DAILY BIBLE VERSE

6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Philippians 4:6

1. Pray for the victims

By Mike Huckabee

Please pray for the victims of a shooting in Fort Pierce, Florida, Monday.

https://www.foxnews.com/us/florida-shooting-martin-luther-king-jr-day-event-eight-people-wounded

About 1,000 people were in a park for a Martin Luther King Day Car Show and Family Fun Day when two groups got into an altercation and someone started firing. Eight people were injured in the shooting and ensuing panic, with one gunshot victim in critical condition. No arrests had been made at the time of this writing, but police say they are following several leads.

This would be horrific under any circumstances, but the idea of doing it at an event honoring Dr. King that was filled with children is especially despicable. Let’s also pray that the police swiftly arrest whoever was responsible.

2. Congratulations

Congratulations to the researchers at MIT who decided there weren’t enough actual problems that need advanced technological breakthroughs, so they’ve been spending their time creating a way to use virtual reality to virtue signal.

https://www.theblaze.com/news/mit-video-game-gets-players-to-confront-white-midwestern-woman-aboard-airplane-over-her-simulated-xenophobia

As noted at the link, they appear completely oblivious to their own prejudices about white women from the Midwest. Maybe some tech students at the University of Illinois could build a gadget to help them see that.

3. California crazy

By Mike Huckabee

Someone needs to remind the YMCA in Santee, California (San Diego), that the “C” stands for “Christian.” It sounds as if the people running it no longer identify as Christian.

https://www.breitbart.com/sports/2023/01/15/ymca-staff-shamed-teen-girl-upset-by-seeing-trans-womans-penis-womens-locker-room/

This story blew up after 17-year-old Rebecca Phillips complained to the City Council that she was shocked and frightened when a naked man walked through the YMCA women’s locker facilities while she was showering, exposing his male genitalia. She said when she reported this to YMCA staffers, they shamed her as a transphobic bigot because the naked man in the showers with teenage girls “identified” as female, or claimed to, which is all that the state of California requires under state law (granted, they do have some justification for claiming that they couldn’t do anything about it because…California.)

Other blue states have gone equally insane, like Washington, where the Port Townsend YMCA banned an 80-year-old woman for complaining that a biological male was showering next to her.

The Santee YMCA insisted that it was following all the laws and the guidance of “experts.” Correction: people who “identify” as experts. Personally, I think if you can’t tell the difference between a woman and a naked man, and can’t see anything wrong with letting naked men invade women’s bathrooms and locker rooms where underage girls are showering, then you aren’t an expert in anything other than possibly brain damage.

4. Biden document "discovery" sparks huge security questions

By Mike Huckabee

Yesterday, we questioned the security of highly classified documents taken by outgoing Vice President Biden when he went home to Delaware in January 2017, noting that Hunter Biden lived there after his 2017 divorce.

Of course, it’s possible those documents didn’t go directly to their final destinations. They might’ve spent some time...well, who knows where? All we can do for now is look at how secure they were once they got to his house and office.

We do know that for two years, Hunter Biden lived at his father’s Delaware home after his divorce. On a background check for a rental application in 2018 (revealed on an anonymous Twitter account), he falsely claimed he owned that property. He was deep into addiction at that time, so maybe that’s why on the same form, he said he was paying almost $50,000 a month in rent to live for a year in a home he also was claiming he owned. This makes no sense.

So, was it just the drugs talking? Or was Hunter pulling numbers out of the air, lying on the background check to qualify for some pricey digs in L.A.? (That would be consistent; we know he lied on another background check to buy a gun, stating under penalty of perjury that he wasn’t a drug user.) Had he actually bought the Biden home with money from...somewhere? We know he has amazingly generous friends, such as the entertainment lawyer who’s been covering his $20,000-a-month rent in Malibu and also paid off his delinquent IRS bill. Or was he just crashing at his dad’s home and actually paying “the Big Guy” close to $50,000 a month for...some other reason? And if he did pay his dad, wouldn’t that be reflected on Joe’s tax returns?

Joe Biden’s tax returns for those years reflect no such payments. On his 2017 tax return, he listed a mere $19,800 in “rents received.” In 2018, that figure was zero.

