BIBLE VERSE OF THE DAY

Democrats are not above falsifying "evidence" for their "trial"

By Mike Huckabee

The case brought yesterday by the House impeachment managers was a master class, not in how to present a factual case but how NOT to –- how to avoid the facts and skillfully create a piece of propaganda.

"What I think is really glaring as the House managers wrapped up their case was what was not in that case,” said legal analyst Jonathan Turley to Sean Hannity on Thursday night. “You know, after doing that snap impeachment, there were four weeks where the House did nothing in terms of locking in testimony. There were a dozen people who were around the President who spoke publicly about things he did or said during those critical hours. The House never called any of them as witnesses, never locked in their testimony, never created the record that they failed to create when they did this snap impeachment. And the question is why?”

Instead, Turley pointed out, they quoted NEWS ARTICLES about potential witnesses that they never called, either in the impeachment or the "trial." Very curiously, they chose not to use direct evidence from these witnesses.

He said it was particularly glaring on Wednesday, when the managers repeatedly claimed they had information on Trump’s “state of mind.” That’s not the charge; in the one article of impeachment, Trump is charged with insurrection to violence.

Trump isn’t being charged for being “a lousy person,” Turley said. He was impeached on the charge of trying to incite an actual rebellion. They’ve “dug a very deep hole” that they “didn’t really try” to fill, so why didn’t they bring in their evidence? Even if they wanted to stress Trump’s state of mind, they brought in very little evidence of that.

But we do have a LOT of evidence that the breach of the Capitol Building was planned well in advance. Trump could not have “incited” an “insurrection” unless he got in a time machine and went back to November/December and told them to do it, or unless he was actively plotting with them at the time. There is no evidence of that, or of the time machine, either.

Turley wrote at length about the House managers’ problem with the lack of direct witness testimony and what it says about the credibility of their case. Highly recommended reading.

So, with Trump’s attorneys presenting their defense on Friday, how should they proceed? Turley said the House managers have “opened the door” to examining “reckless rhetoric,” which they should not want, considering all the horrific examples that can be cited from the Democrats. “It may be difficult to distinguish from the accused, the prosecutors and the jury,” Turley said. “We’re living in an age of rage, and people say irresponsible things.” Oddly, the managers have moved away from the impeachment article they drafted to focus on Trump’s language generally, showing a lot of clips of past speeches. And, according to Turley, “they really didn’t prove that case.”

The way to counter that is, of course, to show a long montage of clips of Democrat senators and representatives using violent and threatening language, of which there are many. Some of them are so dark and chilling, so hateful, they go way beyond anything Trump has said. Try to imagine President Trump saying those things --- he wouldn’t.

Turley has said previously that Trump shouldn’t put on a defense at all and just “rest on the constitutional challenge.” Personally, though, I would love to see him “fight” --- there’s that word --- with some fabulous pushback to devastate and humiliate those who put together this sham. They deserve a good slap-down, and, gosh, I apologize for my use of violent rhetoric. Trump’s attorneys should do this quickly, though, in just a few hours, and not allow the left to continue distracting the country with this show trial.

Much has been said about the 13-minute “movie” that the Democrats had produced and showed on the first day of the “trial,” specifically about the emotional effect it seemed to have on its audience. There were reports that the room went utterly silent at the end of it. This was the centerpiece of the propaganda presented at this “trial.” It would never have been permitted in a real trial, as it was deceptively edited to link Trump’s words to violent actions from different times and places; there was no actual link established. Most importantly, producers chose to leave out the key piece of exculpatory evidence –- Trump’s own words, revealing his assumption that the crowd would be going to the Capitol Building “peacefully and patriotically.”

THAT ONE FACT –- that in their manipulative little Hollywood production, they conveniently left out the words “peacefully and patriotically” –- is enough right there to discredit their entire case. At least to my mind it is.

I can sum it up in two words: “falsifying evidence.”

Alan Dershowitz commented that “the President made a statement, a speech, which was so within the parameters of our First Amendment and Brandenburg [Brandenburg v. Ohio, 1968], notwithstanding the fact that 144 scholars have said it would be unethical –- unethical –- to even raise a First Amendment issue...” He went on to rail that these people are trying to intimidate Trump’s attorneys from using the First Amendment to defend him. This, he said, would be “depriving all of America and the Senate of the opportunity to hear how the First Amendment precludes this impeachment.’

