2. Time to make a right turn:
Happy New Year! Remember a year ago, we were so glad to be getting out of the 2020 Covid year of lockdowns, social distancing, and washing hands until they bled. The vaccines had been created in record time due to Operation Warp Speed that President Trump launched and there seemed to be real optimism that 2021 was going to be a year we turned the corner! Well, we did turn the corner, but we kept turning each corner and ended up on the same path as 2020 but even worse. Joe Biden was sworn in as President promising to unite the country and on his first day in office he shut down the Keystone XL pipeline and put tens of thousands of people out of work. He rescinded the highly successful border polices and became President Minnie Pearl, hollering, “Y’all Come!” to hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants who flooded the border, overran Border Patrol capacity, and promptly renewed the US participation in the Paris Climate Accords which almost instantly spiked the cost of energy in everything from production of raw materials to fueling cars and trucks.
His calls for historic levels of government spending sent the economy into the highest rates of inflation in 39 years and calls for mandatory vaccinations and mask-wearing had the country split along political lines instead of public health concerns. This Christmas, we’ve had a lot of your grandkids presents sitting on a ship in the Pacific unable to bring the cargo in due to a supply chain disaster caused by the same America last policies that Biden seemed to want to permanently put in place.
But maybe in 2022 we really turn the corner and this time make a RIGHT turn, both ideologically and politically. Parents across the country got so fed up with forced teaching of how bad America is and that we’re just an evil racist country, that they started showing up to school board meetings and town councils and saying “we’re not going to take it anymore.” We saw it play out in elections in VA and New Jersey, where a political novice defeated a Democrat former Governor in VA, and in NJ, a truck driver spent less than $200 in a primary to oust the longest serving member of the NJ State Senate who was also the Senate President.
And the Democrats have responded to hostility against big government spending programs and control by offering, what else…even bigger big government spending programs!
Maybe 2022 will be the year Americans will decide that our country is a great country worth loving. Hopefully we will brutally reject the politics and policies of those who say America is evil and systemically racist. If that were true, we wouldn’t have such a long line of people trying to break into the country and no line of people trying to break out. But I think we SHOULD form a line for those who hate America and we will offer them a one-way ticket to the country of their choice. In the meantime, we have a chance to defeat those politicians at the local, state and national level who prefer socialism. We have an opportunity to slow and perhaps even stop the long slide toward failure. If we do that, it really will be a HAPPY NEW YEAR!
3. The Big Wheel of Random Oppression:
Time once again to spin the Big Wheel of Random Oppression and see…where…..it……..stops!
It stopped on “Jingle Bells!” Yes, mark it down, the beloved Christmas tune “Jingle Bells” is now officially racist!
It was banned from an elementary school in Rochester, New York, after a researcher claimed that it was first performed 170 years ago by minstrel show performers. Even the researcher who wrote that said she was shocked that it would cause the song to be banned. But hey, the wokies are running out of things to declare racist, so they’ll grasp at anything. There was even a claim that the “jingle bells” referred to bells that slave owners put on slaves to keep track of them. This despite the fact that we know it refers to sleigh bells on bob-tail horses because it SAYS SO RIGHT IN THE SONG!
Maybe they’d settle for us just letting them update the lyrics to “Oh what fun it is to feign offense at eve-ry-thing!”
Next to go: “Frosty The Snowman,” who with his pale complexion and silk top hat is obviously a white supremacist, capitalist oppressor.
4. Unbelievable:
Good news for those who are upset that Democrats have let looters and smash-and-grab thieves get away scot-free for the past year. It turns out that they will be made to pay after all. The IRS is reminding taxpayers that stolen goods must be declared as taxable income.
No, I’m serious. Democrats must assume that someone who loots and steals for a living would never cheat on his taxes, since that’s the only crime they recognize anymore.
5. Understandably Alarmed:
Our Surgeon General is understandably alarmed by a steep rise in feelings of helplessness, depression and thoughts of suicide among children, teens and young adults.
That headline, though, needs some rewriting. As Prof. Glenn Reynolds at Instapundit pointed out, all those mental health issues weren’t “triggered by the pandemic,” they were triggered by the government’s authoritarian “lockdown everything” reaction to the pandemic, even when dealing with schools full of kids nearly all of whom are basically immune to the disease.
At least the incredible damage wrought by the “expert” class’s wrongheaded overreaction to COVID is finally starting to be recognized, even by someone from CBS News. It’s too bad that CBS felt it had to censor its own reporter for speaking the truth, but having someone from that network grasp the truth and speak up about it is at least a baby step in the right direction.
6. Americans agree on this:
Despite a crushing amount of media propaganda, social media cancel attempts, death threats and bogus accusations of hate and transphobia, the latest Rasmussen survey finds that 75% of Americans are still in touch enough with reality to believe that there are only two sexes, with 63% “strongly” agreeing.

And as long as I’m reporting the latest woke insanity, let’s once again spin the Big Wheel of Random Oppression and see…where…..it……..stops!
On "fishing!" Okay, everyone make a note: Fishing, hunting and hiking are now bastions of white supremacy. And this came from a college professor, so you know it must be true.
8. All-"Girls":
Winsor School, an all-girl private prep school in Massachusetts, announced that in the name of diversity and inclusion, it will stop using the terms “she, her, hers” and “your daughter,” and replace them with “they, them, theirs” and “student.” Also, instead of “parent/guardian,” they’ll say, “Adult family member” (note to these “educators”: the singular “they, them, theirs” is grammatically incorrect and “parent/guardian” is already gender neutral.) Teachers will also be told to address students by their preferred pronouns, and not to address groups of students as “girls” or “ladies.”
So I guess to be accurate, I should have written that Winsor is an all-“girls” prep school.