As Tucker Carlson pointed out Monday, Biden pressed Trump during one of the presidential debates to “show us your tax returns.” After Trump refused, Biden, to show his “transparency,” posted his own on the website joebiden.com. Of course, now that Trump’s tax returns are out, it’s possible to see that during his time in government, he got poorer, while during Biden’s time in government (virtually his entire adult life), he got infinitely richer.

And now, Joe Biden is the one who would rather keep his tax returns private. Or at least certain ones. The website he set up to link to those returns no longer links to the years 2016, 2017 or 2018. “As of tonight,” Tucker said, “those links have been deactivated. If you go there, you’ll find yourself being taken by force to a Democratic Party fundraising website.”

But, guess what? If you go looking, Joe’s tax returns from those years are still available at the Internet Archive “Wayback Machine.” (The internet truly is forever.) Not having expertise in tax law --- or that kind of time --- we haven’t gone through those returns ourselves, but here they are. Joe did say he wanted to be transparent.

https://web.archive.org/web/20201029203609/https://joebiden.com/financial-disclosure/

Tucker speculates that whatever financial arrangement Joe had with Hunter might have something to do with how Sen. Biden was able to afford “all these huge houses in Delaware over the years.” The money wouldn't have come from Jill Biden. Certainly Hunter had found ways to afford luxury, through the generosity of friends and also by building relationships with foreign business executives and government officials, which are by nature quid pro quo, especially when they involve someone with only familial connections to offer.

Jon Levine at the NEW YORK POST noted to Tucker that the period after Biden left the vice presidency was a chaotic period in his son’s life, a time when he was deep into drugs and yet involved in some of his most controversial business dealings, as with the Chinese energy company CEFC. (That was the one for which 10 percent of the proceeds were to be held by Hunter for “the Big Guy.”)

Recall that this was the time when Hunter was even setting up an office for his Chinese partners, including space for his dad, and asked the office manager to get keys for Joe, stepmother Jill, uncle Jim, and Gongwen Dong, “emissary” for the chairman of CEFC. It was September 2017.

https://dailycaller.com/2020/12/11/hunter-joe-biden-cefc-office-mates/

Levine pointed out that Hunter at this time was bringing in millions of dollars, so we’d assume that if he was paying Joe $50,000 a month in “rent,” it wouldn’t be that much to him.

He also said there’s evidence that Hunter spent time in the garage when classified documents were presumably in there. They apparently didn’t keep visitor logs, and so we have no word on whether Chinese business associates visited the house, or what kind of wild drug-fueled parties Hunter had there when his dad was in DC, or who might have quietly crashed them. The home has a history of security lapses, as when in 2015, the Secret Service shut off the security system because of malfunctions.

Some observers don’t share our suspicion that Biden was targeted by his own political party, but as guest host Judge Jeanine Pirro said Monday on FOX NEWS’ “Watter’s World,” a growing number of Democrats and even some in media tend to suggest that. For example, CNN showed a photo of Biden in his Corvette in the driveway with the interior of the garage in the background; the commentators laughed at the haphazard stacks of papers that could be seen. One remarked, “...That looks like a mess...That’s worse than my garage! I mean, that’s not where---I don’t know exactly where the documents are in that garage, but that does not look like what a secure location would be.”

This is CNN. They apparently got the memo and know it’s okay to mock the President.

Rep. Adam Schiff has said that national security might have been endangered. (He and/or Eric Swalwell are the ones always trotted out first, because they’ll say anything.) Look for Democrats' defense of Biden to weaken in coming days.

Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan, new chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, told Judge Pirro that the Oversight Committee, headed by Kentucky Rep. James Comer, is working on getting the Treasury Department’s ‘suspicious activity’ financial reports, which should answer some questions about the flow of money. He brought up the timeline showing that the first batch of classified documents was found at the Penn Biden Center on November 2 --- before the election --- but was kept secret. The second batch was found in Biden’s garage on December 18 but was also kept secret. On January 9, there was a leak to CBS NEWS about classified documents, but it was only about the Biden Center, not the garage. This is transparency?

