In researching a reader’s request for an update on various election-related lawsuits around the country, particularly in Nevada, we have found that it’s almost impossible to find a straightforward source for this information.

Use the more popular search engines such as Google or Yahoo and see:  the sources almost uniformly reflect a left-wing slant and the corresponding dismissive attitude towards Republicans who dare to question.

In our view, any story reporting that “no evidence” has been found of non-citizens being on voter rolls, or using the talking point that “no court has found evidence” of non-citizens voting, must be disqualified.  That’s because there’s plenty of evidence of non-citizens being on voter rolls in states that have been forced to come clean about this and purge those names from their lists.

For states to deny this is happening because “it’s illegal for non-citizens to vote,” we would say that non-citizens voting in federal elections is illegal in EVERY state, and if they’re found on the voter rolls in, say, Texas or Colorado, they’re almost certainly going to be on the rolls in Nevada, too.  Theft is illegal, too, but to use that as a reason to deny that theft occurs is absurd.  And, really, voter fraud is just a different kind of theft.

NOTE:  If you want to help the GOP with their effort to keep the vote safe this time, go to PROTECT THE VOTE on their website.  It also has a round-up on the lawsuits going on in the different states, though as of Sunday it didn’t look quite up-to-date.

BUT...they also have a site that they say is updated weekly…

As for the Nevada lawsuit, this would be Dagusen v Aguilar, filed last month.  Here’s how the RNC characterizes it:

“On September 11, the RNC, Trump Campaign, and the Nevada Republican Party filed a lawsuit against Nevada Secretary of State Aguilar for failure to verify citizenship of registered voters. The RNC brought this lawsuit after discovering evidence of thousands of non-citizens on Nevada’s voter rolls who are at risk of casting ballots this November, which would result in unconstitutional dilution of citizens’ voting power. The complaint asks the court to compel the Secretary to conduct citizenship verification before the presidential election.”

So, the plaintiffs claim to have found EVIDENCE of thousands of these non-citizens who could cast their ballots, resulting in “unconstitutional dilution of citizens’ voting power.”  One would think this would give GOP voters “standing,” but that typically depends on the judge you get.  One of the plaintiffs here, Zenaida Dagusen, is a registered voter in Clark County whose vote would be diluted if someone voted illegally.

And it’s easy for that to happen.  To cite just one way, Nevadans are automatically registered to vote at the DMV when they apply for “the issuance or renewal of change of address for a driver’s license or identification card issued by the Department.  Each person is automatically registered ‘unless the person affirmatively declines in writing to apply to register to vote or have his or her voter registration information updated.’”

And they can’t do anything about this at the DMV, where employees are prohibited from making “an individualized determination of the eligibility of any applicant for the issuance or renewal or a change of address for a driver’s license or identification card to apply to register to vote using the automatic voter registration system.”  For details of the evidence they’ve found of non-citizens on voter rolls, begin on page 10 of the court filing:

As part of the relief (pages 21-22), plaintiffs ask for a permanent injunction requiring the Secretary of State to provide “systematic and routine maintenance that appropriately verifies that registered voters are U.S. citizens…” and lists specifics.  Again, the problem with this is that the election is HERE.

Scott Adams said pessimistically in his Sunday podcast that “we’re not even in the galaxy of some democratic process,” as “the people who control the news can largely decide where the vote goes,” and “the election laws are...being changed and fixed right up to the last minute,” as in Nevada.  “There’s this whole web of election laws that are clearly rigged…”  Plus, we have an election system that can’t be fully audited, especially the large overseas vote.  It’s a lot to overcome.

But remember...we had this system in 2016 and Trump still won.  And this time, we know what we’re dealing with, and Trump does, too.  It has to be a blow-out.

And to give you some hope that voting isn’t futile and you need to vote and take at least 10 like-minded friends with you, Kevin McCullough of Townhall.com lays out some of the actions that the new leaders of the RNC have been taking to roll back the Democrats’ COVID-era loosening of election laws, and to have an army of lawyers ready to rush in and challenge any ballot chicanery.
