DAILY BIBLE VERSE
58 Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
1 Corinthians 15:58
Watch Gov. DeSantis’ reaction
I mentioned yesterday that President Biden had to spoil a rare moment of bipartisan cooperation by claiming during his visit to Florida to view the damage from Hurricane Ian, “I think the one thing this has finally ended is the discussion about whether or not there’s climate change and we should do something about it.”
As this story makes clear, Ian was a powerful storm, but the death and destruction was due to the sheer bad luck of how and where it happened to come ashore, not that it was unusually powerful or part of a rising number of hurricanes. It isn't. As noted, the Weather Channel named 2005 as the worst hurricane season ever, and there hasn’t been another one that bad in 17 years.
But what sharp-eyed observers on social media noticed was Gov. DeSantis’ face when Biden made that statement. Click the link above to see it. It’s the kind of expression you normally see in “Who cut the cheese?” memes.
EV Note
I wrote recently about the rising number of problems being pointed out with electric vehicles, with one story being a warning to electric bike owners that if their lithium-ion batteries got submerged in water, especially salt water, they could explode, cause major fires and release toxic gas, and they have to be treated as hazardous waste.
Well, it appears that the same problem is now hitting hundreds of EVs in Florida that got submerged in salt water thanks to Hurricane Ian.
Remember when the worst that flood damage could do to your car was total your car? Now, if it’s an EV that was in your garage, your car can total your house.
Separated At Birth?
Judging from these headlines and stories, maybe. President Joe Biden…
And Pennsylvania Senate candidate John Fetterman…
Remember, Fetterman’s argument for why voters shouldn’t care about his mental fitness for the job is that people also question Joe Biden’s mental fitness and just look at the job he’s doing. Seriously, that’s his argument.
Pardon me for just a moment, as I’d like to specifically address Pennsylvania voters who are backing Fetterman or who are undecided. I’m not going to go into the worrying signs related to his physical and mental health or his refusal to release his health records. Put that aside and just look at the crazy left positions like opening up the prisons that he was taking before his mental health even became an issue; his unimpressive list of life achievements (he was supported by his parents until he was in his late 40s); and his apparent disinterest in the basic job function of showing up (as mayor of Braddock, he stopping coming to council meetings, and for the two years even before his stroke, about a third of work days on his calendar as Lieutenant Governor were blank)…
Maybe you don’t like his opponent Dr. Oz for one reason or another. For instance, Fetterman attacks him for being successful, but he has money because he actually worked for it. But voters of Pennsylvania, please consider this:
Each state gets only two Senators to represent its interests. Each Senator is in office for six years. Let me repeat that: SIX YEARS! That’s over three times longer than Biden has been in office so far, so imagine how much damage can be done to you if you have the equivalent of Biden representing you in the Senate. Put aside nonsense like party loyalty. You owe nothing to the Democratic Party. Just for your own interests, do you really want six years of half of your voice in the Senate being someone who hardly ever shows up except to rubber stamp votes the way Chuck Schumer tells him to?
And again: SIX YEARS!!
Biggest “Who Cares” Headline of the Day! From Fox News, of all places
“Runners in Chicago Marathon Non-Binary Division Don’t Feel Celebrated.”
Good weekend read
Law professor and Instapundit master Glenn Reynolds on why President Biden would rather enrich our enemies by buying oil from OPEC and Venezuela than pay for oil produced in red states like Texas.
More on Kanye West
Rap superstar and fashion mogul Kanye (“Ye”) West gave an interview to Fox News’ Tucker Carlson that’s causing meltdowns all over the media. The interview ranged over a wide variety of topics and went on much longer than Carlson expected. West defended his support of Trump, the right to wear a red MAGA cap without being assaulted, his pro-life beliefs, and standing up against all the leftist and atheist bullies in show business to proclaim his faith in God.
West recently caused leftists’ heads to explode by appearing at a Paris fashion event with Candace Owens, both of them clad in “White Lives Matter” shirts. When Carlson asked why, West replied, “The answer to why I wrote ‘White Lives Matter’ on a shirt is because they do. It’s the obvious thing.”
West’s refusal to toe the line and bow to threats has caused critics to go from proclaiming him a genius to calling him crazy and stupid, but then, that’s what they call everyone who points out the gaping holes in their illogical and destructive views. West may be a little out there at times, as many creative people are, but his head is screwed on straight where it counts.
I know my readers might not usually have much interest in an interview with a leading rapper, but check this one out. I have a feeling it could have a surprisingly large impact on society and even on the upcoming elections. You can tell from how loudly the left is howling about it. That’s not genuine outrage and offense; it’s the sound of fear. They’re terrified of losing their ability to intimidate and of their gravy train being derailed because they know that the young people and minorities whom they’re trying to brainwash with their atheist, racist and socialist lies actually listen to Kanye West.
I JUST WANTED TO SAY:
