BIBLE VERSE OF THE DAY

Deep State update: Ratcliffe "expects" indictments

By Mike Huckabee

Former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe told Trey Gowdy on FOX NEWS Tuesday night that, based on intelligence that he has seen, he expected “additional actions taken by John Durham,” as he’s convinced that there were more incidents like the action of Kevin Clinesmith regarding the 2016 campaign. He noted that allegations of FISA abuse turned out to be true.

But I imagine his words generated a collective yawn among people who have been waiting years for accountability. Recall that Clinesmith pleaded guilty to fraudulently doctoring an official document but was recently sentenced to one year’s probation, community service and a $100 fine, essentially a slap on the wrist for committing a huge fraud that dragged Carter Page and the whole country through the “Russia Russia Russia” scam for years. It was a FISA COURT JUDGE who, inexplicably, presided over the case and, even more inexplicably, decided to let it go.

Now, Durham has reportedly moved on from the CIA without charging anyone --- John Brennan's MSNBC contract is safe --- and has moved his focus to the FBI. Sources have told FOX NEWS that high-ranking officials such as former FBI Director James Comey will not be charged. But Ratcliffe, putting the most positive spin on this that anyone could, said he doubts that such reports are accurate.

"Without betraying any confidences," Ratcliffe said, "I can tell you I sat in a room last July with John Durham and with Attorney General Barr; we looked at intelligence, and we all unanimously agreed that there was a problem there with respect to the FBI, that there wasn’t a proper predicate to begin, much less continue, a counterintelligence investigation against the Trump campaign. So I’d be surprised if this reporting is accurate, that there aren’t going to be additional indictments. I would expect that. I think the intelligence that I’ve seen reflects that, and I certainly think that, you know, once the investigation runs its course, that that’s what will take place.”

Ratcliffe said he wanted to see more instances of accountability, not because he wants to see “folks go to prison” but because he wants people to have trust in the FBI and the Department of Justice and “increasingly, they don’t.” But that's largely because folks like Kevin Clinesmith HAVEN'T gone to prison.

"The American people have seen the text messages and the emails, and the memos and the transcripts, and the FISA applications, and they know this just isn’t right," said Ratcliffe. "And...they see that this just wasn’t fair, and if the FBI and the Department of Justice can’t hold folks accountable for that, then we’re gonna have a problem down the road.”

No kidding.

It’s hard enough to have accountability when information has been released to the public, as in the case above, but what about when everything has been locked down? We’re going to step with one tiny toe into the case of Seth Rich, as his murder has been cloaked with secrecy and threats of lawsuits ever since it happened at 4:19AM on July 10, 2016. What is the story surrounding his death? We honestly don’t know, but a judge has given the FBI 82 days to produce all material in its possession that contains the name “Seth Rich.” Deadline: April 21. The attorney who pushed for this: Ty Clevenger. Here's a refresher.

And now, the update.

"I know there is enormous distrust and frustration over almost the utter failure of the Department of Justice and the Courts to play fair and do the right thing,” writes Larry Johnson at THE GATEWAY PUNDIT. But at least this judge is not playing along with the Deep State.”

Recall that Seth Rich, a DNC staffer who was shot and killed on a Washington DC street in what was said to be a robbery (in which nothing was taken), is alleged to have been involved with the hack/leak of the DNC server. Apparently, FBI counterintelligence people have been involved in an investigation, which strongly suggests that this was not a conventional robbery/murder.

The lid was slammed down long ago on anyone even talking about this. No one is supposed to even bring it up, but I will –- though, again, I do not know if Rich was involved in removing information from the DNC server, and I do not know the circumstances surrounding his death other than what was said in the police report. I just would LIKE to know. I’m glad to see that the FBI won’t be able to let this drop.

The FBI reportedly have over 20,000 pages of documents related to Seth Rich, as well as his laptop. For three years previously, they had apparently denied involvement in any investigation of Rich’s death or being in possession of his laptop. It was probably hidden away with with Hunter Biden’s laptop till President Trump’s first impeachment was over, haha.

Finally, don’t let this note of encouragement blind you to something less impressive that’s happening at the DOJ. Just a month before his father was inaugurated President of the United States, Hunter Biden hired a new attorney, former federal prosecutor Chris Clark, to assist with his federal criminal defense. Hunter is reportedly under investigation for tax evasion and money laundering allegations, with a “potential counterintelligence component,” according to AXIOS.

But here’s the real story: On Inauguration Day, one of Clark’s close colleagues, Nicholas McQuaid, a fellow partner at Latham & Watkins, was asked to temporarily lead the DOJ’s criminal division. McQuaid is one of a handful of acting assistant attorneys general appointed by President Biden on his very first day.

Does anything about this seem not quite kosher to you? Biden quickly appoints someone to head the DOJ’s criminal division who was a business partner of the attorney now representing his own son, who is under investigation? Under Biden, there’s supposedly an “ethics pledge” that bars federal officials from participating in matters involving former employers unless they receive “a waiver of relevant laws and regulations.” Well, that’s isn't that reassuring?