David Shoen is “a very good lawyer,” Dershowitz said, adding that he expects that Friday we’ll get a few hours of laser-like focus on the First Amendment. (I would add this that might be extremely instructive to the rest of the country, as everyone could use a good lecture on the First Amendment right now.) He said they should also spend some time on the jurisdictional issue –- the fact that Trump is now a private citizen –- as some senators might acquit more on free speech grounds, others more on jurisdictional grounds. Since only a third of the senators have to vote to acquit, he expects an acquittal.

"The Democrats overplayed their hand [Thursday],” he said. “They went on too long, [they were] too repetitious, they should have rested...” Trump’s lawyers “will do a good job by making it neat and clean and to the point and short.”

Shoen told reporters on Thursday that Democrats have failed to tie Trump to the breach of the Capitol Building. “I think they’re making a movie,” he said. “...And I think it’s offensive. Quite frankly, it’s antithetical [to] to the healing process to continue to show the tragedy that happened here that Donald Trump has condemned, and I think it tears at the American people, quite frankly.”

It sure does. And to the Democrats, tearing at us is an extra benefit of this sideshow. It’s just one more way to go after Trump supporters, one more way to make us feel crushed and defeated. But it will backfire, because we’re smarter than that, we can see through them, and we can spot all the fakery and the strings being pulled.

Rock Hall of Shame News

By Pat Reeder, "Huckabee" Pop culture guru

The “Rock and Roll Hall of Fame” is such a joke, it’s hardly even worth talking about anymore. But they released their list of 2021 nominees yesterday, and it contains the usual mix of deserving, on the fence, much too recent, and not even rock at all. They are: (deserving) Carole King, Devo, The Go-Go's, Iron Maiden, Todd Rundgren, (on the fence) Tina Turner, Kate Bush, New York Dolls, (too recent) Foo Fighters, Rage Against the Machine, and (not rock at all) Mary J. Blige, Chaka Khan, Fela Kuti, LL Cool J, Dionne Warwick and Jay-Z.

Who is picking these nominees? I love Dionne Warwick, but if she belongs in the “Rock Hall of Fame,” why not Perry Como and Englebert Humperdinck? And I’m sorry, but rap is not rock. There’s a popular false claim on the Internet, where ignoramuses are given the same megaphone as people who know what they’re talking about, that saying rap isn’t rock means you’re racist. No, it means you’re capable of discerning one musical genre from another. It’s no more racist than saying James Brown, for all his greatness, doesn’t belong in the Bluegrass Hall of Fame, or that Beethoven is not be-bop.

Meanwhile, to prove the laughable uselessness of the “Rock and Roll” “Hall of Fame, here are just a few of the performers who are still not in it, many of whom have never even been nominated. Prepare for your jaw to hit the floor:

Ted Nugent; Dick Dale; Herman’s Hermits; Blue Oyster Cult; The Guess Who; King Crimson; Thin Lizzy; Robin Trower; Emerson Lake & Palmer; Paul Revere and the Raiders; Styx; Eurthymics; Tommy James and the Shondells; Boston; Steppenwolf (creators of the ultimate rock anthem, “Born to Be Wild”); Judas Priest; America; The Grass Roots; Jan and Dean; Motorhead; Neil Sedaka; Badfinger; the MC5; Grand Funk Railroad; Slade; Joe Walsh; Three Dog Night; Warren Zevon; Link Wray; Meat Loaf; Blood, Sweat and Tears; Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers; J. Geils Band; Bad Company; neither Johnny nor Edgar Winter; Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels; Peter Frampton, Johnny Burnette; Ten Years After; Pat Benatar; Johnny Rivers; The B-52s; The Jam (even though Green Day, who stole their entire act from the Jam, are in it); and three of my favorite bands, Mott the Hoople, the Monkees, and (I think the most outrageous snub of all time) Jethro Tull.

