DAILY BIBLE VERSE

15 But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”

Joshua 24:15 NIV

Joe Biden built this

Just so it’s not forgotten, this is what President Biden’s reversal of Trump border security policies has created…

https://www.breitbart.com/border/2023/03/02/exclusive-128k-migrants-caught-in-february-at-southwest-border-up-31-over-feb-2021/

Aside from increased crime and fentanyl deaths, this is just a tiny fraction of what it’s costing us…

And this is what it’s really all about…

A Funny-ironic and funny-ha-ha story

It’s funny (both funny-ironic and funny-ha-ha) that at least two members of The Squad, that band of radical House “Democratic” socialists, are facing ethics questions over their handling of money. The Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust complained to the Federal Election Commission about Rep. Cori Bush allegedly paying over $62,000 in campaign funds for private security to a security guard who’s now her husband.

https://www.westernjournal.com/govt-watchdog-calls-investigation-squad-member-fishy-payments-revealed/

Of course, to me, the bigger scandal in this story is that Bush spent $571,856 on security in 2022 while pushing the “Defund the Police” hogwash that’s put millions of Americans at the mercy of violent criminals. When called out on her hypocrisy, she replied, “I have private security because my body is worth being on this planet right now. I have private security because [of] the white supremacist, racist narrative that they drive into this country. So suck it up, and defunding the police has to happen.”

Got that? If you question her taking away your police protection while she spends over half a million bucks on her own, you’re a racist white supremacist, I guess even if you’re one of the black Americans who face the greatest elevated risk of being a crime victim because of the defunding of police in blue cities. Her body is worth being on this planet right now, but yours is not.

Meanwhile, the glamorous fashionista socialist member of The Squad is also in trouble over her body, or what she wrapped it in. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez attended the super-ritzy Met Gala in New York City in 2021, wearing a designer gown emblazoned with the words “Tax The Rich.” She claimed the gown was “borrowed” and her comped ticket to the star-studded bash was just part of elected officials’ “responsibilities in overseeing our city’s cultural institutions that serve the public.” I guess it's also their civic duty to drink the champagne and eat the canapes.

Her attorney insists that she didn’t violate any rules or laws, and she paid the vendors (after being called out) and “always understood that she had to pay for these expenses personally.” But the House Ethics Committee just voted to investigate her on a possible violation of federal law for accepting impermissible gifts.

https://www.westernjournal.com/congressional-ethics-office-releases-update-investigation-aoc-may-broken-federal-law/

These two stories illustrate why I could never be a socialist. I just don’t have access to such huge amounts of other people’s money.

A solution to the epidemic of homelessness in California cities

If California (or any other blue state) really wants to solve its epidemic of homelessness, they could take the advice of the mayor of Coronado, California, Republican Richard Bailey, who presides over a vagrancy rate of zero. But they’re not going to like it because it makes too much sense.

A CPAC note

I’m not going to do in-depth coverage of the CPAC conference, but I have to link you to this article with video and quotes from the speech by Louisiana Sen. John Kennedy. He’s one of the sharpest and most hilarious conservatives on the political scene today, and this speech had more common sense and far more quotable lines than a year’s worth of New York Times editorials. Make that a decade’s worth.

Jay Leno

Jay Leno made his first TV appearance this week on Kelly Clarkson’s talk show, after undergoing treatment for third degree burns to his face caused when one of his antique cars splattered gasoline on him that ignited. You can see the video here, and I’m happy to say that he looks amazingly good. It’s a testament to modern medicine that you can’t even tell he was injured. He might even look better than before. Jay joked, “This is a brand new face.”

Let’s hope other Hollywood celebrities don’t start setting their faces on fire with gasoline in hopes of getting the new “Jay Leno skin peel facelift.”

WAYNE SHORTER, R.I.P.

By “Huckabee” pop culture guru Pat Reeder (http://www.hollywoodhifi.com)

As a music lover, indie record label co-owner, University of North Texas graduate, and husband of a jazz singer (Laura Ainsworth) whose dad was a major big band saxophonist, it gives me great sorrow to have to report that Wayne Shorter died Thursday in a Los Angeles hospital at 89.

https://news.yahoo.com/saxophonist-weather-report-co-founder-194054530.html

Shorter was an extremely influential saxophonist, composer and arranger who was a founding member of the pioneering jazz fusion group Weather Report. He played with everyone from Miles Davis and Art Blakey to Steely Dan (he played the sax solo on “Aja”), Carlos Santana and Joni Mitchell. Over a career that spanned seven decades, he was nominated for Grammy Awards 23 times and won a dozen, most recently in 2019 for Best Jazz Album for his final release, “Emanon.” He retired from performing in 2018 due to health problems, but continued composing.

If you’d like to explore his music, USA Today compiled some videos of some of his most popular tracks, including the jazz standard, “Birdland.”

For those wanting to do a real deep dive, Ranker.com has a list of his albums ranked by fans (but don’t necessarily go by that.)

Finally, Robert Spencer at PJ Media penned an appreciation of Wayne Shorter and how his passing represents the passing of a great era of American music, art, literature and culture, the likes of which are almost nonexistent today.

Another Dem -- and a member of "The Squad" -- caught flouting the law. https://flagandcross.com/looks-like-squad-members-new-husband-secretly-married-broke-law-major-way/?utm_source=Email&utm_medium=flag-and-cross&utm_campaign=am-newsletter&utm_content=CAN

But, given the state of affairs in the Deep State, she'll probably skate, I'm sorry to say.

Regards to Homeless People: In my own experience working security in local hospitals. Street people are amazingly resourceful. Kick them out of one place and they will find someplace else where they are much harder to find.
One street person I was talking to was booted out of his location, he now has his little camp set up in another secret location and hasn't been found by police in over a year along with a couple of his buddies.
Or plan B, just keep moving around. Or plan C, just boomerang around after police leave. Or check into hospital for a couple days for breakfast lunch and dinner and head back out again and again. And plan D! In really bad cold weather get arrested and spend awhile in jail, free meals and medical care!
Salvation Army? City Mission or Catholic Charities?...No Way! Too many rules!!...Cranky, anger mgt issues, fleas, lice and smelly. You just have to just love them!....sorta. ;-)
And I have no clue what the answer(s) are to the problem. Most of all, Jesus Loves Them!