"Potential conflict between lawyers entering government and their former clients or firms are quite common,” said Kedric Payne, senior director for ethics at the Campaign Legal Center. “This situation is one of the many initial tests of Biden’s ethics pledge, which looks great on paper, but time will tell if it’s effective in practice. Enforcement is essential.”

Now we can all wonder if Biden’s ethics pledge will be enforced when it comes to the investigation of his son. The suspense is killing me.

President Trump just picked up another nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize

By Mike Huckabee

Former President Trump just picked up another nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize, this time from an Estonian member of the European Parliament. He said, “Donald Trump is the first president of the United States in the last 30 years whose office the country has not started any war. In addition, several peace agreements have been made under his leadership in the Middle East, which has helped ensure stability in the region and peace.” One of Trump's previous nominations came from a member of the Norwegian Parliament, who said, “I think he has done more trying to create peace between nations than most other Peace Prize nominees.”

While that is undoubtedly true, if you think that the Nobel Peace Prize is given out to the person who’s done the most to create peace, then you haven’t been paying much attention in recent years. Like so many things that used to mean something, it’s degenerated into a way for leftists to signal their virtue to the world (they've given them to noted terrorist Yasser Arafat, Al Gore for making an environmentalist horror movie, and Barack Obama, apparently for being born.)

So while it’s an honor to have so many people think he deserves a nomination, I’m sure Trump harbors no illusions that he will actually win it. Even a nomination doesn’t carry much gravitas these days. Look who else just got nominations (and you probably shouldn’t read these while drinking coffee or you might spew it all over your keyboard.)

To quote Clint Eastwood from “Unforgiven,” “’Deserve’s” got nothin’ to do with it.”

Interesting Story

By Mike Huckabee

Interesting story about pop singer Halsey, who is a big abortion defender and Planned Parenthood supporter, but now that she’s pregnant herself, talks about her unborn child as if it’s an actual human being.

This really isn’t surprising since it’s always easier to deny the reality of what’s happening when a child is in the womb when it’s just an abstract concept and not your child. But again, it’s another example of my prediction that Joe Biden’s biggest enemy wouldn’t be Republicans but reality. So much of what liberals believe is based on self-delusion and believing their own propaganda that they’re always stunned when they try practicing it for real and it inevitably fails miserably.

Even Hollywood realizes the yawning gap between reality and their own pro-abortion political stances. From their off-screen politics, you’d think they really believe that a baby in the womb is just an inert clump of cells, right up until the moment of birth. But how many movies and TV shows do you see where a woman becomes pregnant and goes to have an abortion? Even Madonna, who fantasized about blowing up the White House when Trump was elected, recorded the song “Papa Don’t Preach” that included the pro-life lyric, “I’ve made up my mind that I’m keeping my baby.”

Celebrities say what they think they’re supposed to say to keep their leftist cred, but when they’re absolutely forced to, even they’re capable of recognizing reality.

Funny Video

By Mike Huckabee

Podcaster, mom of six and stand-up comic Jen Fulwiler presents a heartfelt plea to give until it hurts to help the poor hedge fund managers.

By the way, in case you’re still fuzzy on the whole “Reddit guys taking down hedge funds” “crisis” that Wall Street is panicking over (“Normals are using the same tactics we used against them, only against us! That’s not supposed to happen!”), here’s a good, clear explanation of it from Tucker Carlson:

Bonus points: he also notes how much money Wall Streeters proudly squander on their “art collections” that will be recognized within a generation as ugly, overpriced garbage.

President Trump's impeachment defense

By Mike Huckabee

One reason why we think our little newsletter is valuable in this media-saturated age is that unlike most of today’s “news” sources, we still follow certain rules, like “Read the original source of the story in full and find out what really happened” and “Present the facts clearly, accurately, calmly and with a touch of humor.” To use a farm term that most of the big city media elites have probably never heard (but that they perfectly exemplify), we don’t go running around like chickens with our heads cut off.

A great example of that came last week with all the hysterical stories about ex-President Trump losing or firing his impeachment defense legal team. OMG! He has no defense! Or nobody would defend him! Or he’d gone crazy and was going to defend himself! This is it, at last we have that wascally Trump! He’ll never escape impeachment now!

Well, as we reported, he simply hired another legal team, and a darn good one (he has billions of dollars, and I’ll let you in on a secret I’ve learned from years in politics and business: lawyers like money.) Last night, that legal team already released its planned defense, and it efficiently guts the laughable impeachment case against him.

At that link, Tyler O’Neil of PJ Media lays out the defense, which is divided into eight sections. The attorneys make the case that the entire process is unconstitutional because the Senate can’t impeach a former President who is already a private citizen; the House impeachment vote was conducted without a trial or due process; Trump is innocent of the charge he was impeached for and the evidence proves it (he never called for violence, and the Capitol riot was being planned before he made the speech blamed for its incitement); an impeachment trial presided over by a Democrat Senator who’s already voted to impeach Trump once and publicly supported his impeachment is illegitimate because he’s a known partisan acting as both judge and juror; etc. etc.