And he brought up a perplexing question: What is White House counsel Richard Sauber (not just Biden’s personal attorneys) doing “accompanying DOJ officials when they go to the Biden residence to pick up these documents?” Why is he physically present at these searches? (Trump certainly did not have that benefit.) Jordan said, “Looks like he [Sauber] just made himself a fact witness and is part of this investigation now.”

Of course, as we’ve said, the most intriguing question of all is this: What started their search in the first place?

Here’s more from Jordan, as told to Maria Bartiromo on Sunday.

https://cnsnews.com/article/washington/susan-jones/rep-jim-jordan-why-do-democrats-lawyers-get-find-and-hand-over

Trump’s acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker touches on some of these questions in an interview for NEWSMAX, saying the Biden White House has lost control of the narrative surrounding these events. The bottom line, he says, is the contents of the documents in question. He's right --- so far, we have no clue.  Good to watch.

https://www.newsmax.com/newsmax-tv/biden-fbi-classified/2023/01/16/id/1104608/

Law professor Jonathan Turley gets into the issue of Biden’s use of attorneys to look through classified material in his latest column for the NEW YORK POST. Among the vexing questions he asks: “Why was a legal team sent in six years after Biden took the documents upon leaving as Vice President?”

Turley makes the point that the people conducting the search were acting on behalf of the President’s personal interests, not the public interest. He also notes that classified documents, if they’re kept as they should be, in folders with thick red or yellow edges and bold black classification designations, should not have been easily missed. Had some of them been removed from their folders for review and stored without cover? If so, there goes the claim that their possession was “inadvertent.”

https://jonathanturley.org/2023/01/16/all-the-presidents-men-bidens-use-of-lawyers-raises-additional-concerns-over-the-handling-classified-material/

Finally, THE NEW YORK TIMES is still trying to protect Biden, even if it has to lie: “Republicans have yet to demonstrate that the senior Mr. Biden was involved in his son’s business deals or took any action to benefit him or his foreign partners.”

Really??

………

RELATED: Speaking of the DOJ/FBI treating Biden and Trump so very differently, former FBI Assistant Director Chris Swecker explained to JUST THE NEWS that the culture at the FBI has dramatically shifted in recent years, especially under James Comey and Christopher Wray.

Swecker blamed academia for indoctrinating students to think that “if you’re virtuous and you’re highly educated, you can do everybody else’s thinking for them.”

He continued, "And you can decide that President Trump is not fit to be President, therefore we need to go after him. You can decide that domestic terrorists only exist on the right side of the political aisle, not on the left side of the political aisle. You can pick winners and losers. And that's exactly what is happening inside the FBI."

This is a must-read.

5. No regrets from this "intelligence expert"

By Mike Huckabee

Those 50-plus “intelligence experts” who signed the pre-election letter claiming that Hunter Biden’s laptop looked like “Russian disinformation” have mostly been pretty quiet as of late. But one of them spoke out in an interview with the Australian newspaper on Sunday, and what he said was a surprise. Not the meat of it, of course, but just that he actually admitted it.

https://www.foxnews.com/media/ex-intel-official-signed-hunter-biden-laptop-letter-admits-significant-portion-emails-real

Former Defense Intelligence Agency deputy director and former senior CIA operations officer Douglas Wise said of the emails the New York Post was reporting, "All of us figured that a significant portion of that content had to be real to make any Russian disinformation credible.” He claims it was “no surprise” to him that the emails were genuine, but he still has “no regrets” about signing the letter.

In case your mind is reeling, I’ll try to summarize: He thinks it was his patriotic duty to misinform Americans into electing a compromised President, even though he assumed the damning evidence he disparaged was real, because if the Russians were trying to mislead voters, they’d probably use real emails to do it. Apparently, the only way to prevent voters from being “misinformed” with the truth was to tell them a lie. Got that?

I can see how this guy rose so high in the CIA.

6. Biden has no idea

By Mike Huckabee

Every time President Biden says anything about guns or the Second Amendment, I feel as if I’m listening to a first grader explain how the Dewey Decimal System works. Nothing he says ever makes sense, including his latest quote that he wants to “ban the number of bullets that go in a magazine.” That’s not only not how guns work, it’s not how the English language works.

https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2023/01/16/bidens-mlk-speech-ban-number-bullets-that-go-magazine/

For some reason, Biden thought the MLK Day Breakfast was a good place to start ranting at Republicans over gun control. In his by-now familiar near-approximation of English, he said, "I love my right-wing friends who talk about the tree of liberty is water of the blood of patriots. If you need to work about taking on the federal government, you need some F-15s. You don't need an AR-15."

