Since this is ABC, I don’t know if the moderators will bother to touch on the economy, but in case they don’t, here’s Trump explaining the steps he will take to bring down inflation, repair the economy and “Make America Affordable Again.”
Meanwhile, Harris has offered a few economic proposals that include price controls and massive tax increases, all of which have a proven track record of destroying economies. They’re so bad that even liberal media outlets have grudgingly admitted it.
But it’s no surprise. The media have tried to reinvent Harris (ranked further left than socialist Bernie Sanders when she was in the Senate) as a “moderate” who’s somehow been reborn in the past month and no longer supports anything she previously supported, including defunding the police, decriminalizing illegal immigration, government health care that eliminates private insurance (including for illegal aliens), slavery reparations, banning fracking and even banning plastic straws (but she now supports a border wall.) Does anyone seriously believe that? As I often say, this isn’t an election, it’s an IQ test.
Even Bernie Sanders spilled the beans and admitted that Harris is only saying this stuff to fool the rubes into electing her. Quoth Bernie on Sunday’s “Meet the Press:
“No, I don't think she's abandoning her ideals. I think she's trying to be pragmatic and doing what she thinks is right in order to win the election."
So don’t say you haven’t been warned, America. When you’re given the same warning by both Mike Huckabee and Bernie Sanders, you might want to take it seriously.
RELATED: Unlike most of the pundits giving opinions and advice about the debate, I’ve actually engaged in political debates, including debates on the presidential level against Donald Trump. I wouldn’t presume to give him debate advice, and I have no interest in helping Kamala, so I’ll just say this:
A debate is primarily a job interview. Voters have two job applicants before them, each making their case for why they should be hired. For me, it’s a no-brainer: Trump is a successful businessman with a proven record of success as President (booming economy and job creation, low inflation, secure borders, energy independence, destroyed ISIS, no new wars, etc.) while Harris has been half of the worst Administration of my lifetime (weaponized government, assault on free speech, runaway inflation, housing crisis, open border, rampant crime, wars everywhere, etc.)
But let’s buy for a moment that it’s all Joe Biden’s fault and Harris is an entirely different candidate. Will she govern any differently? Signs are that she will be even further to the left, and even worse. Her economic proposals so far are horrific, her only good ideas are stolen from Trump and transparently insincere, and she’s made it clear that she wants to double down on Internet censorship, a la Brazil. But another important factor is the people she will have around her. Biden appointed the least-qualified, most political Cabinet officers in history, to disastrous results. Will Harris do better?
Not likely, according to Fox Business News. While Trump’s Cabinet and advisers had plenty of private sector experience, Stephen Moore and Jonathan Decker remind us that Harris and Walz are asking us to hire them to run a $7 trillion enterprise (the federal government.) So the Committee to Unleash Prosperity did a study of the top business and financial advisers to Biden and Harris and found that they are shockingly inexperienced.
From Biden, Harris and Walz on down, the majority (about 6 in 10) have little to no business experience: “Most are academics, career government officials, non-profit employees, community organizers or lawyers.” Only one in 10 has 10 or more years of business experience. The average is 3.1 years, and the median years of business experience is “zero.”
This means that if it is true that Kamala Harris once worked at McDonald’s, that would probably give her more private sector business experience than the vast majority of her top economic advisers.