That’s right: Tupac Shakur, Linda Ronstadt, NWA, Public Enemy and ABBA are all in the “Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,” but Jethro Tull – one of the greatest, most innovative bands in rock history, with a career stretching over 50 years and more than 20 albums, including classics such as “Stand Up,” “Benefit,” “Aqualung,” “Thick As A Brick,” “War Child” and “Songs From The Wood;” and whose leader Ian Anderson continues to make brilliant solo albums like “The Secret Language of Birds” – is not. But they think Jay-Z deserves to go into the “Rock” Hall of Fame ahead of Jethro Tulll? Morons.

Then again, what can you say about an institution that supposedly honors rock music yet took 30 years to induct Deep Purple, when half the actual rock guitarists in the place learned to play by copying the riff from “Smoke on the Water?” By that time, they’d already inducted Madonna, Run-DMC, Whitney Houston and the Beastie Boys. What has their induction committee been smoking?

Hollywood News

By Mike Huckabee

The conservative showbiz news site Hollywood In Toto reports that Hollywood sold its soul to cater to the Chinese market, but now, the Chinese audience prefers Chinese films to American films (maybe they find today’s American films to be too pro-communist.) Not one American movie made China’s 2020 box office top 10. The highest was “Tenet” at #11.

Hollywood has driven away its old Middle American audience to chase a Chinese market that’s no longer interested. Who will the poor limousine leftists pander to for ticket sales now?

I expect a lot of remakes of Cold War movies, only with the Russians as the heroes.

Updated Guidelines

By Mike Huckabee

The CDC on Wednesday updated its mask guidelines to say that to be effective in avoiding the coronavirus, you should wear two masks at once: a disposable mask with a cloth mask.

Personally, I plan to just go around wearing scuba gear for the rest of my life.

Twitter's Ban Is Permanent

By Mike Huckabee

Twitter announced that its ban on former President Trump is permanent, even if he is reelected to the White House. Of course, he would then have access to the official White House account, so that point is moot. Still, that couldn’t happen until 2024 at the earliest, and let’s all hope that by then, the response to any announcement from Twitter will be, “Twitter? What’s that?”

China Is Building A Time Machine

By Mike Huckabee

Considering how honest and open China has been about how it’s dealt with the coronavirus and other issues, I can only assume from their adamant denials that they’re building a time machine that China is, indeed, building a time machine. Probably with technology they stole from DeLorean.

My view of President Donald Trump's agenda was that he was giving police and armed forces the tools to keep streets and borders safe so the individual would only feel the need for guns for hunting animals and competitive shooting and not survival on city streets

I signed up for twitter years ago but have never used it despite constant reminders to my email. I'd say we can ALL get along without twitter. Even with the ultra left media going full blast, we, middle America can see the truth - mostly. And the more the media has attacked Trump, the more we see the truth. So, dang, who needs twitter. I know Trump has used it all this time to counter the fake news, but we know better by now, and we can do without it.

No one ever said we elected bright people to office. I happened to catch a little bit of one of the house mangers diatribes. She said if we don’t impeach Trump the rioters will be emboldened.

    1. He’s already been impeached, sweetie. Try getting your definitions correct at least. The subject is conviction.
    2. When did we start convicting for the influence someone might have on actions in the future, short of actually inciting to do something at the time of the event, as in I order you to kill x, or get in there and rob that bank, or even, I want my supporters to go the.Capitol and break in in any way you can, see people die, break windows, desecrate, and do particularly go after AOC in that other building.

Speaking of that, women, listen up. Obviously AOC lied about being threatened for effect. Do we want weak, scared little girls in .Congress or strong women who don’t have to resort to that sort of attention getting tactic. Respect for women just went down a notch. I did not see a capable Congresswoman, but a crying scared little girl who apparently has never known real tragedy, threats or want. I’m sure she must have touched up her makeup before she came out of the bathroom. Meow!

Within the Democrats’/ liberals’ arsenal, aimed incessantly and firing at conservatives and Trump voters, is hate language , censorship, canceling us, lies, intimidation, resulting in ultimate control, and more of the same. They are “shutting us down”by keeping us isolated from each other (masks, no group gatherings, no social media). Their mantra is to keep us from being able to turn and use their own tactics against them. For example, if we disagree with them we get arrested or scrubbed from Twitter, Facebook.etc. We can’t use our bank without our privacy being invaded. We are called terrible names. They know that if we could become one united, forceful movement, we could turn the tables on them. I’m concerned they are trying to push us to point where something serious will happen while expressing, “Enough is enough!” If that happens, the Dems/radicals will get their wish—an excuse to exercise martial law and take away our first and second amendment rights.I’m praying this never happens!

