BIBLE VERSE OF THE DAY

The Internet Is Forever

By Mike Huckabee

After Democrats accused former President Trump of inciting violent insurrection by urging his followers to “fight like hell” for vote integrity, Republicans unearthed examples of various prominent Democrats using similar and even identical language. They include Rep. Eric Swalwell from “Impeachment Debacle #1,” current Impeachment debacle leader Rep. Jamie Raskin and President Joe Biden.

Wow, we’re going to have to sit through a lot of impeachments in 2021!

More Third Party Talk

By Mike Huckabee

I keep cautioning Trump supporters not to fall for the trap of forming a third party and splitting the conservative vote to keep Democrats in power forever. Political races require more than enthusiasm; they require a massive infrastructure to get petitions signed, names on ballots, voters turned out, and on and on and on. If you don’t like certain Republicans, then find good, electable primary challengers, work hard, turn out and elect better Republicans.

But here’s a new twist on that story: some anti-Trump former Republican officials are reportedly discussing forming their own third party for “principled conservativism.” They’re considering calling it “the Integrity Party,” so I assume the Lincoln Project people won’t be involved.

(Pardon the leftist slant in the writing of that story; it’s from Reuters, and the ability to write objectively is no longer a job requirement there.)

I might be more concerned about this pulling away Republican votes if it weren’t for the fact that these are mostly well-known anti-Trumpers who voted for and endorsed Hillary and Biden over Trump (nothing says “conservative principles” like working to elect Constitution-shredding Democrats.) To them, helping elect Democrats wouldn't be a bug, it would be a feature.

Someone needs to tell them there’s already a party for people who voted for Hillary and Biden over Trump. It’s called “the Democratic Party.”

Jeep Yanks Super Bowl Commercial

By Mike Huckabee

Jeep yanked its Super Bowl commercial with Bruce Springsteen promoting “unity” off of YouTube after it was reported that Springsteen got busted for DWI in November.

On the plus side, this does promote unity, because now even Democrats can agree with Republicans that that ad was a really bad idea.

“If It Weren’t For Double Standards…” Dept

By Mike Huckabee

A reminder that the House’s lead “impeachment manager,” Rep. Jamie Raskin, joined other Democrats in objecting to certifying Florida’s electoral votes for Trump in the 2016 election. But that was back when it was patriotism, not insurrection.

Overlooking The Evidence

By Mike Huckabee

While the media are obsessed with reviewing how former President Trump’s attorneys are performing in his “impeachment” trial, they’re overlooking just how much of the so-called “evidence” the Democrats are presenting is simply false (and that’s not even counting the charge that his speech incited a riot that was being planned as far back as November.)

Like this

And this

And this

In that last case, they have no excuse. Who uses CNN as a reliable source on the Trump “impeachment”?

Or, come to think of it, on anything, really

Anthem Update

By Mike Huckabee

UPDATE: After Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban said the National Anthem would no longer be played before home games, the NBA informed him that the league policy is that all teams will play the National Anthem, and that includes the Mavericks.

Cuban said he would resume playing the Anthem, but added, “We respect and always have respected the passion people have for the anthem and our country. But we also loudly hear the voices of those who feel that the anthem does not represent them. We feel that their voices need to be respected and heard, because they have not been.”

Does anyone else feel that those are the only voices we’re hearing these days?

Biden Press Secretary Jen Psaki also weighed in with a similar statement, saying that Biden “has great respect for the anthem and all that it represents, especially for our men and women serving in uniform around the world,” but “he’d also say that, of course, that part of pride in our country means recognizing moments where we as a country haven’t lived up to our highest ideals.”

When I look at some of the people we’ve elected, I’d sadly have to agree. But that doesn’t mean it’s okay to express it by disrespecting the National Anthem.

That Didn't Take Long

By Mike Huckabee

Well, this headline didn’t take long to appear: “Georgia’s New Democrat Senator Under Investigation For Voter Registration Fraud”…

Good news in this story: Gov. Brian Kemp seems determined to rehabilitate the state’s image by tightening voter integrity laws.

Least surprising part of the story: the fraud investigation involves Warnock’s work overseeing a voter registration organization founded by Stacey Abrams.

And as long as I’ve brought that name up, I’ll share a laugh from the Babylon Bee

If these Republicans keep talking about a new party, they had first try to break up the Democrat Party. Someone needs to start a Socialist Party, a Woke Party, and give a kick in the pants to the Green Party. That's the only way breaking up the Conservative vote won't cause a world of hurt.

I am very glad Cuban was overruled by the NBA! After the league's 2020 fiasco, maybe they decided not to go down the same road again!

