Speaking of people who think they know better how to use our money than we do, two top security officials at USAID (the US Agency for International Development) refused to allow officials from Elon Musk’s DOGE to access systems at the agency to audit it. Musk tweeted that USAID is “a viper’s nest of radical-left Marxists who hate America” and “a criminal organization. Time for it to die.” Late Saturday, the Trump White House put those two obstructionist officials on leave.

That story has numerous links explaining how USAID plays Santa Claus to the world with our money, including the recent grant of $15 million for condoms and contraceptives to Gaza. They’re asking for $42.8 billion in this year’s budget. But they might not get it because it’s possible that as of this morning, USAID might be deader than vaudeville.

And speaking of squandering our money: As of September 2024, the US has allocated nearly $183 billion to Ukraine’s war effort against Russia. However, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy told an interviewer, “We received just over 75 [billion dollars]…But when they say that Ukraine, during the war, received 200 billion to support the army, etc., this is not true. I don’t know where all this money is.” He claims they’ve never received it.
