get replaced and shipment of ballots banned. Voting in 2022 won't be any different. As the saying goes -- Trust me. You can have all the movement, slogans and party you want.

The 3 rd Party would be an idea however the party is not the biggest issue its the people in the leadership role or lack of leadership that is corroded. All the lifetime Swamp members are so toxic the will be a failure if they are not removed. The entire Congress is nothing more than a Mob with a few that will talk as if were a bit concerned about the voting blocks. The minorities tend to vote with the Left and have had horrific to miserable lifestyles the people that voted for the Left forgot all about them and well just left them horrible and miserable. The minorities didn't change their voting habits and self elect a Communist instead of a Democrat one that will aid China and other countries that hate us so 2 parties 3 parties 4 parties it doesn't Georgia stayed home and Biden was going to sign Anti American executive orders anyway so Congress really will mean nothing its a wash the GOP has so many weenies it really cannot be called a party just self servers what ever lines their pockets is what will pass.

I read the article about the Rock Hall of Fame. It’s so sad that things have come to this. Did the Hall ask these artists if they want to be nominated? If not this could really put them in an awkward position. I mean I don’t want to take anything away from these artists, they are very successful in their music field. But several of them are only nominated because they are black. Do they really want to be awarded based solely on their race and not their contributions to Rock & Roll? Could be rather embarrassing. Have Dionne Warwick sing one of here great Rock songs at the Induction ceremony? Really. The problem is the Hall has apparently been “gotten “ to by some “race Baiters “ as I call them. I assume pressured to have more black musicians inducted. If we as a nation don’t start standing up to these “professional race Baiters “ (the ones that really don’t want racism to end because they would be out of a job, aka AL) racism will NEVER END!
We need to respectfully let these groups, organizations, companies know that this has to end! We can boycott or let advertisers know we don’t approve and we will take our business elsewhere.
    Speak up!
    God Bless

    Gov. Huckabee:
I agree with your argument about a third party. But what do conservatives do with a Republican Party that has seven Senators who vote for Trump's impeachment and others like Nikki Haley who is already running for President while badmouthing Trump. The Democrats on the other hand, like it or not, never break rank.
On a Fox News show, perhaps it was Kevin McCarthy, said that the Republicans need to do what they do best. What would that be? Defy solidarity and continue to be a political party of losers?
The Republicans can only seem to lead from behind (no pun intended). The third-party crowd doesn't want a third party, they just want an effective GOP. Why expect that to ever happen?

Mike could we get a national poll on how many people wish they had Governor Ron DeSantis as their Governor of their state I estamate 108 million people wish DeSantis was their Governor instead of the one they have, No Offense Texas you are good however you are about to be overrun by outlaws as you have been for the last 10 years better keep both eyes open as the trails to your state are filling up by outsiders the Left, and Comrade Biden is sending his people your way. The swamp hates what Texas and Florida have and will do whatever it takes to overthrow your states. The Left wants this country destroyed. Look at the Capital grounds it hates people getting to close and the people own the grounds Biden locked the people out of its own house.

So much for a period of “Inclusion” !
I watched day number last of the RE preachment process. Seems to me that this has been a little over four years of DEMs displaying hatred, anger and fear that the criminal machine they created was being disassembled.
We get to see, from the front row, how petty and low they can be. One side of the DEMs crying “you Republicans have to play nice, you have to be inclusive, you have to be more accepting of the left. And then we get to watch Nancy P. get up in front of a camera sniveling that all republicans are terrorist because they are not following HER. Because she isn't getting what she wants. She can't stand anyone not agreeing with her. Can't stomach free thought and debate. She is fine as long as everyone falls in BEHIND her. It's like watching a spoiled child except the child we are watching, is armed and dangerous. She is a clear and present danger to our democracy and the republic of the united states.

We were forced to see 57 mindless lemmings accuse anyone who's Opinion differs from theirs being labeled deadbeats that have no hope of employment outside government service. A few points to take away right hear
1.) Nancy P. has never had a job outside the Government.
2.) Nancy P. came into office dirt broke and is now a multimillionaire all VIA taxpayers.
3.) Nancy P. has never owned operated or managed a private business that I am aware of.
4.) Nancy P. has a VERY big problem in her home state. A problem that she would do well to fix before she starts throwing stones at others.