As for people feeling that the Anthem doesn't apply to them, they need to re-think their standings. First, the Anthem applies to any person born in this country. They have freedom because of the past battles fought by men and women who took a stand and, in many cases, gave their lives so we can be free! Those who feel their voices aren't heard definitely take this country for granted.

Second, as for the NBA players from other countries that play in this nation's professional basketball league and feel that the Anthem doesn't apply to them should be extremely grateful for being allowed to play in this nation and be paid big bucks to do so!!! (Far bigger bucks than most American citizens will ever make.) If they have an issue with our Anthem, let them go home to their own country! If I were to live in another country on this earth, I would be respectful of that country's Anthem even though I was not born there!

The same issue of respect for this nation and our Anthem applies to foreign exchange students, workers with green cards, illegal immigrants, etc., that are here only to take advantage of this nation's resources...from education to financial and everything in between, especially the free stuff they are given!

Three things the majority of the adults in the USA lack (besides common sense) are respect, consideration, and responsibility. These are the things (besides the Word of God) that need to be instilled in the hearts and minds of the American people and all foreigners that reside here.

One of these days the majority of today's senseless adults in the USA will be the older generation. Then what? What will they be saying about the younger generations? Probably things far worse than the older generation expresses now!

Last but not least, how did Cuban explain the Anthem not being sung before Mavs' games to his kids?! Why has he gone against his raising? Guess he has enough money to talk for him! Power over Principle does not compute, Mr. Cuban!

    Mike,

You keep haranguing us about not starting up a third party. There is only one reason there is even any talk about it. The Republican Party is an absolute disgrace! It is inept in its opposition to the Left, its politician candidates and office holders are turncoats, RINOs and traitors to their constituents. Witness what happened with this most recent despicable renewed impeachment vote. Several “republican” traitors actually voted for it! This is unconscionable and you even highlighted these despicable people in your February 11th evening edition.

This leaves me to ask you, what do you think we get when we vote Republican? Aren’t they at least partially responsible for where we are right now—their appeasement, compromising with evil, voting liberal once they get to DC? RINOs. This is what they have been doing—until Trump came along. I am a proud supporter of President Trump and was a direct donor to his campaign for reelection. However, I find it impossible to donate to the RNC and I have written Ronna McDaniel multiple times on this with no response whatsoever, (other than to get more donation solicitations in my mailbox).

    Here is why:

When you look at the actual voting record of the majority of “republican” office holders in Congress, their record is no better than a democrat’s. That is absolutely intolerable. We did not send them to Washington to end up voting alongside the democrats. RINOs should not be tolerated or funded. They are a big reason we are in this mess.

If your so-called Republican candidates cannot courageously message conservative values, then they should opt out of campaigning as Republicans and go join the other party. The few who do are even mocked and vilified by their own party brethren. I read your admonishments on starting a third party and it just makes me angry, when no one is calling out the party to get some backbone, some balls and go fight aggressively for us conservatives! At least Trump did—and many of them wouldn’t even go fight the fight with him. They were busy sabotaging him at every turn.

Now we have literally half the electorate who has been defrauded of an election and a big reason is “republicans” either didn’t do their job, stood by and wrung their hands or simply said, “well we need to look into this, so it won’t happen next time.’’ There is no more “next time.” This was it and republicans muffed their chance and dropped the ball much to the eternal detriment of our country.

The Left needs to be confronted for what it really is, and this includes virtually everyone now associated with the democrat party. That’s the only way they can be dealt with. They cannot be compromised with—because as we have seen, every compromise just means giving up a portion of our sanity, our rationality and our society. Ultimately, our Constitution. And every time, one of those compromises is a win for their side. Over time all those little portions and compromises have added up to this point in time we’re faced with now—single party control at the Federal level.

No third party? Then who is going to hold the Republican party’s feet to the fire to aggressively, courageously support conservatism? Trump tried. We see now how that turned out.

    Sincerely,
    Wallace Rowan

Third Party ? although I certainly dislike the Rinos and Traitors in the Republican party. The problem seems to be taking care of itself and these people are leaving the Republican party in droves. Showing there true colors. We are the party of the common working man. No matter the color or background. We work hard and love GOD, family, our country . We hate what they are doing and have been lied to long enough and been betrayed.
Remember the song by the WHO ?
Get on our knees and pray, we don't get fooled again.

Mike, I rarely disagree with you, but I have a totally different take on this national anthem business. You said that not playing the anthem is disrespecting it. Well, I'm sorry, but using the anthem as an excuse for whatever cause you are trying to stand up for (by kneeling) - even though it does NOTHING for that cause - is just as much total and utter disrespect for the national anthem if not more.

To make a long story short, I think the removal of the anthem from such events is inevitable at some point. For one reason, when real fans return to the stadiums, arenas and whatever else, there are an awful lot of people who are just not going to put up with kneelers - and might be inclined to do something about it. When that starts to happen, every effort will be made to protect the kneelers - and the removal of the national anthem will likely be on the top of the list. I'm absolutely not saying I support it. I'm saying I don't see how that does not happen.

