DAILY BIBLE VERSE

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.

Hebrews 13:8

The Longest Day of the Year

Happy Summer Solstice! Today is called the longest day of the year because it’s the day when there is the longest period of daylight and the shortest nighttime. It’s interesting that it also falls during Pride Month, which already feels like the longest month of the year, and it’s only three-fourths over.

I hate to spoil your Solstice celebrations, but I have to inform you that the human race is doomed. As of today, there is officially nothing we can do to prevent the global climate genocide. I know this because the world’s leading expert on climate science, Greta Thunberg, wrote a tweet reading: “A top climate scientist is warning that climate change will wipe out all of humanity unless we stop using fossil fuels over the next five years.”

That tweet was sent on June 21, 2018…exactly five years ago today. And we’re still using fossil fuels.

https://instapundit.com/590911/

Greta tried to warn us, but now it’s too late. So long, humanity. It’s been good to know you…

The search continues

At this writing, the search continues for the missing tourist sub that disappeared on a trip to the wreckage of the Titanic with five people on board. It’s estimated that they have less than 24 hours’ worth of air left. I hope you will keep them in your prayers and that they will be rescued. Fox News has a page with live updates on the search here:

https://www.foxnews.com/live-news/missing-oceangate-titanic-tourist-submarine-search-is-underway

To give you an idea of how dangerous that sub trip is, and that the passengers knew the risks, here’s an article about someone who took it previously. He says they make you sign a long waiver that has the word “death” three times on page one.

https://nypost.com/2023/06/20/i-was-titanic-sub-passenger-waiver-said-death-three-times/

The most shocking undercover video expose yet

Much of the media will probably ignore this story (“Nothing to see here, oh look, TRUMP!”), but James O’Keefe’s OMG (O’Keefe Media Group) has its most shocking undercover video expose yet.

https://redstate.com/bobhoge/2023/06/21/james-okeefe-captures-blackrock-recruiter-saying-they-run-the-world-and-war-in-ukraine-is-good-for-business-n764692

It allegedly shows Serge Varlay, a recruiter for the giant investment firm Blackrock, explaining how they “decide people’s fates.” He says Blackrock doesn’t want to be on the news or on anyone’s radar because “it’s easier to do things when people aren’t thinking about it.” And what are they doing behind the curtain?

He claims that hedge funds, big banks and Blackrock (which controls assets of $20 trillion) “run the world.” He said they have the campaign financing system in place and they buy the candidates. He claims senators are “(Bleeping) cheap. You got ten grand? You can buy a senator.” He said it’s not who the President is, it’s who’s controlling the President’s wallet (sound familiar? This is why I liked having a rich businessman President who financed his own campaign.)

He also talks about how firms like Blackrock control governments and corporations, and in a stunningly cynical comment, describes how war is good for them. For example, if Russia destroys wheat silos in Ukraine, the cost of bread goes up and “this is fantastic if you’re trading. Volatility creates opportunity to make a profit. War is real (Bleeping) good for business.”

This is a must-watch, if you thought your opinion of your fellow man (or of Blackrock) couldn’t possibly get any lower.

Two of Biden’s favorite topics

If there are two things Joe Biden likes to talk about even more than ice cream, it’s racism and gun control laws. He’s always going on about how the former is everywhere, but there’s just not enough of the latter. And he and other Democrats will bend your ear for hours about the “systemically racist” justice system and the racial inequity of sentencing.

Yeah, funny they should mention that, because they just gave us the most glaring example in history, when a well-connected white dude named Biden pleaded guilty to deliberately failing to pay his income taxes (twice) and lying on a background check about not being a drug addict so he could obtain a gun. For that, he got a tap on the wrist, a pat on the head and no jail time. But what if he’d been black and not named Biden? How would that have gone down?