If all these DEM's are so concerned with Trumps followers. Maybe SHE, and the rest of THE Lemmings, might want to bring Mad Maxine up on charges. Maybe we should all revisit the era when the loony left called for “attacking Republicans at restaurants, at gas stations, in stores”. If this is of such high concern then let us return to where it all began. Let us go back to 2016 and Maxine waters rallying her followers to violence against republicans.

And not to beat a dead horse but Trump used the term “Fight like hell”. Maxine used the term “Attack Them”. One is open to interpretation. While “Attack” is clearly NOT.

Very interesting theory, but at the same time one that validates the fact that the US form of governance is fundamentally “by the people.” As the population changes over time the politics follows, if this were not the case than one could say that the government is not “of the people” but instead is controlled by some force other than the people. (interestingly enough the real battle is not between people with different viewpoints but instead between people with money and those without)

Putting aside the disconnect between what “the people” think and want vs. what political parties think and want we have to consider that over the course of the country’s history as the makeup of the people has changed so have the various political parties that claim to represent their views. Given the events of the last four decades I have to agree with your view that the Republican party is going extinct. Not because of competition from any other political party so much as just a corollary to the gradual extinction of its primary members. (white baby-boomers)

Just as the Republican party replaced the Whig party as one group of Americans grew larger than another, the current Republican party will likewise be replaced by something else. So will the current Democratic party. The forces behind the changes to both of the dominate political parties have been building for many years now and as has been the case for most of our country’s history the driver behind those forces are generational in nature. We are in the process of a generational changing of the guard in America (and in many other countries around the world) as the once dominate group (Baby-Boomers) are succeeded by the Millennial's. I suspect that very few if any of the Millennial generation finds any attraction to either of the major political parties in the US today. The only question is whether they will change the current parties to their liking or form new parties to suit their needs. Either way it means change is on the horizon. Just as the slave owning gentry in the ex-Confederate states saw their ideals and very way of life threatened and then permanently changed so it goes for any group of citizens who cling to a familiar, comfortable (to them) way of life. Progress both technological and ideological will always prevail over the desires of any group of humans to maintain their current status quo even though the energy expended by the defenders of the status quo is only exceeded by the output of our sun. If they weren’t already dead you could ask any of the kings and rulers of the 18th and 19th centuries about how things must inevitably change. Even though they may not have admitted it right up until the moment of their loss of power, history shows that change prevailed even in spite of the massive resources brought to bear in defense of their way of life.

Given that change is inevitable what remains is a decision to fight the change (futile) or adapt to the change or just merely try to exist in such a way as to minimize the effects of the change. (another possibility I suppose would be to find a way to use the change to one’s advantage, but that is a job for a young person)

On a related note, the actual threat to Texan’s (and their way of life, such that it is) is not the ideology of people migrating to Texas but rather the population growth that it drives. The single largest threat to our species continued existence on this world is simply the sheer numbers of our species inhabiting the planet. Every single negative facing our species from fresh water scarcity, food availability,  natural resource depletion, greenhouse gas generation, congested transit corridors and thousands of other things are all caused by too many people relative to the finite resources on the planet.

This threat was first studied and documented in the mid twentieth century after the human population had doubled in the span of less than sixty years (1900-1960) and unbeknownst to the scientists of the mid twentieth century it would double again before the end of the century. Many books were published foretelling a future of mass starvation and global pandemics feeding on humans weakened by starvation. Little did they know that future technology would be invented that effectively delayed this eventual outcome. Now with a human population near eight billion we are in need of even more technological innovation to postpone the inevitable collapse of civilization or face the unpleasant task of reducing the growth of our population. Once upon a time pathogens circulating amongst us routinely wiped out huge percentages of our species, 15-30% are the best estimates of current day anthropologists.  Today due to the advanced state of technology and biological knowledge a global pandemic such as Covid-19 has to date killed  three hundredths of a percent of the human population world-wide. (2.4M deaths out of a total population of 8B) A far cry from the 25%+ fatality rate from the Black Death pandemics which raged from the 14th through the 17th centuries.