And I must say, I might be one of those people who are inclined to do something about kneelers. Yes, they can have their standpoint or belief, but that does not mean that the national anthem at an event is the time, place and way to carry it out. Now there is no question that what these people have been doing is for show purposes only - and they do it only at times and in places where the kneelers know they will get away with it - and/or get slavenly biased coverage by the LSM (lame-stream media).

But even if I were to agree with the cause they supposedly represent, disrespecting the national anthem and those who fought for that freedom accomplishes NOTHING in terms of bringing needed change. And I don't care what the supporters of doing it say - it IS disrespecting those who have and currently are fighting for our freedom - and NOTHING ELSE.

But I don't see an atmosphere in this country that will shame these kneelers into taking their idiocy elsewhere and giving the anthem the respect it deserves. And spineless sports commissioners you know will no longer stand with proper decency here.

Does "Tongue-in Cheek" quips and jabbing Democrats for their hypocrisy really working? I'm not seeing it. The Democrats just keep on doing what they do best, setting standards for the rest of us that they don't follow for themselves. They also set up committees that censor free speech, gun rights, adjudicate conservatives, lie about our President, count illegal ballots and have the MSM say they didn't, etc. Conservatives had better take a stand or we will be soon be speaking Mandarin, Russian, and Iranian!!!

I never cared for Springsteen. He cannot sing, he just sort of hollers, and his so-called songs drip with hatred. Why are people in Jersey so proud of him, when his first so-called hit, "Born to Run" is about wanting to leave Jersey? And Brian Kemp - oh yes, NOW he is investigating vote harvesting and fraud after he succeeded in helping to defeat President Trump! What a dummkopf! If anything, Kemp should be investigated by the feds for collusion with Stacey Abrams.

I cannot and will not watch the impeachment proceedings. It is maddening to see all these Democrat accusations of President Trump using language to incite violence when we can watch video clips of many of these democrats using the same exact words.
These Democrats said absolutely nothing about the riots this summer. The violence, killing and destruction of property. They called it mostly peaceful protests. They raised money to bail out these thugs! Definitely a double standard!
I absolutely agree with you about some Republicans wanting to form another party. We need to stick together! This really worries me! God help the USA????

Mike this is long and from the Epoch Times but the folks might find it really helpful for now

    Alternate text
September 9, 1965, was a life-changing day for James Stockdale. It was the day that his Douglas A-4 Skyhawk was shot out of the sky, forcing him to eject to save his own life.

The North Vietnamese captured the American admiral that day. But little did they know then that they would take in a very, very troublesome prisoner.

They detained Stockdale at the H?a Lò Prison, the infamous “Hanoi Hilton.” He soon established communications among the American prisoners of war, and a code of rules to organize the prisoners and boost their morale.

When the abuse of American POWs reached a climax in 1969, Stockdale was selected by his captors as a trophy for their propaganda. Knowing that he wouldn’t be paraded if he was disfigured, he cut his own scalp with a razor and then beat his own face with a wooden stool, foiling his captors’ plans.

After Stockdale found out that several POWs had been tortured to death, he slit his own wrists to show that he would rather die than capitulate to his captors. From that night on, the practice of torturing American POWs stopped in the facility.

Stockdale finally returned home to the United States in 1973 after seven-and-a-half years in prison. In 1976, he was awarded the Medal of Honor for his heroism.

Once, Stockdale had invited Jim Collins, a management scholar, out to lunch. Collins asked Stockdale about how he persevered while in Vietnam.

“I never lost faith in the end of the story,” replied Stockdale. “I never doubted not only that I would get out, but also that I would prevail in the end and turn the experience into the defining event of my life, which, in retrospect, I would not trade.”

Collins then asked about the kinds of people who didn’t make it out of the Hanoi Hilton.

“The optimists,” came the response. And then Stockdale explained.

“Oh, they were the ones who said, ‘We’re going to be out by Christmas.’ And Christmas would come, and Christmas would go. Then they’d say, ‘We’re going to be out by Easter.’ And Easter would come, and Easter would go. And then Thanksgiving, and then it would be Christmas again. And they died of a broken heart.”

After a moment of silence, Stockdale finished his thought.

“This is a very important lesson. You must never confuse faith that you will prevail in the end—which you can never afford to lose—with the discipline to confront the most brutal facts of your current reality, whatever they might be.”

Collins would later codify this into his coaching regime as the “Stockdale paradox” to help business leaders who were facing challenges—which is sound reasoning. After all, if this thinking can help a soldier survive POW camp, there are very few things it can’t help with.
