Leftists are terrified of DeSantis
I always assume that if you have to lie about your opponents’ views to win an argument, then your own arguments must not be very solid. We’ve seen that a lot lately with the way leftists, terrified of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ success, keep repeatedly lying about what he’s doing and saying (for instance, there is no such thing as a “Don’t Say Gay” law.) They took it one step further at Saturday’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner, when “comedian” Trevor Noah not only misrepresented Florida’s policy on math books, but pretended DeSantis was in the crowd at the time. He was not.
DeSantis made it very clear that he had better things to do with his time and didn’t care about joining “a cabal of people” in DC and New York who were showing why they are “so reviled by so many Americans.” Let’s hope when they talk about that, they quote him accurately.
Another network to avoid
Discovery+ has decided to say, “Hold muh Kool-Aid” to Disney by launching a series called “Generation Drag” about young teenage drag queens competing at “Dragutante,” a drag ball for queer teens in Denver, Colorado.

When I say they’re competing with Disney, I mean both in grooming minors and driving their stock price down.
‘Handout’
There are a lot of misleading memes on the Internet, but I saw one recently on a liberal’s Facebook page that struck me as particularly annoying, because it managed to be both wildly incorrect and arrogantly condescending. It read:
“Explain why canceling $1,900,000,000,000 in student loan debt is a ‘handout,’ but a $1,900,000,000,000 tax cut for rich people was a ‘stimulus.’ Explain it to me like I’m in kindergarten.”
I have a feeling I’ll have to. So let me give it a go.
First of all, a “handout” is when you give someone free money, not when you let them keep a little more of the money they earned themselves.
Second, you can’t “cancel” debt. Even if you let the people who borrowed the money off the hook for paying it back, somebody still has to. If someone took your cookie and you never got it back, you’d cry, “That’s not fair!” (You did say to talk to you as if you’re a kindergartener.) So the responsibility for paying it back is shifted to someone who didn’t borrow it (Again: “That’s not faaair!”) The government may pay it instead, but it only has money it takes from someone else in the form of taxes (or borrowing, but they eventually have to pay that back, or at least the interest, with tax revenues.)
Only 13% of Americans are carrying student loan debt. They largely tend to be part of the current strongest Democrat voting bloc: white people of reasonably affluent backgrounds with college degrees. “Canceling” their student loan debt would mean making people of all races, incomes and political views (who didn’t get degrees they couldn’t afford, or paid off their student loans) pay more taxes (a real “ouchie!” to their budgets) to cover debts willingly assumed by a small group of privileged Democrat voters. That’s why it’s a “handout,” and “it’s not faaaaaaaair!”

As for the $1.9 trillion “tax cut for the rich,” that’s not a “stimulus.” It’s a “lie.” According to the nonpartisan Tax Foundation, the Trump-era tax cut reduced effective tax rates for all Americans, with most benefits going to lower and middle class taxpayers. It eliminated the alternative minimum tax, taking millions of people off the tax rolls entirely. The top 1% of earners, making over $500,000, accounted for 22% of tax revenues in 2018. After the tax cut, their share increased to 40% of all revenues. Middle class Americans earning $50-$100K saw their taxes drop by a total of $31 billion to 13% of the total owed. Taxes on low wage workers dropped by $4 billion to only 1% of total revenues.
It also resulted in tax simplification that saved countless hours and costs of preparation, created record job openings and new business starts, and sparked rising real wages for working people for the first time in decades. That gain has been reversed under Biden, with wages now falling behind the rate of inflation, which is exacerbated – sorry, “made worse” – by borrowing/printing money and throwing it at everything under the sun, such as paying off everybody’s student loans.

Surely, our new Anti-Disinformation Agency will soon ban misleading memes like that from the Internet. But I wouldn’t bet on it.
Here’s another reason why Elon Musk should own Twitter
He’s such a master at it, he can completely own a frothing MSNBC leftist and the entire network with just two tweets.
Shadow-banned
Twitter kept assuring us that the idea of conservatives being “shadow-banned” and having their reach reduced was just a lot of paranoid nonsense. But I’d noticed that over the past year or so, the number of new followers on my Twitter account had taken an obvious nosedive. Sen. Ted Cruz also noticed the same thing. Then suddenly, on April 26th, the day after Elon Musk’s buy-out offer was accepted, his daily total of new followers jumped by a factor of 25x.
Coincidentally, my staff and I were also marveling at how my total new followers leapt from under 5500 in March to over 55,000 in April.
Yes, it could just be from conservatives returning to Twitter. But there’s also the fact that on April 26th, a lockdown went into effect making it harder for Twitter employees to make unauthorized changes.
So is it just an innocent coincidence, or proof that there has been nefarious tinkering? I’m willing to believe whatever a thorough investigation proves, so I expect Musk to launch one as soon as possible. If not, House Republicans could be launching one of their own.

Tuesday's QUOTE OF THE DAY
QUOTE OF THE DAY, and yes, it’s because we had already made the very same point, which we emphasize below. From Tulsi Gabbard on "Jesse Watters Primetime":
“When we’re talking about this ‘Ministry Of Truth,’ what’s even more disturbing than the fact that you have all these Democrats who are supporting it, is that there are powerful Republicans who are supporting it as well. There’s one in particular over the last couple of days who’s been very vocal on television about this, and I want to read his direct quote, because it was very disturbing to me. He says, ‘This is an important function of the Department of Homeland Security, but they put the absolute wrong person in charge of it.’ THE PROBLEM HERE IS NOT THE PERSON THEY PUT IN CHARGE OF IT. THE BIGGER PROBLEM HERE IS THE BOARD ITSELF.”
The Republican she was talking about is Karl Rove, and it’s true –- we heard him say this on Sunday and just about fell over. What on earth? As we have stressed, There is no “important function,” or any justifiable function at all, for a board like this. It doesn’t matter if they replace her (for now) with someone else seemingly less strident. This board cannot be allowed to exist. As Gabbard went on to say, this is something that belongs in a dictatorship, not the United States of America.