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/biden-swipe-second-amendment-supporters-you-need-f15-take-on-federal-government

(Incidentally, can you imagine how swiftly the FBI would descend on Trump and accuse him of advocating insurrection if he told people what weapons they needed to overthrow the US government?)

This isn’t the first time Biden has made the odd claim that the only way for the people to stand up to a well-armed government is for them to have fighter jets and nuclear weapons. I wonder if anyone on his staff will ever have the guts to remind him of how he lost Afghanistan to a bunch of cave-dwellers with rifles.

Although, to be fair, they do have a lot more advanced weaponry now. OURS!

Rick Moran at PJ Media has more on this, including some good comments on how Biden fails to understand the First Amendment. Also how he claims you need fighter jets and nukes to overthrow the government, but he also wants us to believe that an unarmed vegan in a buffalo hat nearly did it on January 6th.

https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/rick-moran/2023/01/17/paranoid-biden-worries-that-2a-supporters-only-want-to-overthrow-the-government-n1662413

RE: "California crazy". Simple solution to the problem. When nobody does anything to stop this behavior in showers and locker rooms. Right then and there threaten to terminate your membership and go elsewhere. And if nothing is still not done, go elsewhere!

I remember when there was going to be an anti Jewish march years ago in Illinois, I think. Every one closed up and nobody came. That’s the way to handle boys in the girls locker rooms. Just ignore. Act like they aren’t there. Ladies, it’s just anatomy. Rather funny anatomy at that. Don’t act shocked, and don’t react. I suspect many of these folks who have gender issues have other mental problems. Some may just want to attract attention. Others may truly believe they are the opposite gender, meaning they have mental issues. So either be quietly amused or sad for them. What’s funny is that I’ll bet you won’t ever hear of boys complaining if girls walk through their locker room naked or shower with them. The boys would love it. Girls, there is nothing to be afraid of as long as you aren’t alone. The sight of male parts won’t mar you for life, if fact most of you will live with a man and see a lot of them.

The law can not allow schools to deter excellent scholars because of a race it is against the law to discriminate. Let the people excel and be rewarded for hard work and intelligence. We allow women to come on TV with strip club mentality with dress and dance moves that are sexual in its content let those people excel we allow men in sports with carnival type hairstyles and body markings excel in sporting events for our entertainment why not allow people to be intelligent and become more intelligent than our entertainment sector. Having people find cures for illness, inventions to make life easier and more affordable than watching a sex driven people to illustrate sex or jumping upwards to achieve boundaries over 10 feet or hitting a ball 400 feet with a wooden bat; pay the scientist 200 million dollars to find a cure for mankind diseases and ailments of the brain; the administrators of our schools that didn't allow gifted and hard working students their due should have their assets taken and prosecuted to the full extent of the law I want the most intelligent people in my country to make my country the best it can be and if I need to go to the circus i will buy a ticket if I want to watch sports I will buy a ticket If I want to go to a concert I will buy a ticket; If I want my Heart worked on I want the best surgeon I can get If I fly I want the best pilot to fly me If i invest I want the best financial advisor I do not want a person that is of a group that is only not prepared but can not get prepared to do the job. In other words let the less intelligent learn to dance sexually, hit a ball far, jump higher than most cook a great meal or maybe sing a song or use drugs consistently so the intelligent can find ways to help you when U need help.

    1. As of Nov 2, even Dems expected a red wave and the expectation as McCarthy had promised a look into the FBI, Joe & Hunter, DOJ, etc..
    2. Could be the FBI & DOJ wanted to get 'out in front' of the whole laptop thing. And . . . perhaps they were finally acting on some information from the laptop when Biden's lawyers found the first set of documents. Maybe that's why personal lawyers were searching instead of officials authorized to see classified information.
    3. Perhaps the FBI had notified the White House earlier, like October, and the White House initiated the search for documents using Biden's own lawyers.
I do think the document discovery is linked somehow to information in the laptop.