No need to wonder because we know.  Bradford Cohen, the attorney for Grammy-nominated black rapper Kodak Black, said his client was accused of the same thing (giving an incorrect Social Security number on a background check form to obtain a gun even though he had a criminal record), and he was sentenced to 46 months in federal prison. Ironically, he got out a bit early when he was pardoned by that eeeeevil raaaacist, President Trump.

https://www.westernjournal.com/hunters-white-privilege-atty-black-rapper-livid-client-spent-years-jail-biden/

Cohen said in 26 years of practicing law, he’s never seen a tax evasion and illegal weapons case that didn’t come with a prison sentence. He also quoted a federal prosecutor who has prosecuted hundreds of similar cases and says pre-trial diversion on those charges is “unheard of. It NEVER happens.”

Now, imagine if a black drug addict lied on a background check to illegally obtain a gun, then it later ended up in a trash can where anyone might have found it and used it to commit murder (fortunately, it was found by someone looking for recyclables, who turned it in to authorities.) Here’s how maturely Hunter handled that situation.

https://nypost.com/2022/06/15/hunter-biden-raged-at-hallie-after-she-trashed-his-gun-report/

As Kodak Black proved, being famous doesn’t insulate you. You could also ask Wesley Snipes, the black actor who was fined $5 million and sentenced to three years in prison in 2008 for failing to pay his taxes. USA Today noted that many conservatives are bringing up Snipes. They tried to turn it into a “Republicans pounce” story, but I notice that the writer couldn’t even come up with a feeble excuse for why there’s any difference between the cases other than Snipes is black and not named “Biden.”

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2023/06/20/wesley-snipes-taxes-jail-hunter-biden/70338937007/

I can also imagine how much ice it would cut with a judge if a black defendant tried the sympathy excuse that he was a drunk or a drug addict to get off. But that’s what some Democrats are trying with Hunter.

https://www.westernjournal.com/former-dem-senator-goes-tv-breaks-defending-hunter-biden-back-off/

So can we all agree that the next time Joe Biden tries to lecture us about how we need more background checks for gun purchases and stricter enforcement, the appropriate response will be to laugh in his face?

Major Blow

Yesterday, I wrote about the shameful pandering and kowtowing to China that this Administration is displaying, but at that time, I didn’t even have the worst example of it. To put the cherry on top of this manure sundae, Secretary of State Antony Blinken sucked up to China by stabbing our longtime ally Taiwan in the back, declaring, “We do not support Taiwan independence. We remain opposed to any unilateral changes to the status quo by either side.”

https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/catherinesalgado/2023/06/19/blinken-panders-to-murderous-ccp-promises-no-u-s-support-for-taiwan-independence-n1704569

Here’s a news flash that you’d think the US Secretary of State would have already heard: the “status quo” is that Taiwan is an independent nation. It has been for decades now. Try to keep up.

A federal judge in Texas issued a major blow to President Biden’s attempt to inject “diversity, equity and inclusion” (i.e., race-based hiring) into the federal bureaucracy. He ruled that Biden’s Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) is unconstitutional as structured because it is designed to aid only certain preferred ethnic groups and not whites or even non-white ethnic groups that aren’t in the preferred circle. The judge reminded Biden that "the Constitution demands equal treatment under law." Maybe Trump should remind him of that, too.

https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/federal-court-delivers-major-blow-bidens-radical-equity-agenda

Protect us, please

We all know how much the Biden Administration cares about “science” and protecting us all from “dangerous misinformation.” So I assume they will side with the group Protect the People’s Trust (PPT), which filed a complaint with the State Department and the White House about “climate czar” John Kerry’s alarmist and scientifically-unsupported claims about climate change. They include his recent claim that 15 million people are killed every year due to greenhouse gas emissions, a claim for which there is no scientific evidence.

https://hotair.com/karen-townsend/2023/06/20/watchdog-group-slaps-john-kerry-with-complaint-for-wildly-exaggerated-claims-n559320

PPT’s director said, “There are few more perilous breaches of scientific integrity than for public officials to convey inaccurate data to the public knowingly or recklessly, especially when it is done to justify politically motivated decisions or agendas. Simply put, hysteria, hyperbole, and misrepresentation of data have no place in our government’s official pronouncements. The American public’s trust in its government has plunged to depths never before seen and is unlikely ever to recover if we have powerful officials throwing out numbers unsupported by evidence.”

I couldn’t agree more, and neither could the 20 million people who are killed every year by the fumes emitted from private jets carrying John Kerry to climate change conferences.

Who cares more?

Nobody “cares” more about racism than liberal Democrats. Of course, there’s no place worse for black people to live than states or cities run by liberal Democrats, but that’s a small price to pay for knowing that the people who are making your life so miserable truly care about you. That’s something that black residents of deep-blue Illinois need to tell themselves as they read this story about Illinois ranking 50th in economic racial equality in a study by WalletHub.com.

https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2023/06/20/deep-blue-illinois-ranks-dead-last-on-economic-racial-equality/

Factors in the study included unemployment rates, percentages of management positions held by blacks, and average personal wealth. Illinois edged out several other blue states for the dubious honor.

https://wallethub.com/edu/state-economies-with-most-racial-equality/75810

The red state of Alaska ranked #1 in economic racial equality, and the two states Democrats love to attack most, Florida and Texas, ranked 11th and 12th respectively. Uber-liberal California ranked 27th, and New York was 40th.

The good news for Illinois: 50th wasn’t dead last. Washington, DC, came in 51st, but didn’t technically count since it’s not a state. But it really wants to be one, and now we know what kind of state it would be.

Here’s my appearance on Chris Salcedo’s show on Newsmax, talking about Hunter Biden’s sweetheart deal.

Just a reminder, one month ago, President Biden said this about his son Hunter:

“First of all, my son has done nothing wrong. I trust him. I have faith in him. It impacts my presidency by making me feel proud of him.”

https://ijr.com/biden-hunter-month-agreed-plead-guilty-federal-charges/

The fact that a corrupt system under his dad is letting him get away with his crimes does not negate the fact that he just pled guilty to three of them. Now, some might say this throws Joe Biden’s judgement into question. You might say it was just a father supporting his prodigal son, but that’s being charitable. Or you could say maybe that he just didn’t know Hunter was guilty because he’s never discussed any of his business deals with him, but that’s being gullible.

Who saw this coming?

The FBI is still arresting people for allegedly being part of the January 6th Capitol riot, and the latest is an L.A. comedian who’s one of the voice actors on the Fox animated series, “Bob’s Burgers.” Personally, I think they need to investigate that Bart Simpson kid. You know he’s going to grow up to be another Hunter Biden.

Positive Sign For Hollywood?

With Disney-owned Pixar’s “Elemental” laying a dinosaur-sized egg at the box office and becoming the latest “woke” Disney product to be rejected by audiences (they trumpeted it as having Pixar’s first “gender fluid” character, who appeared in one scene that could be easily edited out for China and the Middle East), could this signal that Disney is finally getting the message of “Get woke, go broke”?

https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/business/business-news/disney-chief-diversity-officer-latondra-newton-exit-1235520318/

Disney has been slashing jobs by the thousands to save money, but nobody imagined they’d dare ax Latondra Newton, their black female “chief diversity officer.” To be accurate, Disney claims she left “to pursue other endeavors,” but the fact that she left so suddenly, and the corporation is making the statement, not her, is raising suspicions.  Newton presided over Disney’s DEI initiatives and was reportedly instrumental in the push for Disney to support “wokeness” and take political stances.

Disney claims that “a search for a new chief of diversity, inclusion and equity efforts is set to begin.” Say, here’s a better idea: How about if instead, you scrap that position and tell the HR department to hire people based on their talent, experience and abilities, with no regard at all for their skin color, gender or who or what they sleep with? It’s a crazy idea, but it just might work!

POLITICAL PRIVILEGE: Bidens popping champagne corks

Make no mistake:  This isn’t about Hunter.  This is about The Big Guy.

Attorney General Merrick Garland and his second-in-command Lisa Monaco, the power behind the throne at the DOJ who is almost certainly “handling” both the Biden and Trump investigations, don’t care about Hunter Biden’s legal travails.  We all know that if his last name were anything else, and if his sources of income weren’t tied to Biden family international influence peddling, he’d be locked inside a prison cell right now.

Back in August of last year, when the magnitude of the pay-for-play scandal had finally reached the point where the media (reluctantly) had to cover it, we discussed Jonathan Turley’s column about “the art of scandal implosion.”  Dispensing with the Hunter case, he said, would be like accomplishing the controlled demolition of a building without damaging any other structures.

He said this “takes precision and, most importantly, cooperation, to pull off.  Specifically, this controlled demolition will require the perfect timing of the media, Democratic politicians, and, most importantly, the Justice Department.”  He reminded us that this was “the same alliance that successfully killed the story before the election despite evidence of a multimillion-dollar influence peddling scheme by the Biden family.  The media eagerly spread the false claim of 51 intelligence experts who declared that the laptop was likely ‘Russian disinformation.’  Twitter and social media companies imposed a news blackout before the election.  Recently, GOP senators also accused the Justice Department of effectively spiking the investigation --- displaying the same bias documented in the Russian collusion investigation.”

So almost a year ago, he predicted that the way to achieve the controlled demolition of the Biden case would be to trigger a smaller explosion, and that’s what this sentence on very narrow criminal charges was.

https://jonathanturley.org/2022/08/03/the-art-of-scandal-implosion-the-political-and-media-establishment-prepare-to-drop-hunter-biden-in-a-controlled-demolition/

We didn’t have to be law professors like Jonathan Turley to know this was coming.  Amazing how predictable it was, isn’t it?  That’s one convenient thing about this two-tiered ‘justice’ system:  once you’ve really got it in place, there’s hardly any need to bother with the process, as the outcome is pre-determined.   We still have a lot of going-through-the-motions, but think of all the time and money we could save without the fuss of a Washington DC jury trial that’s just going to come out the way we all know, depending on the politics of the defendant.  Just take the plea, knowing that the result will hinge on what your last name and political affiliation are.  Go before the judge with the last name Biden, and you get a sweetheart deal that resolves your issues with no jail time.

Go before the judge with the last name Trump, and snap!  You can face 400 years in prison on what should have been a civil case if it were brought at all.

As Tucker Carlson put it, “As in most of the developing world, it’s safer to be the President’s son than his opponent.”

Most Americans have the view of this that the BABYLON BEE satirized so well.

https://babylonbee.com/news/hunter-avoids-jail-time-after-pleading-biden

To recap, here’s what happened yesterday.

https://townhall.com/tipsheet/spencerbrown/2023/06/20/hunter-biden-pleads-guilty-in-gun-tax-case-n2624724

The plea deal has been filed in federal court in Delaware, but Hunter still has to go before the judge and finalize the deal.

Legal analyst Andrew C. McCarthy called the plea agreement, and the timing of it, “intentionally provocative.”  His theory is that they’ve done this to help win the Republican nomination for Trump.  “Last week,” he wrote, “Trump was flirting with 60 percent in GOP primary polling after being indicted.  Democrats seem bound and determined to get him to 70.”  Still, if they keep illustrating how corrupt the ‘justice’ system is, they’d better be careful what they wish for.  They might just win the White House for him, too, as Trump is increasingly seen as the only one truly capable of standing up to the deep state and saving the country. And remember, the Democrat sycophant media also worked hard to make Trump the GOP candidate in 2016 because they thought he would be the easiest for Hillary to beat. One of the hallmarks of leftists is that they NEVER learn from their mistakes.

https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/the-intentionally-provocative-hunter-biden-plea-deal/

By the way, it was a great day all around for Hunter, as he also settled his child support case with Lunden Roberts, the mother of his unacknowledged daughter, 4-year-old Navy.  Roberts’ attorney couldn’t confirm, as the terms are sealed, but the NEW YORK POST has reported that his payment was slashed from $20,000 a month to potentially just $5,000.

Think the judge actually bought his story about having fallen on hard times?  Well, he did have to move in with his dad.  His attorney, Chris Clark, formerly with the powerhouse Democrat law firm of Latham & Watkins, must be a mighty persuasive fellow, considering his client flies around on a private jet.  We understand he gets by with a little help from his friends, particularly the “sugar brother” who paid his delinquent tax bill of between $1-2 million, his burgeoning legal fees, and $20,000 monthly rent on a Malibu beach house.  And, um, he also sells paintings for undisclosed fees to undisclosed buyers.

Her attorney, Clint Lancaster, said something curious.  Read into this cryptic statement what you will: “I believe that settlement is important to Hunter Biden [but] we have concerns that Hunter would use [the settlement] as a means to support some agenda of his...There’s always more that goes on in settlement negotiations than people realize.”

https://townhall.com/tipsheet/rebeccadowns/2023/06/20/tuesday-brought-even-more-news-about-hunter-biden-n2624762

Guy Benson at TOWNHALL tweeted: “Democrats proudly proclaim their passionate commitment to ‘gun safety’ and ‘tax fairness.’  After an investigation that (inexplicably) dragged on for years, the Biden DOJ has handed a no-jail deal to a repeat tax cheat who also lied on a gun purchase form --- whose last name is Biden.”

A number of conservative commentators have brought up the issue of “white privilege” and wondered aloud where all the equity-loving leftists are on this.  Certainly, they’re hypocrites by staying quiet, but I see this more as the growing problem of POLITICAL privilege.  It’s become so in-your-face obvious now under Biden’s ‘Justice’ Department that it simply cannot stand.  If any building is going to be imploded, it needs to be theirs.

We found a headline that says it all.  “AMERICAN JUSTICE:  69-year-old grandma with cancer given more prison time for walking inside U.S. Capitol than Hunter Biden for sharing classified documents with foreign regimes and multi-million-dollar bribery schemes.”  More, as in, Hunter won’t go at all.

https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2023/06/american-justice-69-year-old-grandma-cancer-given/

But there is hope, regardless of Hunter’s easy plea.  Turley’s column, written in 2022 before the congressional election, said this: “Of course, controlled demolition can at times take an unexpected turn.  The greatest danger is that either house of Congress could flip to GOP control.  That would open up the entire matter to Congressional investigation.”  And that’s just what happened.  So congressional committees are finally doing the work that a real Justice Department would do, if we had one.

Kentucky Rep. James Comer, chairman of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, appeared Tuesday night with Kayleigh McEnany on FOX NEWS TONIGHT with a report of more progress.  He had come from FBI headquarters, where he was able to view two additional sensitive FBI “1023” forms.  At this point, the documents are about “55-60 percent” redacted, he said.  The FBI had initially denied having them, but footnotes in the first one they saw referred to two others, one dated 2017, the other dated 2018.  On Tuesday, they brought him two from 2017 and stonewalled on the one from 2018.  So here we go again.

Rep. Comer, and Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan, who chairs the House Judiciary Committee, have questions for FBI Director Chris Wray about this, and they also want to talk with Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss, who’s presiding over the plea deal with Hunter.  The excuse the FBI is using not to turn over those “1023” forms --- and also those suspicious activity reports from banks, which they’re STILL withholding --- is that Weiss has said the Biden investigation is ongoing.  As long as they can call it an “ongoing investigation,” even if nothing is happening, they get to stonewall.  So, is Weiss really investigating, or is he just helping the FBI shut Congress out?  (The media keep reminding us that Weiss is “a Trump appointee,” but that means nothing.)

In September, Comer said, they’ll be looking at the budget and can use the power of the purse to deal with the ‘Justice’ Department and FBI.  “The most realistic option,” he said, “to get rid of these people, to get new people in place in these deep state bureaucracies, is to cut their budgets.”  They’ll also use their other options, he said, including contempt and impeachment if necessary.

Key figure Devon Archer testifies next week, he said.  Comer believes there will be Biden family subpoenas this year.  And if he could question President Biden right now, he’d ask him, “What did your family do to receive millions and millions of dollars from Romania and from China?”  His committee just got another set of bank records coming in from Russia and Ukraine, and he’d ask about those, too.

Biden has said he knew nothing of his family’s business activities.  Would he continue to lie, even under oath?  Or would he just call it a dumb question?

Comer offered reassurance, saying, “The American people will know the truth, not because of the FBI, but because of the work of the House Oversight Committee.”
