Keystone Pipeline Politics
By Mike Huckabee
If President Biden was going to make other nations love us more by replacing Trump, he’s not doing a very good job of schmoozing Canada. After leaving them holding the bag for billions by abruptly and pointlessly canceling the Keystone XL pipeline (while approving a Russian pipeline), the Biden White House is now begging OPEC to increase oil production to ease skyrocketing gas prices. And if you think his unfathomable actions are infuriating now-unemployed pipeline construction workers, try talking to the Premier or the Energy Minister of Alberta, Canada.
Related: Having killed the Keystone XL Pipeline project just because Trump approved it and environmentalists opposed it, the Biden White House is trying to quietly allow the lesser-known Line 3 Pipeline in Minnesota to continue construction, despite similar environmentalist protests. Critics say it’s an admission that Biden knows there was no legitimate reason to kill the Keystone project other than politics.
For those who insist that we had to kill Keystone to somehow save the Earth: one way or another, we need energy, and it’s better that we create it ourselves than have to depend on OPEC for it. It’s also a lot safer for the environment to send it through a carbon-neutral pipeline than on big ships that can leak into the ocean, trucks that can turn over or trains that can derail.
As I’ve noted before, one study found that using diesel trains to transport the same amount of oil to the refineries that would have flowed through the Keystone XL Pipeline will generate pollution equal to putting an additional 400,000 cars on the road. But I guess that’s okay, as long as you’re doing it to “save the planet.”

“Even a Broken Clock Is Right Twice a Day” Desk
By Mike Huckabee
From our “Even a Broken Clock Is Right Twice a Day” Desk: Kudos to National Public Radio, of all outlets, for calling out the CDC for spreading misinformation. The CDC claimed that the Delta variant of COVID-19 is “as transmissible as chicken pox,” one of the most contagious viruses known. As NPR pointed out, that’s only true if you overestimate the contagiousness of Delta and underestimate the contagiousness of chicken pox. It’s two to three times as contagious as the original COVID-19, but it’s no chicken pox.
Republicans And Democrats
By Mike Huckabee
I’m still trying to figure out why 19 Senate Republicans thought we needed to spend $1.2 trillion on a Democrat wish list “infrastructure” bill that spends only about a fifth of its budget on what most people would consider infrastructure. But I’m sure I will never understand why a Republican Senator thinks that now is the perfect time to create a whole lot of new federal judgeships to let the Democrats fill.

The Big Wheel of Random Outrage
By Mike Huckabee
It’s Saturday, so let’s spin the Big Wheel of Random Outrage and select today’s common term that we’re suddenly no longer allowed to use because it’s OFFENSIVE! And the wheel clicks to a…stop…on…”Female!” According to an op-ed in the UC-Santa Barbara newspaper, it is now “uncomfortable,” “dehumanizing” and “overwhelmingly sexist” to use the term “female” to refer to people who are…uh…female.
So, what are we going to call females if we can’t call them females? Maybe we should let the brilliant creative minds at the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine come up with a new term. They’re up for the task. When trans activists complained that “mother” had to be banned because it somehow offended the many men who give birth, the government came up with the laughable term “birthing person.”
But even more creatively, to affirm its “commitment to gender equity and health equity” in creating terminology for “lactation-related” language, the ABM coined the new term “chestfeeding” (I feel sorry for those poor babies, they’re gonna starve); and instead of the offensive sexist term “breastfeeding mother,” they suggest “human milk-feeding individuals.”
That could also apply to the wait person at Denny’s who brings me milk for my corn flakes. Speaking of that, do you know what’s a perfect term for these people? “Flakes.”
High Profile Allegation
By Mike Huckabee
Realizing that most of my readers don’t watch “Saturday Night Live” anymore, I should probably still take notice of this latest high-profile sexual abuse allegation against former cast member Horatio Sanz. In his defense, his attorneys deny the woman's claims and say she’s trying to shake him down for money. Left unanswered: why would the parents of any young teenage girl allow her to go out all night with hard-partying, heavy-drinking celebrities who were twice her age? Warning: disturbing sexual content in this story:
