3. Supreme Court - Is Biden’s nominee in trouble?

Matt Margolis at PJ Media has a good article on the possibility that President Biden’s Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson might not garner enough support to be confirmed by the Senate.

https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/matt-margolis/2022/03/17/joe-bidens-scotus-pick-might-be-in-trouble-now-n1567286

Unfortunately, that’s for subscribers only. But here are links to earlier stories about the series of disturbing revelations that could derail her nomination. They include her arguments about the judicial system being unfair to sex offenders, including possessors of child pornography…

https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/robert-spencer/2022/02/26/bidens-supreme-court-pick-once-claimed-judicial-system-unfair-to-sex-offenders-n1562052

…Her work representing terrorist detainees at Gitmo…

…And now, her history of praising the creators of Critical Race Theory and “The 1619 Project” have come to light.

https://www.dailywire.com/news/bidens-supreme-court-pick-championed-advocates-of-critical-race-theory-in-lectures-speeches

Margolis notes the widespread backlash against CRT, and Sen. Joe Manchin voting with Republicans for an amendment to ban it from schools.

https://dailycaller.com/2021/08/11/joe-manchin-tom-cotton-critical-race-theory-vote-a-rama-amendment-budget-resolution/

If Manchin takes the same dim view of Jackson’s leftwing activism, his vote plus the Republicans could be enough to force the withdrawal of the nomination, the same way that he blocked Biden’s Federal Reserve pick Sarah Bloom Raskin. Of course, that would require all the Republicans to stick together in opposing Jackson, including Mitt Romney, Susan Collins and others who often vote with the Democrats.

Hopefully, even they will understand that America doesn’t need, and most Americans do not want, a SCOTUS Justice who ignores the Constitution in favor of personal politics, particularly not wildly unpopular radicalism like Critical Race Theory.

4. You’ve got to hand it to Stacey Abrams

She’s held one office, a Georgia State House seat, yet has somehow managed to parlay that and a losing gubernatorial bid into media celebrity, a national party leadership role, and now a part on “Star Trek” as the “President of United Earth,” a job I’m sure she thinks is too small for her. She probably thinks she should’ve been the President of the Universe, only God rigged the election.

5.ROCK HALL OF FAME RESPONDS TO DOLLY

By “Huckabee” pop culture guru Pat Reeder (http://www.hollywoodhifi.com)

After Dolly Parton graciously and sensibly asked the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to remove her from this year’s nominees (because she’s NOT a rock musician and has never made a rock album), the Hall of Fame responded by refusing her request.

They issued a vague statement about various genres melding to create music that influences youth (yes, one of the main such genres is rock, the one they’re supposed to be honoring.) It is true that country was an early influence on rock, particularly rockabilly. That’s why Hank Williams belongs in the Rock Hall of Fame, as an “Influence.” But Dolly’s first album, “Hello, I’m Dolly,” was released in 1967, long after the genre known as rock was firmly established.

I think what they’re really upset about is that for years, the RnR HOF has been under fire for ignoring acts that deserve induction and inducting acts that don’t. Rather than enact reforms or let the decisions be made by people who actually know the music, they’re trying to baffle us with blather. Dolly's common sense shone a spotlight on their foolishness, and they’re trying to deflect it, rather than admit the obvious need for reform.

I could go on, but I’ll instead refer you to one of my favorite vloggers on rock, Harmless Dave of the Real Music Observer YouTube channel.

I like his observation that they’re doing to music what leftists are doing to gender. Instead of calling it the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, maybe they should just put up a bunch of initials representing every musical form and claim they’re the “genre fluid” hall of fame.

6. “Huckabee” Preview

We’ll also have plenty of laughs from comedian Larry Weaver, and finish off with the inspiring country/gospel sounds of “The Voice” champion, Todd Tilghman.

The fun starts tonight at 8 and 11 EST, 7 and 10 CST, and Sunday at 9 EST/8 CST, on TBN. 7. RIP Don Young

Our prayers and sympathies to the family of Alaska Rep. Don Young who died Friday night at the Los Angeles airport as he was on his way home. Young was 88 and the longest-serving member of the House, having been in office since winning a special election in 1973.

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/alaska-republican-congressman-don-young-dead-at-88-report

In this era of Ivy League policy wonks and lawyer legislators, Young was a throwback to an earlier era when House members actually represented the people who elected them. Young had been a tugboat captain and trapper before coming to Congress. He was famous for his non-Beltway demeanor, which included wielding the pubic bone of a walrus during a House debate, holding a knife to John Boehner’s throat, and sticking his own hand into a bear trap during a hearing to prove that they weren’t unduly painful. Now, that’s how you represent Alaska.

Although I appreciate that Dolly Parton asked the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to remove her from nomination, I am surprised that you seemed to endorse her. Have you watched any of the short movies she produced with Netflix? The content suggests that Dolly has embraced today's woke culture. They are not "Christian" family friendly, and neither is Dolly!

biden has chosen losers to lead our agencies he picked harris to be his VP he led the withdrawal of Afganistan he kept Powell and the head of the FBI our energy czar doesn't know how much energy the US uses our transportation czar tells Americans to buy EV's that are on order for the next two years if you want one maybe in 4 years it will be delivered we are not set up to recharge the batteries for the ones today go ahead and get a car loan for 65000 and purchase one. People are now looking at budget to buy food gasoline medicines clothing education and maybe a vacation and the money coming in will have less value by July as inflation continues to rise. Yet 35% of this population approves of the job sleepy joe is doing. How many Communist do we have in this country Bernie Sanders is dancing all nite long celebrating how the country is doing today. Sanders doesn't say anything as he is so drunk with pride as to how America is working today. Another month of people enjoying the wisdom of Bernie Sanders and his ring of Commies we haven't heard a peep from this scarecrow of a man and his Twin Biden can't speak of his policies and how they are working that is walk away biden while Sanders stays in the closet and sips Russian made vodka.

    Concerning
Dolly: this is typical of our culture now. I believe I know what is right for you, the subject if the issue, so I don’t care what you want, Dolly, because we know best what is right for you and your talent. Dolly simply needs to say, thank you, but I would not be able to accept, in all good conscience, any awards for Rock Music, should I be so honored, as I not a Rock musician.