Of course, what the Democrats really want to do is disqualify Trump from ever holding office again, which should show you that they know just how unpopular their agenda is.

But they have no constitutional power to determine who gets to be President. Many legal scholars argue that their power to disqualify people from future office extends only to appointed offices, and they don’t get veto power over whom the people wish to choose to head a completely separate branch of government. Besides, it’s highly unlikely they’ll reach a two-thirds conviction vote anyway, since 45 Republicans are already on record as voting that the whole process is unconstitutional.

Trump’s attorneys have laid out the kind of defense that might cause any prosecutor who was a mature, intelligent adult to drop the charges. But we’re not dealing with mature, intelligent adults, we’re dealing with the Congressional Democrat leadership. So the circus will pitch its tent next week.

If the Democrats try to call witnesses and put on a big anti-Trump circus, Sen. Lindsay Graham is warning that Republicans will give it an extended engagement with extra clowns, trying up the Senate for weeks if not months, and calling witnesses that the Democrats really don’t want the public to hear from. They could include the alleged Capitol riot planner who’s known for showing up in public in facepaint and a horned Viking helmet.

That should make anyone watching it on TV realize just how deeply unserious the Senate Democrats and this whole impeachment sham are. Or maybe they’ll just see a loon ranting incoherently on the Senate floor and assume it’s a typical day on CSPAN.

I hope they do call witnesses. It’s about time we get the facts out there for everyone to hear. Let the truth come forward, then we can put all this nonsense behind us.

We all have lost faith in the system. FBI and CIA used to be feared agencies that were respected and trusted by Americans and the world. Now they are viewed on as puppets of the deep state. With COVID death rates less than 99% here we are all huddled up in fear with our kid so depressed that they are committing suicide at alarming rates. Tucker and the bunch say “stand up”. Where? Go out in the yard and scream? Our voice has no platform anymore. Our elected officials are worried more about their careers more than me. The people need positive direction and hope. Please send me some I’m running low.

Senator Graham said "If you open that can of worms, we’ll want the FBI to come in and tell us about how people pre-planned this attack and what happened with the security footprint at the Capitol," My reply to him would be: "With 'all due respect', Senator, that's EXACTLY WHAT SOME OF WANT!!. We WANT testimony to the timeline(s). We WANT the American people to finally SEE evidence of vote fraud. We WANT the whole damn mess between 11/3/20 and 1/6/21 laid out in all its democrat/media shame. Having the people just see "republican obstructionists" vote to dismiss the impeachment and move on with the cloud over Trump is exactly what WE DON'T want." So much of the public has seen nothing but the msm version of events since 11/3. They see "voter fraud cases being thrown out by the courts for lack of evidence" and don't understand that those cases didn't make it far enough for evidence to be presented. They have no idea what that evidence even is. They have no idea that some of those "insurgents" planned their actions as far back as November. They refuse to believe that some leftists were in there "egging on" Trump supporters. If the Senate simply votes to dismiss the article on day 1, all the public will take from it is that "obstructionist republicans" protected the "guilty orange man" in a totally politically-motivated miscarriage of "justice". They'll believe "trump skated but had to leave politics in disgrace". They haven't and probably never will read your newsletter and get some exposure to the truth. The coverage an full-on trial would get could change some minds and cause others to question what they've been fed for the last 3 months. I say "BRING IT ON!!!"

Two tier justice system. I am an ordinary citizen who used to think that our system was basically honest. Not now. I would believe the citizen before I would believe a judge, FBI, or policeman. I do not like what is happening with the BLM, Antifa violence but I no longer believe that the FBI and CIA are only corrupt at the top. It is rampant in their organizations. So happy God is ultimately in control but it is so sad to see our country support the devil instead of God in whom we were founded on.

The post presidency impeachment is all about denying the electorate its right to choose its president. It is the ultimate voter disenfranchisement notwithstanding the likely irregularities/disenfranchisement of the last election which have yet to be disproven despite apparatchiks' incessant claims to the contrary. Jonathan Bernstein of Bloomberg Opinion makes the case that he believes (or claims to believe) that congress can impeach an ex president. He facetiously claims that congress could conceivably impeach George Bush if it didn't like his post-presidency art work. Of course the argument is all about eliminating Donald Trump as a contender in the 2024 election.
If you want to read it for yourself here it is:

Gregg Jarrett in a recent opinion piece also disposed of the Democratic impeachment quite effectively, but while doing so could not keep from criticizing Trump for his speech comments, specifically the "unfounded" idea that Congress could do anything regarding the election. While I'm no legal scholar, Gregg would apparently have us believe that the DOJ, Congress, or the courts up to and including the Supreme Court, are powerless to intervene in the face of a corrupt election. In a democracy, can that possibly be right? What does that say about every future election? Just because the "establishment" would not pursue any evidences of election corruption does not prove that it did not happen. Again, only Trump has had the conviction to call this out, even his "supporters" have done all they could to "hedge their position".