But back to Texas, what I see in their future is a replication of what happened in CA from 1946-2000. Once upon a time CA was the land of “milk and honey” (in our lifetimes actually!) and it all gradually went away as the population grew by ten million a decade from 1950-1980. The politics are a side effect of the population growth not the cause of it or any of the ills facing CA today. The politicians in TX (just as worthless to humanity as the pols in CA) like to brag about how many jobs are created and how many citizens flock to their state from other places. (presumably worse places by any measure) As they use the power of their office to invent this movement they are sowing the very seeds of their state’s destruction. In time TX will be just as crowded, have just as much traffic, pollution, crime, homeless people, and all the same negatives that CA currently has. All of it caused by overpopulation. (one of the major reasons we never seriously considered relocating to TX, the other of course is that the state is still overwhelmingly populated by Texan’s)

Another detail I noted in your data supporting your theory is related to immigration. While it is true that the US was founded on the idea of becoming a beacon to people the world over in a bid to attract the best and brightest to bring their desire to succeed and make their fortune (along with an underclass of laborers fleeing countries that held them in positions of indentured servitude that would come to the US and be both exploited by the capital owning class and still be paid an actual wage for the labors) that was at a time when the leaders of the US foolishly believed America was a land of unlimited resources. Now that we know better, is it time to reevaluate the desirability of unchecked immigration? On the one hand you have countries like Japan with no official immigration policy (all emigrant labor is “undocumented” and illegal but is ignored by the state as long as it is kept hidden) and as a result have a population that is both aging and shrinking at the same time, (many countries in the EU are in a similar position)

As hard as it is to admit it is none the less true that vast fortunes generated by companies founded in Silicon Valley (or any of the Tech incubator cities in the US) are largely the work of recent immigrants from mostly Asian countries. And of course the captains of industry (and the workers they exploited) in the 19th century were likewise mostly recent immigrants or in a few cases the children of immigrants.  One of the best parts of this structure that has served our country so well for over two hundred years was the “hunger” factor. The people who made something of themselves here did so after succeeding in the struggle to even get here in the first place. It was this drive and determination to build a better live for themselves and their families that fueled their passion to succeed in whatever endeavor they undertook and they had to keep at it as long as there were people behind them on the next ship even hungrier than they were.

If we shut down the pipeline of hungry people that are driven to succeed by sheer need, what will motivate the existing people that are “comfortable” and don’t want to see the boat rocked by newcomers? The history of companies (particularly in the pre-corporate days) was fairly predictable, great initial success as a result of the founders hard work and innovation, a period of coasting as the second generation took the reins and an eventual decline as the third generation (unfamiliar with the words “need, want, drive”) either let the company collapse upon itself or sold out to maintain their comfortable lifestyle without having to do any work to earn it. I fear if there are no “new” generations in the future we will become a country of comfortable, unmotivated status quo preserving individuals ripe for takeover by a country that for any reason is still hungry for advancement and achievement. (admittedly a small number in the 21st century, but it only takes one, like China)

We loved your show last night and were particularly moved by Jason Brown’s inspiring story to leave a lucrative contract with the NFL to buy and operate a farm that helps to feed local food pantry’s. His story made me realize that “woke” can be related to so many things including the thought that million of dollars were wasted by the Democrats and like minded Republicans in trying to impeach President Trump. Those dollars wasted could have fed so many people. Perhaps the Dems and Republicans need to take a page out of Jason Brown’s playbook. God Bless Jason.

Happy Valentine’s Day to you and your family, Governor Huckabee!

As to the ones who want to form a third party.....don't forget the 75,000,000 Americans, Republican and Democrat, who voted for President Trump. Compare that to the few never-Trumpers and it is a no brainer. Besides, those who leave will need somewhere to come back to when they realize what they have done.

Articke by the Babylon Bee gave me a laugh. Need in these dark days.
I see the opening public shots as the left continues the civil war started by BLM and Antifa Marxists. It is time I told a few that we be like the Minutemen. In prayer and ready to move at God's command.
It is a battle between God and Satan clearly.
It has split my church and the area I live in.
It is the " battle for the soul of America". This is the crucial year. The left is flying under the hammer and sickle of the Communists
They have turned DC into a temple to pagan gods and seduced many ignorant believers and secular and religious institutions to worshipping there. Inthank God that some, like James Dobson are finally speaking out
    We need more like this!