I do not own a smartphone and still use a much more inexpensive landline. I have know little to nothing about Facebook, Twitter or whatever is called social media (although I do have a laptop and iPad).
Be that as it may, I see no use for Facebook, Twitter, etc.
The huddled and oppressed masses of U.S. citizens should remember that they still have powers as consumers. If the quit buying iPhones and Nike shoes made in China by forced labor, if they stopped using Facebook and Twitter, and they stopped shopping on Amazon (I know, what sacrifice), then the tech oligarchy and its global network would collapse in 24 hours.
    Simple.
Giving up smartphones that waste enormous time and money and spread disinformation should be obviously preferable to giving up personal human rights and freedoms.
Yet we sit and do nothing when in fact we could effect change quickly with little cost.

    Governor Huckabee!
These folks are NOT 'above' the 'law', the 'rule of law' of the land, period! I do NOT know why everyone 'pretends' they are! If anything, they are to 'represent' being 'even more than the law appropriate' in 'being sure to be 'within or beyond without cause' OF the 'rule of law' and 'Constitution' in ALL areas of the 'rule of law and Constitution'!
THEY ARE A DISGRACE AND THE REPUBLICANS AND ANYONE IN CONGRESS 'NOT' 'CONTRIBUTING' THE 'LEANING INTO IN AN OFFENSIVE ATTACK' 'AGAINST THIS TYRANNY OF OUR CONSTITUTION'!
There must be an 'address' of this 'within' their 'constituents' and a stop to this 'trying to be a 'marxist/communist/socialist/dictatorial' President/Vice President and 'any' in Congress (House or Senate or Congress in general) NOW!
SURELY 'YOU' AND OTHERS IN A PLACE OF 'CONSTITUTIONAL KNOWLEDGE AND LAW' CAN 'COME TOGETHER' AND GET THIS 'RIGHT' FOR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, 'ALL LEGAL CITIZENS' MUST COME BEFORE ANY OTHER COUNTRY OR INFLUENCE THEREOF AND IT MUST BEGIN WITH 'YOU' AND THOSE WHO ARE OF THIS POSITION THAT WERE 'VOTED' IN (AT ONE TIME OR CURRENTLY) BY THE PEOPLE TO 'REPRESENT' AND BE 'SERVANT/STEWARD' FOR THE PEOPLE, COME TOGETHER, AND 'FIGHT BACK WITH A FIERCE OFFENSIVE PLAN' 'NOW' BEFORE THERE IS A 'CIVIL WAR' THAT ALL WILL REGRET, THIS IS 'NOT' THE PLACE WE IN OUR COUNTRY WANT TO GO!
Kindest regards & hopeful prayer for your service in this matter!

I didn't watch the "trial". But I am thinking that if the Dems mentioned election fraud, then they open the door for Trump's defense to have a national stage to present evidence of fraud to the American people on national TV.

Masks are a way of control. I am out of control. The recovery rate for people under 50 yr is 99.997% The recovery for old fogies like me over 70 yr is 95%. After Dr Falsy said we may need to wear 2 mask, I went to the dollar store and bought me one to cover my eyes & also have a TRUMP mask to cover my mouth. Only wear masks on certain occasions, like when I may smell some donkey flatuance.

On the impeachment I would like to get your comments on the following 1) If you believe in the rule of law, the constitutionality of former President Trump HAS been decided. It IS constitutional by vote of the Senate. 2) Why did President Trump wait for over 2 hrs without providing a call for any assistance to the small police forces at the Capitol? 3) what evidence do you have that the ‘Big Lie’ was the truth?

I am little surprised you haven’t written about the nursing home covid number cover-up in New York. https://nypost.com/2021/02/12/cuomo-aides-admission-on-nursing-home-coverup-sparks-calls-for-probe/ This is extremely upsetting to me as I lost my mother in January to covid after she got it from her nursing home. The part that they apologized for the “difficult political position it puts them in” but no apologies to the family and friends of all of the loved ones they lost.
